If you force yourself to sit on GW2, you’ll inevitably burn yourself out and you’ll find even more things to nitpick about it. So take a break ^.^ <3
No, that’s the whole point of an MMORPG.
It should be like a virtual life for you.
LOL, my favorite thing about the “80 things to do at level 80” is
“Make another character to experience a new race / play style”
LOL
Roughly translated to “Start Over Biznatches!”
I have 8 characters in Everquest so what’s so bad about starting a new character?
That you cannot be boosted in this game.
You just can’t be asked to level a new character to level 80, when it takes so long.
The leveling in this game is so fast it’s ridiculous.

When you start leveling an alt shortly after hitting maxlevel something is very very wrong with the endgame.
Anet even said that this is a drop in and play type of game, it’s not designed to occupy your whole playing life.
So it is not even a real RPG then?
What’s a “real” RPG?
Character progression.
Repetition.
Creativity.
Dedication to your main.
My ideal MMORPG would be like this:
Fantasy setting.
Very slow leveling curve.
Complexity like EvE Online.
Sandboxy like SWG.
Only one character allowed.
Trinity.
Semi permadeath.
Distinct classes with a set role.
Racial bonuses suchkitten damage for orcs etc.
Longevity.
They could just turn all skill challenges into “commune with place of power” orbs until they fix it permanently.

Could we please get rid of that *i don´t like what he says so he´s a fanboy * nonsense?
Sure, if the people that are critical wont get called pandas.
@Kailthir.6384
In no way do i support lazy “gamers” that wont even try to make their own gold but with the goldsinks being everywhere in this game i understand why this is happening.
Do an event and you get 1s (Until the diminishing returns…)
Take a waypoint from a main city to Orr = 1s – 3s
Get defeated in PvE or WvW = Repair cost AND waypoint
And that is only the things you do somewhat regularly not counting skillbooks, armor upgrades and so on.
That 80 items could be merged into a 9 or 10 list lol
Bottom line: trying to justify the lack on in-depth content and replayability with a meaningless list with “goals”…
Saddening.
As i said in the other thread where he posted that list.
Those kinds of list started popping up shortly before SWTOR began losing it’s playerbase.
The fanboys use them to feel that their 5 years of hype were valid.
Good thing that event is bugged on my server.
Most likely posted before, but I don’t see it anywhere.

Fix’d.
That list is garbage. It’s the worst list I’ve ever seen. It reads like a deluded fanboy trying way too hard. People should be embarrassed to refer to it.

I removed the useless fluff and this is what remains.
No need to thank me.
This is the most antisocial MMO"RPG" i have ever played (Even SWTOR with it’s massive 10 people online was more social).
@Sin.8174
In your opinion he should resort to doublespeak just to please your imagination that people that use certain words are hipsters?
@Sin.8174
Why should he make up new words if his current ones gets his point across just fine?
>>Birdy.4816
The amusing part is that i was just making fun of the super fanboys that refuse to see that there are bugs and problems that needs to be fixed.
But are you having fun?
Who cares about getting 100% so early in the game, just sit back and watch the surroundings. Don’t rush everything.
I support this suggestion.
There are already a lot of money sinks in the game.
@Caedmon.6798
I do use a razer naga and it is the worst mouse i have ever owned. Their software wont even detect that i have it plugged in after several software updates and different driver versions.
Try to quickly turn your camera ingame and release it, then you will notice that it continue to move instead of stopping instantly.
i got a 7 day free game time a week or so ago and decided to log in for the first time since early Cataclysm and see if anyone i know were still playing, i was shocked to see that Ironforge was a total ghost town and Stormwind weren’t much better. They have also removed the talent trees and turned them into a bad copy of GW2.
I put on some nice gear on my character and took a final screenshot.
I will miss the fun days of Kara and Ulduar but the game i used to love is dead.
I will not return.

You need to pay 100g in order to form a raid group and from what i have seen it’s mainly WvW guilds that got it.
By the way, speaking of camera issues…
Are you planning to implement a Field of View option and allow further camera zoom?
For some strange reason they decided to block the dungeon from being accessible if a certain event in the area have not yet been finished.
The related event chain is sometimes bugged.
The camera in GW2 feels very floating and unresponsive. It also acts as if it was a physical object in the game world for some reason thus causing it to get stuck and zoom in and out every now and then.
@Bloodtau.4672
That worked well for SWTOR.
How can people say that it makes more sense for a heavy plate armor soldier to run around with a little wand than a real ranged weapon?
I agree, and give us a keybind for toggling sound on and off so we dont have to dig through the option screen every time.
They should just give us that ability once we have 100% map completion.
Ah love to see the close mindedness of wow seeping into gw2
But in WoW it made sense for some of the harder content, this is just insane.
Warriors actually using rend?
What the hell did blizzard do to the WoW i used to play?
Seriously guys…
@Chii.2814
Imagine a knight in shining silver armor carrying an inscribed ivory longbow and shooting arrows of pure light.
Client version number.
You are clicking and keyboard turning, that makes it almost impossible for you to kite.
Just put some blue flames on them and they become guardians.
My point is that you don’t have to wear leather and leaf clothes to use ranged weapons.
Let me be a healer.
For all those who say a longbow wouldnt fit with the soldier/paladin feel of the guardian i found some pictures of heavily armored fantasy archers.

