When First I saw him soldier with rifle on his shoulder, there wasn’t no one bolder and when he’d march he have his boys align’d one and all.
And when he went to brothel, the pretty girls they’d wave at him, they’d call each one of them for Kenny-riah.
Beat upon the big drum and clash upon the symbols, we’re roll’n all around with captain kenny ol’ and do’ there are no beers we will still raise our cheers for the man we all know as Kenny riah.
Than when we got the call and swiftly we set out, the girls all turned out for Kenny riah. So he’d give them all his cheers to the pretty little dears, that sly fox that Kenny riah.
Beat upon the big drum and clash upon the symbols, we’re roll’n all around with captain kenny ol’ and do’ there are no beers we will still raise our cheers for the man we all know as Kenny riah.
Than we Marched on Wendon’s step and we met the inquest scum, and made them crazy roll’n down the Brisbane whole. And marched and took the bull, and we took the Ball’a’hzzer and we did all because of Kenny Riah.

And than the fight was done, from the vandals we set out. We set to roll’n back home with our arms all on, and what we left behind was a warning to the little’vermin, We taught them to respect the Krytan soldier.
[ Song “roll with kenny riah” penned by Corporal Walls of The 23rd regiment of foot under Captain riah. Fall of 1356 ( 26 years from where the current Guild wars game is happening). It would become a common drinking song for a generation.]

" Merchant in the arch"
A photo taken During the First dragon war of a ordinary merchant in the slums of Lion’s arch.
Messing about in photo shop. Playing with screen shots to create old-timey effects. The technology in Guild-Wars 2 seems to be at a mid-19th century level in terms of distribution and quality of living, So I had imagined Photos take from " The first dragons war" to look similar to photos taken from the American Civil War era.
The first: " Elementalist from kryta"
Second: " Watching her world on fire"

Let the masses farm resource nodes from a mobile app, we’ll lose our jobs in no time!
???
This thread is speculative and for speculative purposes only
Premise: What would it look like if Anet chose to supplement or expand on the existing GuildWars 2 MMO with a mobile app? This thread will explore two options for what that might look like; than comb through them from gamer stand point.
Case 1:
Examining the rapid fire success of “Pok’e’mon go” Case 1 would seek to adpat a basic idea to supplement Guildwars 2. In this case, it is done by re-imagining resource harvesting in Guildwars, adopting it to a “go” style mobile app that encourages physical movement in order to gather wood, metal and plant materials for use in game.
Case 1 would be a simplified idea of the system, sticking to simple principle of awarding physical exercise with in-game content. The app could work by tracking walking movement and generating daily reward chests at “mile markers” or randomly generate them like nodes. Resource gathering would be done at nodes which generate with a similar logic to how “stops” are aligned; indeed Ingress and Pokemon have done a good bit of refining this system already and will probably continue to do so. An app of this style would be a re-imagining of how resource gathering in a desktop MMO could work.
Case 2:
Case 2 is a lighter weight concept of a mobile app that stands for daily activity with a logic-puzzle based app-game. Taking inspiration from some already pretty well done logic puzzle games, “case 2” would have the gaming intensity of “J.U.L.I.A” and provide a way for engaging players who can’t be at a desktop on a daily basis. Expanding this a bit, simpler elements of movement based app-gaming could be introduced as a daily that simply needs you to move around a little to retrieve pieces of something or another. This stands more as a way to re-imagine the daily system. Introducing a more thoughtful approach with logic puzzles or simply a light-weight way to keep players with more responsibilities engaged in the game while they are away.
