the video of the new guild hall is exciting and beautiful…. and i was just discussing with a guildie the option of changing the current hall to the new one… and we were wondering if you decide to change, do you lose all of the NPCs and upgrades that you have in your current guild hall?

if yes, that’s going to make some people that have worked very hard on their hall VERY unhappy to find out AFTER changing….

oh, and i checked the wiki page for the hungry cat scavenger hunt…. you can add an API key to see what ones you have already… which i did, and it shows that i HAVE the yellow catmander.

so, it took me about an hour to get to the quaggan room in the desert borderlands… and i fed the yellow catmander the can of spicy meat chili… and excitedly went to Hoelbrek to see my new cat (only missing a few now)… only to spend 30 minutes searching the entire building…. and no yellow catmander. checked my inventory to make sure that the chili was not still in my inventory…. nope, not there.

a guildie said that it’s in the front area of the Rata Sum home instance, so i went there… no yellow catmander.

where’s my kitten catmander?!?!?!?!

We became aware of a problem created when Personal Story steps were reordered last year. When the reordering took place, some players were unable to complete their Personal Story. This sometimes happened if they left the Personal Story either to play Living World Seasons 2 or 3 or to play Heart of Thorns.

For players who were affected by this bug, we developed a correction that was implemented in the build of 13 December. Those who were impacted by the issue received an in-game mail when the correction was made. If your Personal Story progress was previously blocked, you should be able to continue it at your convenience.

If you believed you had completed your Personal Story, but there actually was a gap in completion due to the story reordering, your progress has been reset to your last completed quest step. This is intended to allow every player the opportunity to experience their Personal Story in its entirety.

This fix targets those characters having a gap somewhere in their Chapter 7 and/or 8 story lines only. No other Personal Story, Heart of Thorns, or Living World quests should be affected by this fix. If your progress within these Chapters has been reset and you received the letter from Scholar Aiti about your story, then you had a gap in the Personal Story at some point, even if you were not able to see that you were blocked from resuming your story. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but hope that the opportunity to experience your story at its fullest will help make up for our error.

i finished the personal story on my ranger….. and killed Zhaitan….. and y’all took that away from me….. and i’m really VERY kittening unhappy about that….. how does that get corrected??? i want my kill back!!!! i don’t want to have to kill that PITA dragon again on a character that already did it!!!

IF (and that’s a VERY big if) i did indeed miss something with the reordering, then just make it so that i can do the missed part, don’t take away everything i did after that part!!!!! and no, having to kill Zhaitan AGAIN does definitely NOT make up for it…..

so, i finished the main storyline a while back on several characters (i’m currently on my ranger/druid in game, she DID kill Zhaitan), and when i logged on, i had mail from a “Scholar Aiti” telling me that “someone messed up the record-keeping of (my) personal story.” and that he fixed it….. and it took away my Zhaitan kill!!!!!!!

WHATTHEKITTEN?!?!?!?!?!

i want that non-error fixed…. how do i do that?

it seemed to fix it for me…. and then there was a new build….

i hadn’t noticed that they were gone until now…. and am really disappointed. i used to use the crafting in the original WvW maps because it takes WAY too long to load into LA, and the other major cities…. when the original borderlands maps were replaced with those other ones, i didn’t do that anymore… but now that they’re back, and i got in the habit of going to Rata Sum to craft, i just checked (after seeing this thread while looking for guild hall threads). they’re not here…. i’d MUCH rather come to the citadel than have the ridiculously long loading times for the big cities….. and now that’s out of the question.

put them back please!!! or at least put them as upgrades in the guild halls!!!

for those of you that play mostly HoT, i can see why you would have an abundance of crowbars….

but for those of us that don’t only do HoT, it’s not easy building up very many…..i made the mistake of getting the airship chest for my home instance and can’t use it very often because i haven’t spent much time in HoT lately (been working on and just finished making Leaf of Kudzu and Kudzu.

