Continue coins are incredibly easy to get. There’s no difference between having an infinite coin and farming the regular ones. Quit making it out to be that there is one.

And yet everyone who’s gotten through it has used the infinite coin… strange huh?

And where did you get this information from? Being able to see if every person who completed TM used an infinity coin is quite amazing and i would like to see your sources.

People who play games need to start growing up.

And while you are at it get a job and start wearing suits!

Seriously, games are for fun and you have to be a child at heart to enjoy them. This is a game not a job, people play it to mess around, relax and have fun.

Now to the rest, not everyone’s definition of fun is the same. Hard does not equal enjoyable or good content. You want it hard then do things like Tribulation and Liadri, if you found them too easy then perhaps Guild Wars II is not the game for you.

Remeber Guild Wars II was sold on the idea of being -casual friendly-, not ultra hard super elite MLG gameplay. If you bought the game to be tested to your utmost limits, then perhaps you got the wrong game?

Yes, the problem is when they go and nerf the Tribulation Mode like they just did.

Yeah, because adding three check points across two zones is such a major nerf. I even deleted all my TM rewards because now they are worthless. /sarcasm

Or maybe you could do some research before posting and notice that all the nerfs they did to Normal mode also carried over to the Tribulation mode.

Those weren’t nerfs, those were fixes. Those flowers were broke as hell as were many other things. And NONE of that makes TM significantly easier.

Yes they do and there was nothing wrong with the flowers the only minor problem was that the river was too punishing for normal mode, and it did deserve a nerf but everything was completely fine for TM difficulty. On top of that they made some harder jumps easier and more!

No those flowers were garbage. They would throw you off cliffs and sometimes not even activate properly. And if those harder jumps you’re talking about are the water spouts, those weren’t hard to begin with if you had a little patience and timing.

Flowers weren’t garbage, but facing the right direction is too hard for your average player so yes, they should be removed from NORMAL mode but they were just fine on TM. The jumps they made easier are also on Zone 3 and in my opinion being patient and having timing is a lot harder than just like… running through it don’t you think?

I also want to thank Josh and the other devs from the bottom of my heart. Honestly, I don’t care about the difficulty but the fact that they managed to get so much kitten out of people by only adding 3 checkpoints to TM is incredible. I’m seriously laughing my kitten off right now at all the whining I’m seeing. 3 freaking check points and everyone pitches a fit. Unreal.

All the changes made to Normal mode also carried over to the Tribulation mode, that’s the biggest problem, not the checkpoints.

People don’t get it, the trib mode is supposed to be the “hardmode”, it is supposed to be hard. Stop whining if you can’t make it. You simply don’t deserve it in this case.

No one is complaining about Tribulation mode, if you read some of the posts you would realizse. This topic was all about Normal mode only. Everyone was fine with Tribulation mode.

I’m cool with them nerfing some stuff, such as very high jumps, almost impossible race unfriendly jump spots etc (the very very very small spots or ledges), long as they dont remove any of the traps pitfalls monsters etc.

(Josh foreman also tells people on some walkthrough vids, great job on the runs but some spots he watched them do he planned on fixing, Like one vid was a guy cakewalking the end of zone 1 so easily it was funny so definitly that needed fixed so you cant say the fixes made it easy when he wants trib to be hard hard hard)

But its exactly the high jumps, race spots, etc that make SAB trib challenging. Traps, pitfalls, etc only test your memory.

Exactly, landing those very hard jumps is very satisfying and the very definition of hard.

Didn’t realise they made the content just for you.

Tribulation Mode is a grueling difficulty intended for hardcore gamers and serves as a torture platformer in the same vain as I Wanna Be The Guy and Kaizo Mario. Torture platformers has been cited as a direct inspiration for the mode. - Quote from GW2’s Wiki

I am fully aware that GW2 is roaming with achievement hunters, who doesn’t want to miss out on a a lot of achievements, or perhaps the rare weapons. But the truth is, this gamemode was made to take SAB to the next level… We already had Easy Mode and Normal Mode…. Now we have Hard Mode, and some people just have to accept that Hard Mode is not ment for them.

I think it is wrong to make it easier if some people were able to complete it. The purpose was to make it hard, and if it was too hard… Then they can have that in mind when making World 3.

I myself haven’t tried tribulation mode yet, and I don’t think I will end up completing it as I would probably get too frustrated.

To cut it short: I think that the people who managed to complete it as it was intended should have it for themselves, however if it was errors and bugs causing it to be too hard, then I understand why the changed it.

