Worked fine for me, went with Larra(screw that houseplant). And yes Carys’s hammer makes the same sounds as the Greatsaw greatsword.
Even necromancer(Oola).
Yes, a list of the things discussed in that video would be nice. [Edit]

Every race becomes “human” and suddenly grows some hero’ish tuberculosis. Norn stop boasting about how great/strong they are; Charr stop being ferocious and militaristic; Asura drop all of their arrogance/evilness; I haven’t played any Sylvari past level 11, so I can’t say how this transition goes, they stop being “I love everything”?
The “Frezy” buff they all have makes them move so fast. You get an appropriate run speed for a zombie(ihmo), only if you chill them =)).
Also he can pull the elementals(2 at a time) from each portal and reach Kudu safely. Then after Kudu is “dead”, turn around and repeat the process(some of the elementals have re-spawned by now), destroying the portals at the same time.
I did not found this mission to be difficult.
but wouldnt that be 1.×.×.x? not 15,whatever?
Each one to his liking.

@Fantasma Of Doom:
No, your camera will not remain in the exact spot/angle if you log off/exit. Just go to a place that provides an easy to reproduce scenario and take two screen-shots.
Here’s an example(attachments):
See how I used the logs to reproduce the same angle/position in both screens? Find something similar.
1st photo is without the FoV Beta.
2nd photo is with the FoV Beta
Notice how you can see more of the logs under my charracter and more of the sky(vertically)? And also the moon that doesn’t show up with the normal FoV(horizontally)?
@Tech guys:
This new FoV is an improvement, but as someone else has pointed out in an earlier post, the vertical FoV still isn’t the same as an 4:3 aspect ratio.
Also the camera’s position(vertically) should be moved a tidy bit higher. Where the character’s head is, or above. As it stands, the camera is focused at the chest and it feels as if the character stands in our(my) way.
A 1st person zoom in would be great!
And lastly, make the FoV a slider, so that people can adjust it to their liking/PC limitations.

I have a female charr, it’s my highest level character at the moment. I’m not really a fan of the voice though, seems more fitting for a human.
I’d love it if the voice was more like Sicaea the Shrouded’s (Ash story) or Elexus Shredskin’s (Blood story).
Oh my, I loved that voice, and I hated it at the same time as it wasn’t the voice of the female charr player. =D They should had passed the voices trough a mixer to make them sound more beastly, as they did with the male ones. Most female charr sound like ill humans.

Amazing! It looks AMAZING!! Oh my, I can see so much sutff now.. Please please make it a slider(for those who like the original FoV)
Just look at the screen-shots, this is GOLDEN KITTEN!!
@sushihead:
Only passive traits work(You skills are disabled), warrior banners and boosters bought from the gem store(there might be more that I don’t know about). But for some people(like me) the speed buffs only make us perform worse.
Oh, the big races aren’t that much of an issue(yes they can block all your screen at the start when the camera starts acting funky), what bothered me the most where these grievers that kept summoning minions(Golems mostly).
When I jumped trough instances to find an appropriate group composition I stumbled on this group with like 6 asura, and I said: “Cool, I’ll have no trouble here seeing the puzzle”. But when the puzzle started they all had summoned golems and other minions, doubling the party size. I was pretty mad at that time failing repeatedly at this one spot that I sent them all to hell and left that instance. Luckily for me the next instance only had 4 persons in it 1 norn, 1 human and another asura. This was just golden, and I managed to complete it!
Yes, turning chat off helps big time!
So if you’re being dominated you also should pay more for repairs? Ha! Really? Just swap the buffs(Outmanned/Orbs).
The % to get a token is actually better than magic find, so yeah I like that idea, but it should be 33% with all, 11%/Orb(100% is too much). The same goes for repairs, 33% for 3 Orbs.
Oh my, I laughed so hard when I saw this topic’s title, and while reading trough it.. =D
Yeah, the jagged horrors are just some emo bunnies.
Oh, those goggles Vaatlaw mentions look horrible(nowhere near that concept art), you’re better off using the Noble set’s Head piece, or the Leather set’s one, they look so much better, the second one being the best(imho). Also if you haven’t noticed yet, MOST armour clips with the tail and the textures look stretched, as if you had stolen some human’s coat.
I tried playing a female charr, I really tried, but the voice turns me off. She sounded like a human female that has a cold, and most of the female NPCs don’t sound charr’ish at all. The male voices on the other hand(most of them) sound very beastly.
Also, the faces are just too cute, and the scary looking one is just horrible. That facial hair looks like if it was glued to the face rather than having grown, I’d rather have that face “shaved” just like Scorchrazor’s statue.
The teeth also are badly designed, whenever she opened her mouth to talk in the cut-scenes I could see that the upper canines were just as big as the lower ones, only that they clip trough the mandible instead of being on the exterior just like all the other faces. I haven’t looked at them while maxing their size, but I bet they pierce right trough. And that just doesn’t look right to me, why an animal would be “stabbing” himself? The similar looking male one(in terms of teeth), actually has the upper canines small, not just as huge to clip trough. Just as they changed Rytlock’s teeth, that if they were a little bigger, they would be “growing” out of his nose when he has his mouth closed. And have you seen him while he talks during the AC intro? Horrible!
And that’s why I don’t play a female charr.

