For christmas I’d like to get a crossbow for my characters.
With love, a cute kitty.
You’re closing the discussion to those won’t don’t have the same opinion as you, not sure that’s a really healthy way of using a forum.
“We’re sorry, Jimmy, but unfortunately we couldn’t buy you your new PC for christmas.”
“Aw, it’s okay, I under-”
“As such, we have decided to disassemble the one you have. You get the graphic card this christmas, CPU on your birthday, then the monitor next christmas, then one RAM module on your next birthday, and so on. You’ll be able to play again in a few years. Merry christmas !”
Unfortunately for Jim, he was using four RAM modules.
Jokes aside, this is what it feels like, and I look forward their fix ; I hope they’ll go backwards and instead give us true rewards, although I doubt they will.
Let’s be fair, they can introduce SAB back during a LS event , they just don’t want to.
What is it to you ? Where does that impact your quality of life ? Not being able to boast in front of newer players is not exactly “quality of life”, fyi. I had most of those, I don’t even care if they’re released again.
All of that is just plain elitism. “I have this because I bought the game earlier, you can’t and I don’t want you to have it because you bought it later so you can’t have it”, and that’s IT. You can still use it, it will still be as nice as before. Yep, maybe will you see a bit more, so what, does that matter to you, do your character gets uglier with it ? Wanna get something exclusive ? Buy Chaos of Lyssa, there you go.
Hi,
First I want to say that I’m actually very impressed to have a thread where the devs are really answering without chosing one question out of a hundred, even taking some time off their sunday to do so, and I truly truly hope those threads are to be repeated in the future. You have built a playerbase that really care for the game as even through hate posts, even while they’re staying away for a while, players still look after the game, hoping it will grow more and in the right direction, because they care for it and know that it has a very particular potential. As such, I think listening to the fans is the best thing you can do and would make you a right sight better than the other studios.
Anyways, apologies if the exact same questions have already been answered, in which case feel free not to reply to the concerned questions ; I looked up what I could in the previous page, but it takes a lot of time and the forum search engine is kind of broken. So my questions are :
First, I’m a SAB lover, as many others. It has been pointed to me in other threads that future of SAB was unsure. The point was that it was not fitting the living story, which is not a valid point in my opinion as it could very well be bringed back as a festival or during a festival, or at any point really, people won’t care if it’s not well wrapped in a nice story, they just want to play it. ArenaNet’s hestiation about the subject makes me think World 3 is not a project for the foreseeable future ; is it true ?
Considering it does not, in any way, recquire multiple people to play it at the same time, would it appear to be doable to release it permanently, whether in Rata-Sum whether as an item (personnal instance, inventory, etc. doesn’t matter much) with the currently created worlds (1 & 2 for now and the other later on) and modes ? While disabling the rewards if that’s an issue (or maybe still allow players to gain token in tribulation mode given how hard and long it is especially for world 2 and it can only be used for soulbound stuff as far as I recall, something along the lines), just so players could play it for their own fun atleast?
And last but not least… can you tell us with more certitude than it has been done before what’s planned for SAB ? Even just the big lines. What I’d like to know, basically, is what’s gonna happen with SAB, if you guys plan on bringing it back every X months, during festivals or for it’s own festivals, or whatever I didn’t think of right now and more specifically where’s world 3 at (not started, finished, dead…) and what do you think about releasing it as proposed before a.k.a. as kitten…ble item in Rata-Sum or personnal instance, with only tribulation mode giving tokens for items that are only soulbound and can’t ever be traded for money, and are earned through time and hardship ? (which is just a proposition of course, you can adapt it in may other ways but that one would be, I think, the most satisfactoy and the least annoying to the economic market as there would be no prices drop).
I might also point out that the SAB skins were really, really earned, the few ones you could loot through RNG in normal mode set aside. Especially for world two which should honestly have been splitted in multiple parts for each level given how time consumming that one was (and how one dc due to wifi and whatever else would make you lose all the time invested). Having the time to unlock them properly wouldn’t be a shame, honestly, you can’t collect them just like that, it takes an investment, which is why I think that it would be much more healthy to do something along the lines of what I proposed rather than only release it for a few weeks every year, making it impossible to get all the skins you like, let alone all the skins, especially with more and more worlds. Once more, you can bring it back without having to include it in the LS, people just want to play their favorite (mini)game, they don’t mind it not having anything to do with slaying a dragon, just like they like the other festivals when they’re not included in the LS.
Also, could you explain more precisely what you think is a problem in NPE ?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you even more if you can actually answer some of those questions. I apologize for any mistakes I made as english isn’t my native language.