YES! Someone gets it! If you advertise something as hard content and if someone manages to beat it you don’t go and nerf the content because it will devalue the accomplishment of the people who did manage to do it. Instead, you go and make the next version a little bit easier if you truly did think that it was too difficult.

WTF is a “Casual” anyhow? I take it as someone who plays maybe 4 hours a week, has no time for lengthy achievements, and plays for an hour to just relax and not expect any skill to be involved because they have none in video games. They don’t do dungeons, events, or much else. Is that it? Because based on the forums – that’s the opinion I’ve gotten.

… and I’ve met all of four players like that. The rest seem to fall into Average or Hardcore.

Trust there are waaaaayyy more than four of them, they are just never online for you to see them. (And then they get mad when they cannot complete something in the 25 minutes of playtime they have per day, if even that.)

Impossible.

You know what they could have done to begin with.

Make a mode that’s easy enough that everyone is able to do it, let’s call this “Normal Mode”. Then, made a mode that is so hard almost nobody can do it, and everyone who can has bought the infinite coin, let’s call this one “Tribulation Mode”.

Maybe that would work.

Both sides could be happy if there just was an original version of TM, and the “new” Normal mode.

That still wouldn’t make every side happy, though. There are people who liked the old difficulty for normal mode, as well. Understand that TM and normal mode are inherently different in terms of playstyle and difficulty. Some people enjoy the ‘traditional’ difficulty presented by normal mode more than what TM offers. Now they’re sad because normal mode is easier, regardless of how TM was changed.

And that’s my point. Everyone is always going to have something they want changed so that SAB better fits their personal fantasy… but instead of demanding such changes, can’t we just accept that SAB is never going to be a perfect representation of every individual player’s unique desires? There’s still plenty about it that people can and do enjoy… so just cherish the positive aspects! Focus on the ways in which it does live up to and satisfy your personal desires, rather than the ways in which it doesn’t.

If people did that all the time and never complained about anything the world would be a horrible place. Sometimes you just need to complain to make things better, it’s sad but true. Making TM be as it was before and Normal mode as it is now wouldn’t make every single player happy but it would surely make a lot more people happy compared to leaving it as it is now and we should express that feeling so that the developers can know it. Granted we are being annoying, childish and whatnot about it but sometimes you just have to.

This is absolutely not one of those times you have to be annoying and childish. Not even close.

Furthermore, I’m not saying never offer criticism, but at the very least do it in a fair and respectful way. So many people on the forum are saying that SAB needs to change to fit their desires, among other unfair absolutes, though, and that’s what I think is harsh/unnecessary.

Just acting based on my past experience of MMOs. The loudest and whiniest side usually gets their way, while the people who post long and well thought posts of criticism don’t even get a “Thanks for you opinion.”

We all take our sides, and we all want things to go our way, but even so… all these complaints are just completely unfair to Josh.

He’s extremely passionate about his creation, and the incessant whining from both camps (“Too hard!” vs. “Too easy!”) has to be beyond draining for him. Surely people must know what it’s like to create something you think is really neat and awesome, only to have it be met with waves of dissatisfaction and demands for change. He has demonstrated a profound ability to take it all in stride, thus far, but even so, it has to be tough for him.

While much of the criticism may be useful, the attitude a lot of people have with their complaints is just frustrating. Josh has his own vision here, and I think it’s both absurdly selfish and completely unfair for people to say “it has to be easier,” or “this is such a failure compared to original SAB,” or “what a blatant cash-grab,” or “stop ruining the integrity of SAB by catering to casuals,” or whatever other judgmental absolutes they’re coming up with.

It’s obvious that most of the people here love the concept of SAB, so why do we constantly have to complain about its flaws instead of cherishing the positive? All of us are going to have different problems with it, but if we all like the idea of it as a whole, can’t we just be a little nicer and more accepting of what it is? Take the good with the bad? I mean, I’d love to see the difficulty (even in normal mode) maintained and ramped up even further, but I understand that’s a minority viewpoint and unfair for the people who can’t handle said difficulty. I still love SAB and what it represents, so why do I need to rudely make demands for something better?

It’s a passionate project from an amazing developer. Don’t blunt that passion by complaining every time Josh makes a change that you are not happy with or does something that fails to appeal to your specific fantasy and desire.

Both sides could be happy if there just was an original version of TM, and the “new” Normal mode.

It is most likely not possible to change the engine mechanics and limit it to a single mode of play.
It may be something they look to address in the next day but they could easily take the stance to simply make 98% of their players happier and leave the other 2% that has already done it, to simple live with it.

My guess is that it is possible but it would increase the patch size a lot because you would need to make two “maps” instead of using the same one for both modes.

