Legion of Honour [XIII]
Elementalist
I’ve been having issues lately with being unable to preview dyes correctly in my Hero screen. I click to apply a dye and it will show on my armor as I hover over it, but once I click to apply the dye the armor reverts to another color. That other color doesn’t seem to have any rhyme or reason to it, other than being a color I used for another dye slot. For example, I was testing Celestial on the metal pieces, and wanted Glacial Sky on the cloth, and it applied Celestial to my entire armor set. It seems to be updated correctly to what I apply once I get out of the Hero screen, but it is not allowing me to preview.
I have had only one issue with Windows 10, and it is with my graphics card. Nvidia 670mx, and it only happened when I’d try to alt+tab or alt+window out of the game, about half the time it would flicker, and give me a “Displayer Driver stopped responding and has recovered” error. I just downloaded the Win10 Nvidia driver so we’ll see if that problem continues. Otherwise, I have had no issues with the Windows 10 update and being able to play GW2.
Not so. That was in response to the comment that 3 years was full moneys worth. I dont care how much others pay as long as i can still play
Okay, fair point. I concede.
You cant say that you got your moneys worth for 3 years as I have been buying games a long time both console and pc. When I buy a game its for good. Heck some games I will go more than 3 years without playing and go back to them as theyre my games. I have replayed ff7 many times over the years and intend to be able to play it again if I so feel as Ive bought it.
But Dane, you still have this game, too. You still have GW2. You only have to pay if you want the new content.
So by that logic, are you also offended and upset when a game you paid $60 for XBox 360 drops down to $10 in the bargain bin 3 years later?
Yes I see that but how is it fair to me? Why should I have to pay more money while new players don’t? Why am I getting punished for buying the core game when it released?
How are you being punished? You played the game for three years. New players won’t be getting everything you got. You can continue to play just as you are, not buy HoT, and still be better off than the F2P players.
It is not the F2P I have a problem with. I think it’s a great idea. My problem is that new players can buy both the core game and HoT for HALF the price of what I paid for my games. How is this fair?
Because they aren’t getting the same game that you paid for. There will be no Living Story and those 40 other updates we had over the last three years. What do they have to pay for with GW2 Core?
The entire story for the core game that I also paid for? The living story was great and all but it was free so it shouldn’t even be brought into the picture. The core game is still a game with a storyline.
Okay, I see what you’re are saying. That part never changes, and a lot of players get bored with that, so that is why they offer the new stuff. I wouldn’t call it “free”, you paid for that, too. We knew there would be content releases when we purchased the game, so that could definitely have been a selling point for many a player. But you see the core game as the game, maybe you are a player who doesn’t participate in a lot of the new stuff. Okay, I get that.
Still, you can’t look at things this way. Do YOU feel that YOU got your money’s worth? If yes, that’s all that matters. Making it free with limited content at a later time doesn’t change the fact that you were satisfied with your purchase.
As I said it is not the F2P I have a problem with. Once again I think it’s a great idea. My problem is that you can buy HoT and get the core game for free, but I who already bought the core game now has to pay for HoT. It wouldn’t be a problem if new players paid for both games instead of just one.
Okay. I’m not gonna lie, I AM a little bothered by it. Mostly b/c it seemed we were promised continuing and changing content, and at release ANet was adamant that there would never be expansions with this game (or so I seem to recall).
But I don’t see how else ANet could handle an expansion. What would be the point in releasing an expansion and giving it to their current customers for free? That’s unreasonable to expect a company not to be able to profit off their work. I don’t feel that it’s “owed” to me. And the only way I can look at it is that the $60 I paid in 2012 was for the last three years of game I have enjoyed. I can keep playing that content without buying HoT. They’re not taking that away from me. But if I want to play the new content, I have to pay $50 just like everyone else. I don’t see how it could be any other way. So, you either buy it or you don’t.
Yes I see that but how is it fair to me? Why should I have to pay more money while new players don’t? Why am I getting punished for buying the core game when it released?

I don’t like it, can I has gems instead? thx
Same, it’s ugly and that helmet is hideous. I’m sure ArenaNet didn’t bother trying to make this outfit nice since they could spend more time working on Gem Store outfits. They didn’t even bother making it an armor instead of just an outfit. It’s like they don’t care at all.
Seriously people will complain about anything.
There are a LOT of Gem Store outfits that I think are ugly. There are only a few I have actually liked. But other people obviously like them. I think it’s a matter of taste and you have to accept that not everyone has the same taste and that ANet can’t make an outfit that would appeal to everyone’s tastes.