I also get plenty of crowbars. Complete a daytime event and the game throws them at you, sometimes in larger quantities. I believe the periodic nighttime reward updates also award them.

actually, per the wiki, it says :
Received by completing daytime events in Verdant Brink. Nighttime events do not award crowbars. Map progression at night does award 1-3.

being able to turn them on and off would be really awesome….. it’s frustrating trying to do a jumping puzzle and the glider popping out when you are trying to do a jump. makes me want to scream and throw things!!!!

i LOVE gliding… it’s an awesome addition to the game….

BUT…… when trying to do jumping puzzles (such as Morgan’s Spiral), and it’s not turned off for one i’m working on, it’s really frustrating…. a player being able to turn gliding on and off would be UHMAYZING!!! is that something that would be considered for a future update/release??

I’m okay with both portals and gliding being allowed. Some people just aren’t into jps and they’re welcome to get their achievements by taking shortcuts. I’m a purist and will jump through a jp the old fashioned way, but that’s just me – so in the name of the six gods PLEASE give me the ability to reassign the glider button! I really, really try but sometimes I hold the jump button a little too long and it still opens the glider and flies me off a jump I would have otherwise made. It’s so frustrating. You took my jump button away from me. Give it back.

i had purchased a second GW2 account and linked it to my second GW1 account, but then realized i didn’t want two GW2 accounts…. and gave it to a friend. i now want to separate them….. what do i need to do?

This daily is no longer possible. Yes, we need to fix the fact achievement still shows up as a Daily. The same is true for the WvW Veteran Slayer achievement.

is this going to be replaced with something anytime soon? i don’t do PvE, so those are out. i HATE trying to find the kitten events in the PvE maps as you can’t see any events in the maps unless you’re in the nearby area (if we could choose the map, maybe it would be a better option).

the way dailies are right now is very frustrating and not always doable for everyone.

That’s strange… on my screen, in the Hero Panel, Achievements tab, under the Daily Achievements:
Daily Master of Ruins

• Capture 1 ruin in any of the WvW Borderlands

that does NOT say “build”.

Anet not sharing this info is not unusual but extremely frustrating, as finding event end dates/times is never easy. it would be really nice if that could be specified in ALL of the events info instead of something like “for nearly two weeks starting Oct 23rd”….

is this possible? how do i go about doing it?

Trajan, WvW players are not the only people that “… are the ones that create guilds, recruit players, train squads and teams, (often finance all the siege and consumables), motivate and lead…” PvE folks do this as well. we may not need siege, but we do all the same things, just in dungeons and fractals and storylines.

• to everyone who’s ranting, kittening and moaning – i get your frustrations…. i still can’t get in hours later…. and i preordered the $99.99 HoT release, looking forward to the betas that i had not previously gotten to play. i am SERIOUSLY excited about the Ranger’s elite specialization the Druid, and can’t play it because i can’t get in. i was in WvW with my guild at the time, changing maps and got booted out, but do you see me ranting and raving? no. they are working on the problem. all of you are just going to have to find some patience and pull the sticks out of your butts.

I think I should point something out: The game is not down. We’re not having a game outage here. It’s true that some players are not able to join, but the game is still accessible — I’m in it now.

So I appreciate people pointing out we’ve had very little down time in our history, and that’s very true, but this isn’t down time, in the true definition of the word. Just had to say.

Except that, for WvW at least, all the main commanders have been kicked and are denied access to the game play we love on, arguably, the most important night of the week.

We are the ones that create guilds, recruit players, train squads and teams, often finance all the siege and consumables, motivate and lead, our personalities are what players come for in all extremes. Reset is a big night for us. Some of us are just very disappointed right now.

attempted the “-repair” thing… didn’t work. guess i just have to wait til tomorrow. going to watch an episode of Falling Skies and go to bed.

Update: This is going to take a little bit to fix. I would suggest not creating squads until this can be resolved, as you may end up not being able to log back in.

