I have 50% of meta achiev (it’s mean I did wvw) but still no reward for 2nd place
(spoke with historian – nothing happens.)
You needed to complete at least 10/19 within the given time to get any rewards.
Thank you ArenaNet for the speedy resolution of this problem.
That is great news. I have also filed my ticket when she suggested it and currently I am waiting since it takes some time due to sheer volume of English tickets. Problem solved then I guess. Thanks ArenaNet.
I will be putting in a ticket. I have always been on Jade Quarry and it still shows I got a 2nd place and only had 100 tickets in the mail.
In your case first try talking with Battle Historian in a borderland and see if he gives you a chest (should be 1st option).
lol actually ready the 2-3 sentence email that came with the 100 tickets, meh already chucked those mistforge kitten into the forge…. got back a cleric dagger of blood ( rare) …. go figure
Did you even read before posting?
Just curious, why did you all transfer to NA for the tournament? I keep thinking maybe you guys waited until it was almost over and transferred once it was obvious which server was going to win and get 500 tickets. Since it was a transfer from EU to NA, it didn’t matter how short of a time you spent on that NA server cause it was the only NA server you spent time on, so your reward was linked to it. Then you transfer back to EU right after. If that’s the case, you don’t deserve a reward at all, which seems to be what you’ve gotten. But I’ll give you all the benefit of the doubt and assume this is not the case. Good luck getting your rewards.
Please read the posts first before you make false assumptions. No where is it mentioned that all of the people in this thread who did not get their rewards transferred from EU to NA to get 500 tickets for Season 2? Where did you read that, are you sure you posted in the right thread?
I have clearly mentioned that completed Season 2 on the server which has been my home for last 16 months.
I played Season 2 on a NA server (which had been my server for last 16 months). After the Season 2 ended, I got my chest and I transferred to EU. Then on June 3rd we came to know that Arena Net ran into some problems and will not be enabling us to get our rewards. Now, 14 days later, when I went to WvWvW and talked with Battle Historian and got no rewards. Now I am stuck with 500 voided WvWvW Tournament Claim Tickets and 100 tickets that I got in my mail, for no fault of my own. GG
Clearly it is your own fault as you said you got your tickets and switched servers. Before you have done that you should have waited and checked if other had gotten their chest, but no you didn’t and come onto the forum to post your mistake of instantly switching servers.
I am not sure if you are serious or just trolling.
1. I got my reward chest after Season 2 ended, just like I should. I am no quality tester for Arena Net and it is not my job to find out that Arena Net was able to reward every player accordingly. But I do understand that coding errors can occur that is why I never posted on the rewards delay issue, because in mmorpg development stuff can happen. Some people still have not received their Season 1 reward chests.
2. Then we were informed that “While the World vs. World team investigates an issue with tournament reward chest distribution, we are temporarily delaying access to the rewards that would have otherwise been available on the Battle Historian on June 3rd. We hope this will help prevent further compounding the issue, and avoiding unnecessary confusion while we work to resolve the problem. Thank you for your patience. – Mark Katzbach”. Again in this post, it was no where mentioned that those people who got their tickets normally would have them cancelled, what was mentioned was that the rewards NPC was disabled. So when the issue is sorted he will be enabled again, when meant I would be able to use my tickets to buy what I like.
3. There are many other bugs and issues which took a very long time to fix. If I wait for every bug/issue to be fixed before I make my move then I will never be able to make it. For example, some players still have not got their Season 1 rewards. I do like to be aware of the game, but it is not my job to be a quality tester. Again I am not blaming Arena Net, since in mmorpgs coding is complex due to immense size and inter-connectivity of everything. I am happy that most people were able to get their Season 2 rewards after this June 17th update.
I am a solution oriented person and that is why I decided to bring this issue into attention of ArenaNet, so we can work towards a solution.

If you are in this situation, please submit a ticket to Customer Support. They will assist you in transferring to collect your Tournament rewards.
Thank you.
Thank you, I will do that.
Free transfer to NA (for claiming Season 2 rewards) and then free transfer back to current EU server will be appreciated.
You should be able to transfer back to a NA server and speak to the Battle Historian there to retrieve your rewards.
Would that be free? I know I recently bought gem cards worth $100, but I do not want to spend them on fixing something which is not my fault.
Edit:: Fixed a typo
(edited by Auroma.9126)
No, I did not get that option.