Yes I see that but how is it fair to me? Why should I have to pay more money while new players don’t? Why am I getting punished for buying the core game when it released?

Free to play players shouldn’t get acess to:
Guild Banks
Buy gems with goldThe price of gems is crazy now if you allow the free players buy gems with gold then the price will skyrocket so high that no one will be able to buy gems again, except for the hardcore farmers.
And we need put more strict behavior rules we don’t want this game comunity became another league of legend !!
They don’t get either of those things. Maybe you should read the posts about them before you start complaining.

(edited by Aluna Darklady.3165)
I like gw2, i have played this for years. But because new ppl get most of it for free, it makes us veterans stop playing. I bought gw2, and a few weeks ago HoT.
Either they give some compensation to the veterans or they will lose a huge part of their player base.
If veterans are quitting the game, it isn’t because there is a F2P option. There are other reasons and this might be the “nail in the coffin” as they say. What i’m saying is that if you play the game and love the game, and still love the game, then you aren’t going to be quitting over this, and if you do, that’s absolutely ridiculous.
I think the GW2 community is unique in that they are welcoming and helpful (well, for the most part) and I think those of us who truly enjoy the game will welcome the influx of new players. I see all these complaints about flooding the servers, but in reality, it seems kind of sparse at times, and I think that it would be nice to grow the population. I think it’s thoughtful of ANet to start this NOW so that F2P players have the time to try the game, and build up a character before HoT release in October.
GW2 is not a subscription game, you were not charged by time for the game but by content. And now that exact same content is given away for free, meaning you, he, and all of us were charged for free content.
IT IS NOT THE SAME EXACT CONTENT!!!
Looks pretty good to me.
Wow, SUCH a surprise!
Vayne, my good and excellent friend, tell me one thing: among those successful MMORPGs, of which you claim GW2 is a pristine example of, how many have changed their model to free to play?
Because I just happen to have a list of MMORPG failures which were forced to, at the apex of their failure, go free to play. In fact, for most of them going F2P was the main sign of how poorly they were doing.
Is this somehow familiar to you?
Okay, let’s get something straight. The GAME is not F2P – only part of the game, only a very restricted portion of the game. To play the true game, you still have to B2P. I am not an expert on MMORPG’s, but I do know that I thought of GW as a unique model, and GW2 as well. I like that it’s different, and that they aren’t just doing the same as everyone else. I am not sure if anything like this has ever been done? Maybe it has, but I don’t know about it. But again, it’s not that GW2 is now a F2P game and before it was paid, it is that now there is a F2P option with limited content.
I see this as a marketing strategy and not a “sign of doing poorly”.
After all that everything I paid for and worked for is just free to everyone else if they want it. My money (which I work for and dont have tons of) means nothing to Arenanet obviously and if I want to play the new content I have to pay the same amount as someone who never supported this franchise who get everything I have paid hundreds of dollars for. I have to pay this outrageous amount for each of my 6 accounts!
So the loads upon loads of releases you got for free mean nothing to you? You got up to 40 completely free content releases (based on when you bought the game) and you still complain?
I didnt complain about what I got in content. Im upset that I have the pay the same ammount as someone who just buys the expansion and get everything I paid for for included which amounts to a large sum where I come from. No worries though I guess my investment has just become basically a ftp account because I wont buy hot for 6 accounts at that price and doubt if Id even pay once the price drops as Id already be so far behind everyone Ive played with this long.
You’re not owed anything. Neither am I. I preordered this game before launch, played in the betas, and I’ve played for three years. ArenaNet doesn’t owe me crap, because I got the game I paid for.
And you still have more than a free account does! Quite a bit more.
Under that exact same logic, he was charged for a free game, and so were you.
Not true. The game that F2P players are getting and the game that I paid for are not the same game.
Can’t you at least read the FAQ supplied that shows rather clear that the effect on the economy will be minimal?
I can’t read the faq cause all i get is :
So can someone maybe post the faq here ?

They AREN’T getting everything you paid for. Where are you getting that they get the same that you paid for? Did you actually bother to read what all the restrictions are?
To all the players who have been with the game since Gw1/Gw2 launch and are going on and on about “I’ve been with the game since xyz, I’m so offended, blah blah blah.” :
A. No one forced you to buy the game, you did so because you enjoy it.
B. Offering the original game on a f2p basis opens the door to those who want to try the game but are unsure if the financial investment is worth it. How many times have you bought a game to go, “man I don’t like this game, $50 down the drain.”
