Different runs. But yesturday we killed every single without deaths, so idk.
Sanctum scramble is kind of fun by itself, but I didnt got even bronze timer, lol! And I thought I was good at jumping. Need to see some walkthrough.
Dont know how to get gold on advs like Bugs in the branches, or Tendril torchers. Silver is my highest for them.
Confirmed: Toxicity in Gw2 equals wasteland

Dont know what toxi are you talking about, but it sure coming not from elite and “l2p” players, but the other way. And to my great sadness whiners started to complain about whatever even in map chat.
A few days ago I was peacefully crabbing some Auric Basin, and there was some enraged player, who was just straight up hard-blaming Anet about some minor pvp stuff (like some skill is damaging more than intended, or whatever). Why cant people go and complain on forum, or in pvp lobby? Why some pvp talk is happening in pve maps? And that person just wont shut up. Of course I left for another map, bcz no point of making fuss when you can simply teleport away.
Idk… almost all fractals, dungeons and raids I was pugging has been pretty good, and people didnt talk nonsense, and were behaving. Actually learned some new tricks there. Well, of course from time to time there were some wild people, who were apparently on a drugs or something, but in fractals/dungeons we were able to do all things even being effectively 3-4ppl. In raids I’ve seen only good knowing and behaving people, and raiding was fun and smooth (closed raid yesturday in about 3 hours, including afking and DC-s, got Eternal title). Dont know why ppl are afraid of teamspeak, lol. Its actually funny most of times, all kinds of words and emotions.
IMO, most of ppl who are seriously affected by toxicity should either level Itzel Poison Mastery, or just seek problem in themselves, rather than throwing all this stuff in forums.
But, but, the raid is friendly enough as it is. I’ve killed all three bosses with sort of a pugs, without static guild group, and even while we had some difficulties in first, but in whole, it all was with a light and friendly atmosphere, jokes, and fun. We just all knew what to do in encounters, and ran good gear (even without gearcheck). Dont know if we are qualified for hardcore/elite ppl, but we did it pretty well. And intened to repeat success from now on.
Still I’d agree with some easy-mode for ppl who just dont get what the raids are, have problems with concentration, field of vision, gear, doing their job right, and so on. Just without most of loot, and without legendary collection. Not just reduced drop or whatever – without chances at all. Period.
Went on link to vote for timers are fine on all bosses. Because they are fine.
Btw, can I ask to post some videos with 4 mins left on VG, 3 mins on Gorsi/Sabetha? Just for sake of my self-improvement. Thanks in advance.
Raids wont destroy anything, these rant threads are trendy now, or what? Just stop it.
These threads about how ppl want to getting raid content done while semi-afk autoattack style just needs to go away. Seriously, OP, timers are now not an issue. There were kills of VG with 30+ seconds left, Gorse I don’t remember how much left (but time was not an issue whatsoever), and Sabetha is most time-independent boss (about 1m20s left on timer when I killed her).
When ppl know what to do (and mechanics in these 3 bosses are not so difficult to remember, really), and do it right, boss will eventually go down. Of course there will be some accidents, but as long as ppl know what they did wrong, and trying to correct themselves, trying to be better for the sake of people with them, fun and result – raids are just so fun and pleasant thing to do, really.
Of course when you head in in full PTV or nomad gear, or something – you yourself ought to realise you doing something wrong. You need to be good skilled and geared player, and this is an ABSOLUTE fact, like you it or not. Well, even gear dont matter much, just right ascend weapon, right ascend trinkets (easiest to asquire), and you’ll do even with exo armors no problem. But you need to play right and know your class and encounter (watch some guides, or whatever, rest will come with practice).
I myself by no means a top player, or elitist, or whatever. I have respect for ppl I am raiding with, but only when they themselves respects fellow raiders with their actions (things I mentioned before). If they dont respect others by walking into raid in whatever thrash gear they want, dont listen to RL, cant do simple things right, or just take wrong attitude (like “I play how I like, not how needed in raid”), why should I respect them in return?
Well, whatever, my point is slightly off the theme. Just find some good pug. I killed all bosses with pugs easily (not without efforts ofc), and make friends with them. All your problems with timers will disappear, I tell you.
