Shatterer Achievements

So I was trying to complete the Shatterer Meta Boss Achievement and get the backpack. However I reached a problem with “Smash the Dragon” and “No-Fly Zone” where it requires me to break his bar approximately 20 times. (Of which I only have 6 which I acquired during the patch for the event.) It’s my fault for burning out of doing Shatterer when it was patched, but now I would like to finish that section of achievements.

It seems most players still use the old strategy of spamming 1 against his poor foot and about 0-5 people are actually using the gliding platforms as intended.

On top of it all, his CC phase, as I found out personally before reading up on it, is inconsistent and never happens at a regular time.

I’ve even attempted to command and call out when to use the glider but the majority of the zerg seems to be in “press 1” mode and never actually follows the mechanics.

I’ll stop my opinions there, but there seems a big issue with being able to complete these achievements when I have no help. Is there any kind of guild or group that does this regularly on the American servers? Shatterer seems to overlap with Chak Gerent/Octovine and other times with Tequatl and Triple Trouble. Even when it happens to be some sort of daily. Making it very hard to find competent players during the event when there’s other (Sometimes more lucrative.) events happening at the same time.

I could use any and all help!

Massive Warrior NERF!!!!

So as one who mains a warrior I’d like to at least understand their reasoning behind this. I believed the whole point of Berserk was that it was a time based skill burst that you invest getting T3 into before going “berserk.” On top of that, some berserker skills give more than 10 adrenaline. Does this mean they’re not supposed to be used in zerk mode?

Also doesn’t this ruin about 3 traits that give you bonuses based on how high you’ve saved your adrenaline and burst it?

Once again, I’m trying to be calm about this, I’d like a reasonable understanding. Because from what I see this is making room for the new PoF elite specs. But didn’t they say that they weren’t going to make the HoT elite specializations useless with the new ones? That they’d both have a role to play?

Charged Slivers and Glacial Fragments Prices

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

As someone who wasn’t able to get many decorations last year. I was really looking forward to adding all the holiday decorations to my guild’s hall this year. However when the holiday hit. I found that Charged Slivers and Glacial Fragments prices just skyrocketed in price.

I was curious if anyone else experienced the same frustration? I understand that this is inherit in the market model that I should have anticipated materials to skyrocket. But do you think Anet should at least give us an easier way to acquire the needed materials?

(Example: Perhaps being able to salvage charged cores/glacial cores/cores in general, for their sub components?)

This would help in the prices and the ability to acquire the proper materials needed. Since there doesn’t seem to be an actual “Good” way to get the item outside of the trading post. (Especially for Charged Slivers.) The only way to acquire Glacial Fragments is either through a low level alt opening bags and having a very rare chance to get it. Or farming certain ice elemental.

I’m hoping the price will go down eventually, but these make it very hard for my measly amount of in game savings to really put a dent in any decorations.

What do you guys think? Should we provide input on the ability to more easily acquire low level crafting materials if they’re going to be used in modern recipes?

The Poll.

It’s a good idea in theory. It would balance group skill levels so 5 solo players don’t go up against a full 5 team pre-build.

So Yes, it’s a good idea for overall player experience and team balance.

But on the other hand, I enjoy playing with friends. Not necessarily everyone built to specifications. But I’ve had the most fun running as a guild/friend team of 3-5 than running solo.

Perhaps add this feature in un-ranked and see how players gauge the experience before adding it to ranked?

Wing 3 weird since the patch?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

This specifically has to do with new Raid Bugs that i’ve noticed after the quarterly update.

I was running druid for the raid events.

Vale Guardian
The guardian spun in the middle of the arena when switching focus.
From what I can gather, our tank went downed in one of the damage zones and switched its focus to the next highest toughness. (Me) But I was behind the group running the green AOE circles. While the tank got revived, the Vale Guardian got stuck in the center spinning for a good 10 seconds.

I assume it could be a pathing error caused by the reward chest after defeat?

Matthias
The only thing I can note here without trying it again is that he seemed to change aggro a lot. And we double checked our toughness to make sure there was only one tank.

Keep Construct
After exposed core phase, during burn phase, he would spawn on the edge of the map. Most notably hugging the North Eastern side.

Guild Arena Decorations - Ramps and Platforms

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I’m loving thew new arena and the sand boxy way you can control things. However, one thing that disappointed me initially was the inability to add verticality to the arena map. There seems to be so much potential in allowing players to run above or below others in the arena. I’m curious how people have accomplished this, or why this was not a feature. It seems to be such an obvious one, I can’t fathom why they don’t allow you to place ramps or platforms. Or even traps that send you vertically? The opposite of vortex traps. Like the pistons used in Dragon Ball Arena.

Send me your thoughts, I’d loe to hear them!

Does anyone know if unlocking multiple guild halls removes the upgrades you have on the current guild hall you’re using? For instance, If I had Gilded Hollow upgraded a little, then unlocked and switched to Lost Precipice, would the upgrades transfer over?

I’m also not sure if this is a “Bug” per se. But I used Mordremoth’s Bane Guild Decoration in our newly acquired guild hall. However, I only got 1 Wyvern Statue. When everyone else after me, got 2 of each item they purchased.

If this is a bug, I would like this fixed so we get the proper number of statues and decorations.

Orichalcum Farming Troubles

Alimar.8760

Yes I’m sure I didn’t hit “Deposit Collectible” because I was trying to gauge roughly how much Orichalcum i could earn total on all my characters.

Yes and I understand your reasoning with the “once per day” which is why I was wondering if they fixed it so that less than 50% of the spawns actually appear on a guested server. I have found no hard evidence of this in any of the Anet updates.

