Unsure whether the centaurs are with the White Mantle though some of those camps seem to have White Mantle flags. I imagine whether they are or not this will be exploited by Caudecus saying the Queen cannot protect the citizens.

I have posted on the reddit forums but thought I would put at least what I am looking at here.

If you look at what one player did listing the areas here

Then what I did I started to list the names going down column 1 and then column 2. What you notice (on the whole). Is the names repeat themselves every 50 times.

Look for all the Field of Ruins and / or hoelbrak and you can see a pattern.

Now first up maybe I am seeing patterns where there aren’t any and making assumptions all locations go somewhere but if not maybe there is a way to predict where the rifts will go (not which are active as some don’t go anywhere).

Wild speculation time
I think there are 32 zones
Include 5 cities
Add 4 HOT locations
That makes 41- leaving 9 locations left.

We have had 3 locations in last 3 Living World
And this year will get (if the pattern holds) 6 more making 50 in total.

Now there are so many flaws in my logic and I am making assumptions here but who knows.

As to missing locations
Divinity’s Reach
Most starter zones apart from Metrica Province
Straits Of Devastation is not in the list

As to 97 well that’s still a mystery (where is e when you need him/her/it)

Good way to hide evil is being being cute. I think (though this is not based on anything) is with perhaps other potential dragon getting active (okay Kralky’s minions are just gathering ley-line energy) that perhaps we may change out tune and come up with another way to combat dragons. I see Spencer coming into this

I take by now those that have chose 1 or the other are now vision free? On all characters (which I think is just a game mechanic unfortunately rather than any freak circumstance) as well. One think I was wondering if this was brought on by magic absorption (which I still try and make my character scream even now and again) who else would it have affected?

Hello – unsure if this is a bug or just my soundcard but when I log off/switch character in Lion’s Arch there is a continuing sound of flapping like a flag or birds. I think this is a background sound in Lion’s Arch. Anyway its not a major one its just I was wondering whether anyone else gets this or if its just the way my game works?

Hello,

Just wondering what the lore -background information is in regards to the recent gings on re anomalies? I assume you all have spoken re this before?
For example the “sad anomaly” which is now not appearing after what my character is done seemed similar in form at least to Lazarus (where was he before anywhere).
So were we seeing one or more anomalies do you think? Are these similar to Lazarus and where do they come from (the underworld? the mists?)
Also in conjunction is there a specific form – for example during the consortium / priory events in Snowden Drifts they collect a coalescence which look like energy beings from other events, is that a default look?
I admit I may be looking too much into it but was curious

I understand mem but his conversation seems to indicate that the final part of our conversation is before out first part but I do admit I never thought of it as another form of displacement.
To be honest I am not sure if there is a time element in the world’s magic though there are a few times where we have been able to view past events.
As to the number 97 Olterin – there were others thinking the same thing in the map I was in. Permutations of 2 13’s make this beyond 97 but maybe (and I am being very simple here) that its just 9 and 7?

Now this is purely me but i’m a bit confused as I only had this appear a few times (okay 2 times). So this enables to open a rift – does that mean people can jump through it at that point?
What is the difference between stabilizing and opening (if there is one).
I just never had time to experiment – I was too busy jumping through weird rifts to notice.

Lion's Arch Conversations

Firstly thank you for the replies – I do admit that a lot of assumptions re Skritt mind are my own from just playing the game – I blame the Asura. Interesting that they do communicate.

Went back to Silverwastes today and looked at their drawing board for the ship – saw the attached (I hope) map and writing. Is the writing translatable?

I am interpreting the map as north of the Silverwastes i.e new up coming stuff but really could be anywhere

Whilst running round Lion’s Arch there are a few conversations that I have overheard that i thought to consolidate. I am sure these probably been dealt with elsewhere but the search facility seemed not to work and also maybe its a good idea to have them together.

This only covers three but any more please add.

First is what i’ve dubbed the United Sea/Sky Skritt

Chatting to the skritt in the cave – here they are talking about being pirates. I only just got to Drydock in Silverwastes and there is an indication of Skritt progress there.

