If you played GW2 before, I would recommend that you don’t delete any of your already created characters.
Why? Because those characters have their traits unlocked(except 1GM trait for each line). The new trait system is manageable, but can be a kitten when some adept traits are unlocked at level 60 (If you don’t spend gold + skill points to get them).
Also those characters will get birthday gifts. Free stuff is still free stuff.
Many things changed, but if you aren’t allergic to google, you should find out what those changes are.
Cheers!
You should try lowering the gamma value from the default 1.00 to 0.80 . That would make the colours more vibrant and also makes nights darker.
I personally think that the game looks better with a gamma value of 0.80 instead of the default.
Do note that changing the in-game gamma value only works if you’re playing full-screen.
You can move around that bar, but I suggest you type the desired value instead.
If you don’t know where to go to change the gamma value, it’s
Options > Graphics Options > Display > Full-Screen Gamma
Ehm, ok, your mentor didn’t made the choices but neither did we! I had to go after this other “unintelligent” asura and his stupid ideas even though i didn’t aggree with his outrageously demential plans.
True, he convinced the PC to push the infinity ball to the limit. But it was more entertaining than being Zojja’s “apprentice”(that’s the impression I got from the other two stories).
I guess my memory failed me when I said that they worked.
Just tested them on my OoW and Priory characters, and they don’t allow me to pass.
Proof:
I think it’s the same model as the ones available from merchants. It’s probably made this way to avoid “gathering” mats from them.
I can use all the asura gates (OoW/Vigil/Priory). All the NPCs guarding them recognize me as the Commander and let me pass.
All the rare(intricate) skins will be the gladiator set, always the same skin(applicable to all crafting skills). The only skins that do change are the ones from the fine/masterwork crafts.
Nobody in my groups ever crashed when I used one.
You should watch that video Jonathan made with gw2guru. He answered this.
Ok, I watched the video, and this wasn’t asked:
In-game VoIP Communication
So, Jonathan said the match-making will still face PUGs vs. a pre-made(full/partial) group, only that they will be on the same experience level(newbies vs. newbies/pros vs. pros).
But what about the communication?
That pre-made team will most likely have (almost) all it’s members on Mumble/TeamSpeak/Ventrilo(etc.), compared to the PUG that will not have this due to the random factor.
PUGs would benefit from it, making communication better, improving their overall performance.
So:
Are there any plans to include a VoIP communication system into GW2?
I just copy+paste’ed the most relevant result I have found with google. I haven’t found any specific recipe for it. People do post on the gw2guru forums recipes that they find, so lurk those and see if you can find it.
If my earlier post made you believe that was the exact recipe for it, then I apologize and I should had chosen my words better.

Good luck!

That’s why I chose not to use the hairstyles that use large accessories. They look good, yes, but the thought that I would have to match my whole armour to them turned me off.
Thank you for all the answers!
Google found me this:

I would like to know some critresults from tiger tokens. Report in if anyone knows the ones below please
tiger+shield+sliver = what crit result?
tiger+armor+sliver = what crit result?
I might be wrong but i believe it’s the Blood Bulwark Shield for the crit, you also get the Tusked Defender and another that i can’t remember.