I never posted on this rewards delay issue earlier since I understand that coding issues can happen, but this is just …..

Tournament rewards for the World vs. World Spring 2014 Tournament will be available in the June 17th build. Once that build is live, you will be able to speak to the Battle Historian in any WvW map to get an updated tournament chest that has the correct rewards and number of tickets for your placement. Previously issued tickets will be voided with the build. Feel free to open any chests that you have already received now.
To thank you for your patience while we sorted out this bug, all players who completed the meta achievement will receive an additional 100 tickets.
Thank you once again for your understanding.
Hi, will the players who switched from NA to EU after the season 2 ended receive the extra 100 tickets? (meta is complete). I remember there was a glitch that you guys were solving after Season 1, it prevented people who switched regions after season 1 from getting rewards, will this be an issue after season 2 as well?
Any official explanation on what this code means? It is very frustrating to get this while map commanding. I stay connected to Teamspeak and websites that I have opened, only GW2 kicks me from game.
If you are looking to be part of a friendly and inclusive community that is moving forward together, look no further. Ring Of Fire is the server for you!
This is happening with me too. I get kicked out of game after every 20-30 minutes and get this code on white/greyish screen. Could not find this code on Gw2 wiki
Lately I have been experiencing massive skill and movement freeze in WvWvW. This happens both in large group fights as well as in small fights as well. What happens is that my skills will not work after like 5 seconds into the fight, and my character will keep looping into the same position. For example if my character is standing at point X, I will try to move but after 2 seconds I will be teleported back to point X, and at the same time no skill will work. I cannot pick my loot bags during that time.
On my screen, the fight will continue even after it is over (that is, I will be seeing the fight with a delay, sometimes as long as a 15 second delay). I will be full health (with skills not working and stuck at one spot in loop) and then I will suddenly lose all my health. I will see people fighting even after they have died and respawned (as I can tell from teamspeak), I cannot pick my loot bags or ress or stomp.
After the fight is over, I will not be able to waypoint back. I have to try 2 or 3 times and it takes another 15 to 20 seconds for waypoint to work. Once waypoint works, things work normally till I get into the next fight, big or small.
This does happen more in larger fights, and is very frustrating and game breaking for me. Are there any solutions to solve this problem? Please share.
Bump Bumpity Bump!
For months Jade Quarry did not have any WvWvW Oceanic guild. Few of our NA would stay up all night and some of our SEA will log in early to face full map SoR and Blackgate blobs. It was an easy PvDoor Karma train time for Sanctum of Rall and Blackgate.
And now finally we managed to get some support in Oceanic time zone and look at all the tears it has caused. Is it too bad that JQ Oceanic will be able to give at least some competition to Super Stacked SoR and BG Oceanics? And as we speak Blackgate is getting more guilds transferring in, so why whine? Before the league starts Blackgate and Sanctum of Rall will recruit more guilds, both of these servers are known to stack even when they have superior coverage.
Buying guilds for gold accusation coming from Blackgate? lol.
Come join the Strike Force family. If you are awesome and you know it, we are open for recruitment!
If you are looking for a competitive and stable WvWvW server to make your home, look no further. Join the Jade Quarry family
SF only runs 15, you know that Raz.
Good time on JQ BL tonight fighting the big SF zerg. Had a nice 2nd night on SoR
I am glad you enjoyed it
We JQers also love fighting the 15 man SoR forces during NA prime time everyday.
My post was to make it clear that once you guys were here, the treatment you got was normal. Had any other guild came to our server and made an effort to work hard in WvWvW they would have gotten the same support. But this does not changes the fact that most of us did not wanted TW to come to Jade Quarry. So spin it the way you want, I have made my point clear. Goodbye.
(edited by Moderator)
I will agree with Jet on this. I know a lot of WvWvWers on Jade Quarry and none of them wanted TW to stay.
None of us wanted TW to come to JQ at the first place when you asked, and it was clearly told to Indo by Sassarella.
For a server that didn’t want TW to go there, you sure were quick to form up on Indo, follow him around, take his orders, and let him lead you to winning fights.
I don’t know what world do you live in, but most of the things you are saying are untrue. Don’t mistake our community’s friendliness and our militia’s willingness to support new commanders as a form of “Indo Worship”.