Let me Know if you’d be interested in reading a story series on a character like this
There is a legend told from the Thickets on’ down of a Sniper most famed. It is said She moved about the jungle like she was born to it, In those hellish days in those hellish vines she is said to have a thousand kills. Of her rifle it is said to be plain, of her clothes as well, but not one pact man or charr would miss the sight of her. They’d call her Captain, the Norn would call her Olina.. it is said her eyes where a red that burned with rage for the dragon… others said her eyes where the coldest blue. No Mordem saw more than the flash of her rifle and mordermoth once roared for her death by name… but of the many names she earned in the hell of Maguuma the one she would be most known was from an itzel tale of an evil demon who would spirit away any she found carelessly wondering the jungle. They called her:
The Night Witch

" Boss Look out!" Rox shouted helplessly from the other side of a vine cage, The pact commander gave an exhausted roll to the side, dodging the tail of a Morderum champion And immediately another roll forward and another barely jumping out of the way of its spiked tail. Rox is tearing with all her strength at the vines but 2 days of near endless fighting as taken its toll and she could not muster the strength to pull her self free this time. The Commander had become oblivious to Rox’s situation. Her staff was broken, the Scorpion like beast was lashing out with all its might and it took her all of hers to stay ahead of it. Backwards, forwards, to either side… The Commander through her exhausted body from one direction to the other.. even though it seemed as if she more falling like a fool from harms way by luck alone.
The commander and the guild have fought this monster for 2 days with out end.. and the monster too was exhausted.. It strikes too where clumsy and half way aimed. It might have been the romantic recollections of rox later on.. but in that moment there seemed to be a celestial understanding that one of them.. the Morderum or the commander; would break…one of them would…
And before rox’s tired eyes could realize it there was the commander with the broken head of her staff in hand running like mad Charr at the Morderum And than a flash like rox had never seen before.. and than the smell.. and the sound the Morderum made Squealing and thrashing about in pain.. Parts of its vine body where burning in spirals and more opened up. Rox din’t think about what she was seeing at the time, she was too exhausted to think as she fell to the floor on her knees taking in a deep breath as the vines had been near choking her a moment ago. The choking from the thick white smoke of the burning creature was barely better. Rox forced her self to her feet and ran towards the commander, nearly unaware of the ear piercing screams of the dragon spawn still thrashing about on the jungle floor in front of them. She scooped the now unconscious commander into her arms and forced her self to make a stumbling run towards… well she din’t even know towards where.
Only rox, the commander and Braham came.. and Braham was separated from them before the fight began. They had gotten… arrogant they had been brash going into the jungle this time with just the two of them. And the commander helplessly cradled in Rox’s arms was near dead. Rox had made her forced run through the jungle for what seemed like hours, some times nearly collapsing but often stumbling.. It was pure determination and drive that kept her going now.. She was not even conscious of her own severe wounds.. only the forced march. For Rox.. it was like this once before. The moment she broke to think about it her feet gave out from under her and Rox tumbled to her side, spilling the commander from her hands to the wet marshy surface of the jungle…. and when the pocket raptors approached Rox could not force her self to her feet again. Instead she threw her body over the commanders Swiping viciously at the creatures that approached. Snarling as she did.. With all that was left of her strength.. The Pocket raptors would run towards her and than away from her attacks. Hour by hour, they would come and she would chase them away.. but on the occasions she had tried to force her self to her feet once more she could not; on just one occasion did she manage her self upright but the moment she had tried to lift the commander she again collapsed.
Rox din’t even know if the commander was still alive… but she could not allow her self a moment of doubt about it. the commander WAS still alive… she had to be.. and Rox would not leave her behind; And night fell. with Rox dutifully guarding her commander as the raptors continued to attack and run.. but each time the raptors grew bolder attacking and biting at Rox before running… They too knew Rox would not last much longer. Day broke, On a wounded and battered Rox.. bloody from who could count how many wounds.. but she remained. perched, unmoving …unyielding.. unmoving….un..
…
Rytlock was asleep in the corner of the wooden hut by her bed when Rox stir’d to consciousness again. The Itzel had found them but Rytlock the first to reach them when he heard of Rox and the commander’s condition. This was none the lease because Rytlock had felt something wrong, and made an excuse for himself to be in the area when news went out. Braham was in the village as well but he had been in the jungle " blowing off steam" when Rox woke. She tired to sit up in her bed with out waking Rytlock but the Pain that shot from her back as she did caused an instinctive Growl that would have woken a dragon; so she also some what instinctively flopped back on the make shift bed she was laying on. Rylock, of course barely reacted in away that was visible but he was definitely now awake when he spoke to her.
