I’m currently on Aurora Glade, and I would like to enjoy the full WvW experience, with big zergs and so on. What server do you recommend? Vabbi?
Same here. I don’t have the expansion and I can’t find it anywhere in gem store.
I’m also on EU.
And my question is What should i do? Send message to Gaile or any other mod? I don’t think it’s right to leave it there.
You’re welcome

Got it from my first survival game
Nice try Kiel supporter.
I’m voting for Evon. If you want to know why, here it is:
I don’t do Fractals, i haven’t played the first Guild Wars, i rarely use waypoints, i don’t buy keys (only when there’s a discount on them). I don’t care about in-game cash.
I will vote for Evon because Charr who leads the biggest trading company in Tyria and wants to get rich no matter what looks more interesting than leader of soldiers that will always fight for good and freedom – i’m actually getting bored with all of these games where you have to rescue your town/village/wife/potatoe. Seeing a “neutral” character who leads Lions Arch would be really cool.
This is kind of nonsence. You can’t bring up these wannabe-advices based on your speculations about upcoming discounts.
Typical player plays 3 hours a day and does all world bosses? Really? That’s not “typical” at all.
You mentioned end-game players that port all-over the place and/or buy a lot of gems. Who the hell does all world bosses every day? What if they are some players that don’t play “typical”, do dailies, dynamic events, play with alts and they are just enjoying the game? It’s not about how many keys per month you buy.
There are some “elitist” who just can’t live without being 2 minutes faster.
There are three things you can do:
- Learn that dredge fractals exploit
- Find another party or (even better)
- Don’t do PUGs and do it with guildies.

If you’re fed up with getting items you’ll never use just destroy them.
Some time ago i’ve read about one guy who equipped his lvl 80 Mesmer in full exo gear with Twillight, then he decided it’s not cool enough so he deleted his mesmer because he wanted that Legendary on another character and he thought deleting character who used it first would un-bind that legendary. Kinda sad, i’d like to make items account bound from sould bound.
Come on ANet!
Such useful and not-so-hard-to-make feature!
My mouse almost died while i was buying food for Zhaitaffy!
How it could be done in-game: Talk to vendor -> Right-Click on item (buy multiple) -> Type number
Pretty please
Those bonuses are just too small to be restricted to one character.
No thoughts? You guys are OK with WvW rank being account bound?
I can’t tell how disappointed how i was when i switched from my ele to ranger and i found out i have exactly 0 WxP. It should be account bound for the same reason PvP rank is account bound. Or ANet just wants to demote alts again?
I have a jetpack and I can say that they do not have any noticable particles as of yet. I did notice particles on the gloves thought. (Drippy)

You got that as a drop?
Hi,
I think it’s nearly impossible to get rich in GW2. I do a lot of events, guild missions, yet i am so poor. Can you make some solid cash without farming 24/7?
Yup. If you are as casual as you claim to be, you can just do daily bosses, maybe some cof and other additional stuff. You can easily get 10g/day.
If you can’t even do that then you don’t deserve all that fancy stuff you want. There are no magical ways to get rich in a blink of an eye. (unless you get incredibly lucky)
I still don’t understand how can casual player get 10g/day.
LB/SB Spec: Mishmash of PVT/Cleric/Knights has me at 3K attack, 25% Crit (0 Damage) 2K Toughness, 3K Armor, 850 (1100 with Sigil of Life up) healing, 18500 hits, 3 passive regens (Total ~350/sec) and a 0-10-30-0-30 spec with traits for Barkskin, Vigorous Training, Hide in plain sight, Vigor on heal, Compassion training, 30% Pet Crit Damage.
Dwayna Runes/Sigils of Energy on Weapons
Mango Pie and Sharpening Stone
Has Stun break and Condition Removal (SoR/Nature Elite)
Skills: TU/SoTW/SoTH/SoR/Nature Elite (Self Rez is so win)
Simply sharing as I love this build (Originally had more hits/healing but now working in Crit Rate to supplement DPS a touch)
Whereas I see most Rangers using pet to hinder/CC for the Ranger to unload DPS I do the inverse, I cripple and CC my enemies to Facilitate heavy hits with my Owl/Raven..
Where do you use this build? PvP, WvW or PvE?
Is soldier’s gear good for Fractals?
Hi,