Not knowing the lore very well just thought I would ask – do Skritt have separate tribes or when they unite as a group does the group mind overrule that. So if they get a ship would that make them more ruthless / dangerous.

Wild random Speculation – there does seem to be a leaning towards air travel (especially with the Lion’s Arch station with the expansion) – makes me think they may focus more on this with perhaps a reoccurrance of teh Aetherblades. (I missed what happened to them I take they are still around or is there a skypirate vacancy?)

Ther other two involve Captain Gnashblade and Consortium

To feed into rumours of Gnashblade there is a statement he says in his office about if his merchants cannot be protected then he’ll start getting his own army.

There was also a conversation re consortium and adding a vast tract of land (maybe not vast but land definitely). Whether this means somewhere in the new expansion or somewhere else not sure but I am starting to see more conflicts arising with Gnash and the Consortium.

Wild Speculation – War, what is it good for? Well maybe trade but this could expand into physical conflict – especially with potential Gnashblade army.

Also just to add Zomorros or specifically his acquired items – where are they? Again not up on Zomorros’s lore. Where would he keep that stuff (if you ignore that its just a mechanism of teh game and actually real somewhere)

So just a few thoughts initially on the conversations

I think it could work in some regards similar to what Healix said – in other words you tie it into the events results.
For example the main thing at the moment is rescuing citizens so you could have something like an average of the whole deployment. If 50% are rescued then certain citizens are saved this will be reflected in npcs that return or don’t return.

If you take the death of Kiel/Evon as an ending. They could have had either in Lion’s Arch trying to spur people to safety but one won’t make it out alive.

If, as an average, across the servers get 75% or more saved citizens we get to choose as a vote. (though it would be intereresting if this was individual server based i.e a server can become different depending on actions – though this could be extremely unmanagable)

You could have something that also could go into the next event.

Take the potions against Scarlet’s armies
If across the servers we got an average of 50% or below saved citizens then get a standard potion
50% to 75% a much better one
75% to 99% even better than before
100% a sort of ascended style potion perhaps

This then becomes available through the next event as something to buy with some as free gifts from the citizens as a thank you. (though this could have different servers with different potions strengths would defeat the object with guesting available)

(Or maybe all of the above)

Finally another example could be the miasma – maybe one of the three areas will still be unavailable once lion’s arch is free. Therefore look at all the events which one of the three was successful less. Therefore when freed an area is still unaccessible (traders elsewhere if need people – somepeople still displaced) thereby leading to another side-story to free it.

To me even the single player games give the illusion of choice i.e everyone goes through the same bits its just the details the journey may be different depending on your choices or in our case actions.

Finally a problem could be people deliberately sabotaging / ignoring one event perhaps but if this is done across all the servers then maybe not so much?

And I suppose that now we get veteran elementals (I am sure they were not part of the rupture event before) means it is getting stronger / more powerful / destructive.

As we build towards the official release date of the next part of the story they do add more – I am sure the vents have got more frequent/constant with their venting – and more have popped up throughout the map. And the more refugees in Lion’s Arch. To me sometimes it is difficult knowing what was there before

At the moment I am imagining the steam vents as a factory style area where the Dredge are building something terrible. That is the entrance which either as Narcemus says will be to a dungeon or a mouch larger dynamic event involving a lot of people. But this is all supposition based on no facts.

Essentially my knowledge of lore is fairly low so I have be reading about the potential relationships of the Molten Alliance but in my mind I haven’t connected it to the events of the ruptures. Also can people tell me where are the closest chimneys – i.e those rounded steam/air spewing things to the cuty. I have noticed as I am sure others have of the growing closeness to the cities.

What is the connection (I am sure this has been discussed but couldn’t find it) – are they creating a tunnel to the city for attack from below?

Also what is the connection to elementals? I am assuming elementals are natural beings? Unsure what is the lore rounf them and the fact that there are unstable ones would seems to indicate to me that if a tunnel is being build that strange magics are afoot summoning these elementals.

As I have said I know not the lore so I am making assumptions here so please can anyone enlighten me?

Customisable Personal Nemesis

First I must declare that I have taken this idea from another game but arguably teh time it would take to implement would be large.