" I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this beat up… you really got you’r kitten kicked cub"
Rox groaned for a moment " I wish it was only my kitten that got kicked." … " Tribune… the commander?" Rytlock put his paws down to his knees and sat up in a clear sign of being uncomfortable.. though it was definitely not at purpose. Old Charr like Rytlock are not unsettled easy and when they are. " Tribune.." Rox again called out softer.
" She’s alive cub." …
End Part-1
Hey guys, This is my experimenting with some story writing. I am kind of a noob at it and I would really love to get some solid feed back. This is Part-1 of a Planned-3 part Story about an ascension arc! leave you’re feed back about my style of writing if you like and where you think I can improve. If I misspelled some of the fantasy names, let me know but please don’t focus on it.
You might have better luck sending them a completed manuscript, they are unlikely to take time out and talk to some one who hasn’t shown anything.
:D so I called it the wrong thing, it’s still bad Game play, We can agree on that?
it would be cool if Anet was doing this on purpose and the Blood stone magic is breaking down reality in the game world.
In a word! It’s bad. The timed events are annoying, the bosses aren’t hard and die ridiculously fast with dozens of players literally just waiting around for the boss to pop.
- It is my opinion that if you have players spending an hour or more waiting for something to happen, you have designed that thing poorly. The glowing eyes are neat though.
The dragons getting stronger is a result of the nature of the Dragon’s absorption of magical energy. As one and Now 2 are killed, the amount of energy available for the next dragon is greater and so He will be that much more powerful. I think, Primordus will now be more powerful than Zhaitan and Mordermoth combined. The pact meanwhile is now severely depleted and there has been no time to recover as the dragons come one-after-another.
A depleted pact will have to fight defensively this time and it won’t be an option to go on the offensive ( except perhaps as a final push) But all in all; This chapter of the story will feature a tyria using all of its strength just to hold Primordus at bay. I think We will not succeed in Killing Primordus this time but only in Fending him off.. perhaps holding him at bay indefinitely by stories end or injuring him badly enough that he is forced to withdraw and heal.
If you’re looking to raid as an engineer with a flame thrower, you’re going to find it to be more than a tough crowd in terms of who will take you. But your primary is fine.
She handles her self alright in fractals So at least she is active there.

Indeed. What is the universal difference between 4 and 5 star? That will vary person to person depending on their expectations and criteria.
How will a survey be added that wont feel immersion breaking? Adding it into a game like that would feel out of place and prob annoy a lot of players, esp lore enthusiasts or rpgers.
A star rating wont say what was right or wrong. Only constructive feedback can do that. Forums, reddit, iced writing on a cake are your platforms for that and are much more useful to the devs than a star rating.
Esp the cake…
There is already this Lion-sword cross thing at the end of missions.
I would counter that the Forums have the additional weakness of being time consuming and also drawn out in their approach with no real guarantee that a developer even glances at the forums to read what is written. While no guarantee exists that developers will ever glance at the rating system; there is a likelihood that providing a condensed conduit for feed back on missions will allow Developers to focus their search for back based on the general rating system. In other words, the general rating system just adds another tool for developers to use. A td;dr of feedback.
Each story mission and living world mission as well should include at the end, a brief survey of that mission. It doesn’t need to be complicated, a simple 1-5 star rating with option to go more in-depth if the player chooses. This is a feedback method that would give you much more feedback from many more players.
Again, it doesn’t need to be complicated, a simple star rating system would do.
So I went to build my ele for staff water atunement… but on her first test drive I noticed immediately that even though I am saving quite a few rear ends in the zerg and they are making all kinds of kills… I wasn’t getting any points for it.
Why would Anet seemingly go out of their way to discourage healing- so much that they dont even reward it as contributing to the fight?
I am disappointed…seriously disappointed… to read such condescending replies.