Have a nice day,
Edit : language filter didn’t appreciate us…ble.
Edit 2 : Oh, also, I feel a bit silly asking a question you’ve probable seen a hundred time, but… it was said early on, before the game was released I believe, that there will be new weapons coming out over time. Is it still a thing or has it been abandonned?, asks the cute kitty from my signature (a.k.a. me).

Yep, now when I kill a mob I need to press C and wait for 2 seconds, how interesting is that.
GW2 at release was magical base-foot-basket-cricket-tennis-golf-snowball. You may not remember or understand that, but it had the potential to be all those things, and it still does. That was the vision, and it would indeed be quite sad if it does not live up to that, because it would make a lot of people happy if it does.
It never really had that potential, because there aren’t enough devs in the world to give it that potential. It doesn’t exist. For one thing making changes to the game for one demographic kittenes off another. So for some people it will never be all things.
There are people who say without open world PvP this game isn’t worth it. It’s not their demographic. That’s it. If they put it it, it wouldn’t be my demographic.
MMO players are very much divided about what they want in an MMO.
ANet stated multiple things. They defined what were their targets. They end up focusing on less and less targets. That’s the problem. If they couldn’t keep up then it was their duty to not advertise for that as much as they did. Since they didn’t it’s our right and duty to be disappointed and to tell them so. It might not have occured to them but their passion is nonexistant without the players. One day people will see GW3, and they’ll think whether “great, I loved gw2 and ANet was such a great compagny and stuff”, whether “another Molyneux in the video games industry”.
Actually most people would totally pay for an add-on if that meant some true change. If that means that their targetted audience would be satisfied, then what’s 40€/$ or bit more ? The playerbase like their philosophy as long as they can hold to it, once they start disappointing it’s just a vicious circle, they’ll get less and less and do less and less. GW2 / ANet was the game/compagny that kept our expectations really high, and it could have been that : the reason it wasn’t the case is that ANet screwed like COMPLETELY season 1 of LS and waster a whole year, they made a super-grindy game when they said “no grinding”, they didn’t care about sPvP or WvW much, they based the endgame mostly on alts while screwing low levels with traits coming up at sloth speed, & such. They avoided making too many promises yet they made so many empty ones. They made mistakes and players told them countless times that they were screwing up. Now it’s their problem, whether they fix it (which they won’t do since they’re gonna focus on a story basically written by a two years old this year apparently) whether it’ll just get worse and worse. I love the game, yet I feel like something is wrong so much I’m writing a hate post on the forum of the game I love. Like so many others I just want it to live up to the expectations, yet…
Rather than removing the conditions of that type I think it would be better if every condition over the cap was converted into direct damage that scales based off condition damage.
Probably the best idea. Some classes may hit the 25 stacks cap alone sometimes, so a burst damage of all that’s left seems kind of bad for general PvE (aka weaker mobs would get downed in two seconds). But if they can’t get raise the bleed cap, which seems weird since some other MMO don’t have problems about that but who am I to tell, then atleast do something like that. Conditions builds are a HUGE part of DD builds, you have multiple traits and stats related to it, making it useless shouldn’t be alright.
Besides I don’t get why conditions don’t work on structures neither. Alright a bleeding door is stupid, but it makes the game more balanced so who would care ? And don’t tell me we do’nt care cause it’s PvE, it’s extremely frustrating to take 20 seconds to destroy something that is destroyed in three secondes by a powerbuild (well perhaps not 20 but you get my point), and it also affects WvW.

I’m sorry, but all I’m hearing is “it’s too hard”.
Maybe you should work on your reading skills then. Denying his arguments without properly answering to them is of no interest.
“You must not understand the implications to what a “private map” would do. The whole reason for the private map or shard is to exclude players. "
You must not understand what “open world” means in ANet mouth, as they already explained their thinking.
Things lacking are basically a queue for joining / a guide (events shown on whole map, indicating number of people at the event, etc.). There is none of that. The event is not hard, it’s made hard. Completing it without proper tools and with tools so we could actually do something productive without needing a freaking teamspeak would be day and night. Plus it’s boring aswell since it requires you to complete it again and again for the rewards and the events in themselves are not quite fascinating.
But all you’ll read is it’s too hard
We were living just fine at the start of the game.
Until the Achievement Points Nation attacked.
One day ArenaNet will stop allowing us to see other people’s AP and we can end this toxic war, I believe.
Right click report for botting GG
This wont help at all. You are probably going to shoot yourself into the leg with that since Anet bans people who massively falsly report other people.
