try running repair on your client (just in case).
right click your GW2 shortcut and click properties
where you have C:\….\gw2.exe (The Target line), change that to c:\…\gw2.exe -repair
close and launch it again and let it do the repair. close it and change the Target line back to what it was and launch again
I beg you, whatever you did in the last patch, undo all of it..
lag spikes, 3x longer map loads, random crashes (just lost 45 mins crashing on last fractal 50 and an hour ago half of my guild crashed at once)…..
FYI, adding -maploadinfo to the GW2 shortcut makes it fairly clear the extra time on map loads has to do with the streaming client update
you broke the game, please unbreak it

yep.. posted on reddit while ago.. seems to be going around.. whatever you did in this patch.. please undo it.. the game is currently unplayable

There there are 21 bugged accounts. Because I’ve tried it again today, using the 2pipe method, and didn’t get it after finishing off his crew….
All I am trying to say is that you might get resolution faster if you make a support ticket. You have nothing to lose and it takes literally 2 minutes.
he won’t. that’s 2 minutes completely wasted for 0 chance of having it resolved.
several tries.. bugged for sure.. some kind okittennowledgement from Arenanet would be great.
We’re currently looking at a few things regarding individual fractal difficulty and length. A couple of options are reducing the length of unnecessarily long fractals (dredge) and modifying the possible sequence of randomly selected fractals so you don’t get the longest and most difficult ones all on the same run.

PS. you also have the option of requiring 2 fractals to be completed instead of 3
I thought it was restricted to towns too because i could get on a couple of characters that werent parked in major towns.. now i got the problem on all of them… im shocked this isn’t all over reddit already.. it usually makes it there before here.

I got that error several times too. “Cannot connect to login server”, “cannot verify your gameplay privileges”, the usual message blaming my firewall for a server problem……. i am tired of trying to login.. hope it’s fixed by when i wake up tomorrow :/

It just started like 45 minutes ago.. the game keeps crashing every time i try to load into a town (Lions Arch, Rata Sum…).. for characters that were parked there, i can’t do anything.. other characters that were out of town, if i try to go to a town, the game crashes.
I have tried it no less than 30 times, rebooted computer, reset router.. have no other computer or internet issues except this.
A couple things:
- For PvE/PvP/WvW, we know that those are 3 different playstyles, we don’t just lump PvE and WvW together.
Considering WvW and PVE use the same skill values, yes you do.
We’re starting to split PvE/WvW in the upcoming patch.
But we want them to be things that keep consistency across the game types as much as possible.
at last.. an end to the end of wrecking the PVE for the sake of balancing PVP (I hope)
i was loving the idea of guild missions until you mentioned ‘Southsun Cove’
you are arguing things that don’t matter… whether it’s because of skipping or not is irrelevant. ANet has not intended it to break down and not give you rewards if you skip 1 of the bosses or a mob here and there and the fact that it does (whether or not it’s because of skipping) means that it’s a bug.. and i am hear reporting a bug hoping to get it fixed. Don’t care in the least what’s causing the bug and how i can make it not happen.. i want it fixed so no matter what i do, it doesn’t happen. If the final solution is to spend an extra 20 minutes on each run and kill everything.. well i’d just laugh at that.
has nothing to do with skipping anything. I (everyone) skips all the time.. i have skipped AC bosses dozens of times… either way.. even if it has to do with skipping, it’s a bug… and now it has been reported awaiting a fix.
Okay.. first off.. path 2. Your last patch notes said the issue with Dertha at the last part of the dungeon was fixed. this is not the case. it is still very much broken. Ran this path twice today. It bugged both times. The first time, getting her killed and then reviving her fixed the issue.. the second time, even this method didn’t work and we had to quit the dungeon.
Paths 1 and 3… I have run them 3 times today. 3 out of the 4 times it bugged at the last part after the Howler was killed and we got no reward for running the dungeon. All in all, I ran Ascalonian Catacombs 6 times today and was rewarded for completing it a sum total of 2 times.
I submitted a bug for this a couple of times today and a few times in the past. I sincerely hope this is higher rather than lower on your list of bug fixes because it is extremely extremely annoying (I guess most bugs are.. but this one in particular wastes quite a lot of the player’s time)

Come on Anet even your RNG is flawed.
I lol whenever someone says RNG is flawed just because they have had bad luck.
You could go forever and never get an ascended/infused ring buddy, or you could get one on every single run. Those are the two extremes, the vast majority if not all people will fall anywhere in between.
and this doesn’t seem completely flawed to you considering the fact that at some level you will NEED them to go further?
things like this are fine for regular gameplay say for example with exotics.. even if you never get an exotic as a drop you can make due with rares or you can craft them or buy them from TP. But with this, not only do you need them to advance at some level, you have no other method of obtaining them and you can be the unluckiest guy in the world and literally play for 100 years and not get one.. sounds like a pretty huge flaw to me.