If Indo did pin up and led a BL while he was on JQ then he must have got support of people on that map. Not because he is the center of our universe, just because Jade Quarry community is helpful like that.
Jade Quarry has won many fights and will continue to win without Indo and TW. Our server is filled with many great commanders who know how to be successful and entertaining. We have been through good and hard times and have become a stronger and closer community where everyone is an equal.
I have nothing against you or your guild, but I find it a bit distasteful when make up stuff about JQ community. It is fine if you regard Indo highly as he is your guild leader, but please don’t impose his “greatness” on JQ community, especially with made up stuff.
I dont know why any of u r feeding titan the dude is nothing but a troll. Titan is the same dude who on thes forums wanted the death of the JQ server, he has said it many times.
And if anyone from TW asked for gold for that week they transfered to JQ, they were trolling you. Did you give them gold ?? no you didnt. DID you have fun with TW on your server? yes you did all you gotta do is read the thread, and you would clearly see JQ saying they wished TW stayed and how much of a blast they had.
Now about the PPT bs, there is dif strokes for different folks. I have never cared about PPt always like the battles, if that ment i had to break into towers keeps for them then i did it.
Btw wvw is stilla coverage game. When sor was winning we had the best coverage, same for BG and JQ. Only way to win facing more coverage is use the third server for a 2v1, this weeks its against SOR and who cares its wvw kitten happens.
I respect Both BG and JQ servers greatly and many of the guilds, some ppl from there servers less so. I really dislike PPl who want nothing more then to see servers IMplode and fall apart. I also hate it when ppl spread BS about someone from other servers hacking accounts
Might be getting ahead of yourself on that 2nd paragraph. Did we have fun with them? Of course, but saying we “all” wanted them to stay? I will have to disagree with you there. No disrespect to TW of course.
i didnt say all of you did tho, i said you would see JQ wishing they would stay. I ment that as the vocal JQ on the forums who were asking TW to stay, in that thread.
I will agree with Jet on this. I know a lot of WvWvWers on Jade Quarry and none of them wanted TW to stay.
None of us wanted TW to come to JQ at the first place when you asked, and it was clearly told to Indo by Sassarella.
All shifts of our server have worked hard this week. We have worked hard as well at organizing the server the past two weeks. We are giving it 100%. JQ is 2 vs 1 just like everyone else during NA. It is the nature of the beast. I give our server the credit if we win because we have worked hard for it. Crediting hatred between SoR and BG is just false.
Props to JQ on the win this week, well deserved.
SoR just focused BG because they wanted them to sit down and stop chest thumping, but also its like the only way bg will come out and play
Nothing is decided yet, too much time left for anything to be final. SoR can come first and JQ can drop to 2nd/3rd.
Or JQ can come first and BG can come 2nd. Anything is possible.
Yes your point 1 makes much sense. Now that I think about it, major spikes in prices occur when some people farm a lot of gold in short time. Market Manipulators sense this and they will buy out specific items from supply line and re-list them at a much higher price. If it wasn’t for the sudden influx of easy gold, people would not pay such high prices and the attempt to manipulate the market will fail. Either the price of those items will come down or people will find a cheaper alternative.
Regarding point 2, I do agree that TP must be the biggest source of money deletion in game. But it does leads to polarization of wealth as an average player who does not farms much nor plays the TP will have to pay more for items and a market manipulator with tons of gold will only get richer and richer, increasing his manipulating power.
Then again I think one assumption that I made wrong was that market manipulators only get more and more profit out of TP. There may be some instances where their attempt to manipulate fails and they end up losing a lot of gold. Although 85% of that gold would still remain with the first sellers, the spread of gold in the market would be a more even one.
Thank you for clarifying mtpelion.
Wealth Concentration is something that will always happen in a free market. Some people are just really good at trading, plus money has a tendency to “attract” more money. Wealth Concentration can cause economic stagnation in the real world, but in the game we don’t have this issue because we can’t actually own property or control the creation of goods.
That is true. Thanks for all your input.
The main thing you need to know about the economy in this game is that there are two major forces:
1. Inflation – Every time you do a quest, kill a mob, or complete a dungeon you are “printing money”. Players that farm gold are the main source of inflation in the game.
2. Deflation – Every time money is deleted from the game you are fighting inflation. The single largest source of money being deleted is Trading Post listing and selling fees. This means that the greatest weapon in the game against inflation is having a lot of transactions. The problem with your idea is that all items will only be able to be sold once, which will drastically reduce the number of transactions being processed. This will in turn eliminate the majority of the money deletion allowing inflation to run rampant.
