So we have a scenerio that we have been seeing all night.
Zerg caps keep A and goes to cap keep B. A dead mesmer in keep A won’t leave and wait for rez by a hidden thief who bug into wall with stealth and wait till safe and rez the mesmer. Then mesmer port friends in to keep A and re-cap it again before zerg even cap keep B. Then zerg comes back for keep A and the same thing happens in keep B all over again. The result is the 40 man zerg is running between the 2 keeps the whole night by few invaders in each keep who use the thief/mesmer combo.
Maybe this is not new topic. Maybe it’s good for casual players like me who get to enjoy free karma/exp :P But it surely is boring. Feels like running COF p1 gold farming over and over. This is intended, then WvW will get old pretty soon.
You have incredibly pathetic commanders and players if that happens, l2p.
They need to change the way ele trait combos work.
Because as i see it, there is Cantrips and auras, and who the kitten wants to run auras.

Welcome DB to megazerg warfare. Have your kites ready and may your towers be lined with arrow carts. Remember, megazergs all have something in common: they are somewhere out there and every moment they exist is a moment gone by, an opportunity for you to turn them into deadweight with superior siege warfare and reinvigorate the battlefield with recon and blitz warfare. This is the opportunity to redefine T2 and remove pure attrition. Retreat is not an act of cowardice. It is the necessity which arises when a battle of attrition is an inevitable slaughter. Integrity of the battle group and the opportunity to kite the megazerg isn’t retreat, it is tactical warfare. A camp for a camp. A tower to force the megazerg to reposition in its own territory. A megazerg can’t be in two spots at once. This is your challenge to be overcome in T2. Fail and be assimilated.

ME from YB you guys need to nut up or stop talking kitten stacking numbers does not equal skill or is a “genius” tactic we dont MOVE in fights because its running, its called positioning and we need REALLY GOOD positioning if we are to fight your 50+ guild/pug zerg. i have respect for most guilds in this tier but these guys are just bullkitten
Our theory is that after we stomped you at NE camp about 30 mins after reset under circumstances that were 100% in your favor, you’re scared. Really scared. Since then, you basically never attack us, even when you have the numbers advantage (which is actually quite frequently tbh). “Stomped” might be too kind a word I guess, it was such an embarrassing wipe that I was sort of surprised you guys didn’t rage-log out of disgust.
[TE] should try to stop hallucinating “50+” zergs to rationalize the reason they never win, otherwise you’ll never improve. Though at this point this is now a trend amongst DB guilds. We got under [BP]’s skin the same way.
TG is scared? I was there in vent when someone PM’d your leader, asking for a GvG right there and then, only to have the pathetic response of ‘we would like to but we have to deal with stuff in our bl’ when the entire yaks bl was owned by yaks (except greenbrair which we were holding out in – funny that), so dont go posting that bs.
We dont want ‘shineys’ we want legitimate improvements, changes and additions to wvw. number changes for seige damage dont really cut it for an update.
TSYM a fun target?
In the first 5 days we were in T3 I wracked up an amazing 8300 kills. Both YB and DB threw everything they had at us. It was fun, it was exciting, and it was definitely challenging.
In the last 7 days we wracked up about 430 kills. Rather than face the first challenge your tier gets in who knows how long, you chose to avoid us, and hit our homeland whenever we left it. Any time we took the field you scattered like roaches with the kitchen light turned on, and hit us where we weren’t. The ONLY decent challenge we had last match week was when BP was hammering us with everything they had while YB hit our hills the instant crossed swords showed. It was about 3 hours of run, wiping golems, defending massively one sided fights, and seeing great combat movements. The instant they took bay they moved, and joined in with the “dodge TSYM like we owe them money” initiative.
You had a solid chance to improve your team by facing mine. So yes, you can go back to your talentless ZvZ brawls, and BP I’m sure can go back to farming uncoordinated masses like its zombie land. Well go in search of a higher caliber of competition, one that might actually stay and fight!
Hey anyone in TSYM would you guys be interested in an evenly matched GvG verses Terror [TG]? We love to be humbled, and would post the results for everyone to see on the forums

Any ‘serious’ wvw player should be in a wvw guild, and any decent wvw guild should have gold to buy bp’s, or get the guild to run the JP once and inject a ton of bp’s that way.
Very simple. If a guild is not having fun in the only area of the game they focus on, the decisions are rather limited. If I had 10s for every time I got a message ‘wow, are you guys bored yet?’, I could have purchased Divinity Reach outright.
As a guild leader, you listen to your members and make the tough decision. If you’re in a guild who is having fun and feel challenged each trip out to WvW, you are lucky and no other decision needs to be made.
Now of course this reason is not as drama filled as some of the forum warriors thrive on but not much can be done about that.
For T3, hopefully Maguma can bring more WvW centric guilds during NA time to give both Yak and DB hell.
Good luck in Tier 3. Remember, it’s all about fun.
Tysm should honestly break up into 2 guilds, you guys are organised and fight well (i assume, hard to tell cause i never cull your full force so you could just be face mashing buttons) but youre never going to find a challenge in t3 when you roam as a cluster kitten all day.
Anyways, i always enjoy fighting yakkies and SoS seems to have handled its fall from grace well, look forward to fighting all of you in wvw.