Oh well, I love GW2 lore, and loved previous stories, LS, and even PS. But with all my love I can say – this was waaaaay too short for an expansion with a whole Elder Dragon. Remembering how it was in personal story. We gathered allies, mustered strength, researched, built fortresses, there was steady progress in enemy territory, taking down enemy leutenants, and final assault.
Looking on what we got in HoT. All fleet is in pieces. Soilders in chaos, friendly forces minimal. Heroes are missing, taken by an enemy. And there our Destiny Edge v2.0 marches straight on.
Almost without any research – Rata Novus scouting got us almost nothing, except vague “All elder dragons have a weakness”. You dont say!
Almost without any allies. Frogs are just kind of “lets trade – you help us, we help you” x2. Exalted just taken egg from commander. Thats all. No ancient relics, no enchanted armors to help our forces in the fights, no useful knowledge. Nothing. Okay.
And here we are, standing before half-consumed Traherne, who suddenly got twice as big. And here comes straight rip-off from Destiny’s Edge book. Lets just jump into Mordremoth’s mind (who is also master of mind-manipulation himself) with 1 or 2 possible betrayers (Caithe and Canach). And after some mumbo-jumbo with rifts (what the hell is it? where did these come from?) your typical Mordremoth is defeated.
I literally facepalmed all over after the end of HoT story.
A word about locations design. Its like best part of the game for me. Just so godly wonderful. This trunk-like final area was such a sight from afar… just wow.
But story-writing become considerably worse, if you ask me. There was just no “soul” and light humor, which was in previous episodes (I mean LS and PS).
I don’t believe this guy. All this sounds really suspicious.
Skada damage meter is a very good tool for example. Basically its extended recount. It measures effective dps (not just raw), it shows amount of damage taken by boss/adds from each player and his abilities, it shows deaths with a good backlog (to check what ppl are died from), dispels, interrupts, buff applications, and other things. Also “Exorsus raid tools” providing good functionality, although I’m using it only as specific boss-mod.
Even more werid reason now.
As I said before, today’s meters are amazing. They can take into account all types of things. And “true skilled” people wont have the reason to fear meters.
Also I reeeeeally dont think they’ll be used on open-world zergable content such as tequatl. It makes no sense.
Actually it is you who didnt address my arguments in any solid enough way.
>>even disprove your argument with valid counter arguments.
But… but… I haven’t seen any valid counter arguments from you. What are you even talking about? Only thing I’ve seen from you is some roundabout kitten similar to “lets all be friends, we can talk this together!”
You know, in this world not everything is decided this way. Sometimes you just need to face clear and honest results. Thats what meters and tools are for.
But thats okay, I’m sure you will be able to gather pug raid and clear it all with your attitude. Which is not serious even. Time will sure prove who was right and wrong.
Actually I think Anet will give in to casual’s cry and tears (and there will be ones, I’m like 300% sure, just remember threads about how deadly Lt. Kholer and pre-nerf Dwayna were). And then they’ll nerf raids into ground. Thats just how economic works nowdays. Majoriy always wins.
I think you all here see me as puffed up elitist. But I am not. As long as bosses are dying (and within a reasonable time) I dont give a kitten what gear or builds are my team running. But it its not the case – here meters should come forward. Thats all I want to say when I’m rooting for meters.
Inverse.2967, its about time I stop looking at your posts seriously.
Have you considered ppl can lie?
I’m just telling you that meters are the only real option to see what is what in fight. No vague guesses, no observations, no roundabout stuff. Just straight, clear and honest numbers.
But in the end without actual damage numbers or AT LEAST gearchecks you wont be able to see clearly who is underperforming.
For example, some warrior may execute mechanics and so, use 100b off cooldown, etc etc. But what if he full cleric or PTV just because “he likes it this way”? Or his traits are completely wrong? Damage numbers will tell you this. But you wont be able to see it yourself, even if you’ll install a droid with camera to follow him.
And its just one example.
I gave you my argument in the post you obviously didn’t take time to process:
GW2’s mechanic creates most difference in effectiveness through timing and positioning while being aware to the encounter and your role in the event.