The other issue is that since there are less transactions, demand will quickly outpace supply leading to overall price increases on the items that are available.

Algreg, Jrunyon and mtpelion. Could any of you how this will actually increase prices?
Are you basing your assumption on a theory or have actually seen it happen in real life?
I mean not all economic theories work well in real life.
Also thank you for taking the time to reply.
Hi everyone, I would like to make a suggestion which I believe will help in controlling inflation (rising prices of items) in Guild Wars 2 economy. I know this suggestion will generate a lot of opposition but I hope we can all have a healthy discussion rather than a name calling fest.
The suggestion is: Make items account bound on acquire and soul bound on use – when they are purchased from Trading Post. (Some items need not be soul bound, for example crafting materials)
It means the person who got the item as a drop will sell it on Trading Post and the person who needs that item will buy it. Once he buys it item will become account bound and once he uses it on a character it will become soul bound. This way the market manipulators won’t be able to artificially shoot up prices of items as they cannot buy massive quantities for reselling later anymore. Long term this will lead to steadier prices. Prices may go up in future, but this increase will be more of a gradual one and not an overnight quadrupling of prices.
What benefit is there in a few individuals hoarding up all the money and driving up prices for everyone? This practice adds so much harm to the GW2 economy while giving no real benefit in return. Although when done in moderation the effects of this practice are not that severe, the element of human greed usually takes people much farther than moderation.
Since the game allows it to happen, I do not consider market manipulation as an illegal practice. I am not saying that the people who do it are exploiters. The point I am trying to make is that it is something that adds a lot of harm without adding any real benefits for an normal GW2 player. Some of my friends make money by manipulating the market too and I don’t think of them as bad people. So do not take my suggestion as a personal attack. I personally do not consider market manipulation as fun, it is not something that I enjoy doing. But some of you may find it quite enjoyable as it allows you to think of various different ways of staying one step ahead and playing the supply/demand line of Gw2 economy.
I also know that there might be a chance that my suggestion may not be technically possible to implement in game due to some coding or other restrictions.
Let’s have a healthy discussion about this.
My fellow Dolyak brethren, our revenge is complete!
“Carrying the burden of your supplies forever, we Dolyaks decided to take a break. The Great Golden Dolyak had summoned us in the lands of Tarnished Coast. Us Jade Quarry Yaks made this long journey and reached the windmill. Here we gathered with our fellow Yaks, some were of different colors and some were carrying gifts. The Great Golden Dolyak came forward and we all stood behind him. “We are going to do a Parade my little ones”, he said. “We must journey this land to show our strength and unity” were his words. So The Great One started to move north and we all followed him.
Jealous of our unity and graceful appearance, some evil creatures started to hit us. Their puny attack did no damage, so they scattered in different directions. Just as our peaceful parade was turned westwards, a large group of evil men from Fort Aspenwood came running at us. They slaughtered most of my fellow Dolyaks while I was seriously injured. Filled with anger and shocked by the evil behavior of those men and women from Animal Control guild, we Yaks decided to plot a revenge. And today we completed that revenge. We took their Tier 3 Garrison and dedicated it to our fallen Dolyak brethren.
It has been decided that if these evil men from Animal Control will not allow us to roam open lands, we will hold the next Dolyak Parade in their Garrison."

Whenever a patch has Ele changes included I come back to this thread and read it. Along with the official description of Elementalists, “Elementalists are multi-faceted spellcasters that channel elemental forces, making fire, air, earth, and water do their bidding. What they lack in physical toughness, they make up in versatility and the ability to inflict massive damage in a single attack.”
In my opinion if crafting is involved, Orichalcum will be required as well. So far all big events included items which required Orichalcum Ore/ingot.
Orichalcum ore is cheaper than before (used to be 3.8s, now around 2.5s), we will see how its price fluctuates as the event goes live.
I agree with you Jang. WvWvW is the reason I play GW2 and each coming day I feel less and less motivated to play. Lots of ppl have already stopped playing WvWvW, evidence is Tier 1 servers having outmanned buffs during various times.
ArenaNet please release new content and challenges for WvWvW. I want GW2 to succeed even more and a revitalized WvWvW will help in that. (infact I want every mmo to be great, so at any given time I have lots of options on which game to play).
