Does not Arcdps let you check the gear that other players are using and such? I’m asking this since the statement from Chris Cleary was the following.

“We have no problems with players using a 3rd party tool whose scope is only to collect and visualize combat data gathered directly from the game client. Anything beyond that scope is still considered a violation of the User Agreement.”

Do we have any official statement on arcdps being “safe” to use due to NOT breaking the ToS?

I totally agree with you, I was stuck on shooting gallery for some time, I practiced for hours and managed to get gold due to a good spawn pattern. I was stuck on floor is lava for an entire day and then I got gold.

But fallen masks? Been stuck for a week there, the random spawn patterns, no matter how fast you can make a 360 turn and have full uptime on mushroom speed I just can’t do it, closest I’ve gotten is 23-24, and if you get that 24 and 25 is on the otherside of the room, you need atleast a 10 seconds extra to get it.

Or extreme luck, I’m not a fan of RNG adventures like this one, if there is a leaderboard (which there is) why then make random adventure? If player A gets a time on 1:48 on spawn pattern Y and gets 1 lifetime, then player B gets a time on 1:52 on spawn pattern X, how can that be justified? It’s like having a race in a cardboard box against a Audi R8, two different leagues. Either have separate leaderboards for each patterns or one and the same for all, when friends asked me how I got gold on shooting gallery I had to say “luck with RNG” and not “skills”, with same pattern for all this will be majority based on skills instead of RNG, like an adventure should.

People have been farming their XP in places like CoF and gotten a lot of it and no one has done anything to stop this or, to my knowledge, come out and said it shouldn’t be done.

Why would doing the same thing in Maguuma be a problem?

Because the mobs in CoF that people farm does not give any loot. Mushrooms did i think, same as the skelks. Might been different if they did not give any loot, maybe.

So then I guess raids are PUGable with a mix of Exotic/Ascended gear, if so then I am misinformed.

I think this was stated during twitchcon that you CAN PUG the raids if you have a people with good coordination or something.

So i would say, yes it is puggable – but still remains the same chance to wipe as it does in any dungeon now days.

Plus it should be able to do it in exotic, i know it’s been said that ascended SHOULD (note SHOULD is not same thing as REQUIRED or NEEDED but more like expected) be used for later raid bosses.

But it should not matter that much, sure you can get the upper hand with a 5% stat boost with ascended (plus the extra stats if you got stat infusions) which might contribute that little extra to the raid.

Okay i will give my voice a matter here too due to the beta weekends last day

  • The Berserker as a whole is not too shabby, it has potential (at least the traits has) the utilities are pretty meh from a PvE aspect (from a PvP one or WvWvW one i can see some being used).
  • The Primal Burst Skills on some weapons are IN MY OPINION useless. (Not including GS, Longbow. Axe being weak but i can understand that we cant do 12k eviscerate aoes twice (although this renders this primal burst nearly useless in pve).
  • I really the buffs you get when you activate berserker, i can notice that i hit faster which will let met cash out more dps in a short moment.
  • Torch wont be viable in PvE (in it’s current zerker state), cant see it happen that it will replace a warhorn or a mace – as for PvP it could be a thing for a condi warrior.
  • Headbutt is also a twisted thing for PvE – short cooldown, decent damage – remove one stack of defiance. How ever, it wont bypass the uses warbanner has or signet of rage to be fair. In PvP i think this skill would be EPIC in a one-on-one situation or WvWvW roaming maybe.
  • Warriors are more or less bound by 3 trait lines in PvE dungeon/fractals at the moment, Strength/Arms/Tactics. If a warrior want to achive it’s highest dps we go Strength/Arms/Dicipline. And these are quite vital, Strength and Arms are a “must” to be honest. At the moment i can’t see berserker line finding a use in PvE.

Summary

Berserker is more or less a flavor for PvP i would say, it will have to require some testing to find out if a Strength/Arms/Berserker warrior can out match a Strength/Arms/Dicipline warrior. But i feel that dicipline gives the warrior more “good” things then berserker can offer.

  • Glyphs – I say they need a buff. increase the radius on them to 600 at least, and buff the damage on those that have damage.

I don’t think u understand how large 600 radius is. 360 is the range of natural convergence and it’s perfect. glyphs should go up from 300 to 360 and we’d be good.

360 range might be good enough. It’s very easy to miss someone in your party with a 300 range skill, especially if this is world vs world or any content to be honest. 600 might be a bit too strong there i can agree on that note.

360 might just do it!