The idea is to have as the title suggests a customisable personal nemesis. i see these as Story Missions – in other words alternate ways to level through the content. Usually when you start getting into the order storylines the choices tend to narrow a bit. This could be a good time to introduce someone that has a grudge against the character.

In other words there would be a choice in a conversation with someone saying there is a rumour of someone going after the character for what they have done previously in the personal story. For example in the human one – could have a bandit, a sereph or maybe a risen.

Now a simple way to implement would be just to have set named villians created by Anet but my proposal would be to then go to a character creator with templates of bandit, sereph and risen and you can change the look and name.

A good option would be to make it into an optional choice – in other words the previous conversation would have an option and say it is only a rumour so the player can carry on as before.

The set missions could involve people from previous personal story and again make it more unique for the player. This could happen later on as well – for the latter stages of the leveling process.

Other aspects could be having customisable minions of the villain and the potential to have a dungeon for all your villains and your guild mates villains.

Optional extentions/ideas
Anet could sell villain/monster templates to use or usable villainous clothes
How about a guild customisable villain – someone the guild has upset
Where I stol …. have taken the idea from used to have the minions attack the player’s character as they were travelling through the landscape.
Therefore perhaps (and I do see a lot of problems with the next two ideas) you could have minions turn up as part of dynamic events or have specific dynamic events that just involve a persons villianous deedsthat other people may help in/stumble across like happens now with dynamic events.

As I mentioned earlier – a lot of work and arguably a lot of flaws but what do people think?

What do people think is the connection to the little chimney/breaches that keep on appearing along the paths – I am sure there are more than there were. Also the uncontrolled elementals. Is this the dredge digging underground making tunnels to the capitals – disturbing elementals along the way (or some elemental powered tunneling device) that using it disruptes the weather?

Thanks folks .. I suppose I see them more as bigoted rally – they will tradce with mose people but there are those (i.e ones that may not like the grawl in Lion’s Arch) that don’t. Where’s the profit in helping them..?
Part of my thinking, albeit twisted as it is, is to get the dredge and the charr together must have taken some foresight and/or desperation. I can understand the Dredge – Konig plus others have already mentioned we are not sure if its a splinter group or if teh Dredge are winning their uprising. So seeking an edge or partnering with the Charr would make sense.
But the Flame Legion .. I don’t understand that – again as explained in other thread posts the Flame Legion are about domination etc. So to join the Dredge (I know we are not sure of the dynamics yet) – had to mean they were extremely desperate or someone brought them together – to encourage to make that first step – to help negotiate.
But really my question do people see the Flame Legion joining forces, admittedly temporarily, and if so how/why? Would it just be a tactical reason i.e underground forces? Or would their leaders have something or someone in common?

It would have been nice to see each one get into the story that bit more in later stages – or at least turn up in the home zones. You could be right Zaxares but there is part of me that hopes that the Consortium are sort of speciest (if that is even a word). Arguably its a counter point to the Black Lion group but from what i can see we don’t get much of any nackground of the lion as they are more of a in game buying force rather than redaing about lore. What is the black lion’s background?

Zaxares – I think it is because of the line before the ‘eyes’ one “Consortium gives, but not to us.” Despite that never considered your interpretation and it does work even with the previous line. I wouldn’t put it past the consortium to be dealing supplies to both sides – war makes for great trade.

The dredge would be asking for help if they have been enslaved – they have been eradicating everything of the dearves because of that. I think someone has orchestrated an alliance – whether through an intermediary or by their own we will ahve to look at. The building that is constructed near the vents/entrance to diessa – looks norn design to me but i’m no expert

Just reading this I have not realised there is more to their relationship. Coming at it from a non reader of the books – Logan comes across as very clingy/infatuated. He thinks that she need protecting all the time whereas she does seem (in the game at least) to have a bit more strength/nous than he gives her credit. As achensherd alluded too she does seem to be calculating though (that is an impression I get from the cutscenes)

I only just spotted that today bit late. To be honest I know it may be slow for some people but this is the sort of thing that I have been wanting in a MMOn for a long time. The build up – the little changes to the background – to me make it a little bit different to other games. I really like this from a personal point of view and think this should continue but I may be in a minority.
