Some sort of Sniper/Sharpshooter class, with long range rifle skills, use of small blades, ie swords/daggers use of fire arms ie pistols/rifles with their main class tree revolve around rifle damage. with swords/daggers/pistols to be switched to while running into the fray for more survival/evasion tactics… This class already doesnt sound like rifle warrior, which is an in fray fighting style, (as the skills suggest) or rifle engineer, who is a mid range at best fighter, still with more cc and kite ability then damage ability. dont say that high power from FAR range is op… Anyone tried a great sword mesmer lately… alot of times i find myself wrecking stuff before it even STARTS to get close to where i am… i would find myself playing and GREATLY enjoying this class. Heck talk to me anet, i would be willing to brainstorm stuff, i will take your current slot skill system, and current “long” range classes, and balance something off of available skills and weapon skills.

done made thread after thread about this, and no response from anyone of importance, they dont give a S*** about it being restrictive so long as they are bringing out new CR** on the TP that costs gems so they can make money.

Yeah, the Gathering tools were max lvl, why not this. This is literally going to take me 25-31 years to get a return on my money given i play EVERY day and get stuff that i am not going to break with my mystic salvage kit (Mystic kit everything green and higher). might as well spend the gems to get the mystic forge stones, and get you over 2k uses from a mystic forge salvage kit.

Yup, as of now, it is exactly what my title says it is, a trash-o-matic, and i am sorry, when you get up there, what items are you TYPICALLY salvaging, greens and up, this meaning you typically want the runes from the items you salvage as well, for mystic forge purposes, you want ectos. this is for that max of 20% trash of the stuff you salvage, where as you are STILL better off just dropping the c’s on the basic salvage kit, and not wasting the equivalent of the 30g, sadly, because the description was in-descriptive in the TP i was suckered into purchasing it. I just assumed it was going to be the same as the 3 gathering tools, with it being at least NEAR its maxed out counterparts. Boy was i surprised.

Now I DID purchase this item, ONLY for it’s APPARENT convenience HOWEVER the description on the TP was different than that of it once pulled from the mail. It has the characteristics of a BASIC SALVAGE KIT, the equivalent per use cost to that 88c you pay for that basic is 3.52c Per use. The -o-matic is 3c per use, and cost 800 gems. Those 800 gems were the equivalent Gem – Gold of 21g52s00c(and the Gold – Gem average of 29g12s00c). Now, unless the actual effect of this item was increased to that of a Journeyman’s or Master’s Salvage kit, this thing is LITERALLY going to take a year to actually return on our investment. None the less I was VERY upset that at the time of purchase that the description on the TP was incorrect to what it said while in items. ANET if you wouldn’t mind, the Mining Pick, the Scythe, and the Axe all were unlimited uses of the max item, WHY would you make something so trash as this. Please figure something out, that is actually GOOD for those paying customers you had, the first three, great… this… you just sank everything that was good. You other players can come in here and “defend” this stank if you want, but you know what i am saying is true.

Please don't get rid of magic find stats!

I like how you all are attacking it by “It hurts people in parties… blah blah blah” he was talking about out and killing stuff and being able to essentially farm mats for the player instead of paying the OVERLY ridiculous TP prices from people who have MUCH MORE TIME but do the EXACT thing with MF. Leave it so that people can have a set that is APTLY called “Explorers.” I myself have played on my warrior, with a full set of MF gear, and my guardian which i didn’t bother to put MF gear on, in the same area, and the drops are SIGNIFICANTLY better so that i can take care of myself trying to get 400 in all the crafting pros. But OBVIOUSLY ANET is going to do whatever they want to do, BECAUSE MF is apparently “Breaking parties” although my buddies and myself farm arah for drops in MF gear… So don’t blame the gear, blame the player. (they gave us a dodge button already/heals/absorbs/blocks/stuns/etc/etc/etc)

They need more weapon and armor skins PERIOD, no need for EVERY crafted weapon and Armor (rares^ at least) to look EXACTLY the same.

Mike, i agree with the Slight restriction in skills, however that is not the MAJOR flaw they need to fix in this game… the MAJOR flaw that has been in this game since the beginning and that needs fixed is the targeting system… enough said.

I agree, and on top of that they already make MUCH more money over subscription based games, from what i have heard out of the 500+ people i talk to in my 3 guilds and outside of that, they all spend 50-100$ easily a month on this game.

Honestly, i was away for some time a few months after release, i got back… and one of the first questions i asked, as i saw there was a back slot option, was “are there capes” and was QUITE disappointed with the answer of no to my question.