Also its clear how you don t get debuffs when you enter zergs…
Proofs that you are going through LOT of friendly fields…and no opponent fields….If i could record vids i’d gladly show you how really is www…..as you get near any opponent zerg you see 2 lines of debuffs 4 stacks of confusion and poson bleeding weakness chilling etc etc etc.
You can t for sure wander around with impunity…..

Seriously, ele’s have amazing condition removal, conditions are not really a big issue compared to playing warrior/thief.

1st fight…opponent already lost zergs and was falling back….
2nd and 3rd and 4th zergs you enter area exactly where friendly mesmer staff 5 and quickness fields are…..(and any opponent in there is confused and we know how confusion works…
For 1 seconds you enter a necro field and your HP drops to 1/10 and you survive for pure luck.
Also as said you don t do anything useful….not to mention if any players decide to focus you (and i bet you didn t show any vid when they do) you already burnt your only surviving skill (rtl) to get in the zerg…..
There is a reason if you don t see many D/D ele near zergs…
P.S. also no mesmer focus 4/guardian walls/bubbles etc…..that would just show you how things really are…

Its funny, because across my toons i have a gear set for healing, tanking, and dps, along with weapons, trait sets, runes and changes in play style etc.
Gw2 does have those roles, but its is waaaaaaaaay less ingrained into the system then wow is, which basically says ‘you are a tank, here, have a tank skill so you can tank because you are a tank’.
Honestly, you sound like quite a casual player so im asuming you havent look into meta builds, trait synergy, rune effects so much (no offence intended), but if you do you will see that there certainly are roles to be played
Know who you will be commanding along side – generally there will be a PuG commander and several guild commanders. Get to know who runs what and communicate with the various guilds to do different objectives

AC is now stressful as hell, and after i get my 300th token i will NEVER RUN IT AGAIN – EVER.
I hate it now, and ive done each new path atleast 3 times each, and the old paths 50+ times.
One person i just ran with said ‘I didnt die this much, even on fractals 36’
And this was with a fairly balanced group of 80’s in full exotics.
This is the first dungeon, and probably second most popular, and in one fell swoop you manged to drive new players away from dungeons and drastically cut the AC population. Good work.

ITT – People who have no idea how teleportation works.
I play an ele, and one of my utilities is lightning flash, which i adore (go ahead and flame me now) for the mobility it can give me in a fight. However, there is no way that it can teleport onto keep walls, and nor can you teleport onto ground that you couldnt reach without jumping.
Well like i said in the ranger section, they need to give pet classes an ability to do petless builds which boost themselves up since pets do have kinda crappy AI.

From my perspective, you tell a pet what to attack and when to attack. You can tell it to join in your fights or stay out. I dont really understand what else (mechanic wise) you could want.
Unless youre talking about pets strafing and dodging etc, which i think isnt the direction anet wanted to take them, which was (imo) a slighty switched up dps mechanic.
I care about AVTR, because usually when i see one theres 14 more that have yet to cull and i know to get the hell out of there

Honestly i feel like the mods can CRY MOAR a lot of the time – wvw is highly competitive, and not only does it feel good to vent or QQ or gloat (even more so when your guild has consistently gone up against other guilds), but it enhances the whole experience of fighting for a server – who gives a hoot who youre fighting if they are just a faceless enemy, but when you know that the person that you just killed was from that guild that you saw kitten talking on the forums its great.
Personally i love to kitten talk Mag and FA, and i love it when you guys kitten talk back – its all part of the experience and really makes the experience, for me atleast.

if you are with a wvw guild (which tbh you should be if you are half serious about wvw) chances are you already are with a ‘warband’ that is your guild. Each commander tag that you see can sometimes be each guilds warband leader and is there for ease of organisation for the guild.
However there are times when there are a bunch on wealthy, unhelpful kittens that get off to the idea of leading people round for no real strategic benefit and that is when the map can begin to get unorganised and weak due to the pugs being all over the place
You made some good points, but i really disagree with the seige damage.
I mean, matches go for 7 days, you dont want to spend a whole day taking something do you? Imo that would be boring.
Maybe it would work if wvw wasnt so minigame-esque but that cant and wont change

for some people it is not the end game. for some people it is the ONLY game. logging in and seeing a queue on all 4 (4 ??? 1+ 3*1 more like it) borderlands only differs from having the server offline or being stuck on character selection because i can talk in guild chat.
how would pve players react if they logged in and found themselves in LA with a queue for all pve maps and all dungeons/fractals ?

