Why don't transmute stones allow us to look the way we want?

I can empathize with your concerns. Some of the light armor I’ve noticed looks like it should be medium since it seems to have a leathery appearance, but it’s difficult to find some skins to get the concept you’re trying to reflect for your character. Heck I had a hard enough time just trying to get my Necromancer to look like a D&D styled Lich instead of a Necromancer…ended up just getting the Corrupted Orrian armor, and buying some dyes to make it look my skull and body was gold and bejeweled.
Sometimes the trading post has hiccups that last for about half an our or so where you’ll then be able to pick them up later. Just to be sure though that they aren’t in your inventory have you pressed the H button to look at your equipment that can be equipped from your inventory and seen if the pistols are in there that way? It’s a little easier than looking through the inventory the regular way where a person might accidentally overlook something.
It just depends on HOW you melee really. I couldn’t stand it as a Thief, but have really been enjoying it as a Necro! I’m usually Dagger/Focus, but sometimes switch to Dagger/Dagger and just stay in melee while using wells. It’s awesome watching a Thief get teared up in melee range, and feeling like you’re essentially a crazy wizard wearing a bath robe with a dagger and going “No no no…you don’t know how to use Daggers!!!”
I’m not so sure the scavenger hunt is far off in the future. I’m thinking that it’s going to be within six months, due to the Mystic Binding Agents that come out in stacks of 10 for 10 tokens from the daily tokens to be released sometime in the estimated first half of the year.
The reasoning behind it is because 5 of those tokens also gives 5 Obsidian Shards, and the simple name ’Mystic binding agent" sounds like it would be useful for MAKING a precursor….not to mention I could see it to be a necessity to have to a daily 250 times as part of a “scavenger hunt” to make a precursor.
I thought it was going to be along the lines of do 4/6 like for the future daily achievements for future monthlies. To me that makes a lot of sense and gives some freedom and variance while still having some randomness…and it provides a buffer in case part of the monthly achievements are acting buggy…I’m one gamer certainly fond of buffers
I find it to be insanely fun to be a Lifesteal Necro with MM. Just throw on a superior sigil of water + Omnomberry Ghosts, and it’s like bwa haa haa I have insane heals, and dps as long as not too many aoe’s are thrown down all at the same time, and it makes tanking fun in AC Explore…really fun to just Dagger/Focus things while people are like “Umm why the heck are you meleeing! You’re a clothie!”
I am literally laughing at the people that think that Necromancers are horrible in PvP and WvW. If you put me against almost any other Profession (except mesmers) in a 1 on 1 fight…I’m often victorious. My utility skills are usually Spectral Walk, Spectral Grasp, and Flesh Wurm (That’s right Flesh Wurm) This allows me to literally laugh at a Thief, because I am able to keep them chilled pretty well, and AoE them down…in the event they go invis without me having them Chilled…congratulations I am crazy enough to use Flesh Golems (or whatever the elite is) so it can be around the area while I’m tellied of to safety waiting to see what they’ll do while having insane movement speed increased from Spectral walk…and Warriors…come on if they’re not in melee they have no chance…Hunters? My offspec is Dagger Focus so I can keep up with them on movment really and MELEE them.
The thing that Necros really boil down to in this stuff is…how well can you use DS, and do you use it when you should actually be using it. I’ll give you a hint you don’t want to be using it when at 10% Health, but more like when you need to do a bit of kiting while waiting for your cool downs.
And in terms of PvE. Unless it’s a boss fight like Lupicus my kiting lasts longer than most guardians and bunker golems…while having decent dps to solo 1.5 burrows while guarding Hodgins.
Also we can escape from zergs…it just involves creativity. Most Zergs arent’ going to be attacking your Flesh Wurm when they’re more concerned about you. So what you do is you throw one down and run away from the zerg. After going roughly 1200 yards in that direction you throw down Spectral Walk, and then use NT. Boom right there you’re potentially in the zerg yes, but that’s when things get interesting…you now have a choice of 8 seconds of running in one direction away from them, hiding, or whatever to do what you want depending on the position where you can then go back to the original spot Spectral Walk was cast…12 seconds if you’re traited right…and also dont’ forget SW when used right can cause you to live through a jump that would otherwise kill people chasing you (so fun to do when you use it at the last second and watch the enemies that were trying to kill you fall to their death while you live from the jump…or are still at the top of the cliff as if you never jumped in the first place!)

I agree some of the dungeons do need a revamp. Having it where players are locked out of using a WP would be a pretty great idea (for explorable anyway not story mode) Also, unfortunately Lupicus is not the only boss in Arah that can be soloed. I’ve personally been able to solo the Risen Crusher and Risen Hunter simultaneously without using exploits…granted I can’t get past the trash solo, but even now when I’m in a group where the others are dying on them I just stay at melee range of Crusher dodging him, and constantly DPS’ing him or the Hunter in healing armor to stay alive the whole time no problem. (I guess this boss fight could be improved by having them function in a way similar to the Lovers in AC story)
Sound tips, but based on the materials that you used to make the Exotic Focus I’m sure you could of made a larger profit even after taxes selling the ingredients by roughly a gold. The salvaging kit tip was pretty useful for newbies especially how you mentioned that you usually use Mystic Salvage kits, because I don’t see how it would be profitable to salvage a rare under normal circumstances with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
1.) Also on Salvage kits Black Lion Salvage kits are great for salvaging Exotics from the TP to sell the runes/sigils for a profit.
Some things I’ve easily made gold from have been buying coal, and iron at the highest buying price (if within profit) and then making steel ingots, and selling them on the TP. Making 2,500 steel ingots in about 5-6 minutes was a pretty easy way to make 2g after taxes. It does take a lot of waiting though on getting the materials from the TP, but if you’re about to go to bed making roughly 2g while drinking a cup of coffee is pretty awesome. The same strategy I’ve used for mithril ore into ingots, and platinum into darksteel.
400 Chefs may want to consider the ingredients to make Rare quality Unidentified Gray dyes since so many of those sell pretty well for money. Examples include Abyss, Black, White, and Celestial.
Also I can understand the reasoning for doing Fractals since it gives obsidian shards (so that you don’t need as much karma to make legendaries) but doing daily Explore runs with experienced groups for AC (all paths) and CoF (P1, and P2) you can do all 5 paths total in an hour and half for 2.5g (with Omnomberry bars) from just killing the last bosses alone + the dungeon completion bonus, and then can use the tokens for say Greatswords, and if they’re all Great Swords then you’ll get a random 80 Exotic Greatsword…(Say hello to the chance of a Precursor np for about 5-6 days worth of dungeons)