C. The accounts have almost no access. They are locked down to a point where they can get the flavor of the game, without disrupting the existing base.
D. Stop acting like GW2/Anet/NCSoft owes you something. At the end of the day, it’s a business. It’s nice when they treat the older players to something nice (the new outfit), but at the end of the day what keeps the game going for US OLDER PLAYERS to KEEP ENJOYING, is new blood/new money.
WELL SAID!!!
PvP should be barred until they reach lvl 30-45. it’s f2p for the core game; they should have to play the core game before being able to branch off same as it is for wvw.
Why?
Calm down everyone: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/play-for-free-today/ Seriously.
I could not be more offended by this! Me being someone who supported and purchased both GW1 and GW2 before launch and participated in both betas cant understand for the life of me why they would value me as a player and supporter so little.
I paid 70 dollars for my account and also bought 5 more accounts for my wife, kids and sister. I also spent hundreds of dollars in the gem store.
Not only do I not have that kind of money to continue to invest in a game that values me so little as a customer in favor of new players who may or may not even stick with the game of help sell more copies or buy gems, but I wouldnt pay it if I did have at least 300 dollars just laying around!
Thank you for ruining the game that I am so highly invested in with time and money and saying to me “Just shut up and have a free character slot” which Ive already bought many of.
I have just lost 10 years of built up respect for this franchise! =-(
I do not understand this mindset AT ALL. I have played since release, but I have PLAYED since release, meaning I had access to all the content and Living Story and all the changes and items and everything for the last 3 years. Making the CORE game F2P with considerable restrictions does NOT make my money spent less valid, does not offend me, does not in any way affect the game I paid for and played for the last 3 years. We need to stop being such big babies. Sheesh.
My mouth just dropped.. I don’t know what to say..
1. So.. down the line when we get to expansion 2 and 3… does HoT become free to the newer players after that??And more importantly,
2. How does this now affect the economy??
Arenanet, this A HUGE smack to the face to every loyal GW2 player since day one, heck even GW1… nothing to compensate to veteran players besides mediocre birthday presents and…… “A” outfit?? Really? Is this what all my money has earned over this years?
I don’t think Arenanet owes us any “compensation”. What about the 3 years of GW2 we’ve been playing? So “all your money” you have spent over the years was so you could earn rewards now? Umm, I think not.
To me this news doesn’t affect us in that way. I’m more concerned about the community changing, and possible abuse. But I feel those were both addressed well in the announcement, and I see this now as simply a marketing strategy, a “hook” to get people to try the game. I do believe, if they like the game enough they will buy the expansion, if not, they probably won’t play that long.
(edited by Aluna Darklady.3165)
Actually, I was really hoping that wasn’t true, but after hearing him talk about it, I see the tactic. They want to bring in new players, and really, it’s true, if they like the game they’ll buy. If they don’t, they’re not going to keep playing. So, it’s just a way of getting more people interested.
If people are willing to pay for it, it isn’t a rip off.
I disagree, also, with OP re: having all items always available. I think it would make everything less exciting were everyone able to get it.
It took me a long time to earn enough to upgrade my bank tab slots and add extra inventory bags. And I played from release. I don’t see how it’s unfair…?
I find these responses hilarious. Based on what I hear and know, I would guess it’s engi, but I suppose we don’t really know without doing a count? I don’t see many thieves, either, but I also only PvE, ftmp. Ele is my main.
Maybe you should poll what people’s mains are, and then the results will tell you which is least popular?
Glad to hear it!! I personally get much enjoyment from this game, and a good portion of that is due to the people I have met.
You’re right, of course, if it wasn’t advertised as such, you have no way of knowing.
I have only read the OP so I don’t know what has all been said, but immediately, I thought I NEED to refer you to the guild I’m a member of, Legion of Honour. Check out our thread here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OPERATION-UNION-Bringing-Players-Together/first
We are VERY casual, laid back guild. Sometimes people don’t log in for days, weeks, months; there is no repping requirements. But there are enough of us regulars that there is usually always someone to run something with. Very friendly people and atmosphere. It is my opinion that you should be able to find what you are looking for.
