One thing that (if I recall correctly) emerges from all of this talk in Scarlet’s Prosperity room is that there will be MORE steam creatures – in Maguuma, this time.

I like all of the wahhhmbulancers. Seriously? “Slown down,” “undeserved hype”?

Hype = marketing. Hype = inevitable. Hype = anticipation. Hype = imagination. Hype = good in many, many ways. You know, like, uh, for something you play for entertainment purposes.

People try to figure out what’s coming next season in shows that haven’t had scripts finalized or episodes that have even gone through production. This isn’t exclusive to GW2/ANet, and of course often times over-hyping occurs, but it’s healthy, and makes the actual content all the more exciting in the process.

I just don’t get the forum naysayers; even as a GW1 vet and someone who criticizes, I’m still excited and can’t wait. And that’s more than okay.

Speculation, even the sort that’s blatantly saying “lower your expectations lulz because ur expectations be 2 unrealistic,” are hype. No one but ANet knows what’s going on, no matter how much data-mining is done, so let’s all just “hype” in our ways, be they negative or positive, and see what comes.

See what I did there? I made my own post in this thread obsolete/irrelevant because here I am, harshing your mellow by degrading your hype (or anti-hype if you’d like to call it that). But there I go saying your hype has as much value as those who are hyped in a very different way, whom you’re telling to not be hyped.

I loved this intro video to bits. I’m really hoping that Maguuma opens up in its entirety at the absolute latest by mid-to-late Season 2. Something tells me we’re getting more maps than we’d expect from old ANet…

My only beef is that, having not known the origins of Sorrow’s Furnace (my server) until now… Now I’m a bit bummed. I’m not a fan of Sorrow’s Embrace all too much. Bahaha. :P

I am in LOVE with this suggestion! It’d also be super fitting given the overall climate for gender accommodation in society today (see: Facebook adding non-binary gender options for its users’ profiles, etc.) AND hell, it’s just too practical, creative and useful!!!

I play a male sylvari mesmer, but I try my best to somewhat toy with his physical gender. He looks really good in lilacs, but I’ve always wanted some of the crop-tops and such to expose his midriff, and… Really, this just opens up so many more customizable options, it should truly be implemented.

Just read this whole thread through. I definitely see an unquestionable link between Anise and Livia, whatever the exact situation may be! Awesome connecting the dots, btw. I love this level of thinking. Wish there was some way for this to be actively thought out/pursued in-game…

Anyway, regarding the Fountain of Truth: It looks like the Fountain of Truth is used by those administering the Test of the Chosen… White Mantle stuff… So I’d say it holds a possibility in that sense as a trophy of victory (and because of its powers ofc), but otherwise it’s not the Fountain of Truth because there’d be no valid explanation for it being there plot-wise.

And Drax – although we shouldn’t necessarily be paying attention to commoners’ dialogue (although to hell with that – I don’t get why not!), I’d definitely say that there’s a difference between being a history buff with an expertise and being just plain old someone in a covert-ops military unit that might by default be expected to have extensive Ancient Kryta knowledge… No, I definitely think this gossip is a valid clue in many a way, and is meant to further distinguish the Countess from her peers.

I believe the issues to this event has really little to do with champ trains, and more to do with the inability of large random numbers of people to work together, limited tools to do so, conflicting goals(some are simply trying to get achievements and don’t care about gold), and some of the megaservers being underpopulated being a recent one.

I don’t want things to be nerfed, and I think the rewards are fine, all I would like is better coordination tools/features.

I’d love it if ANet provided us better coordination tools/features. I don’t know what those would look like, personally (more map marker capabilities? rethinking event design for multi-boss set-ups like Crown Pavilion so that each “arena” of each boss can only be entered by organized groups – say, 3-5 parties, 5 people each?), but I think that if they step back and realize we need organizational tools ingrained in the game mechanics for something of this scale to be successful for more than just a fringe group, then we’d rock events like this out of the world – and not only to our own benefit, but to the success of their player engagement, to their pockets, to their bottom line.

If they catered to us, rather than saw us as the consumer of the 20th Century, then there’d be true player engagement and it’d make them distinguished from a bunch of tired MMO makers employing the same tried-and-true tactics of monetization.

I really love this! As a casual GW2er who’s been a mesmer for a little over a year now, there’s so much awesome in this guide for any mesmer of any skill level.

I’m a little curious, though: what might be a more universal/worthwhile sigil to invest in instead of Night? And/or how practical would it be to just always have? Is the idea here to swap for another set of weaps with other sigils for the day?

I’m super interested in pursuing full reflects after reading this. There seems to be a huge need for them in PUGs anymore.
