Well, at least I get rewards for scouting and defending, amirite?
Here is a work-around, since Anet decided players completing the story as intended should not be allowed to partake in this highly lucrative farm.
(edited by Moderator)
So, since some of us are blocked from partaking in this Anet approved farm, and thereby loosing out on earning wild amount of money, here is a link someone posted on how to get inside this farm if you have completed the story as intended.
Some guy got a precursor out of these bags. Now I’m sure happy Anet in their infinite wisdom won’t let me farm these since I finished the instance as intended. G €ffing G.
Thanks, Jabberwock.
I understand that the farm is not considered an exploit, as the demand is purely player created. However, so is the whole economy in GW2. And therefore locking some people out of the market is in essence unfair considering how the economy of GW2 is based on anyone beeing able to aquire the goods traded for.
Thanks @RoseofGilead, I was more trying to get Anet to realize that there is a discrepancy between allowing this farm, and not having it open to all players.
As I have finished the halloween instance where players currently make loads of gold from farming rats, I am unable to participate in this Anet-sanctioned farming. Please fix this bug so the rest of us can farm without having to buy a new account.
I would this is highly unfair. As this farming method has been sanctioned by Anet, it’s providing players who did not complete the instance with a way to earn gold that is not generally available to the rest of the player base. If it had been so that this instance could be entered freely, and not account-locked once you finish it on ONE character, then it would have been fine. The amount of gold this is making must be causing ripple effects throughout the rest of the economy, thereby punishing players who completed the instance.
Go anet-logic.
This is simply atrocious. This smells like planned cash milking from players, offering gems only in increments that doesn’t even fit the prices in the gem store. Want to buy both that 700 gem outfit, and that 200 gem accessory? Sücks for you, you gotta get 1200 gems, and let the rest of those gems röt.
I’ve never been a gem whale, I’ve only spent a total of 80 €, but I have enjoyed converting some of my ingame gold to the occasional black lion key, and therefore participated in the gold sink that is necessary to sustain an MMO economy.
And enough of the “new players are dümb didly didly doo”, if that’s the problem try fixing it by not taking a dümp on the rest of us who understands the system.
Yep. Hard to tell when you’re out of combat. There’s been some weird bugs going around, but this surely is one among the top ones.
If you ain’t getting enough karma go back to Tequatl, otherwise you are welcome to come try WvW by entering one of the borderlands or the Eternal Battlegrounds!
Can’t wait to go looking for the frog again!
This is the type of threads we would like to see, good work John! I like the idea of exhaustion, it could be a good way to at least hinder the siege trolls. The issue would be to find that perfect balance so commanders can still put down the necessary siege. All in all a very good idea though, and I think three minutes might be a good expiration time.
Infinite time – 66% is still infinite time. I say boot EoTM, make it public testing ground for new maps, patch up some easy stuff, let the karma trains ravage it for a month to check for bugs, and then let it slip into real WvW. Rinse and repeat.
I think it’s great. Pve-people get in, get to try WvW, and they don’t bother us people playing WvW.
Of course, it would be great to get some more achievement points out of the WvW tournament. But, that need to be implemented in a way that the PvE-crowd don’t “have” to do them.
It’s a good idea, but requires actually dev-time, so it will likely never happen.
I’ve actually got killed by the siege bug a few times, and while endless banner wars can be fun now and then, this is a very welcome update
As of now:
No bannering of lord.
No more dead scouts/mesmers.
No more stuck in siege.
Honestly, this should have received a place in the pr for the feature pack. Good work!
I’m rank ~370 and i’ve never seen any commander use the attack/defend/rally icon, and wasn’t aware they even existed. Is there any in-game info these tags exists? Because they sure as f are useful.
The archer spawn system might actually be a good idea. Put some sorts of barracks, and when swords are triggered, spew out some archer npc!

Better late than never, good work!
Holy all of my what. Great work, and much appreciated John!
Do you think they’ll announce that they fixed the rewards from season 1? ^^
It’s a wonder this thread has made it through the recent banhammers.
I propose a “skritt thief” type of thingy (or whatever that skritt that keeps running is called). When you duel with a warrior, and it starts to run away you’ll get one drop of loot for ever hit you manage before it’s too far away (usually takes 3-4 seconds).
I read “soon”, and was truly astonished it actually ment soon! Also, I’ve never owned more than a bit over a 100 gold with 3 lvl 80s, but I’m completely fine with the commander tag costing 300 gold.
This is actually a really great idea.
I’ve said it before, and I will repeat it here. We are aware of the problems with the WvW achievements and will be doing more to address them in the near future. Currently it is more complicated to solve the problems than I would like, which means we need to have a fully comprehensive solution before doing anything.
It was promised to change the WvW achievements for 2013 already, we are soon 8 months into 2014. I guess its save to say you wont change anything

I have to kindly request someone take over running the “ArenaNet PR Doublespeak Translator” application in my absence as I’m likely on my way to another all-expenses payed vacation to the tropical paradise of BANanaville courtesy of our fine friends at ClubAnet. Don’t forget to run the BS scanner once per week. Cheers
P.S. If you like this post, you might want to quote it as it’s likely going to…ehem…disappear very soon.
Love it! I’m guessing this might be my second holiday from the forums, but it’ll be worth it.
The good/interesting thing is that the mods are now simply deleting/closing red necro posts, so soon we’ll risk having no red posts left!
I would say two lines of wvw-fixes is as good as a feature patch, right? And welcome back!
Soon™.
And if not “soon”™, then “working as intended”.
Just realized that my most upvoted post seems to be deleted. They sure are triggerhappy.
So did they fix this?
Hello,

If you feel a player is abusive in-game, please report them using the in-game ticketing system so our Customer Support team can properly investigate the issue and take any appropriate action.
Thank you for your understanding.

There’s been plenty of threads on this, and basically Anet thinks it’s ok.
I got infracted for posting here the last time, but this thread is still relevant and important. I’m guessing it’s the same bug as season 1, so you guys should probably try to keep this thread in focus and up and alive.
Nope, everyone got greens and blues.
WvW has now had it’s share of “development” for this year. We’ll get a new season come fall, maybe with 4/5-days long matchups, and the exact same rewards, and if we’re lucky some living story pve will dump into eb.
where can use dat tickets? T_T
You can’t, they didn’t bother to prepare a merchant for them (in the 9 weeks they had to get it done), so now some intern is working has hard as he can to get it ready in a few days.
(edited by Alvain.7364)
Don’t worry, you won’t be able to use the tickets yet. Actually anet is just saving you bank space! How generous of them!
At least the live stream told us how fantastically well the swiss matchup system worked.
I heard they are upping the rewards in this next “season” thing, so you might get a rare from doing 7-weeks worth of achievments. If you sell it you might be able to repair your gear!
Same here on FSP, as in we occasionally do bad damage on a few attempts, and melts it on others. Do you think it’s related to the eggs?
Hey, this seems to be the first real dev comment since early december here. Perhaps someone will drop and comment on one of the Season 1-threads as well?
