People like to hate. BG has had a massive influx of players & ET & HoD have lost about as many players as BG has gained. Easy for those looking out to start whinging that BG is unbeatable but all the people from BG already starting to hate on the new transfers is really disheartening.
Many people moved to BG not for the WvW but for the community and I would hate to see that community turn on itself.
I’ve been fiercely against transfers but with both big alliances splitting it’s actually evened out some of the top servers. CD might have lost out but they also tend to give up at the first sign of a challenge so that might be a reason no one wants to go there.
People like to look for excuses and blame others. HoD is undefeated so why would they weaken there position to make others feel better. Free transfers are still up & we could use more Oceanics & some Europeans on ET (and SBI and JQ would probably love more too) & I’m sure SoS would love some more NA players.
Why not move to one of the top tier servers and take the fight to HoD rather than expecting them to weaken there position.
I would have no issue with them being a WvW overflow but the PvP in them needs to stay. PvP in the jumping puzzles is 100 times more fun that the Capricorn sPvP map.
From all accounts HoD has a decent server community so I don’t really see why Titan will leave just to prove something. It is all about coverage and the only reason I see TA leaving would be to reduce queue times for the members at the cost of the top spot.
Largely irrelevant discussion and near impossible to gauge. Considering WvW resets Saturday morning for a lot of us Oceanics our times during the start of the WvW week overlap with NA players.
With people swapping servers to grief the opposition and everyone flocking to HoD making them only stronger I think free transfers have ruined WvW to a point.
Free transfers also have the potential to fix WvW but not many guilds seem willing to make the switch to a different server to try and make up for the downtime on some servers.

It’s good to see a guild willing to make a step in the right direction for the better of the game. If SoS has a few more NA guilds they might have a chance of being competitive. It’s kinda sad to see how many people have flocked to HoD rather than making a home on a server that with added numbers would have a real chance.
I’m on ET & we do well with the numbers we have but are in need of more players to fill that void between Oceanics going to bed & Americans waking up. Ideally European guilds. I think that with better coverage we really would give HoD one hell of a fight.
+1 for that. Always having the same problem & you don’t really make much gold in WvW so every little bit helps.
This really is a pain when it’s a major advantage to a shout build. Still waiting for it to be fixed…
I agree with the others on a reworking. I actually don’t like the map layout a whole lot but I’m willing to deal with it if the sharks are gone. The other maps have a gimmick (trebs, Svanir & Chieftan & guild lord) but this map has sharks & the cannon combined with the whole underwater combat mechanic and it’s just too much. Fixed or no, I still hope it doesn’t make it’s way into tournament play.
Too early to tell still. There still needs to be some balancing done which will significantly affect this.
They need to either be entirely removed or maybe only have 2 of them in the water. On a side note ANet, please never put this map into the tournament rotation.
I agree. In the end having a decent bunker gets you wins in tournaments so you still get reward but it would be nice to be able to rise through the ranks a little faster.
IMO dodging/countering stuff like that is a basic hurdle to sPvP. If you can’t manage stuff like that then don’t expect to do so well in tournaments. On a side note, you find a lot of these builds in hot join but decent tournament teams tend to run a much more balanced group from my experience.
Thieves hard counter is retaliation for the heartseeker & pistol whip builds. Mesmers also have issues with steady AOE that wipes out clones. Almost all Mesmer builds do a lot less damage without illusions or they rely on stacking confusion on you. People make OP builds, other people counter them and so forth, it’s just the nature of the game. My current Guardian bunker build has been specifically made to deal with thieves & I just sit & watch them explode against me with the sheer amount of retaliation I can pop.