At Rich Orichalcum node in Southsun Cove, me and a couple of people were trying to lure the Ancient Karka away. Just then we saw a bot teleport right over the rich ori node and started mining it. It was lvl 4, so much be using Black Lion mining tool. Ancient Karka killed it but like 4 seconds later the bot teleports again and starts mining. No wonder the market is flooded with cheap Orichalcum now.
I spend most of my time in WvWvW and do 1 Ori run before I log off. Bots have hit my only money making way pretty hard. (I spend what I make in WvWvW on seige and upgrades)
I have 2 lvl 80s and neither of them has finished personal story because I cannot stand being stuck with the most useless pixel ever created (Trahearne). I read WvWvW forums where people complain about coattailriders and then I look at Trahearne and he beats them all when it comes to being a freeloader. When I am not in battle I have to be his mommy and motivate him. In battle he is totally useless, he wont even attack a mob standing right next to him and die soooo fast. I will happily swap him with a risen Acolyte, at least it will inform me when enemy comes within 100 feet radius before it dies.
I would not mind being no.2 of Sieran or Forgal (have only done Priory and Vigil), at least they keep me entertained and are useful in battle. I felt sad when they died, I agree with OP that their sacrifice made no sense to me. It is similar to 1 man thinks he can delay a 100 man zerg in WvWvW. For me fun in personal story died with them.
I have no plans to complete my personal story. I do feel disappointed as it was so hyped by ArenaNet during the marketing phase yet it turns out to be lame (imo). I do giggle whenever I read the description for Personal Story subform “Personal Story. It really is all about you”.
Personal Story. It really is all about you…..NOT
You have raised many valid points here but I am sure your thread will be locked very soon. I did pre-purchase the game after seeing the “manifesto”. I trusted them because I heard great things about Guild Wars 1. All my friends have already quit the game, and I only log in to do my Ori mining run and log off for the day.
Many times a person will drop few Golem blueprints at a supply camp for team to build it and then move on to lead attack on another supply camp to get more supply. The owner (especially in case when there is only a single commander online on a map) has to be mobile to keep the momentum going.
Can Golems be made guild restrictive? Only the people from the guild of the person who dropped the Golem can use it.
I wanted to ask what is the official policy on people who steal your Golems and then take them away to be killed uselessly. This is done by cross-server sabotagers as well as trolls. They do this to delay or weaken your attack on enemy (their own server in case of cross server sabotagers). Golems are not cheap and they take a lot of supply to make.
WvWvW already has serious game breaking culling issues, it does not needs kittens who steal Golems. Guild Wars 2 rules of conduct #22 states “While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.” I believe these Golem stealers are breaking rule #22 (If PvP rules apply to WvWvW).
What steps does ArenaNet plans to takes to stop this bs from happening? And what is the best way to report these people so they get punished?
As stated in the title, does Arena Net team only considers Americans when it makes 1 time only event? What about countries where these “one time” events take place anywhere from 1 am to 5 am? Are these players inferior in any way when it comes to getting equal treatment? Did they not pay for the game as well and deserve to be treated equally?
I ask these questions because I disagree with the timing policy of Arena Net when it comes to these 1 time only events. If I remember clearly one of the devs posted the reason they do these events 1 time only is because as soon as the event starts it is streamed live and is on youtube in no time. I did Halloween 1 time event and the recent Lion Arch invasion. In case of Mad King, the cut-scene was one time while the dungeon was available for quite some time. But in case of this final Karka Lost Shores event, if you were not present during the 2 hr one time boss fight (no matter what time it was in your part of the world) then you miss it.
While some people are saying the event is still active in one overflow, when you message them they will be either offline or say “full”. But anyways it should not come to this that those who were unable to attend are now at the mercy of chance of getting into that overflow or are victims of a sick joke.
In my opinion, if Arena Net repeats these 1 time events taking into consideration other time zones as well it would be much better. I know Europeans can do this event late night, but still a large part of player base is at a disadvantage. How about the event repeating through out the day with the gap of lets say 6 hrs but you get reward only once. For example if you killed Ancient Karka you can loot the chest only once. If you re-do the event you will not get any rewards.
