Hi there! I’m a hybrid necro (staff, d/w) just looking for some fun folks who’d want to pvp on occasion. I usually pvp about twice a day, several matches at a time (EST timezone).

Yes, I know I said the dreaded “C” word in my topic heading, but I know the maps and I’m comfortable with my build.

Yeah, fair. I find the prevalence of such bosses a little annoying. BUT it’s there, its how a lot of people play, and we have to deal with it :/

And yes, karka queen has that mechanic. Hmmm. Not quite as fun on her, though, imo. Don’t know how implementing something different might work. shrug

(First of all, mods: I wasn’t sure where else to put this, so I hope this is alright!)

Some of the discussion about the MKLabyrinth bosses got me thinking about how they could be improved/made more fun, and I found myself thinking back to how much I enjoyed Scarlett’s funhouse.

I really loved the inclusion of external mechanics (cannonballs, TNT barrels, etc.) as an addition to fighting Scarlett normally. This is also my favorite part of the dredge fractal – having to kite the final boss under the pipes to keep Superheated up (I’m always the one on switches!).

In a recent thread on how to improve the labyrinth, I suggested modifying Grand Vizier’s abilities (as well as his health!!!!!!!!!), and I started thinking about the goofy fight with the Blood Prince in the opening story instance, where you had to lob pieces of candy corn at him.

While I understand the difficulties of implementing mechanics like this for an environment like the MKL, where there are huge groups of people there solely to farm, I think it would be way more fun to include even just one simple mechanic that makes the boss a LITTLE bit more than a tank-and-spank.

Reduce the stupid amount of health that grand vizier has, and stop making him spam his rockets so much. kitten how many times do you have to hear that bosses with one shot hits and 100000 million health is not the same as fun.

I have to agree. I haven’t quite understood much of the complaining I’ve seen, but the Grand Vizier is a pain in the bum. Some of my favorite bosses in the game (GL, fotm grawl shaman, etc) have a REASONABLE amount of health and have abilities that are dangerous and need to be avoided/mitigated, but do not literally 2-shot players who start at100% health.

The difficulty really arises with the sheer number of players, making it exceptionally difficult to see where the projectiles will land. On the flip side, the candy corn spikes that form can virtually be ignored. While I understand you can’t quite make him a multi-phase boss similar to GL I think a better balance of abilities (and significantly less health) might make GV a bit more fun.

Since I’m so new, I don’t actually know how the cross-realm thing works. Would you mind explaining it? I’m so used to WoW guilds (and I haven’t even played that since before the most recent expac!).

I’m new to GW2 (though I was a hardcore WoW raider for AGES) and I’m looking for a fairly active, but also relatively casual guild. I’m in graduate school at the moment, so I don’t have tons of time for guild events. However, I would definitely love to have chill people to run instances with (and getting a little advice on my profession wouldn’t hurt, either ). I’m not sure what you’re looking for in terms of experience (I’m on my first character, and I’m only level 13 for the moment!), but I learn fast and would love to start participating in WvW events and such.

Greetings! I’m new to GW2 but I’m a WoW veteran (former hardcore raider) – looking for some fun people to hang out with as I finish leveling and hopefully get into some instances, pvp, wvw, etc. At present, school restricts me to casualing, but I’d love at some point to get more seriously into instances and such. I would prefer a mature guild (I don’t want to worry about having to restrict my cussing ;p), but I’m open to any friendly environment.