EDIT: Okay, so now I’ve gone back and read through it all thoroughly. Of course, I imagine there are several guilds that are friendly and not the way that you describe. Of course there are leets, there are always going to be leets, but that doesn’t mean they are ALL leets. I think the atmosphere overall is very friendly. I have ran PUG groups, both good and bad, and I think the bad just tend to stand out more b/c we remember them.
I probably would not want to run with a level 40 in AC if I as looking for a speed run, tbh. Though, I wouldn’t ever kick them out. I suppose it just depends on what the PUG groups you ran with were looking for, and it seems that many of them are speed runs. And can be very leet. As someone above said, you can go to gw2lfg.com and find groups there. Maybe in your situation the best thing would be for you to create the lfg, and specify your level and that you are not interested in a speed run or whatever. That way the people who join YOU will know up front what to expect.
@Danikat, you said it well. And you, too yellow stang.
Basically, no one can tell you what to do, but you really aren’t going to know unless you log back in. I think that overall, the community in GW2 is very friendly and helpful and I just ignore the leetists. Good luck!!

I don’t live in Nebraska anymore, but not far over the Kansas border. Is there a particular reason why you want “local” people to hang out with? I have met many people through my guild, Legion of Honour, from all over the world, and we have great fun. You can check out this thread for more info: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OPERATION-UNION-Bringing-Players-Together/first
My name should be beside this post. Good luck, Nocturnal Lunacy in finding more Nebraska players!
I used a random name generator to inspire my names. I do have two characters with the same surname, “Darklady” I have one with name + “the Brave” and then another random name + surname. The final one was based off a book I read…the main character in the book is my first name, and the title of the book the last name Caitrin Heartsblood, if you’re curious. ;-)
I had made several toons with the last slot before I settled on Caitrin, and I have never once had a name that was taken. I’m almost skeptical that something else wasn’t the issue with your game than the name. It seems so unlikely that you could try THAT long with no success unless the names you picked are very short or very very common (popular characters/games/etc)?
At any rate, the suggestions above are about your best bet. Either try a variation, or you’re going to have to come up with something else. Random Name Generators are very useful; as someone said, you don’t necessarily have to go with what they pick, but it gives inspiration.
Good luck!!
Well, this is an old thread, but now I have played other classes, and I feel more qualified to respond to this. ;-)
Ele doesn’t NEED weapon swap b/c we have attunements, which imo, is like having four weapon swaps! We have 20 sets of skills as opposed to the usual 10 (and I don’t feel like it’s as easy to swap weapons as attunements).
I have adjusted my build to a Fire/Earth Signet Condition Damage build, and I do well with it.
I think I understand why people say it’s “twice as much work” but I disagree with this assessment. I have an 80 Warrior now, and a 37 Guard and a 42 Ranger, and so far, I like none of them as well as my ele. They are almost…boring. Not nearly as much to do or as fun to play. On my ele I always have a skill to cast, while with the other classes I feel like I’m waiting on cool downs. So much more at my disposal.
I think it’s not for everyone, but I find it very enjoyable.
I do have a Level 7 Necro, which seems to be interesting, so far. I have not played a Mesmer but I hear a lot of good things about them as well. So I can’t compare honestly to the other light armor classes. Really, it’s just personal preference, I think.
You mean how your stats are higher?
Basically if you add all your points from Power, Precision, Toughness, Vitality, Condition Damage, and Healing Power, you have about 1000 points more than I do. Only your Power and Healing Power are lower than mine, and not by that much. I don’t think your ascended accessories make up for that much of a jump, so I’m just curious how you have so many points? Exotics should all have the same number spread…Does that make sense?
I cannot find where you have anything that should equal that much more stat points than I.
This isn’t a PvP build, is it?
Graybes…wow. I have the SAME problem! I have a s/d Ele Main, and my alts are just not the same. The biggest thing for me is the 20 weapon skills as opposed to 5 (or arguably 10) on alts. I’m so used to swapping attunements and always having a skill to use.
I have a Warrior, Guard, and Ranger alt. I don’t mind any of them, but I can’t say that any of them particularly strike me and none of them do I prefer over my ele. I’m not 80 yet on any of them, so can’t really give specifics on the profs, but I just had to comment b/c I know what you mean!!
(edited by Aluna Darklady.3165)
I run a condition damage build with s/d and all signets (Air, Water, and Earth, as well as Healing, plus Glyph of Elementals for Elite). http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/elementalist/?1|b.1h.h5.8.1h.h1h|0.0.0.0.0.0|1k.716.1k.a2.1h.716.1h.716.1h.716.1k.716|21l.e12.1k.68.1k.68.1h.62.1h.62.ck.68|u67c.0.u23c.0.a5|0.0|e I wear a mix of Carrion/Cleric’s armor and accessories, with Carrion weapons.