My claim is basically very much in line with the posts made by the raid developeress herself. So this position is based on the best 1st lvel source available for speculating about this unreleased content.
I’m just telling you wont be able to analyze 9 players being involved in fight yourself.
Eponet, dont nitpick please. You making it sound like its some kind of disaster. Of course good RL-s will take all it into account. After all we need to look not for raw dps inbetween all classes, but how each player is performing with his own class/build. Its stupid to compare warrior and necromancer in terms of dps. I’m not talking that no necros should be in raids. Just for each class will be some damage tiers, and if you are not in good tier within your class (when you alive ofc) its a signal you doing something wrong.
No, thanks )
Why are you telling raid leader should just focus his eyes on other members, guessing all that skill moves animations? And its with 9 more people. Sounds like you won’t be able to do it yourself, so please dont spread nonsense.
And why you calling meters torturing exactly? Bring me a real reason, not just some kittening about how bad players are having hard time with it, and other inconsistent matters.
“And in any event, the reason behind logs is so you can analyze them at your leisure after the raid, it’s exceedingly rare that you go through logs during a raid in order to find a problem.”
Today’s logs are amazing, man. We are writing a live log, and if fights go very wrong, our RL just glance into it and within a few minutes can accurately pinpoint a problem.
You guys who saying meters are not needed, seem to care so much for mental health of ppl who cant pull their weight. But you COMPLETELY forgetting about other players, who are wiping because of them, just for being in same team/party/squad. Why these players must just stay silent and endure, because someone cant play properly? They did nothing wrond, so why they must fail because of someone else? Just answer me.
People will be kittens sometimes, but in principle, it’s not supposed to be a matter of personal insults. It’s a matter of win or lose.
Its exactly what I wanted to say. Nothing personal is involved in meters. People just want to make their group work. As long as bosses being killed – I could care less about meters. But when there are lots of wipes – it is 100% of some ppl not doing what are they supposed to do. Meters just helping in exposing who is slacking off and in what manner exactly. Its not like its end of the world. People are learning, and so. They can give advices one another to help improve. And without meters there will be just painful and long wipe processes without knowing the reason, when its not obvious like some stood in aoe, and so.
As some ppl said already in other thread – its just strange ppl thinking they wont need damage in raids. There WILL be need in dps in raid groups. Its just natural. And its nothing wrong with wanting to damage more optimal way.
But with modern raid tools you can also see what skills raiders used, how much, when, and many-many other things. Who died from what, where fails was, etc.
Looking into this definetely will lead to improving performance.
Thought so. Just wanted to know real reason behind your hating of raid tools and meters. It just made for people to learn and get better. Like indicators. If numbers are low – you doing something wrong. And so on.
No he isn’t. He said he hated it. People don’t have to be crappy players to hate the kittenty attitude some players have.
And making assumptions like that… well, you know the saying.
Well maybe he will just prove that he’s a good player by linking his account in wow? ) I guess its not an option. Its just why hate raid tools if you are good? I cant see the point here. Its never been an issue to half-descent players.
Totally agree with OP.
The problem with WoW, is the UIs like dps meter, etc. Made raids like a robot thing. Thats the problem, it is not built for humans, but robots/hybrids instead. Swtor didnt allowed these things like dps meters… and raids are more successful.
Well, just no. UI’s are the only way to ensure all players doing their job, not failing, following tactics and so on. Its just way of measurement. Like grades in school and so. If player is not doing his job – he should be kicked. Dont tell me about rights, and so on. You dont want to be kicked? Its simple – just play good. Follow tactics, know encounter and your class. Thats all.
SWTOR’s raids are not really more successful. They are buggy as hell, and with clunky mechanics. Some concepts are nice there though.
1) WoW failed to deliver succesfull raids because of their 3rd party Uis and addons. It become guild exclusive thing and guilds kicked many players, because of their dps or other things.
But its not failing. WoW-s raids are best at this moment among all other MMO-s. And yes, if you are bad player, you dont deserve it and should be kicked. Or just go to LFR, this pathetic version of raid-like content with same boss models. And even there ppl are failing so hard. Just yesturday my guildies did some lfr for quest things, and saw domething like… 14-16k dps. On dps classes. Hunter, etc. I can give three times more being in tank spec, lol. Surely you wont fall as low to defend them? Cat walking on keyboard can squeeze more dps than such players.