A norm walks into a bar and says to the barkeep “I’ll have a Logan Thackeray .”
barkeep runs away
Heh. What predator seems to be commenting on is how in both pics the top seller undercut the next top seller by 1c. Personally if I could afford to buy a legendary and I wanted one I would buy the one that was 1c MORE EXPENSIVE and then chuckle at the poor soul that’s all like “What the heck mine was CHEAPER.”
Yeah I’m curious about when she’ll be back, but remember them saying she would be back and functional in a future patch. I can understand their reasoning to an extent, but personally I loved doing Fractiles with some donation paper and a Mystic Forge Conduit so that whenever my inventory got full I could throw some stuff into the mystic forge to get some commendations which I could later use for sturdy tools to make mining, gathering, and woodcutting much more convenient.
I would not object to the concept of a Legendary scythe…even if it technically acted as a staff…
I just think it would be pretty cool if there were some Profession based miniatures. Some examples I thought of were.
Necromancer: Something hunchbacked
Warrior: A minstrel
Elementalist: An elemental that changes type depending on what form you are.
Ranger: A bull eye following you around.
These could even incorporated as a legendary mini…for example salvaging a legendary weapon gives a token redeemable for a Profession based mini of your choice that has a particle trail like a legendary weapon would of.
They will probably nerf Dagger/Dagger or Dagger/Focus. Seriously when they last did the patches I was all like “Hoozah my mini voldy is now Speedy Gonzales, AND can melee np.”
I’m not against the concept of some more melee variations for Necromancer, but what you’re describing is really something that would be more suitable for a Scythe weapon than a staff…sure Necro staff attacks temporarily LOOK like a Scythe, but there’s a difference. If they ever make a scythe weapon though I’d definitely recommend this concept for it, but from a RP sense casters traditionally do not melee with staffs…even if other classes that are traditionally melee can melee with them.
Okay awesome! I was hoping it was just content that wasn’t released yet! I don’t mind buying some gems for it…it’s just annoying having a masculine name on a female character and so forth, and with all the other makeover items they were recently releasing I was just confused whether or not it was usable yet…or what.
Personally I started off as a Mesmer before playing a Necromancer…and because of that it’s made me realize how similar Necros and Mesmers are. For instance you might want to play a Mesmer to have minions that look like you instead of as undead creatures…or to have portals that are useful for more than just yourself. The down side though of being a Mesmer is how pink and just about everything seems to cause butterflies to it though (which is the reason I stopped playing one.) But…if you really like playing as a Minion Necro then I’d recommend trying out a Mesmer…also Mesmer’s are pretty awesome in PvP and WvW alike!
I noticed in the TP that there is a name change contract, and I was wondering what does a person need to do to get one? Because at this point in time my name no longer reflects who my character actually is.
Just out of curiosity…it’s still doing things on the outside right like the regular incinerator right? Like all of the effects and stuff? Just curious, because I’ve been thinking of doing the opposite and Transmuting Bifrost stats to a Scythe skin and was wondering what would happen (obviously I’d have the Bifrost stats, and it’d list the Scythe as purple) but was curious about the effects of weapon attacks…would it be rainbow colored attacks or the same as regular attacks?
I know that exotic weapons being thrown into the mystic forge has a small chance of getting a precursor, and rare weapons have an even smaller chance, but I was wondering if there could be a a really high (80-100% chance) of throwing 4 precursors into the mystic forge for a random precursor? Why I’m asking right now is because some precursors are about 300g and others are under 25g, and that can be used to show how much higher the demand is for some precursors than others, than most of the lower priced precursors.
Because as things are right now it seems pretty unbalanced for the off hand only precursors to be so cheap in comparison when you could literally buy 15 of them for the price of some of the other precursors…which to me means there’s not much of a demand for those, but only the 2H, MH, and precursors that can be used in either hand.
So today I purchased the recipe of Extended potion of Ghost Slaying from the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon vendor at the Fort Mariner from Lion’s Arch. I was pretty surprised that when I learned the recipe that it says Extended potion of Undead Slaying. So I am confused and don’t know what’s going on there. I do know though that I have no other extended potions learned, and that the Arah dungeon vendor is supposed to sell a recipe for Extended potion of Undead Slaying. If it helps it says that I haven’t learned that recipe when I mouse over that one for the Arah dungeon vendor.
So I’m just confused about whether or not there even is a potion of Ghost Slaying or if Ghosts/Undead receive a damage bonus from the same thing.