You need to prove that claim (and you can’t). How are you falsely reporting if someone is standing still for 10 minutes after hitting the boss 5 times?
Yes you can, it is written when you report them, take some time to read. It is also written they’re taking chat logs into account and not unsubstantiated player reports. So yeah, report em if you want, get yourself a ban.
Whether you like it or not, people can go afk, and they will given how boring the event gets. Because it is their right, and banning them from a game in which they probably have invested a crazy amount of hours and some money because they were “afk at an event” is just plainly stupid. Yeah, they might make the event fail sometimes, does it give you ANY right ? It does not. 6 players can just be bad turreters and make Tequatl fail. Yet you don’t have, by ANY means, the right to report them. I don’t think you realize that banning someone because he “akitten and made me have 8 bags instead of 10”, thus wasting 50 €/$/whatever + hundreds/thousands of hours played + gems bought perhaps is like ultra childish. And I don’t think you realize that there are people paid to review all those reports and that spamming them greatly reduce their QoL at work just because they have to go through so much stupid reports.
Yeah, I don’t like getting afk, I don’t like uplevled on these events, but you know what ? In the end, I don’t. I just don’t. Care. Okay, I’ll have to find another one, and then ? It’s not even rare, only thing missing is the queue function to join another server. In no ways would I report someone who’s going afk, I don’t even care if they make me get silver instead of gold, really, 2 bags, what is it to you, is it worth more than what the person invested ?
Let that be a teaching to ANet, make a queue to join servers so it’s not that annoying, create living bosses and not bosses that get boring ultra quickly (but still reward so much that everyone wants it’s piece of the cake and everyone will do it by the most simple way). I’m so fed up with all the rage in mapchat, feel like I’m playing on some teletubies wars or LoL or I don’t know what, where everyone is a toddler and babbles its rage.
Actually they should allow us to hide everything but the boons/heals/current combo starter on the ground, or something…
Eh, we paid 100 golds for that (100 bags of t6 for our hundred laurels spent on the tonic). I’d agree that we should, as with other tonics, be able to be transformed for an unlimited amount of time. They already have day long buff, then why can’t they just do that too ?
No items in skillbar, random transformations, and everything, we would deserve to get that even more than other tonics. Combat tonics too. I seriously must miss ANet’s point with those things, they CAN make it avaible for forever, they just chose to put annoying limits on it for little to no reason.

It may not be Pay to Win, but it is opportunistic.
If the game started you with 1 character slot and a bank tab with 10 slots, and then sold bank tabs at 600 gems each, it still wouldn’t be Pay to Win. But you’d have to wonder if the conditions were deliberately made so severe to encourage players to pay for quality of life items.
It’s the same thing here. Sure the content is optional. The item may not be Pay to Win. But it does affect gameplay. And that is a slippery slope.
^this. I bought the coin and still think like that, I paid for an easy TM. Not that I coudln’t complete it without it, but it would just takes too much time tryharding to not die (as I do not follow guides since it’s absolutely no fun). With the IC I do enjoy some parts of TM, mainly the second times I do the zones. The problem is here, imo, I paid to have fun, otherwise I would just miss 3/4 of the event.
Well at worse they can introduce Scarletta, Scarlet and Mordremoth’s daughter, who will be an annoying kittykitten during one living story season and will create a flower dragon so we can play another season. That’s two years and they can hire the writer that made the LS season 1 for just a few bucks I expect so it’s pretty cheap compared to an actual one. See, they have plenty of ressources to go on if they run out of inspiration !
Every player isn’t even aware of language filter yet, and it’s, as I recall, automatically checked, so that’s even worse.
1) Fix communications issues. Color bosses icons se we can see the ongoing scaling or something like that, introduce some shiny mapwide pings, make us be able to see how much health a boss has and how many people are there, I don’t know, there’s just so much to work on since you barely improved this side while making the bosses recquire more, and you made it so much worse for EU just a month ago.
2) Get the arenas out of there. People doing them shouldn’t take space for the blitz, otherwise it’s just plain kittened. Make it instanced so we can go to another world with our group if we want to, still getting the “spectator” side of it without the waiting, or just another area, and it’s fine.
3) Forbid commander tags. People ARE going to follow them, yes this is not how it should be done but they WILL and you know it, everyone does, no matter how wrong it is they’re going for what they’re used to. Because that’s what we’ve been doing from the start, isnt it? Take commanders as the big meeting point where the farming is best, where the zerg is the most popular, all of that is just fine, just don’t bring it here. Yes, peple should realize this is stupid, but we have two to four weeks to do that, and people WON’T realize, or on the latest part, and ANet should have seen that coming since the event is okay with either 0 commanders or either 6.