After playing around a bit on druid i feel the following

  • The damage on staff is way too low, and only three skills that can do damage, i can nearly not even do a full quick DPS rotation on staff before the 11111111 spam begins – and then i’m still rendered useless. This has to be buffed
  • Solar Beam – It is an AoE but the way it’s aoeing is by piercing other mobs as in having mobs in a line and pick the one in the far back. I find this kinda sad to be honest, some fights can be very annoying if someone goes full “rouge” and starts repositioning and then mobs are running all over the place. *make this bounce like elementalist staff air 1 or like a normal aoe skill like elementalist staff fire 1 to mention a few imo.

This is a major problem already for rangers, their lack of having a decent aoe dps and focused on single target damage mainly, even with piercing arrows a ranger will not be effective aoe wise – so why would this one be if it is designed the same way?

  • Pets are very nice, at least they do decent damage now and they are now usefull. Hence the Smokescale is nearly more use in a dungeon then the druid itself overall.

I know this spec is focusing on healing, but every now and then damage is the best defence – There for i suggest moar direct dps – NOT condition damage – raw damage.

Spam poison the druid and it will be nothing without proper numbers.

It’s very hard to make MMO or any game chat clean. It’s like trying to make a society clean in the same way – it is impossible.

Best thing to do is just to report that particular person and they should dealt with it. Block them too, or just do like me, have your combat/guild chat open all the time if some extremely pointless/offending discussion is happening on local chat.

In a MMO community, it is very easy to turn your face and look the other way.

I would say nothing has changed. Druids can still deal some decent amount of damage while tossing heals out by damaging.

Just like a warrior can toss out damage and provide might to the party.

I think it will just be som tweaking on how to tackle the new content, maybe trait that extra support healing to overcome something.

So nothing new, at least for me that is – i’m going shout heals on mai trin usually to make sure we don’t wipe, none tells me to, just doing it.

I think there won’t be a case, we still got waterfields and blasts and such.

Why would Arena Net design a spec that will be REQUIRED in raids if Colin Johanson said more or less that “we dont want that in Guild Wars 2” earlier this year at PAX. I will quote EXACTLY what he said.

“Raids, are where all the great things about the Guild Wars 2 combat system comes together. Weapon swap, dodge rolling, player positioning, skill combos and our fluid system of control, support and damage.

That relies on players keeping themselves alive aswell as having to work with their party, aswell as having control on enemies all at the same time for you to overcome these great challenges. NO MORE you are reliant on two people in your party YOUR HEALERS KEEPING EVERYONE ALIVE, EVERYONE has to work together to overcome these challenges.

So no trinity is confirmed YET. (and i think there will never be a trinity system in Guild Wars 2 and that I FULLY APPROVE, people who want trinity can play another MMO that got trinity, gw2 is not the game for that player)

Druid is just a healing spec for Rangers just like water is for Elementalists.

Now this may require us players to swap from zerker to PvT or something to survive, being sharp on getting waterfields delivered and such to heal up – THIS IS NOTHING NEW it happens from time to time in high level fractals for example.

There will always be people who will be toxic, may it be f2ps or elitist veterans.

I’ve been with a bunch of f2p people lately while doing story dungeons and a couple of explorables. But they are not being toxic in anyway, some need to get a waypoint linked to them so they can enter the dungeon, some will just stand there in the red circles and dodge too late and die over and over etc etc – It’s fine, we all been there at some point but those i’ve met are not being toxic (yet).

Now yesterday i was with a veteran who was just being toxic against the f2p players, telling them that they were being slow and they should stop kittening sleep and shape up, spam pinging on mini map and just being elitist wanna be in general.

Some will joke and some will be real, best way to do is just to let it be and move on – nicer groups out there (and worse).

And ofc since we get raids in expansion we are going to see quite a decent amount of toxic elitist try to “lead” the raid without patience.

So we are closing in on it, less then a month now before Toxic Wars 2: Salt of Thorns will be real for a period of time.

RPing can be tricky, i did RP in another game and i was lucky that the people i RPed with was patience and so far away from being elitists as possible and only remaining hardcore RPers.

Think it’s just a matter of what kind of people you run into, just like in RL – i can pick a random person out in my town and try to lay out a conversation with him/her and i might just be called jerk there as i could be called in-game for doing the exactly same thing.

I’m a bit interested in RPing now due to the fact that Guild Halls are coming and guild should be able to make their own tavern there. It gives some privacy from non-rp people and then i got something to do after i’m done doing dungones or fractals.

I fully understand OP though, if i was RPing i cant blame anyone for being a bit slower to answer – becoming rude over it is just a matter of poor behavior and lack of respect imo..

Many, many players, including me, enjoy exactly this more then anything else in this game, because it means you’ll never have to grind mindlessly, just to be competitive against other players, or to be able to join fractals, dungeons, or the new raids, whenever you feel the need to do so. If you need to be away from the game for a long time, you don’t go back with the dread feeling that you are miles away from the rest of the people in the game, and you need to grind your kitten off, just to be an competitive player again. Sorry, mate, I know many don’t like to hear this, but it sure sounds this game isnt made for you. Maybe you should take a look at the more traditional MMOs out there. As I said, enough players from the gw2 comunity like the way things are made in this direction, and its not likely Anet will change it, until this method is succesful and bring more new players every day.