GuardianOMS.8067, while I would slightly agree with you on your opinion of faces… you have to look at it, just as in our world, as faces are pretty much just as unique as snowflakes… As well, i would not be against an infinite amount of hairstyles/beards/horns/leaves/etc<—— that just makes sense. I am a GLUTTON for customization in games, and though i don’t care to terribly much about the game Champions Online (as well as, what i would consider, a free online mmorpg), I can spend, and have spent HOURS upon HOURS customizing characters, i think i as well had soulcalibur V for a week, and spent over 40 hours in the Character customization area of the game. There is NEVER a downfall to offering more customization options you will ONLY increase possible income from your game. This comment and this thread should honestly be taken into consideration with the thread about the wardrobe issues and possible solutions that could be had.

Staff, would either be when in main hand slot would take up both main and off hand (two handed) or the staff would be the offhand to what could be either main hand dagger, scepter, or sword if i am not mistaken. To think of it two staves would kinda be cool although i hadn’t thought of it in that aspect in reference to this, but you can duel wield staves in Skyrim, not only does it look pretty cool, but it also yields some pretty cool results. Like i said, prior the constriction with the 30 or so utility skills and 5 main skills unchangeable and only available with their weapon class, makes the game only “chew-able” in small bouts, if only at least to me. But honestly it may just be because i come from having played pretty much EVERY purchasable and free MMORPG/RPG for consoles and PC that this limited portion of what is in fact the part that makes up the LARGEST infrastructure of this genre, the combat system, is lacking so much. One of the biggest concerns i hear of about the skill system is not even in defense of the lack of usable skills… it is the possible clutter of the UI… And ill be honest, i could see more of my screen on World of Warcraft with 8 action bars up and the “Bartender” mod than i can see of guild wars 2 and their UI. And before you bash me about saying anything about World of Warcraft, let me first state, i despise that game and its “craptastic” graphics, however BLIZZARD did, over the course of MANY MANY MANY years, manage to get a FEW things spot on when it comes to MMORPG’ing and the consumer. However as stated “GuildWars 2 is leading in breaking the MMORPG shell.” I say to that “awesome” but don’t get rid of to much of the stuff that has been tried and proven true that make up the “GOOD” parts of classic MMORPGs.

ANet needs to invest in more skills for main 5 and past period… game play itself gets boring, knowing exactly what other people are going to do, due to what they have in their hands is cheap… essentially that entire part of the game could have been re-thaught and essentially done A LOT better.

I’m sorry to say, but in the respect to changing the looks on armor goes, i would near say that World of Warcraft (bleh) has the BEST Wardrobe editing system i have EVER seen in ANY MMORPG. Have it cost in game coin, which the player can either earn or pay, you guessed it, cash money to get. Don’t make it ridiculous that the average Joe player cant do it without paying real cash money for. But what dude is trying to say in his post is HE DOESN’T WANT TO LOOSE EITHER SET OF ARMOR. Say if he wants to use that skin on another armor set, but doesn’t want to loose the peace of armor he currently has it pasted to. If you are bashing this guy because you think his idea is trying to break ArenaNets revenue. It isn’t it is trying to make it easier for the consumer while doing NOTHING to ArenaNets take. i have easily 50 or more of both the transmutation stones, that i haven’t used due to the fact that i am a glutton for the look of gears, and don’t want to actually destroy either pieces.

I don’t know how terrible easy or hard this would be, I am not a game designer, programmer, or anything of the sort. However with how the “Usable Skills” are in the game, and how using the same weapon skills over and over again with a change in weapons that possibly range from a few to a few more than a few with every class… It would be nice to see in a patch some updates to some weapon categories. Add in 2 handed axes, we have both 1 & 2 handed maces/hammers, 1 & 2 handed swords/great swords but only 1 handed axes. Heck even add say halberds in as being separate from 2 handed axes for even more possibilities. Bring swords to eles, and allow staves to either be wielded 1 handed or 2 handed with varied effects (thinking Gandolf here guys, my brain puts mages and eles in same boat). I mean just for a bit more variety, as using the same skills over and over again just makes it, for me personally at least, hard to play for any extended amount of time. Now please don’t come to this forum to bash my idea’s cause they are irrelevant to the point i am trying to get across being that a bit more choices in what is this huge part of game play (main skills obviously a huge part) would be a terribly good thing to work towards on their part, and make what is an already amazing game above its pears even that much better with even less constrictions. Thank you all, and even more weapon suggestions/combinations might help them. Myself as an artist am always up to suggestions that could make my works of art even better the next time around. And keep up the good work Guild Wars team. When it comes to graphic quality you are by far at top, game play (minus targeting system which is ALWAYS messing me up) you are quite at top with quick fast paced non linear fights. Also… i miss dual classes… but that may just be me… Anyways thanks for the game, and for any feed back on this post.