I’ve been told that staying offline (including not logging into the launcher) for 10 minutes, may resolve the issue by removing you from the squad.
(Disclaimer: I’m not sure if this will work)

We have identified the problem, and have reverted a change that was causing a lot of players to be unable to login. However, there is still an issue with players that were leaders of squads, right now they are unable to login (it may also be some other players).

We are working to address the issue as soon as possible.

So, I’m doing my very first beta and made myself a Revenant and am running around in the Verdant Brink….. and have noticed that you either have to have the glider (or be able to use the bouncing mushrooms) to get to some of the Mastery Points… looks like it will be fun!

Now here’s the question:

I received the glider with my pre-purchase, and want to make sure that, once I use it during beta, it will still be available for my other non-beta characters to use. I looked at the wiki and here and didn’t find anything that specified that particular distinction.

Will I lose it if I use it during beta???

Agreed that it would be nice to have mentioned that in the actual Wintersday article and release notes. I know some people who were going to be out of town for Christmas and were worried they would miss everything. They felt a lot better when told it actually runs through mid-January.

Gaile – the problem is that the event is actually kind of bugged. The daily just requires participation, so you should be able to go in, miss every note and still get your daily. I had gone in, hit notes, and was ejected for failure about 4 or 5 times before the daily recognized that I had participated.

i did try the bell choir and the jumping puzzle…. unsuccessfully unfortunately….. and did NOT get credit. after the first few attempts to get the credit, i just said heck with it and didn’t bother, just did the events that i could do.

Tried a round of the choir and kept dying, so that was a bust. As for the JP, well I’m not great at those and usually just steer clear of it.
These two shouldn’t be included as a requirement of the dailies.

I have noticed that, unlike Guild Wars (Proph/Factions/NF), GW2 does NOT give end dates (on the website, wiki or release info on the log in screen) for any events that are going on, like Wintersday. This is VERY frustrating, as that makes it difficult to make sure that you get all of the content done before the end date.

Can this unfortunate “bad habit” be changed please????

are you doing ONLY PvE dailies???

For someone that plays absolutely NO WvW or PvP, the new dailies were a great disappointment. There are only three choices per day that can be done in PvE.

I also dislike the fact that you HAVE to do all of the ones (regardless if it’s PvE, PvP, or WvW, or a mix of the three) for any of them to get ANY points. I have only been able to get dailies done ONCE since the change because of this. I can’t stay up all night. I have to be up at 5am to get ready for work, therefore I go to bed at 10pm. That’s just not enough time, unless I log on as soon as I walk in the door when I get home, which just can’t happen. I have pets to care for, dinner to make and eat, and other things that occupy some of my evening time.

@Lishtenbird had some good ideas for improvement. I really agree with his idea of them being more generic…. like gathering ANYTHING in one area. I can do with that, but having it as one specific item (plant/ore/logs) in one specific area makes it a pain in the butt.

Vista Viewer = LAME!!! As someone who maps the entire area as I get to them, this makes it so that I’m doing something I’ve already done….. multiple times.

Exotic Crafter = what if a player hasn’t gotten to that level in any of the crafting professions yet?? That means it’s one less achievement that they can even attempt to do.

Mystic Forger = again, lame. I had to put in some weapons I had saved in storage for a low level toon so that I could complete the dailies the ONE TIME I’ve actually finished them.

Daily Fractal = I don’t do Fractals. I do PvE only. I don’t consider Fractals to be PvE – they’re dungeons. Totally separate thing imo. AND you have to have a group, not something you can do alone.

Event Completer = events in a specific area is somewhat difficult as you have to be in a specific spot to see any regular (non-meta) events that are nearby. You can’t just look at a map and find an area that has an event happening.

World Bosses = doable, as long as you have a group. My squishy light toons can’t kill Champion or higher bosses alone.

PLEASE rethink these changes…. everyone I have talked to about it is EXTREMELY disappointed and upset and even kittened off about these changes. They aren’t really workable.

My Asuran Elementalist has gotten to Master Tailor (430/500) and I can no longer buy runes of holding, of any variety. Can anyone tell me why???
