Let them choose, Way points or mounts. If you have a mount, no more way points. Way points only appear after death and in locations not accessible by foot. After death, 2 minute cool down on your mount. If you want way points back.. then sell your mount.
but back to the topic, I think they’d just have to do it in an official poll. Let the people decide. Event mounts, Personal Mounts, Both, or None…. one vote per account.
Just rip off Diablo 3 a little bit…
Get rid of MF as a stat on gear
Keep MF Boon foods, boosts and what not
Make non-dungeon Champs and World Bosses (Dynamic events or what not) give you X% MF for X amount of time after killing them. Stacking up to X% and X amount of time. After killing the Mob, you can not gain anymore MF off that mob for one hour. (So people dont just sit and kill the same thing over and over)
This would not only allow people to keep their MF with out choosing it over another stat but also encourage higher levels to venture into lower level areas.
To keep higher levels from achieving this too easily… make it so that the bigger the level gap between the player and the mob means less % MF boon applied. (I know were all “scaled” but you can’t deny that you can go back and solo stuff you couldn’t when you were actually leveling in that area.)
Level req, Can not gain MF til level 30
Just like events, if you do not do your part then you will receive less MF %.
The MF Champ Boon will last through death at the cost of 10% time reduction of the remaining time on the Boon.
The MF Boon can be taken into Dungeons with you.
The MF Boon will stay on you for up to one hour after logging out (so that people that get D/C a lot don’t get punished for having a crap ISP)
All they would have to do is after you kill a mob, if with in so many yard a mob spawns near you it will not aggro for so many seconds. That way mobs are still around for other players and it gives you time to run away or prep yourself to attack.
Idk about this idea, sounds fun… but then again it would take one step closer to bringing personal mounts into the game and it would give the mount seekers more to harp about. “mounts are already in game, give us personal mounts.” yatta yatta yatta. I personally don’t mind the idea of personal mounts so long as they’re cosmetic and give no boons.
This is how it would need to be done.
Each server right now would be made into a guild, everyone on the server that they’re on right now would be
put into those guilds automatically. (ex Isle of Janthir would now be the guild “Isle of Janthir”.
Player made “guilds” would now be known as a “Company”.
Merge servers by the 3. Two lowest population with one highest, so that there would still be servers to choose
from.
All new characters would choose a server, then choose a guild. When on your server and in your guild you
would then be able to join a player made “Band” or “Company”.
Servers would still serve as a population control.
Their would be 3 Guilds per server.
And countless player made "Company"s to join.
When representing a “Company” from a certain Guild, you would have to also represent the Guild that the
“Company” is in while you’re in PvP. (ex: if Company Bravo is in the Guild Isle of Janthir, then I would
represent Isle of Janthir if I wanted to PvP while representing Company Bravo.)
PvP would be CvC (Company vs Company).
Each weekend would be a 3 day (Friday to Sunday) GvGvG event (Guild vs Guild vs Guild) in which the
highest ranked Companies of each Guild would PvP against each other.
At the end of each month there would be a week long SvS (Server vs Server) event. SvS would be the top
ranked Guild from each server competing.
Stats for Companies would reset weekly, Guilds by weekly, and Servers monthly.
Offer rewards for streaks, reigns, or peats so people would still know who’s a force to be reckon with even if
they happen to have a bad week or two. Rewards as weekly, monthly, and yearly titles, town cloths, and/or
auras. All past stats would be kept on record either a pvp menu, guild menu, or company menu.
This is Guild Wars after all, not Server Wars. Even if they did it this way I would still not agree with it. :-/
I agree only with the 3rd: one server divided into districts like in GW1 which numbers goes up or down depending on the numbers of players online in that given map at that specific time.
@Barlisk “I would quit if they made it one giant server with WvWvW determined by “factions” or “shards” or anything”
It shouldnt be a problem for you because now people can change servers daily. If adding the same option to the WvW home selecting screen as in suggestion mentioned above in the OP, I think it is the same feature only with a different selecting time. And it pretty arrogant to say that you know the people on your server. It have been scientifically proved that one person can remember an average of 110 namesI never said WvW would be determinded by shard or anything like that anyway.. LOL Obviously he didnt read what I typed. I said picking a server would be for WvW only… I’ll say it one more time.. When you pick a server it would be for WvW only…
everyone is on the same server for PvE and its broken up into shards
Pretty kitten sure that’s what you said.
I said picking a server would be for WvW only…
so explain to me how this is not WvW being determined by section, shard, faction? or whatever they decide to call it if it were to happen. Everyone would be one the same server… but then we’d be divided in pvp? like… factions? or… by the “shard” you picked? Its most definitely what you said. Correct yourself before correcting others.
And it pretty arrogant to say that you know the people on your server. It have been scientifically proved that one person can remember an average of 110 names
When did I say that? Don’t put words in my mouth. And I think you mean “Its been proved that one AVERAGE person can remember 110 names.” I have to remember well over 200 just for my job. Not counting everything not work related. Again, never said I know the people on my server. I said my server is booming? and its not full of kittens? And I know this cause I played WoW and LoL briefly and I have a pretty good idea what a bad community is.
/suicide and make travel to the closest waypoint while dead, free.
That doesn’t actually address the issue of being in an instance. Besides, rezzing at a WP inside a dungeon is already free.
How does it not? /suicide… You die… you teleport out to a WP for free. How is this any different than what the OP is suggesting? And Im pretty sure I didn’t say anything about dungeons. The option after using /suicide inside an instance would be… Start from last checkpoint, Restart Instance, and Exit to closest Waypoint.
or better yet… just /leave map. only works while in an instance of any kind. and you wouldnt suffer a death.