@TheLaughingMan:
My charr is a thief and it was actually interesting how all was better for a couple of seconds at the start, after I cloaked the whole group with shadow refuge before the start.
@Paranormal Bear:
I already to that, it’s like when I’m driving. Failure occurs due to my character getting stuck into the cogwheel’s cogs and other places, camera zooming in focusing the floor(can be avoided by going into a more isometric angle, reducing considerably the distance of vision), and(not that often) my charr’s running animation turning into a head-bashing against the floor one, due to having no weapons equipped =D; and of course my own flawed decisions/actions.
I should really go sleep now…
8h trying to complete that freaking jumping puzzle. I just couldn’t make it fast enough to jump down before the green ooze(or that ever the kitten it is) reached that height. I kept getting stuck into those cogwheels and at that piece of wall right before the stairs that lead to the double bars.
Not to mention the camera that kept zooming in on the floor at those rocks at the start(where the wall gets blasted to create more platforms) and at the piece of wall mentioned earlier. I find the ooze to be so fast that even the slightest error leads to failure.
I started on my asura, couldn’t see a thing with the whole crowd of tall characters(including humans) covering my character. Then I tried on my human, again couldn’t see a thing due to tall characters. Finally I ended on my max size charr with whom I got the best results as I was actually capable of seeing where my character was standing, but this also brought some problems as my charr when not wielding weapons sometimes stops running on all fours and holds his hands backwards while he repetitively hits the ground with his head(sharing my feeling with the situation at hand).
No, i did not found this puzzle fun at all, it is tedious. Chaos Crystal Cavern was fun, very fun as the chain of puzzles from Metrica Province.
I will try again to beat the kitten thing after I get some rest, and buy a new mouse as the one I have got damaged in the process.

On the fire traps, the actual burning(condition) is what will kill you, bring any condition removals you can spam there and a speed buff, you should be fine. The spike traps are quite easy, the safe zones are obvious and they don’t do that much damage. And don’t worry, there is a trap after the fire ones that you’ll love! I did this with a level 16’ish thief.
Also the coats/robes need the waist looked at as well. At the moment they are modelled around the torso(as latex), now this doesn’t look bad on humanoids(their posture dissimulates this), but on charr it makes all coats/robes look like victorian dresses. The cloth should drop down from the chest down, not stick to the waist. It just looks silly.. look at the cultural sets, the robes follow the posture nicely.
Only the head piece is worth it from that set. T2 and 1 look far better.
Today I stepped in WvW for the 1st time, I am on the dominated server and I saw that I had this “Outmanned” buff. At first I was happy: “Oh, cool! I get a stats boost!”, but then I accidentally move the pointer over it and I glimpsed at the word “Magic”. Then I took a closer look.. my poor sound card now has a broken jack from the impact between the tower and the wall behind it.
Please fire the guy who thought this was a bright idea!
Cultural armor would be the best. Normal helmets are modeled for more humanoid races. That being said, once I got the Tier 3 heavy helmet, I will never trade it in for anything else.
Except if you have the “beard” face. That one clips with the T3 heavy helm. If my memory doesn’t fail me, that’s the only helm from the cultural side that does clip with that face. =P