i don’t know what to think about it.. when i left the Mad King dungeon, the FOV became zoomed way out all throughout the game and it was perfect… a little while later, i noticed that it’s back to being very narrow/restricted/suffocating.. if the current condition of it is how you’re thinking of making it, i think you have some more work to do.. the zoom inside the Mad King dungeon was perfect.
i have no intention of upgrading all the exotic armor i got for my 5 level 80s just a few months after the game launched.. if that is indeed your plan ANET… cut it out! it’s nonsense.
Went on invisible mode last night… when i logged in this morning, i can’t switch to any other modes (Online, Away, LFG).. it says successfully changed, but it doesnt actually change it. Also, can’t talk in guild chat.

“SO my guildmates and I spent all day (like many) farming the Mad King dungeon for the chest.. we hit DR after the first run which is normal and eventually it ended up at completely diminished (but who cares.. we just wanted the chest). to end the night, we decided to do a COF run (for the first time since the day reset at 5 o’clock). When we finished, the reward was 1/10 of what it was supposed to be in all categories. we got ~4-5 silver, 200 karma, and 6 tokens. As far as i know, hitting DR in one dungeon shouldn’t affect other paths much less other dungeons. the only thing i can figure is that there is a bug that makes DR of 1 dungeon affect the others (or it could be a different bug entirely).
TL;DR: the rewards of 1 dungeon is being affected by the DR of another (maybe)."

Not a bug.
Confirmed by a dev as a monthly achievement thing that they’ll announce later in the month.
so they are changing part of the achievement after they already put it up and some people finished it? that doesn’t sound right.. if it’s right, it shouldn’t be………
(do you know where to find the post that “confirms” it?)
So i submitted this via in-game bug report a few days ago and since i have heard no acknowledgement or anything, i am posting it here too.
I finished the ‘Experience without death’ part of the monthly achievement on the day the new month started with my level 80 ranger by running a dungeon.. a few days after, that part of the achievement screen under achievement turned into “? ?” and the bar is depleted (screenshot attached). I am not sure if i will still get the achievement or not if i finish all of the other requirements, but i don’t want to wait until the end of the month to find out so hopefully this will be fixed sooner rather than later.
I will put off any further comments until you have had a chance to “fix” the DR then (hopefully very soon).
I am sorry but this DR really isn’t helping against bots and it’s really ruining the fun for the rest of us.. Now i understand why you may want to have something on so that people don’t just stand and do the exact same event 50 times over and get full rewards every time (i don’t agree with even doing anything about this.. but i understand why you would), but the DR is kicking in during normal gameplay, doing normal exploration, doing an event like twice, doing a very negligible amount of farming (say to get 5-6 powerful bloods for crafting something) and it’s also extremely difficult to get rid of the DR once you’re hit with it.
I don’t think this was ANet’s original intent.. if it was, i think you need to rethink your intent.. if it wasn’t, i hope you fix this soon. if you don’t want people farming, then you may need to rethink how much grinding is actually required to get some of the items in the game… if you’re going to leave the grinding needs in there, the last thing you should do it make it annoying to do.
I am currently on the Trading Post looking at Sigils of Energy.. the Superior Sigil of Energy and the Major Sigil of Energy have the exact same stats. Both give you 50% of your energy on weapon swap and both have a cooldown of 9 seconds. Is this a known issue? I couldn’t find anything on these forums about it
well, Robert Hrouda.. I am glad that you are happy with the changes you made to your dungeon. I won’t be visiting it ever again.. but i am glad you’re happy with it. have a good day.
ill add an “i agree” to this.. i don’t see why any given zone can’t have at least 2-3 events going on at any given time at its various sides.. you know there isn’t enough events when the last part of the daily achievement i manage to complete is always the 5 events.
i’d change the wording of “minions occasionally not attacking” to “minions not attacking 50% of the time”.. sometimes i think my flesh golem is trolling me
he stands there while i fight 3-4 enemies by myself.. then when i am done and want to run through, he starts attacking enemies that i never targeted and had no intention of attacking.. if they fix this, I will have nothing but love for the necromancer profession.. the other bugs don’t even bother me much. this one just … arggggg!!!
Staff skill #2 “phase retreat” also on occasion does not teleport you backwards, but just poofs and you stay at the same spot you activated the skill at (ie. does nothing but the shatter animation)
the same skill also at times sticks you into the ground and you have to use a waypoint to get out of it!!!!!