Also the skills are anything, but identical to each other. Please, don’t try to reinforce your point with nonsense, because it accomplishes nothing more then discrediting your post.

Since Season 1 History Lesson is not replayable its a bit tricky.

Only thing i can think of is to complete all challenges again on the character you need it on. Even if you have unlocked all achievements for them and done season 2 100% totally.

I do agree, this is a annoying issue.

EDIT: Never mind, i just did another episode then replayed (like Phobia said in the post above me) the episode i had issues with and now its fixed.

Will keep it in mind, I bought Guild Wars 1 just for the skins you get from HoM tbh – farmed up to 10 points to get the Fiery Dragon Sword as a RT/R.

Had some enjoyful moments, extremely boring doing it entierly solo though.

Stopped continuing since i got rekked in the underworld(?) on my hunt for the blackwidow, and since i had to farm out rep for the factions or something to get some elite skills, which would take me weeks of farming alone since i find no players >.<

But will keep it in mind if i decide to go for more points, i’m full greenie in GW1 with a total of 91 hours played.

For me this thread sounds like “Just because i have it, no one else is allowed to have it since then it wont be unique”

I will quote the OP from another thread he posted in.

Almost ALL of the cool skins are from past events like how I played at Season 1 and got the fused gauntlets before and nobody else could get them. I felt like that wasnt fair to release something to people who also payed for the game and happened to start right after. I think they should add all items just like how they did with the fused guantlets and make them cost laurels or have another event while we are waiting for HoT to let people stack up on cool skins while we wait for HoT.

So we are allowed by the OP to stack up on cool skins, but keep in mind that we are not allowed to get the selfless potion for example, because he got it back at LS 1 and therefor it is priceless and unique and no one else who missed out on it are ALLOWED to get it.

The text i bolded is just the same example like now, but thats not okay by the sound of it. Old item are coming back – gives the people who missed out on them in the first place another shot at getting them. They also payed for the game most likely so.

Anyway, i’ll add you to my friendlist – you seems like an amazingly fun person to play with.

Will try to be as detailed as possible without activating berserker. Long post incoming.

The Bad Things

  • The time between the events are too long, we are after all being invaded by a Elder Dragon and it’s like “ooh the mighty forces of Tyria have defeated my forces! I will now DRINK TEA FOR HALF AN HOUR! Then i will invade again!”.
  • The rewards for doing this is way too punishing, three hours of wait and tagging and we get rewarded with 45 blossoms at most, some people get none (imagine the lowbies, how can they even get time to tag mobs or dash out the damage needed to be registered that they have dpsed a mob to get rewarded).
  • “Guild Wars 2 reward the player to play with others” Now that is not working here, stick to the zerg and aim to reach 20 stacks in 30 minutes? It’s not doable imo, the way to do this event is to go full rouge, avoid commanders, tag mobs then leave and let others finish the event. It’s not fun, i don’t like it – but what are my/others options if they want the 15 blossoms.

The Good Thing

  • The rewards from the vendor is okay, its giving the players to buy the skins for gold instead of gems, its cheaper and i find it better – even for a new player.

How I Would Adress Thease Issues

The event has to be EPIC, this is another attack by the Jungle Dragon on Tyria, we have seen what it has done in it’s first attack on Tyria with it’s vines and now we get to keep him at bay to not let him destroy more of our world, our heritige, our homes.

I would keep that thought in my mind and keep in mind that it has to breath, it has to live, it has to feel like a invasion, it HAS to feel that we are being under attack by a Elder Dragon.

First thing that i would do is to reduce the event time from 30 min to 20 min, and instead of having individual stacks like we got now, i would add a “Map Stack” this would calculate all events we finish during that 20 minutes. Rewards would be equal to all, teamwork would be rewarded once again.

Rewards would be the following

10 events completed by map = 10 blossoms
20 events completed by map = 15 blossoms
30 events completed by map = 20 blossoms
40 events completed by map = 25 blossoms
50 events completed by map = 35 blossoms

Usually you average 35-40 events on 30 minutes. This would add a bit of a challenge, cooperation between commanders and the “taggers” atm would have to finish the random events they port to just to contribute

Easy way for this would be that the roamers go for shield events (they got fixed locations when they spawn so they spawn at the same spot everytime) the commanders with zergs head to catapults and bombs. This way it would create a good flow on events and all would be rewarded equally, now the argument might be “i do more work and being rewarded with the same amount as the one that did one event” well that happens, leechers are everywhere – who had most fun in the end is what matters.