2) WoW you where doomed if not good in raids and you should beg guild masters and officers to play….
Well you said it yourself – “if not good in raids”. Please think of a reason for raid leader to get you in raid if you are not good? Well, actually they can bring some deadweight players on easy farmable bosses. But on progression – they will never let you in. And will be absolutely right in this.
What I didnt liked in the beta raid is :
1) all bosses have the same looks with different colors
2) 4 bosses but not trash mobs
3) I experience no loot in the first 3 bosses.
4) it is very gear demanding
5) all bosses are very near each other, you dont have to do anything to get into them…
all these 5 elements bind together, made me give it like 2/10 score.. lol
1) All? There was only one.
2) No, 1 boss and 3 trash mobs with tutorial purpose.
3) Bcz there were not bosses. Actually boss itself too dont give loot, and Anet told it beforehand. Its there just for testing.
4) Well, you know, its RAID after all. Its meant to be gear demanding. You cant faceroll it.
5) Wat is this even? No1 gives a kitten about your score on this, if you failed to understand these basics I told you about.
But it was beta and as they stated, raids will come in a later date and I am sure, they will change them allot.
I hope they wont lower the bar on raids for casuals. You know, I’m a pretty casual myself, but I know how to learn and to get good. And I will enjoy raids as they are.
Guys. I know why you all have no pets. My pet eaten them all. And grown a bit after that.
Its great, it spews flame nicely, it got a good model, and a fair scaling, but, man, you know, wyverns dont fly straight through solid mountains. Right in and out it goes. And it looks like full WTF. Just do something about it. Please.
Also got my yesturday, leading a group of first-timers from guild. We did all achievements in one go, except not all passed the “Grounded”.
Interesting theme. Seen enough kick attempts for my ranger friend when we go together in a dungeon. When I warned them not to do that – they leave themselves, lol. Although I can understand ranger hate, but its not like they all came from a conveyor.
Anyway. Something is not right. Either you run into taxi with open world content (obviously you dont need party for open world), or you are really not reading lfg. Chances that every single time you run into strange people who care about AP, are like non-existent.
Also I’m suggesting OP to read exellent book “Edge of Destiny”. Not only it gives a lot of insights from a standpoint of lore and characters, but its also fun and enjoyful to read.
What it was just now, I don’t even…
So much rage, I’ll probably get a reprimand. I’ll take it. This insanity has gone on long enough. I am ashamed to be a part of this community today. We can’t even keep the threads that have nothing to do with the mad ranting free of that mad ranting.
Just… ridiculous.
Almost exactly same feelings. My previous post here got deleted, lol. In it I was saying, that $50 or $100 price is perfectly reasonable, and whoever are saying they aren’t, should probably get a job, or something. Don’t know, how it could insult people, though, because it is a fact – such prices are not much nowdays.
And I’m ashamed to see community become like that.

DC-ing today every 2-5 minutes. 7:11:3:191:101 everytime.
I’ll probably be one in minority here, but my favorite are Orr locations. They are not ugly at all, in fact there is charming heavy beauty of an ancient capital. Huge ruined temples, grotesque monuments, desolate squares. Half of them are under water. Corals and seaweed show that Zhaitan brought this once great human capital from the sea. We can hear wailing of restless ghosts, tormented by elder dragon’s curse. And above all this a sky, with a thick yellow clouds, never showing us the light of a sun.
Personally I think this is epic.
Also love Ascalon – charr buildings and human ruins equally.
Caledon forest is also very rich and beautiful.
Snowy zones already are turn-off for me, but there is always this kittening snow. It irritates me to no end, so I never want to go there. Wish devs give us an option to disable snow.
5 seconds is a acceptable reaction time considering that you have pop 2 dodge moves and a movement skill to get out of the poison field covering the entire room.
No. Just no. 5 seconds is a super-plenty time for a lazy sleeping ppl. Current time (about 1-1,5 sec) is enough. Sure you have some additional move/dodge skills. What class you’re playing?