But is it difficult in a good way?
I have not played WoW in a long time but i remember that the Ulduar raid had some very challenging hardmode encounters that were so much more than just “boss is charging up for a big attack, time to dodge roll!”.
The “trinity haters” are actually the ones enjoying the game the way it was made and is supposed to work.
The “trinity lovers” are the ones trying to change the world to fit their expectations.. Sorry it won’t happen. See you and your panda anytime…
HURR DURR!
If it’s different than WoW it must be great!
Seriously, if you can not handle a discussion about game mechanics and ways to improve them then please do not reply to the thread.
But a better tactic really is ping pong agro. Thief takes agro until the thing gets in close or hurts the thief, then he stealth’s. Monster now targets the elly, then a guardian comes in to drag him away from the elly, and while the monster is attacking the guardian, the thief unloads on him. This really is an inelegant but also inteligant way to have agro. IMO it makes the hate system insanely stupid…’hey I can hit skill 2 and everything attacks me, YAY.’ Really?
Yeah I never understood why certain games NPC AI would target the lowest damage dealing character just because they were in it’s face instead of the one that was dealing huge amounts of hurt, in any sane environment, it would go for that huge damage to negate it and get the total damage reduced, then the next etc.
Fantasy RPG.
Do not looks for logic in it.
The important thing is if the game mechanics allow for a fun and challenging endgame with tactics and strategies.
At the moment it’s just a zerg rush and you better hope that you dodge at the right time since the mob is surrounded by particle effects and you cant see if you actually need to dodge or not.
MMO’s use the trinity because it’s easy to design around.
Indeed and thus the result of the encounters are often pretty good.
There is more to do than going from heart to heart to level up.
Looking at Leveling Curve, a Journey Through Guild Wars 2.

I kinda remember A.Net mentioning that they do in fact want everyone to be viable in every situation. This is why the trinity is gone.
Giving guardians a viable ranged weapon hardly means that all classes should be the same. It simply means that guardians would have a viable ranged weapon.
Who’s to say that it wouldn’t fit in with the rest of the guardian?
It would probably end up with a fair amount of support skills on it.Limiting classes to a certain range in a game like this is simply bad.
If you honestly think that i should have less fun in WvW because of my class choice then i don’t know what to tell you.You chose the Guardian to use a longbow?
Yes, is that a problem?
For God’s sake, please stop asking for core mechanics to change. The no trinity thing is here to stay.
That being said, what they do have to do is to fine tune the fights to better accommodate the reality of this game. The word “chaotic” will always be somewhat of a constant here, although organized groups can reduce it considerably.
The no trinity experiment was a failure.
They can still fix it and add some real endgame raids.Nope, the player base has failed because it cannot grasp the fact that you cannot have one person for some reason, able to hold the Enemies attention, while you stand around smashing your rotation. Happy to say, it’s not going to happen, and really, there is no need. If you feel the need for the HT, I can list off a good 30+ MMOs that have such a thing.
And those 30+ MMOs have it just for lulz? Maybe they have it because it actually works!
The trinity haters are starting to feel like hipsters who don’t care that their new system is flawed as long as it is different from other MMOs.
I’ll say it once again: Rifles!
Or just change the Scepter.@Shimond: What is it about Guardians that should prevent them from being viable at range?
Longbow feels more fitting to a guardian than a rifle and the scepter is traumatic to even think about so do not change it, just remove it and let us forget that it ever existed.
(Before reading the following I feel it necessary to state that I am not insane or making a threat on your life)
Take my scepter and I’ll KILL YOU ALL!!! In game of course. Just wanted to say I love the scepter in both pve and pvp.
The problem is that the autoattack is extremely slow thus making it into a semi melee weapon and the staff fills that role much better with it’s AoE autoattack.
The number 2 ability is pretty nice and the number 3 feels useless when fighting in WvW.
For God’s sake, please stop asking for core mechanics to change. The no trinity thing is here to stay.