4) Teach players, since we can’t do it. Guide them. I don’t know… I know how to do it, none of the servers I’ve been on knows though, so I can’t do it, if I explain, maybe 1/4 of the servers will see the messages, maybe 1/16 will listen, maybe 1/32 will understand or trust me.
From the start of the game we’ve been zerging. You can introduce things that are not zerging, it’s perfectly fine, it’s pretty cool. But give us the tools and teach players the correct way now you’ve teached them the wrong way. Or penalize both the smart ones that get frustrated for being able to do it only with a big guild or with a lucky guess on a server, and the sheep ones or those who were not teached how to do it that will get bored and go back to other things.

Every third patches, so every 3 months, well I’d be so glad if that was the case but not really sure they would do that unless an expansion comes out. Though I approve the “pushing towards the final destination” thing, just hoping to see ennemies a bit more interesting that the Risen were.
Starting to wonder, does ANet have any clue on what to do or are they just playing piñata with their game?
Like really, that interview is a f.ing blow to me. All you have to do is let players play. Even just W1/W2, even with no rewards / harder to get, just ENABLE it, for God’s sake. It’s not even like a minigame, you absollutely don’t need other people, you don’t have to enable it 1 week on 52 so everyone will play it at the same time, just let the huge part of the community that liked it play.
People looked down at living story. Since the start. You didn’t let that go. Good part just loved SAB, yet you just go “screw that”. Well it may seems weird to you, but you’re creating a game for the players to enjoy. At the very least make players that liked it and bought the infinite coin able to play it and use ressources on that later if you want to focus on living story, but stop being so deaf and clueless. I have no idea who’s behind the “How to integrate SAB in the game” thing, but he’s gotta have Alzheimer’s or something because we don’t want it as a living story, we want it like it was before. ANet could be suge a great compagny if they stopped to randomly make changes. As it is it looks to me like they’re playing the RNG game in their studios. Sometimes we get a great update, sometimes they screw up the personnal story. Sometimes they go “we don’t want anymore farmfest for now”, yet the next update is a farmfest. Sometimes they play dumb when they know exactly what the community wants and they know it would take no efforts to put it back and develop it later. Hell, even the weapons, all they take is “which color will I use” and they have a whole new “set” for the SAB, people want that too.
Incredible how people think you want to spend hours “organizing” an event that will most likely fail, which you might not necessarily know at all since you’re not on Deso. Because we all enjoy organizing, we all have fun doing it, there’s no disappointment when you waste hours when it fails… well even when it succeeds.
Tequatl @ release was just bad, not because it was just hard but because only a few could do it. If you guys can try and remember how it was : you needed commanders. Badly. I don’t care if you did it without once, forums were filled up with “omg thiz iz so hardz”, guilds formed to beat Teq, the event needed a lot of organization, plus it was new and what’s new needs to be beaten so the player can learn. So yeah, only a few servs could do it, since not everyone have the time to organize it, not everyone has the skills or the possibility to organize it and not everyone have fun organizing it. For the far majority guesting was the only way they would have fun. Act like a smarta..s all you want, this is the truth you don’t want to face because “they took our jobs and now they take our community, oh my god!!!”.
“Moreover, if you want to kill Tequalt or Wurm you need to camp a map spot at least 1 hour before now (it was same in the old system though). "
1 hour, that was if you were organized. Otherwise it would take much more. I can get to Teq 30 minutes early and still kill it by now (and standing there for hours is no fun).
Home instance is pretty useless right now if you put the nodes apart. Players don’t e ven notice new NPC since there’s no use staying in their instance. So I guess it’d be better with some useful NPC…
I think living world rewards is fine. Many people are doing it, because it’s the only way to get tokens, and it’s only way to get the rewards from the vendor.
Is there any good tokens -> gold stuff to buy? Oh, I guess I should look on the wiki, but if you have first hand knowledge, that would be appreciated.
And AnAspieKitten, that could indeed be the issue. I got there, got on the event, and 45 minutes or so later we’d downed the last boss for a Bronze award and 6 bags. I haven’t been back since.
Yes, there are a lot of issues with the event and I’m the first to admit it as I previously stated on other threads ; however, they’re trying to make the game more skilled and I can’t approve that more than I do, they’re just not giving us enough tool to work better with it. I reckon it will get better with time, as they experience more of those kind of events. Use LFG if you want to get in a good server.