It seems people only care about completely changing the game, not adding features. the post about adding races, mounts, and changing mechanics are getting the most attention while the good ideas get buried in the posts -bump-
Kodan all the way, and then offer race changes. haha
Barber Shop/Hair Dresser: A place to change hair color and style. Styles would cost money and color would cost an unused bottle of dye, the same that you use for armor. All with a preview before applying.
-Styles - Add more hair styles. Maybe add some extremely exotic ones at the cost of gems. Once you purchased the hair styles, both gem and gold styles, they would be free to use after that, and would only cost a small fee for application (like 5 silver).
-Colors- Bottles of Identified Dye, not used, can be taken to the Hair Dresser/Barber to be applied to your hair for the cost of 5 silvers. After being applied the colors will then be added to a list of colors that you can choose from later on.
The total cost of a total make over would cost no more than 10 silvers and a bottle of dye. Original hair styles will be free and new ones will be based on how exotic they are. Can even go as far as having achievements or map completion reward hair style “booklets” or “how to” manuals that you can take back to the Hair Dresser/Barber to teach them that style. Or… sell them on the Trading Post.
or better yet, make them cost gems.
mounts arent needed.
if they add mounts then they should be cosmetic. same run speed as you are now with no buffs and you get knocked off when in combat. cant mount in combat. and they should cost 5g a pop and the riding skill should be 100g. then id accept mounts.
Dyable underwear wouldn’t be so bad
If you want to support, buy gems. That’s what its there for. If you feel “guilty” buying gems for some reason… then don’t? Its no skin off their backs. Bahamadude has it right, just put a donation box on the website or in game. If you don’t want anything from the gem store and feel “guilty” or feel like youre wasting money on gems just to show your support then why would you want gems as a reward for paying monthly? If they added a monthly then I would hope they would add something more than just gems. Maybe a VIP section to the gem store. With more stuff no one wants.
/suicide and make travel to the closest waypoint while dead, free.
I don’t, considering the name isn’t Klu Klux Klan, its Kitty Killers, and then there’s the fact that KKK… IS NOT allowed as a tag. But the dude complaining about YOLO? wtf is that? Troll? I’ve not heard of this YOLO before.
I agree kinda, I could take or leave it, would probably never purchase it if it costed gems, and all they’d need to do is add another tab under “collections” in the bank for “gear”, add an option when you right click gear that says “add to collection” it would add it to you collections at the cost of stripping the stats from it. It would no longer be used for anything but cosmetic use. but… reusable. you would just have to be at your bank when you transmute. it would be more or less a listed item now instead of something you can equip. and level req would still apply… dont need a bunch of lvl 10s running around looking like 80s.
I don’t like the “shake” but I wouldnt mind a slight “zoom in and out”. Like a pulse/heart beat effect. and Like others say… Gotta have the option to turn it off.
I strongly disagree, i like the scaling. Yes.. you’re a level 40 in a level 20 area that has been scaled down to level 20, but your gear is still level 40. Thats your buffer…. you shouldn’t need anything else.
I also disagree on the shards idea. My server is booming, can’t go anywhere or do anything with out seeing at least 5 to 10 other people doing it as well. They have already solved this problem with server transfers.
I would quit if they made it one giant server with WvWvW determined by “factions” or “shards” or anything. People being on the same server and then being divided by something as “factions” or “shards” or whatever else tends to bring out the kittens and I for one happen to love the community on this game. I would hate to see it change.
I definitely support the first suggestion, especially linking dyes in chat. I’d love that.
I’m ambivalent about the 2nd. I don’t find I use consumables in combat enough to need to have them displayed in a convenient location. But if it’s in, eh, no skin off my nose. I’d probably forget about food less, if I could see it all the time.
I strongly oppose the third. You don’t get to look at my gear, unless I choose to show it to you. I would support a ‘display gear’ option, or some kind of confirmation box that pops up that says “So-and-so would like to inspect your hero. Agree? Y/N”, along with an option in preferences that:
1. Auto accepted all requests
2. Auto declined all requests
3. Popped up confirmation box
4. Auto accepted requests from friends/guild members.
I don’t see how its that big of a deal if someone views your gear, It not like its open pvp and they’d base attacking you or not off your gear and build. But If it had to done your way to get done at all then I would agree that I wouldn’t mind the confirmation idea, although I would want a spam filter of no more than 3 requests every 5 minutes or something.
The “skill” bar would be more or less for convenience, not for while in combat, and like you said… you’d probably use food more if it were on display :P
I like it. I like the quest idea, a lot. It would open it up for feature Holiday events to be more interesting as well and give rewards based on the Holiday.
Armor Dyes:
*Theme Saver - Give us 2 or 3 slots to save our dye themes in. For those who like to change up color schemes a lot. Total of 5 or 10 slots using Gems to purchase the rest. Plenty of room on the right side of the dye screen for this.
*Link Dyes after using them - Should be able to chat link dyes from your dye list.
Belt:
*Simple enough… Add an equipment slot for Belts. Belts would be a “skill” bar for non combat skills such as: pets, boosts, consumables… and so on. Pretty much everything someone would commonly use, yet does not want to fumble through bags for. (search is a nice feature but it doesn’t beat a displayed bar) Belts would bring in a new piece of gear, which would have no stats other than number of “skill” slots. Starting at 1 and going up to 15 slots. It would be a 5×3 when expanded and 1×5 that can rotate between the 3 when collapsed. (or scratch belts and just add the bar….)
View More:
*Add a View option to the right click window of fellow players. It would display their hero sheet, giving you a view of their gear, dyes used, trait/skill point usage, and guilds.