From guildwars2guru.com forums.
This happen to me as well while doing free tourneys, just that the loading screen ended when the match was over and I was ported back to the Heart of the Mists.
It only happened when I died and I was going to respawn, only to my surprise I was rendered useless for the rest of the fight. I could still hear what was going on, only that I was stuck on a loading screen until the match was over.
So no Alt + F4 for me.. only the sound of the other team slaughtering mine.
None of the masks is called “Death”.
It’s “Trickster Demon”(snake eyes), “Skull”(probably black?) or “Ghostly Wraith”(blue’ish “dead” eyes). I think they are listed in that exact order too.
Now, all of these masks will change your eye colour accordingly to fit the mask’s aesthetic.
Unequip the mask and your eyes to be back to the colour you have chosen.
And this is not a bug, it’s intended, to keep the aesthetics of the masks.
You mean the Ghostly Wraith mask? Yes it does change your eyes to fit the aesthetic of the mask, same applies to the Skull and Trickster Demon.
It is not a bug, it is intended.
I suggest to turn off Autotargeting, and use the “autoattack”(skill no.1) with no target at all, only acquire one(target) when you plan using no.2(as it doesn’t work without one).
“More generally, I hope we’ve been clear that GW2 is not a game with virtually no stat progression in it like GW1 was. That’s why GW2 shipped with a higher level cap, and with a hard separation between PvE and PvP. In GW1 we never advanced the level cap through four campaigns/expansions. The game design didn’t allow for it. But GW2 was designed without those restrictions, and we’ve always expected that we will someday raise the level cap in GW2.”
BOOO! Please do not increase the level cap!
All I want to know is if the risen’s behaviour, after we kill the priestess and the WP is not contested any more, is normal.
Why do they keep coming in waves(just like when fighting the priestess)? They ignore the NPCs present there(vendors etc) and only attack players that happen to use that WP or that are “shopping”. These guys should stop spawning once the players control the area.
Catapults, why do they still stand regardless of the Pact controlling the area? These things should also despawn or be inactive(Ossuary of Unquiet Dead).
So, is this behaviour intended?
I can confirm this, It first happened quite some time ago(around launch) with an elementalist’s ember. I thought it got fixed, but a couple of days ago I was playing with a ranger and suddenly this sound(like someone cooking pop-corn) starts, very loud, when his pet bear was walking.
Oh c’mon.. I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw the eggs.. =))
The first two you can avoid by picking other choices, but the bear shaman you can’t dodge. I guess it’s just “bad luck”. If you had chosen other paths you would had seen some asura dying or a whole squad.. =D
- Apatia is because of the choice made wt the Pale Tree.
- Hekja is because you chose to kill the mouth in it’s lair instead of cutting off the supply(that also ends killing the mouth and no hot norn chick dies in the process).
If you are Vigil, you probably think that there’s some conspiracy against norns. =))

I wish these “pianos”(at least the quaggan organ) didn’t had any CD for using the keys. I press a key and then 0.5 CD.. you can’t play anything that is slightly faster..
What’s the frequency with what this sound plays? Sounds just like that bug with someone’s pet’s footsteps/wings.
This is what I use for PvE:
Axe-Focus/Staff, Chill, DS, Power/Crit
I find “Chill” very useful, especially in Orr against the abominations, and I can keep it on target for as long as I please. Could swap BiP for Epidemic if AoE chills are needed, or another well and use ground targeting.
It’s not 100% wells. It’s still ranged. Death Shroud’s “Life Blast”/“Life Transfer” hits hard. It uses Staff(not as main set though). Survivability is still good(DS/Spectral Walk/Spectral Armour).
Utilities:
“Consume Conditions”.
I keep “Blood is Power” for the might stacks and some extra damage trough bleeds.
“Spectral Walk” is just awesome for getting out of a stun/sticky situation or any other strategy using “Recall”.
“Well of Suffering” for extra AoE and Vulnerability. Works fine despite not going into Blood for CD reduction.
Elite: “Lich Form” deals great damage(sometimes I use “Flesh Golem”).
Weapons:
Axe: Good damage, 600 range, AoE cripple/Retaliation, Vulnerability, Great Life Force gain.
Focus: Regeneration, Vulnerability, Chill, Boon removal.
Staff: I use it more as a secondary weapon for more chills; transfer my conditions; AoE fear.
Armour: I use a Berserker’s set along with Berserker’s trinkets.
Hope it helps.

Yes please! Shut him up!!
Arven Wolfskin. I like it, sounds good.

Gunnr is also the name of a Valkyrie in Norse Mythology.
I remember when I did the Skritt story.. I laughed so hard, their dialogue is very funny. Quaggans are a bit funny Spoiler:more so if you go with Baroosh/offense, only that they are extra cute and adorable.
Conclusion? Tastes differ.
From the wiki:
An asura’s name usually consists of a short, sharp first name with one or two syllables. Feminine asura names typically end in -i or -a vowel sounds, and the masculine in a consonant sound. Any asura whose name does not follow these rules may risk ridicule during childhood. Both male and female Asuras typically have two of the same letter in a row somewhere in their name. Asura do not have a last name, instead opting to use job titles, a krewe name, or honorifics to differentiate themselves. Those who choose to take a last name of a style similar to humans are rare and are considered eccentrics, though their surname is often ignored by other asura.
And about the ears.. choose whatever you think it looks good for you.
The TP UI is nothing but a web browser built into the game.
It would take a lot of time and resources to let us preview items in game.
You can already preview the city clothes from the Gem Store.

No quivers due to clipping issues.
Has been discussed before. If clipping issues is the real issue, we need to get rid of daggers. And foci. And swords. And pistols. And pants. And hair. And …
And charrs.
Don’t forget the asura!
On topic:
Yes I would like to see a quiver on my ranger/warrior’s back when using bows. Pulling arrows out of thin air(magical world or not) is not fun.