In case of these events seeing them on live stream or youtube gives you no considerable advantage. The amount of players present makes it almost impossible for the event to fail. Those who see it online before doing it will only ruin the surprise element for themselves. Repeating these events will prevent people from feeling left out. Some people miss the 1 time event for it starting at 2am-5am local time, they may be at work (yes some people have to work on Sunday) or some other real life commitment.
I took the time out to make this post to give my feedback because I want Guild Wars 2 to succeed. In fact as a fan of mmo genre I want most mmos to succeed so that at any given point of time I have the option to enjoy one great game or another. Till now I have played Guild Wars 2 a lot but things like these (and some major game breaking issues) hinder my enjoyment and I dont feel like spending much time in game.
I am not mad and neither has missing the event made my world shatter. At end of the day this is just a game and I could care less if I did not get new shiny pixels. But that being said I would have loved to enjoy the content which developers put in many hours to make. So Arena Net please be considerate and make it possible for players from different time zones to enjoy your hard work.

Do you think this may become a reality for Elementalists?
This is my first Arena Net game. I did not play Guild Wars 1 but always heard good stuff about it from the mmorpg community and how if was focused on skill rather than grind the best gear to win. So I was on Youtube searching for upcoming mmorpgs and I came across The Guild Wars 2 Manifesto. I trusted what they said in manifesto as it was not a random advertisement, but it was people who are involved in the development of the game talking about their vision. Plus the company had a good track record in Guild Wars 1. After seeing the manifesto I decided to trust Arena Net and pre-purchase Guild Wars 2.
I think Guild Wars 2 is a decent mmorpg. It is not as ground breaking as they claimed it to be, but still a decent mmorpg. The hype they themselves created about it revolutionizing mmorpg scene may have resulted in high game sales, but it has led to some customers who felt a bit misled. But I will again say Guild Wars 2 is still a decent mmorpg which has potential to be a good game if they fix some of serious game breaking issues.
And now Ascended gear comes. If it is obtainable only from dungeons or my spending 100+ Gold then I won’t have it. I absolutely hate farming/grinding and the reason I payed for Guild Wars 2 is because the manifesto said grinding is not required to be on equal footing with other players. Now fanboys will ask “OmG u so mad, u feel so entitled, why u wanna have best gear?”. My answer is that the reason I payed for Guild Wars 2 is because it was promised to not to be another “grind to win mmorpg”. Now you will ask how it is win to have better gear in GW2? I will tell you that unless you do WvWvW by running with a 80 man zerg spamming your auto attack button, gear DOES matter. There are many scenarios like 1v1, 1vs2, 1vs3, you on 5k HP and 2 feet away from your keep portal with your immune to damage skill on cooldown, defending your yak which is almost at the supply drop point from 1-5 enemies, enemy killing Keep Lords and Camp Supervisors faster and capturing the area while your group gets there 2 seconds later. In PvE a group of 6 players with Ascended weapons and you hit a mob at the same time, while they get the loot you fail to get enough damage to register your kill etc etc etc etc. I can give you more examples of WvWvW and non WvWvW scenarios as well but those who are willing to understand have understood by now.
Arena Net, I am just patiently waiting to see what changes have been made if you provide the patch notes. My appeal to you is please stay true to your promises made in Guild Wars 2 manifesto. I am hoping you will make sincere efforts to keep the trust players who payed for GW2 after seeing manifesto have in you.The world does not needs another grind/pay to win mmorpg.
Raw candy corn nodes will no longer periodically appear in game.

Hi Arenanet,
First of all thank you for making a decent game like Guild Wars 2. Despite its various issues I do like playing it and I am sure in future the game will be even more awesome (not complaining, just showing my high hopes of you). I do have a request to make.
In your future content updates, I would love for you to design an instance where I dont have to go and kill, or see ugly undead/risen creatures. That instance would be a beautiful place, scenically breathtaking, where players can engage in creative activity and reap some rewards from it as well. I know there are many beautiful places in Tyria, but they lack the engagement you get at other much uglier places.
I have been playing games since I was quite young and I have become really really tired of killing. Daily kills, monthly kills, open world kills, WvWvW kills etc. No matter which game you pick it has “Killing and fighting ugly creatures” at its core. I know GW2 likes to be innovative, so please make an instance where killing something, seeing ugly life forms or jumping endlessly are not the main things to do, rather something beautiful, creative and engaging. Thank you.