I agree with NinjaEd about the precision thing. I don’t think it’s viable to go for a small amount of precision; you’re better off stacking higher in another area. I don’t get anything with precision stats. I can’t imagine the “Written In Stone” is useful if you aren’t running signets. DEKeyz has a lot of great things to say so I won’t bother getting into that.
If you’ve gotten this far, then I’m sure you know this, but Ele’s are just squishy. Learning to dodge and kite and move around is the biggest way to help with survivability. I mean, we can stack toughness, but it only helps so much.
One thing I’m curious about…how are all your stats so high? I’m level 80 and fully geared (except back piece) and all my stat points equal about 1000 less than yours?!
I did play around with going full Carrion and forgetting the Healing Power altogether. But it didn’t raise my stats a significant amount to make it worth regearing. Now, in PvP, I ran full Carrion with Runes of the Adventurer, basically to maximize my power and cond damage. I haven’t run it much yet, but if I hadn’t already geared in PvE I may have went for that.
The other thing is, like DEKeyz mentioned, carrying weapons for situational use. I had a hard time with this at first, as I’m quite comfortable with s/d, but I have come to see the wisdom in it. I have an exotic Staff in my inv I carry at all times, and use it when necessary for ranged situations, like the Nightmare Tree in TA, or the Flame Legion Assassins in CoFP2. I also swap out my Utility Skills in situations where say, I need Ice Bow for AC burrows, or I need some AoE, so I put in Glyph of Storms for a bit. Etc. I think it helps to know what you’re capable of in addition to what is comfortable for you.
Welcome to all the newcomers! Hope to see you in game, if I haven’t already!
@pptkrreg. It sounds very interesting. I’d be happy to help.
Welcome to all the newcomers!! Hope to see you in-game soon!
@OptimusPrime…you don’t have to apologize for being a newbie! As Hele said, we were all there at one time!
My main, Mera Darklady. Top is temple karma armor, and so are the shoes. The skirt is Conjurer’s, and the headpiece is feathered. Colors are Burgundy, Iron, and Frost. I’m 80 and this is my exotic gear. Carrion and Cleric’s. I’m thinking about going for the Arah skirt, but that’s the only change that I would make.
Are there not people who just enjoy the game for the sake of playing? I just play. I have goals, of course, but it’s about playing, for fun. It seems like some people just have to complain about everything. I don’t view this game as a comparison to any other game, or as what Anet got right or wrong, but just a game that exists and I will have my fun with it.
Maybe I missed it (probably since I kind of skimmed), but I didn’t see anyone mention that you don’t have to use a dodge skill to get daily dodger, but your double-tap to evade works, as well.
I have difficulty timing it well, but I have found that drakes and AoE’s work well to dodge. They have long cast times. The drakes spew fire or poison or whatever, and it lasts awhile. Sometimes can get two evades from one.
Not one of my favorite dailies. Will be nice if we really get to choose our own.
Acension, I’ve read through this entire thread and can’t understand what you are actually wanting from it. Everyone has told you all the facts, and there is nothing you can do. Transfers are not free. By the tone of your responses, my suspicion is that you were just looking for a hand-out, for someone to feel sorry for you and give you the gold to transfer. Nothing drives me more nuts.
I disagree and don’t really feel it’s your friends’ faults nor that they or your guild should have to help cover the cost. You should have been better prepared. If they deliberately did not join you on your server, then maybe there is a reason. You keep saying “refer to my previous response” and that doesn’t say anything. Still can’t figure out what it is you are wanting from this thread? i.e. WHAT IS YOUR POINT?
Welcome newcomers! I’ve seen a few of you in game, already.
Yes, Noppy, your post almost brought tears to my eyes. I think of us like a big family, as well.
Sounds like you all will get what you’re looking for here. I am also quiet and shy, like you Fir, but in game, Mera seems to be very talkative…
I also can hardly solo anymore, Nate. I’m so used to company that I’ve become very needy. :P This guild has spoiled me…;) hehe. My husband and I also both are involved…but he doesn’t play very much at all. Trying to work on getting him in game more often. :P
Welcome all you newcomers and see you in game (if I haven’t already)!