Don’t stand in the red circles, problem solved. Seriously I ran AC yesterday and had no problem avoiding them. If people actually used the dodge function as intended things would be a lot easier.
It is hard to not stand on red circles when the range of it covers the entire room.
Try dodging rain when there is nothing to shield you.
Well, its sure not the entire room, you overly exaggerating. There is plenty of space to dodge, or even walk out of circles. See, all these ppl have no problems, but you have. So this is your fault, and not something to blame fight mechanics for. Its not like this poison 1-shot you.
Oh god, nerf was not enough for you?
After a patch my group went to AC all paths, and it was so much fun with these revamped mechanics and decreased HP pools. Well, there was no single problem with it, really. All went smooth and easy. Except our fps… Anet did something to the engine I suppose, and fps was terrible with bands of gravelings in 2-nd path.
Poison. You want 5 seconds telegraph? FIVE SECONDS? Really? Are you blind, or have reaction of a slowpoke? Yes, it hurts more, but not instantly, and even with 1-2 hits by poison you sure should be able to move out of the field.
Spider hatchlings. Well, all you have to do is frigging MOVE while you hit them to death. Never had any problem with post-patched versions, and all in my team (even pugs) were smart enough to not die here.
Web scream. Have played ragned, so never got hit by this, but all our melee were able to deal with it with no big problems.
Please, don’t put stupid horror stories of how you fail here.
Well, now was our group’s first time being in arah path 4, and first time we’re killed Simin. We had 1 pug with us, but luckily he knew what to do, was calm and not raging ) Other 4 of us were in voice chat. The entire run took us about 3 hours, with ~40-50 mins spent on Simin.
Party was 3 warriors with semi-dd builds and gear (I was in knight’s with bers accessories, that “sonic boon” build, second was in soilder’s gear with bers accessories and some random build, 3-rd war was… dont know, lol). Mesmer was with GS and full carrion gear, guardian was balance build. Ofc we set up our utilities do max dps.
Simin was constantly stoning our guardian, mesmer was in charge of tears. Tactics to kite sparks was made in the process, when we discovered that we are not making much progress, lol. I mostly kited 2 or 3 sparks that spawned around exit of the cave. Just charge there with 5 skill no GS, and kite them all to places. Other ppl did other sparks. And so, with some efforts, and time warps, we succeeded to make 3 almost perfect spark runs (but not entirely perfect), and brougth Simin down. It was first kill for us all. It sure have been tough, but not impossible. Actually, with experience we could do this on reasonable time, not in 40-50 mins.
With all that being said, I dont know if we could do this with replacing 3-rd warrior with some other class. Need to experiment more.
So, I’d say, do not nerf Simin. She is so fun.
And all these “not dps-oriented” groups, you sound like you are not doing dps at all, just support each other. This is a bit too much. My advise here – concentrate on perfect spark runs, and whittle her down slowly but steady. If your spark runs are bad – you are doomed even with high dps.
(edited by AzureDream.4819)
Great tips, thanks for that. Parts about agony attacks are really helpful )
Human female, done it today about couple of hours ago without problems. Took me around 1 hour of tries. For me it was fun event.
Very good thread, fun and useful videos, stick it please.
Link for HotW 2 path is broken. Also it is best to have all videos on youtube, not on some stream channel.
Truly boring encounter, and it will be like 2-4 times longer if Anet will remove safespot )
PUGs and dungeons are not compatible here. At least, about 80% pugs. It is ok to get 4 ppl in voice chat, and get random kitten th, but thats all.
Well, going all ranged is sure an option, and I as an ele, is ranged as well. But recently found myself getting much more fun going d/d melee on wines, husk boss, and archers (ones that are after the wines). Sure, warriors could do this as well, and their damage would go a way up, and so on…
Perfectly normal boss with all this action is going on. OP just need to calm down and watch with the eyes for what he is doing.
I’d prefer more bosses like this one.
Watched a bit of video. All ranged warriors = no fun.
Trigger one wave, kill silvers, trigger another wave, kill silvers and so on.
No point of killing silver ones – they are respawning.