125 chests, 5 skins
82 chests, 3 skins
So far it looks like this
gear – power/vit/toughness
shortbow+greatsword and axe+warhorn
sigils – ?
runes – defensive
And with this you could get three +101 stats on chest plate.
Let’s say I have a Ranger and I want to be tanky guy.
I want Toughness + Vitality + Healing Power but this combination doesn’t exist so you have to take another one.
You may think this is a bad example but those 9 stats combinations doesn’t provides much diversity.
(edited by Axesome.1025)
As I said this would create more stats combinations and variety, if I’m not wrong there is 9 stats combinations and that’s not much. You could have power+condition damage+condition duration for necro, toughness+vitality+healing power for survival etc…
I think it’s good idea, please don’t let this topic lost.
People are complaining about lack of build and stats variety and I thought this could be fixed by adding a new type of transmutation stones – masterwork.
You could use these to combine three items into one and you would have to select one stat from each item (not same one), skin, rune etc…
I think many people would appreciate this, however what do you think about it?
Will Knight’s gear help you in dungeons?
I thought you were referring to my post above yours suggesting a weekly with more powerfull enemies in certain area’s
Sorry, didn’t read that one before however your suggestion in great.
I’d keep it simple by awarding you with 1 laurel for leveling up 10 times.
Very bad idea.
What about new players with low-level characters?
The number of players in said area would be big enough for lowbies to easily tag along with other players.
Evil Mode
Plus we could get our daily heals for ressing them
/Evil Mode
How could lowbie pass level 80 if he’s lowbie?
I’d agree with 1 laurel for 10 levels.
Very bad idea.
What about new players with low-level characters?
I think I will grind for Soldier’s gear – Power + Toughness is great for WvW/Dungeons/PvE and Vitality will help you in higher level Fractals.
For weapons I’d say Shortbow + Sword/? or Greatsword.
Either precision or condition damage, depending on what you want to do.
You either mix Power/Toughness/Precision/Crit% for direct damage or…
You mix Power/Toughness/Condition/Precision for condition damage. You get the mix by having your armor be primarily one stat (i.e. Knight’s, crafted), your weapons another (i.e. Condition or Berserker for ranged; Knight, Soldier, Condition or Berserker on melee) and your jewelery/back pieces another stat.
Is condition damage usable in fractals/dungeons/PvE?
Vitality is arguably one of the least favorable stats. Before the ragers jump on this post, let me explain a few things:
Vitality raises your healthpool but a common misunderstanding is that a larger HP is a counter to burst damage. Any GW2 PvP worth their digital weight in salt will tell you that Toughness is the counter to burst damage (around 1600-1800).
Your HP is static and once its gone its gone. Healing power acts as a sort of “soft healthpool.” Guardians use Healing Power to great effect to counter their profession’s lowest health in the game – and I believe that’s intentional by the developers. Rangers are on average with HP size but we lack the number healing abilities like Guardians or Warriors have.
I would recommend staying away from both Healing Power and Vitality. If you must, put on enough Vitality via gems and runes to get you to around 16,000 or 17,000. Stacking upwards of 20,000 means you’re suffering in your damage output.
With regards to Toughness, as BroScientist mentioned above, 2000 is overkill. I’ve run with that much before and it can be fun but I noticed a significant deficit in my damage output. I keep mine around 1500-1600 while holding a ranged weapon and 1700-1800 while holding melee weapons.
As a Roamer and small team skirmisher on a Tier 2 server, I stand by my statement that Toughness is King in WvW. The zerglings can run with their glass cannon builds while I’m off solo capping supply camps against two thieves.
So what stat combination would you recommend? Power + Toughness + ?
And i think they ARE completely useless.
What makes greater role in survival build – healing power or vitality?
I think it’s pretty steep to buy tonic for 10 tokens if you can buy 1 hour potion with +10% damage outcome and 10% dmg reduction for 1 token.
So the power/vitality/toughness seems to be the best all-around stat.
What about runes/sigils/weapons/pets?
In dungeons, you have a chance to get tonics which transforms you into certain creature.
It has no costume-brawl skills and tonics ruins your chance to loot rare gear item.
My questions are:
1) Do you think dungeon tonics are useless/worthless?
2) Why does people buy them on TP?
3) Would you remove them from dungeon loot table/dungeon vendor?
4) Would you buy tonic from dungeon vendor?
(edited by Axesome.1025)
Anyway, Knight/Soldier/Cleric has power+toughness, the question is to choose between precision, vitality and healing power.
(edited by Axesome.1025)
I ask because i want to know what dungeon i should start grinding
Never rely on a single ability to compensate for a passive stat like Toughness.
If you read any guide/blog from any the well-respected, highly-talented Guild Wars 2 PvPers, they will all say one thing: Toughness is king in WvW.
As a WvW Roamer, its easy to spot who’s not running with 1700+ Toughness. In the case of Rangers using Greatsword, I’ve seen many who attempt to use 3. While Greatsword 3 is an amazing ability, its also very easy to recognize. Once the ability has been used the target is easy prey and downed before they can use the ability again.
Do not rely on one single ability to survive in WvW.
With that said, there is no such thing (for a Ranger) that is an All-Around PvE/WvW/high-level Fractal build. While you might be able to use the same build in WvW and PvE, 10+ Fractals require exact traits for your exact role. Fractals and PvE are two different games; Fractals and WvW aren’t even in the same league.
Short answer: there is no One Build; at least, not for Rangers. Warriors, maybe, but not us.
So Knight/Soldier/Cleric?
I use a different build for wvw and pve. For pve I max out marksmanship(mainly for trait:active signets affect you on SOS) and wilderness survival for a toughness focused build. For WvW I max out marksmanship and skirmishing to maximize damage potential. In wvw I find that toughness is not needed because if you use GS it’s number 3 ability is more than enough to get out of sticky situations.
Do you use your PvE build in FotM and other dungeons?
Hi guys,
I’ve decided to create a all-around survival build good for PvE, WvW, high-level FotM and other dungeons.
EDIT: Stat combinations should be compatible with ascended gear :)
Thanks for answers.
What stats combinations and weapons would you recommend?

They can just ask the court to shut that site down like they did with megaupload right?
I really think they’d save themselves a lot of bother if they’d just announce update dates properly.
28th US
29th EU
29th AUS / Asia. It’s not hard is it? It’s just a couple of seconds extra typing. Gotta laugh at the Americans saying “oh it’s obvious that it’s catered for us” – showing their typical total ignorance of the rest of the world.
And the rest of the world showing their typical inability or unwillingness to perform logic surrounding something like timezones and the physical location of anet’s offices. (It’s why the USA is still #1)
I agree with you.
The main problem here is that even MMO like LOTRO managed to start events at all servers at the same time in every timezone. Why can’t ANet do that too?