@Aeleniel…yes, real life has a way of doing that. Looking forward to getting to see you in game!
Welcome Cat Kat! Invite has been sent. See you in-game!
Welcome to all the newcomers! I’ve seen a few of you in game, already, and great talking to you! Hope you’re all enjoying yourselves, and PLEASE PLEASE do NOT be afraid to ask questions!!!
Same here, Dek. Maybe this is a good time to remind everyone about our Forum Website: http://operationunion.enjin.com. Not a requirement of joining the guild by any means, but certainly a lot of fun!!
Toodles!
Well said, FGreenOak! Wintersday is almost over, but I think this applies to all times of the year.
I get more pleasure from helping others than from criticizing them. Coming out of my shell and meeting people in-game has been much more satisfying than running around by myself and ignoring everyone.
I CAN’T run by someone without rezzing them!
Love the Dalai Lama quote. It is so true. I think this world needs more compassion.
@Kiteisa, thank you and your boyfriend for being such friendly, selfless gamers!
Welcome newcomers! We are excited to have you.
Good luck everyone with your resolutions! I don’t like making New Year’s resolutions. I guess I kind of feel like I should be doing these things all the time. Be a better person. Exercise/lose a little weight. Eat better. Give to the needy. Etc.
Or…maybe it’s that I know that I make resolutions/set goals all the time and typically fail at them, so why set myself up for the disappointment? Haha. In the words of Yoda, “Do or do not. There is no try.” So I don’t. :-P
Well…I guess we want to have another baby this year. So maybe that will be my resolution. ;-)
@G…You are sweet! That’s a perfect resolution. Good luck!!!
Welcome Sludgemunsta and yay for another HoD player!! :-D
Welcome to all the rest of you, as well! Will see you in game (if I haven’t already)! :-)
Glitch, you’re so modest. :-) Thank YOU for all you’ve done. :-)
I did not read all the posts, but I have to say that ele is NOT an easy prof to master! I think it is almost collectively agreed that it is one of, if not the most difficult professions to master.
I know why changing attunements seems intimidating. But as most everyone has said, once you get used to it you don’t even notice. I think your question is that if you’re building for support and healing, do you have to stay in Water? Or whatever. No. You need to utilize all your skills. But if you’re built for healing, then you might tend to be in water most often. The real damage of an ele is done by swapping. I start in fire, then use air, earth, and finally water for healing if I need it, and switching back through the cycle if necessary. I spend the most time attuned to fire, and that is b/c I’m specced for power. If I have only one, two, or even three enemies on me, a lot of times I don’t ever have to change attunements b/c I kill them so fast. It’s when you’re in a bigger group, or have a big boss that it will become more crucial.
Things about eles: You will need to learn to kite and you are squishy. I, like SlimGenre, love my ele. Probably don’t have THAT many hours logged into it, but I really love this prof. I don’t have a gaming mouse and I have no trouble swapping attunements and cycling spells speedily. It is probably easier, no doubt, but not necessary.
Good luck!
I also have been playing ele since the beginning. Def a learning curve. And it isn’t for everyone. S/D is my preferred weapon combo, and I still have it at level 80. Haven’t really played any of the others.
I JUST found this link and went and watched the video and read through it and I think it would be useful to a beginning ele. http://www.thehealthygamer.com/2012/09/06/guild-wars-2-elementalist-scepter-dagger-leveling-build/
I had a ton of trouble at first, and what I did was research online and watch some videos to get the technique of switching attunements and kiting. She will need to learn to kite, for sure. I have specced more of a “glass cannon” build, but am still having issues with dying, so I’m going to respec for some more toughness. I do think there needs to be a little more of a balance. But I would focus more on power than toughness. We are deadly!!
I love my ele. Like I said, watch some videos, read some tips, and really just play it and find out what works for you (or her, rather). It does get easier when you get your traits and open up all your slots. Don’t give up too early, but if she keeps with it awhile and finds out that she still doesn’t like it, then it may not be for her.
Good luck!
Thank you, Shanna!
I’m WAY behind on this one, but decided to go back and read through the thread, and I want to comment on the Math discussion. I LOVE math! I took advanced statistics in college simply as an elective, i.e. for fun, got a better grade than the math majors, and I’m so sad I’m not in school anymore…because once out of practice the brain forgets. :-( I can’t describe the sense of accomplishment of working through a calc problem, taking up to a page and a half and getting the answer at the end.
I should have majored in Math but…well, I didn’t. <sigh>