Yeah id like to ad my experience with WM:
Our guild was defending ogrewatch after capturing our third of EB back, and what must of been the whole of WM + others (30-35 at a guess) converged on the small outcrop of rock just outside and built 3 catas. Knowing that we wouldnt have a whole lot of time before our walls fell i suggested that our guild group of about 15 rush their catas and destroy them in a suicide rush to buy our main zerg time to arrive.
So we rush them, and to our surprise, instead of fighting us and ripping us down with their superior numbers, they break and try to flank to the left in a merry game of follow the leader all the while our small group is tearing into them.
They leave into the orge village with about 20 KIA and not even really having put up a fight at all..
Yeah honestly im sorry kain, but you guys are going to need a lot better strats than just ‘’send out the response zerg!!’’ if you want to get passed t3
This matchup is so zergy. It’s either a massive Kaineng zerg or a massive DB zerg, or both. Haven’t found a single roaming guild from either server yet.

Making diferent borderlands for each server would generate QQ about how team X is winning because they have Y borderland… I hear that kind of thing since 2005 when Alterac Valley was implemented on World of Warcraft.
However i would change how the Borderlands currently are… Let’s see if i can make you people understand my idea.

With that vision, I think the borderlands maps need to change, as if you were actually being attacked by two differents worlds one at each side (yes, a 2v1 feeling, because it is what its suposed to be defending your homeland).
I did some paint-made sketch of how i think the maps should be… I don’t really care about the terrain, maybe some hills or more water… But not making some lowground useless place like the Bay Keep (which can’t counter treb anything but colorbriar).

S stands for Sentry StationsI think EB stayed pretty much the same with some minor changes on routes and 3 extra camps.
And for Sentry Stations, i don’t mean that lone guard sitting on the road waiting for the next noob to come pummel him… I’d turn it into a Small Tower (like the ones the dredge use on Lornar Pass and Dredgehaunt Cliffs) with a few guards who can actually stop undefended supply caravans (and give a little more trouble for solo roamers/escorts).
I’ve also removed Skritts, Centaurs, Quaggans, Hyleks, Dredges and Ogres from the sketchs and added a few more Camps and Towers (Maybe that would make PvP’ers happy, since they call it PvE stuff).
Take them away? sure why not, kind of a nuisance
not sure how many are in the same boat as me (but i feel its quite a few) but i rolled a warrior at launch and got to 80 but then i rerolled and now roll an ele

Yep i agree with this – if you took one servers worth of zerg and dispersed them evenly into wvw guilds your server could probably make it into t1 or 2 no sweat.
The new gear that one can buy with laurels. great, another way to get that shiny fractal equivalent gear that w3 players can only dream of. but oh woe, it doesn’t come at the cost of badges. as a mather of fact you need a new currency. you need to do dailies for this currency.

5 eventswhat a joke. 4 pve tasks and … one crafting ? nothing w3 related ? this clearly is not the gear they promised we would be able to get via w3 and it certainly is not a w3 based character progression system but a completely unconnected set of gear.
now that that misunderstanding is gone, i can only say i am looking forward to the w3 gear and char progression in february.
Less QQ man, those can all be done in wvw, and even an exclusive wvw player should have SOME mats to put together to craft 10 things.
The dailys have to cater for the whole spectrum of the playerbase – you make it sound like you want criteria like ‘’capture redvale’’ or ‘’spend 200 supply’’ which obviously pve players cant do
Does Mag roam with anything other than FOTM D/D eles?
Thieves and D/D eles are much better at escaping from zergs than other classes, so of course there will be more of them roaming.
Lol coming from a War player, the guild who fields d/d eles almost exclusively

As for me, i feel theres a certain intrinsic loyalty to any server i play on – meaning ill spend hours of my time just to help our server win, but maybe thats just to competitive spirit

You make good points: Vale treb is just one of the many ‘plays’ that a group can make in wvw – it inspires a counter-play of going in and destroying it. Just because you can place a treb in vale doesnt eliminate the other options of attack? Server A will attack the west and server B will attack the east, thats how its set up and thats how it usually goes.
If server A attacks bay – working as intended
If server B attacks bay – likely to get hit by server A, and then a glorious threesome occurs in which everyone can get soaked in the blood of their enemy. I see no problem here?