Secondly is that i would remove the break times between the three events. As soon the 20 minutes are done in Brisban it should start RIGHT AWAY in Kessex for 20 minutes, let them try to overwhelm us – let us rally on the run on who is running where. Once Kessex is done, it starts in Diessa right away too for 20 minutes.

Once all these is done, what i would have added is that i would add that Modrem Guard that are in the beta (he has to have some purpose in Heart of Thorns right? Let us get familiar with him! He has plently of uses before we meet him, considering that HoT is future, and adding him in the present atm would be okay, we dont kill him now – we just defeat him then he can just escape by hugging a vine that pulls him down in the earth as a retreat or something… something..) I will add a picture of him to this post. Anyway, HE would spawn in any of the three maps we just did events in, let him be like a minor boss to defeat, like a world boss. By defeating him i suggest this as rewards

  • A big event chest as we usually get, contains random stuff like blues, greens, rares (almost like vinewrath got atm)
  • 10-15 blossoms
  • As for the event reward (the bronze, silver, gold) we get exp, karma, silver like normal events, this will feel a bit more rewarding for new players too.

After this has happend, we did events, the guard is drawn back to the planning board – Tyria is safe for another 90 minutes. Then it happens again.

I would also let the event run for 1-2 weeks instead of 4 days. This would let people have time to get the things they wanted and not to let them gamble with their personal health by farming 24/7 to get the rewards.

This would “de-reward” the items a bit, but what gives? As more content comes, new items come, people will replace the armor they get here with “cooler” things, new people come and come back and value will rise of the items again. In the end, all are the winners.

As adressing the disconnecting people are having i cant say much on that, to be honest – this happens in spvp, world bosses and you get nothing by dcing there and logging back in most of the cases, so i think nothing can be done on that front. If there was something to be done there, i guess we would have seen it in-game already for spvp and world bosses

This is just my opinion, many might not agree with me on this, but i think this would make this event better.

I just got 10 stacks and got a bonus chest with 10 blooms. One bloom per stack? Is this real?

0-4 stacks = 0 blooms
5-9 stacks = 5 blooms
10-19 stacks = 10 blooms
+20 stacks = 15 blooms

I would love to see the Crown Pavilion to be opened again, and more bosses would be even better too. Boss Blitz was good farm imo.

But i will be surprised if they open it this year, think they are too busy with HoT and even after its release i think its a no go due to lack of time..

But we can always hope!

I’m farming for the Toxic Gloves. I dont mind it, if i did not get 0 rewards no matter how hard i push myself over 20-30 stacks during the event.

From my perspective this is no different from the reward structure that SAB or Halloween or other events with the exception that you don’t have to turn a large number of drop X into the currency the vendor will take first.

I remember SAB clearly. 250 baubles to make a bauble bubble, 50 bauble bubbles for a weapon skin or 20 for a mini. I spent an hour playing and got 30 baubles. I need 12,500 for a skin, 5,000 for a mini. Well back to normal adventuring.

Same with Halloween. Mini needed 12,000 candy corn and I can get only a handful at a time every hour. Stuff that, back to normal adventuring.

I might be wrong, but i remember SAB and Halloween to be around for more then four days?

If this event was around for, lets say two weeks. Then i guess everything would be a little bit more O.K.

I guess we can all hope that this sale ends with a BOOM and we get most of the desired items that has been talked about on the forums.

Instead of a POOF – Instant Repair Canister 10% off, Revive Orb 50% off.

I would not be surprised if we get the “poof” but i really want them to drop the BOMB on last sale day, may it be a 24 hours time on them i dont mind. As long we get them.

Take my advice, dont do RNG. I did it, lost thousands of gold to it (gotten lucky twice) but i found out, if i stop tossing stuff into the toilet i’ll end up on a bigger pile of money and a bigger pile and in the end i can afford to buy a legendary or the precursor i need.

RNG is like waiting to win on betting games almost, can take a lifetime to win that 100 millions. Save that money you put into it, and you are the one going home lucky in a long run.

Legendary armor hunt please

I am as casual as they come, and hell will freeze over before I do a raid in GW2. Even so, I think it makes perfect sense if legendary awards are only available from completing raids. This content is lined up to be the hardest to be found anywhere in the game, so why shouldn’t it be rewarded with the best rewards in game? The hard-core raiders deserve that kind of progression.

This, just this is what i think too.

It is fairly simple atm, if you want the Fractal Capacitor you do fractals, if you want the full Arah set you do Arah, if you want Twilight you do AC for the gift. If you want legendary armors you do raids.

If you dont want to do raids but you want legendary armor, well. Then hope something that is NEEDED to make the legendary armor can be sold on the TP just like precursors.