Orichalcum Farming Troubles

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Alimar.8760

Alimar.8760

With the new guesting feature I have jumped onto different servers and helped other friends and while I was at it decided to start farming more of the Rarer metals in the game. Notably “Orichalcum” for its obvious benefits in armor, weapons and trying to achieve a legendary precursor.

With that I have gotten into the habit of taking a lvl 80 when i have time to farm Orichalcum on a regular daily basis, jumping servers to farm it again after I complete my home server. But something odd happened today, (After a few days hiatus due to real life issues.) I farmed up to 32+ Orichalcum Ore all around Orr, Malchors Leap, Sothsun and the lvl 80 shiverpeaks area. When I looked in my inventory, it stated I only had 13 ore. I even checked my game log and it stated I should have earned 32 ore.

I don’t know if this is a bug. But it happened twice to me tonight when I jumped to a different server.

Included with that, I can’t find an answer on any Anet update notes but now when I guest to another server, I find it hard to find any Orichalcum nodes. I currently use www.orrmaps.com and I was on the correct server an using a reliable and updated map. Still less than 50% of the same nodes spawned. This confused me because I would go to the area, find either an empty node, no node and on the rare chance, a node that I could actually farm. Included with that, i farmed over 20+ ore on that server and my inventory still said i had 13 ore.

My questions to either are:

First, I’m pretty sure this 13 ore problem is a bug but I can’t find anyone with the same problem.

Second, has Anet adjusted the accessible drops from a “guested” player so as to curb the influx of Orichalcum?

Third, is this considered exploiting the game. I would like to know because I am an honest player and I do not want to be banned.

Fourth, has anyone else had or noticed this problem?

Weapon Suggestion

One of the most iconic weapons in Guild Wars 1, that I have currently not found in GW2 is the Chaos Axe. Whether this is deliberate due to the fact that chaos axes are found in the Fissure of Woe. (Balthazar’s Realm) or due to an oversight. I would like to see a return of the Chaos Axe. Even if this was a legendary weapon I would put forth all my money and time toward getting this weapon.

@Akorn, I understand that we have to give it time to settle. But its the fact that I see plenty of gamers that transfer just because we’re “Not winning” and because its free they feel like they have no commitment. I’ll continue to play, learn and enjoy the game no matter what as I agree with you WvW isn’t just the only part of the game. It just gets frustrating. The best games are the close games, when a game is already decided it just gets boring for one party and frustrating for the other involved party.

Sometimes its best to be the underdog and you can always guarantee that there will be some darn good fighting. I woe the day that we can all get organized as an entire server and actually communicate rather then everyone shouting in team chat and no one listening. Darkhaven Alliance forever!

A frustrating thing I’ve noticed is when I go into Towns, or into WvW. I hear people talking about us losing and then they say they’re going to switch servers to the “Winning Server.”

To me this is frustrating because if they are switching servers, (And if I know gamers, many of the hardcore W3ers are doing just that.) it screws us over. Anet had a system enabled to prevent this from happening. Which was to charge players for server transfers and they could only transfer once every 2 weeks. (I think the time period is right.) But due to the fact that they never implemented guesting like they said. They made charges free and thus caused what they didn’t want to happen in the first place. I for one will stay with Darkhaven till the end but I just cant help but feel that Anet needs to give people some kind of incentive to go back to other servers that are losing and fight for them.

Now that my rant is over. Is there going to be another W3 Guild Leader meeting? I wasn’t able to make the last time due to a mistake in the time it was being held.

@ Zulubeast.8519

Agreed. We need to have more than just the typical tactic of turtleing and zerging everything. My recommendation would be to have 2-3 splinter groups made of 15-20 players each working on the non-defended points (Supplies, etc) while the main force assaults keeps/towers etc. With a bit of skill and coordination we can cut off supply in an area and bleed out the defenders. Golems are nice but they’re gigantic targets. To be used sparingly IMO. I could see this team of golems being one of the splinter groups taking out nearby towers while we assault keeps and the like.

Edit: I will be able to make the meeting.

Slartibartfast (Spoonerism) directed me here. I’m a leader of a moderately sized guild called “The Tyrians” and we are working on getting our members together for daily/weekly games in WvW. I too have been disappointed in the lack of teamwork that Darkhaven seems to have. I agree that the server matchup currently isn’t the best, but hopefully Anet’s ranking system will curve over time to give each server a better chance and a closer battle all around. Completely dominating may be good, but it gets boring real quickly. Same thing with being completely dominated, no normal gamer has the heart to really push and pursue winning. The best games, are close games, that force each player to be better than they already are.

One of the items of note I’ve noticed, is the fact that a lot of people on our server seem to just attack any enemy on sight. Rather than attacking the server that is losing, we should be both pushing the front on Yacks. We don’t have to ‘team up’ that’s illogical as we can damage them with AOE. But a general truce and the ability to push Yacks on two fronts will split their team in half or force them to give ground and retreat to a better defended position.

The one big frustrating thing is how expensive Commander was from the beta. In the beta it was only 10 gold and now its 100 gold. Add that to the lack of Dungeon farming due to Anet nerfing the ability to do certain areas of dungeons without dieing fifty times. Add that to the repair cost of high end and exotic armor and we got a real financial crisis.

All this added up tells us one thing. That we need to band together, pool all of our resources, and fight back. It really doesn’t matter how well we do, it really doesn’t matter if we win. What matters is that we learn co-operation and partnership, and teach all the other servers that our will as a server community will not be broken.