Note to people who will say,“Omg carebear!” – Since I have leveled by char to 80, got the gear I wanted, I mostly do WvWvW when I play. I am no carebear, I like a good fight but at the same time would love to engage in something beautiful, creative or engaging.
Note to Fanbois – Please do not take this suggestion in negative light. I like GW2 and I play it. Yes the game can improve at certain things but I am sure Arenanet is working on those issues. Giving a polite suggestion is not hating.
My fellow players, if you have some ideas on what such type of place can be then please post them here (no Farmville suggestions lol, never played it). Lets keep it constructive and creative.
Why are the forums full of complaints about bots, RNG, and grinding? Do people understand that this game has no monthly fees and no tier gearing system other than skins? Here is a sticky list of Q & A that should answer most topic posts:
Q. Why hasn’t Anet got rid of all the bots!?
A. The bots have no real impact on YOU. If you need a mob for an event you only need to tag it to get credit. And there is a anti-farming code in place that keeps bots from having an advantage over YOU from farming a certain area hours on end. Sure they will use the gold to sell online but luckily YOU have the same option to buy gold without the chance of losing your account via the marketplace.Q. Why isn’t there a set recipe for precursors?!
A. Precursors being RNG via the forge is good for the economy. This keeps trade supplies moving on the market and gives people a reason to farm nodes. If you don’t like tradeskilling or farming then you are more than welcome to buy gold via the marketplace and buy the items outright. But this game has no monthly fee so there is no real life monetary loss if you don’t get the item right away .Q. Why is there so much grinding for karma, money, dungeon tokens!?
A. That is the end game. This isn’t a monthly fee game that provides game changing upgrades via raiding. At level 80 and full exotics nothing changes except how you look. You don’t have to play everyday to stay caught up with everyone else and you aren’t missing out on something that would make you a stronger character if you choose not to grind. And once again if you want to look pretty without farming there are gear sets for sale on the marketplace.Summary. You are playing a game that’s only income is the marketplace exchange and the original purchase of the game. There are going to be certain things that they won’t provide due to financial limitations. It should be apparent by now that ANET doesn’t expect you to play one character at level 80 forever as they have created great stories for each race. But the best part about all this is that you don’t have to play 10 hours everyday to enjoy the content and no one is complaining about your gear because the stats are trivial. So enjoy the game for what it is and take your time after all you aren’t paying a monthly fee.
Dear OP, it seems you have not played the numerous F2P mmorpgs out there. They also generate their income from Item mall (BLTC here). Infact you dont even need to pay $60 to get their game. Being F2P cannot be used as an excuse in present times.
BOTS do have a negative effect on players, the anti-farming codes effect players too, and if you have been to any area where the mobs drop decent value drops, it is even hard to get a tag with the amount of bots spamming their skills.
If you think getting lvl 80 and exotic gears does not changes anything then I invite you step out of PvE and try some WvWvW with your normal white/blue gear and then full exotic set. You will see the difference in your ability to do damage and your ability to survive.
Anet made hundreds of millions of dollars through game sales only, so I dont think financial restriction will kick in just after 1 month of launch (I know they have to run servers for long, but still). It is okay to be a fanboi if you want to, but please dont discourage others from making constructive criticism. Constructive criticism is what takes a game forward (if it is listened), not mindless hating, nor mindless praising.
Hi,
After this new patch I have got stuck 5 times while on flat ground. It has happened in WvWvW and sPvP. In WvWvW it happened 3 times when I was ressing a person. I got stuck in the ress position and could not move. Twice this happened out of combat (no enemies nearby and I had no movement debuff – I was able to tele back and resume) and the 3rd time in combat, a stuck Ele is a dead Ele.
Fourth and fifth time it happened in sPvP which I went to as I have having problem of invisible enemies in WvWvW. Both time I got stuck and was stuck for a min+, my team had to play with 4 players as I could not tele to spawn while being stuck (I was out of combat, no enemy was near me and I had no movement debuff on me).
I am posting this here so as to know if anyone else has experienced this after the latest patch. I have never been stuck before and this is really ruining my fun atm.
The purpose of this post is NOT putting down any Devs as I know developing a game is a very complex task and one out of place line of code can cause a lot of problems.
A request to the forum police: Please if you are going to lock this thread let a few people reply first that way I will know if this is a problem on my side or others are experiencing too. If it is my side I can try uninstalling and installing again.