There is this chain of events that starts from the Sharptail Encampment, located north of Guardpoint Decimus.
First you need to escort a group of Ash Legion concerned about these special stones, that the ascalonian ghosts plan to use against them, to set up a forward camp before engaging to destroy said stones.
All good so far.
Next you need to escort them trough the nearby ruins as they deploy explosives on each of the four sites.
All god here as well, but the next event is just insane.
So you’re on you way back to the camp, after successfully destroying the stones when, this event triggers to defend the camp from the ghosts whose plans you just ruined.
And it does when you are like 10 seconds away from the camp, enough time from the camp’s tents to take some damage.
This event has a timer of 7:00 minutes, during which waves of ghosts will charge towards the tents to destroy them. This wouldn’t be a problem, except that the two tents needing protection have quite a small amount of HP compared to the number of ghosts that spawn with each wave, aggravating with each player joining. With only four players present during the event: each wave of ghosts contains aprox. 10-15 ghosts( both melee and ranged), and there will spawn two waves almost simultaneously(for each tent). They will bring the tents down very fast if they aren’t killed swiftly(basically nuking them with AoE), making very difficult, almost impossible, for those four players to last those 7:00 minutes. Adding more players increases the number of ghosts and the damage the tents take from the ghosts before they are killed, while the tent’s HP remains the same.
Maybe make the tents have more hit points depending on how many players participate? Reduce the number of ghosts? Make it start when the NPCs from the escort event are back at the camp?The current state of this event is just.. not fun?
I got similar results by lowering in-game gamma to 0.80.
Also choose Dinky!
Choosing Dinky? As in “there are other options”? Unacceptable.
My thief got Clawspur. =D
Grrr.. be grateful you’re not a Charr. At least the armour looks good on you, it’s not stretched, does have clown shoes or clips with most parts of your body.
@Reclusiarh
There is W v W armor? really?
The karma vendor in WvW. Go to your server’s borderline in WvW, and near the point where you spawn (behind you I think) there is this large building with some vendors inside.
This would apply to the “moved to this section” replies as well.
I think that’s the Ash Tribune’s HQ. Go to the Imperator’s WP and then enter that room on the left(facing the door to the Command Core). Approach the red gate inside and you should be prompted to enter the instance.
Also this topic should be in the Charr forum.
Is it really just me, or this guy’s attire is completely out of place? All the other bosses, and even the “trash” mobs have sylvari clothes, yet this guy, a “knight of the court” dresses like a common human bandit.. Was this just a place-holder armour that somehow someone forgot to change?
I think the heavy armour has the smallest percentage of clipping. Light has the highest and medium is right behind light. Even the cultural sets clip!
For my engineer, I think I’ll never ever change T1 cultural, and for my elementalist I I’ll go for T2(I like it more than T1 and T3 CLIPS!).
YAY US?
Try the cultural ones, they are made for horns and ears.
Click on - If the shamans are the problem, we have to convince the people directly.
It will open up the two paths to convince them.
Also remember that the actual choices, will never have that green arrow icon(the arrow means “to be continued”), they have a yellow/orange traffic sign(a road splitting).
(edited by Beyreva.8769)
Go warrior, and Blood Legion. Also choose Dinky!
+1 Please position the pistol(s) correctly.
X the Harrowing?
I have a charr engineer and I chose The Vigil, because the chest piece they have it’s not a trench coat.
Or log off to character selection screen.
Search for a post on the same subject and you might find your answer..
Oh, so you got even less than me..
I saved 6 villagers from the harpies all by myself with my engineer and I got silver, killed countless harpies on my way to them and while escorting them out.
This was the first time I saw this event working, but the reward I got was really disappointing.
My personal concern is that it feels like Flame Blast should be an AoE target skill like Napalm.
You’re always around 400 to 500 range to attack, yet the blast damage can only be achieved at 600+ range. Feels like a lot of DPS that’s not being utilized. We should be able to control where we want it to explode.
Exactly! When I first used the skill I pressed twice on the key to make it explode, but to my surprise it never did. Then I looked at the skill bar to see if the skill changes after I launch the ball and it didn’t. It only explodes at it’s max range, and I doesn’t work if don’t have a target. I would like to see it behave as the orb on the guardian’s staff, that once it’s launched you can trigger the explosion when you want or like a targeted AoE attack.
@StickMan:
I have the back item that gets rewarded from the personal story, the first one, and I can’t place any kind of upgrade to it, not even the lowest possible gems I have in the bank. I don’t have any level 80’s atm, so I cannot verify if only the level 80 back items can be upgraded, but my guildies linked various of their own with a gem. So my guess is that all the lower level back items can’t be upgraded. I haven’t tried the guild backpacks yet.. so.. I don’t know..
The backpacks also clip with the backpack from the back slot. I’ll attach a screen soon’ish.
(edited by Beyreva.8769)
This happens with all the lower level(Not 80) back items. I asked in the guild chat about it, and they can upgrade level 80 pieces. But I cannot place a gem (or whatever upgrade they use) in any of my back items.
I wish they made it so dragons wipe the floor with players.
Even with 100 players, it should be a gruelling victory and the dragon should wreck stuff.
The pre-nerf Flame Legion Shaman did a kitten good job of destroying people.
You mean the shaman from the Iron Marches? North-West? I did it a couple of day ago with a group of 5-6 people. Man that was fun!
If you would actually play a bit with the first question you would know that it is a mask.
“A necromancers closest companion is death. In acknowledgement of this, I mark my face with a symbol of a ……………………….”
The cultural sets are not about the stats/quality. They’re there for the skin. Nothing else.
What do you think about this combination? (Medium)
- PvP Leather Helm
- Arms of Koda
- Trapper Coat
- Claws of Koda
- Orrian Leggings
- Paw of Koda