I don’t like being hit up -.- I already put money into the Black lion Gems… I have bought all 3 campaigns and played the original game for quite a while. Legacy benefits should be available to all legacy accounts! It takes nothing away from those who bought EotN … It isn’t unfair to them at all. It’s Dishonest in a way to those like me.. who ARE LEGACY ACCOUNTS!! to be told you need to shell out another 20 dollars for a game that’s 5 years old and hardly active anymore. Its not a reasonable demand.
That is not something that can’t be changed. It isn’t reasonable this long after to tell me I need to go buy another expansion pack in a game that’s barely active anymore.
Hey, I bought and completed both Nightfall and Factions as well as Prophesies.. But i am being left out because I din’t buy eye of the north!! That is incredibly unfair! I would like Anet to rectify this situation immediately and enable heritage access to those who had original GW characters from the game and other expansions.
This was just me sharing my ideas… not expecting it to happen.
General events:
Cantha as a Unified Empire has been at war for nearly all of the 250 years since Guild Wars One. The Undead armies of Palawa Joko have plagued Cantha’s south east for decades.. back and forth fighting has made Cantha a highly militant state. How ever, Things turned in Cantha’s favor in a most unlikly of times. Just 2 years ago, A new Empress takes the throne at a time when Zhatain and Palawa Joko have formed a alliance to conquer Tyria… In a Decissive battle the entire war was flipped on its head.
Battle of Heaven and Earth :
Zhaitan, believing he had broken Tyria.. turned nearly all of his might against the last true power to oppose him. 100s of thousands of undead, 10s of thousands of bone ships. In one massive strike he would crush the Dragon Empire once and for all, with Palawa Joko attacking jointly from the south. A Brilliant and young Carthan general how ever, set a trap.
Zhaitans forces where lured into Narrow straits in the mountains of the black tortoise, A powerful artifact was used and In a single day, Zhaitan had lost more than 8/10ths of his force sent to Cartha. It was called ’ defence of heaven’s gates.
Palawa, in the south landed virtually unopposed. Believing he would fast win the campaign, he split his legions in two sending the mostly living army into the east and the undeded along the coast of the west. But this too was planned by the Brilliant General Zhang, The same artifact that was used against Zhaitan was used against the Undead armies of Palawa in the east… Only just had the news of Zhaitans defeat in the north Reached Palawa when he suddenly found the back of his army broken from the east and his living legions crushed against the shores by a strategy he had planned to use him self.
The War turns :
Zhaitan had underestimated Tyria.. having dedicated more than half of his entire army to the conquest of Cantha… he was startled to find the Pact had unwittingly came at the perfect time.. Zhaitan was out of the war for Cantha at last…. his back broken in Tyria and the pact tightening a noose around his kingdom in Orr.
Palawa how ever… Followed a crushing defeat with a massive blunder. Palwa had discovered their artifact used to defeat both Zhaitan and his forces could not be used again, convincing him self that Cantha was on its heels Pawala Again sent his forces in a massive attack against Cantha, spiting his forces between the mainland’s south where he army still clung desperately to a foot hold and to the Islands of Shing jea.
How ever, the Dragon empire was in the hiegh of a rally. And Palwas attempts to break Cantha in the south failed… even with Canthan defends out numbered 5-to-1 by the undead hordes. The Decisive battle was on the plains of at the foot of Echovald forest. Palawa attempted to win with over whelming numbers in the south and decisive strikes in the north but was defeated totally.
… Now Palawa too had depleted his forces, but secretly had claimed a prize. The brilliant General Zhang that had lead Cantha to victory was slain in battle and his body captured. palawa now faced the possibility of a Canthan attack on his own continent. Zhang resurrected and corrupted to repel his former home land but would soon have other ideas in mind.
Zhang’s corruption
Abandon the dark god was furious with the failures of Palawa Joko… And saw in Zhang an opportunity to replace him. News of Scarlet’s destruction of Lions arch was the first news of Tyria to reach Cantha in decades… but it arrived on the same day as the news that not only had Zhang been corrupted… he has usurped Palawa Joko as the lord of the undead in Elonia.