I really despise the “filthy casuals” and “crying noobs” bullkitten going around. Maybe if a group of entitled, whiny players had ruined TM on purpose to purposely take that content away and purposely get the same special rewards without the skill but that’s not what happened – a hotfix was applied to smooth the edges of a mode meant for 90% of the playerbase, making it still challenging but reducing the frustration factor. A side effect was some of these fixes affected TM, which no one was advocating, which no one wanted, and which came as a surprise. NM players still can’t get TM skins unless they play TM – your holy cosmetic grail of awesomeness is still awesome and still something a player like me can never get.

Sure you can, just go to TM and walk through it. It is quite easy now.
Honestly though, i think we “whiners” and you “filthy casuals” can agree that Normal Mode nerf was fine but they should have left TM alone.

You can DEFINITELY finish World 1 by yourself. Please try it. It’s a ton of fun.

World 2, I would definitely wait till they tone down the difficulty.

I won’t. It clearly states ‘Suggested: 5 Players’ and I don’t group.

It’s just a standard instance message and that’s the only reason why you are seeing it! You can EASILY solo all of the world and zones, just give it a try!

No. If they want me to run SAB, they need to make it a solo instance and not a 5 man dungeon.

I don’t get it… It’s a solo instance AND a 5 man dungeon. The only reason why it says the five man text is because it uses the same tech for making the instance as five man dungeons does, other than that it is completely balanced around doing it solo. They cannot change what the text says when you enter SAB without affecting the text on other, real 5 man instances.

Is it just me or is it kind of odd that one of the most popular things in GW2 isn’t really GW2 but a 80’s throwback platform game placed inside of GW2?

Well it is one of the few even mildly challenging things in this game so far. ( Liadri and maybe fractals 48+ are the only other things.)

This content is challenging for all the wrong reasons, is what most people are having a problem with.

There’s only three legitimately “wrong” reasons:
1. Hard to see circles. (This can be fixed by adjusting your monitor settings but still a bad technical error.)
2. Round edges of the arena screwing with your camera angle
3. “Lag” caused by zergs. (Because changing arena to one at the opposite side is so hard.)

If you are going to cry about one hit abilities or something then i’m sorry to burst your bubble but you are just bad.

quote where I complained about one hit ability?

Note the “If you are going to…” part. It does not imply that you did something and i only gave it as an example because that seems to be one of the biggest thing that people who dislike this fight complain about.

Personally I don’t care about the 1 hit ability rain or shadows,I like them. My issue is with liandri’s high hp, time limit, clunky camera, circles that are barely visible, lag(obviously when 70 people are farming in the same tiny map), time wasted to run there, repair needed after every fight which adds up.

Her HP isn’t really that high. I was able to do her easily with my clerics geared engineer and guardian.. Time limit has to be there for various reasons.
Waypoint being too far away, hardly visible AOE and camera are the only valid concerns here and in my opinion they are quite minor at that.
Even tho having to run all the way from the waypoint is annoying you should try to grab a guildie or a friend to do the Gauntlet with you and he will be there to ress you. Repair fee is a good thing.
If you are lagging it is most likely caused by your old computer or bad internet connection and you should not be expecting to beat the harder content of this game on a toaster.

Summary of what you just said: ‘’I finishing it therefore anyone else pointing mistakes just QQ for the sake of it’’. Now thanks to players like you arenanet will continue to release buggy and glitchy content until all the casuals/average players leave and until they have to close the game because most of the hardcore players do not have any reason to buy gems since they already farmed/played the TP and the game will bring no income.

If you honestly believe anything that you said just now i recommend that you seek professional help.

It’s a fact. The biggest diamond buyers are casuals/average players. If those players leave, there won’t be anymore income coming in which means loss of money.

So, you are saying that because there’s one boss in the game which your average casual player cannot beat he will quit the game and never play it again? Even when that boss is a very minor part of that patch?

You almost got them all:
- Poorly thought out optimizations of putting an arena needing absolute responsive controls above very intensive events.
- Camera issues with taller characters like norn, and the general issue.
- Orbs unable to be attacked by ranged damage, making the fight harder than intended for ranged weapons.
- Hard to see AoE with unnoticeable animations above the character.
- Unnecessary queue, die, runback mechanic crippled with a ticket system that doesn’t belong there in the first place.

So your real problem is with where the fight takes place and how you access it?

Exactly, it is completely unfair to anyone who doesn’t have money saved up, or 8 alts, or has a bad comp.

I can’t beat her on my iPhone 4 so she should be nerfed.