What are your PC’s specs?
That camp looks like if a “Defend the Camp” DE got bugged and the bandits keep spawning/scaling to the number of players in the area, etc. The first time I got there via the escort event, and thought waves of bandits were related, but then I saw that they kept spawning and spawning endlessly. It’s funny how there are no bots there though =)).
This actually doesn’t look that bad on a asura, since they look as if they’re wearing wigs anyway. =D
Edit: Sorry I didn’t noticed that it’s a laptop.
Missed that “M” from the CPU.
Have you tried that program “Driver Scanner(?)” ? Maybe it can find some update for your GPU, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

But I heard from somewhere that people were saying that that line was the most disappointing…? I hope it’s as good as you three say it is ^^
Tastes differ.
Edit2: I’d say the joke-line of the Asura, the one I at least find most hilarious, is the VAL-A golem. A butler golem goes on a murderous rampage and says things like “Polishing liver…. uhh, silver.” and such while trying to slaughter you.
Hmm.. yes, I believe you are right on this.
I’ve yet to try out the Infinity ball line, so I can’t say anything about this unfortunately :c
You should, if you want to know the full potential of the player asura’s genius!
@Ryuujin:
Yes, I was also pleased to see that the explanation of all that was the player asura.
(edited by Beyreva.8769)
Hmm, whenever this happened to me, “Exit to desktop” always fixed it. Though I haven’t seen it happen lately.
I am so happy that I couldn’t stand my previous asura’s face and deleted him.
When I created my new and enhanced asura, I have chosen the Infinity Ball, since I played trough the other two on previous occasions(other deleted asuras). At first I thought this was the “joke” option(just like circus for humans or getting drunk for norn), but I was wrong.
This is the most personal story so far. I loved how your mentor didn’t had any weight on the decisions you made, it was all you. And the way it ended? I didn’t saw that coming!
Great job on this one ANet! Too bad it all goes downhill from now on.. if only my asura would keep acting like one for the rest of it..
I don’t believe that an asuran warrior needs justification, honestly. They’ve existed in lore since pre-GW1 (via Eye of the North stories).
An asuran warrior is just an asura that respects martial puzzles as much as mental puzzles. Warriors don’t have to be strong or stupid. In fact an asuran warrior is most probably unbelievably intelligent to the point that she’s augmented her physical capabilities in some absurd way. For example she might have created a golem-like exoskeleton or hand/foot binders or something that give her the ability to turn ogre skulls to dust with a single punch.
I actually believe that there were asura in GW1 working on just such a device. It’d be a branch of Dynamics and Golemancy.
That’s why my guardian went with the College of Dynamics.
My golemancer skills and knowledge will allow me to create a enhanced armour by adapting the Power Crystals used for golems. Controlling it won’t be an issue since we invented the golem-to-pilot interfacing that was presented with the M.I.G. who won the Snaff Prize!
For me, the middle stone from the low(last) row gave me problems and had to play around with how I placed the tear on top of it to get it to work. Maybe in your case it’s another one.. I don’t know.. try and play a bit with them see if it helps.
This used to happen randomly before Halloween ended, but ever since I don’t have the option to invite any more by right-clicking their names in chat.
Waited for it to reset and did it again. Works fine on Underworld(EU).
Went trough this place again. Freshly baked screen-shots! I had some problems lighting the 4th torch, but after some attempts it opened the gate.
1st pic: Upon arrival;
2nd pic: After 1st torch lit;
3rd pic: After 2nd torch lit;
4th pic: After 3rd torch lit;
5th pic; Final 4th torch lit and gate opened.
I have no problems playing the game using Game Booster 3. I haven’t tampered with the program’s ports and such, only removed one option that wouldn’t allow me to use the printer while on “Gaming mode”.
@ArcTheFallen:
All this program does is close processes and applications that you wouldn’t normally use while playing a game, freeing resources and RAM.
Hmm if you never got the choice, had you tried exiting the instance and resetting the story? Or you continued with the “houseplant” path?
I can’t go back to that mission as I don’t have any more character slots available. Also I did this mission a couple of days ago(after the Halloween event ended/Before the dye patch). And if it may be server related, I’m on Underworld(EU).
Those pants never required the crafting pieces(panels etc.) to craft them. And I never looked at how many mats were needed since I had loads of them. But yeah the quantities needed do look suspicious.
Maybe next Halloween? I don’t know what to say, I just made sure I had it on all the characters I wanted to long before the event was ending.
