Why is your character suddenly promoted from Legionnaire to Centurion?

I think that’s because, for whatever reason, Rytlock is just a little bit higher in command, and so a lot of the things that you need to do fall under his jurisdiction.
The thing is, that from character creation you’re told that this land(Ascalon) belongs to the Iron Legion. The other two legions are “guests” that came over to help with the ghosts and such, but the Black Citadel(Ascalon) is under Iron Legion “jurisdiction”. I know that Rytlock is a big-shot and everything, but I can’t understand how my character, Iron Legion, considers that he doesn’t need to report his findings to his own legion 1st. If you didn’t chose Blood Legion, Rytlock should be there only as a consultant, and you character should report to his respective tribune.
“I respect no authority but the clenched fist of my Legion.”

What It made even less sense to me is that my tribune, the Iron Legion Tribune, disappears from my personal story and instead, me a Iron Legion legionnaire, I somehow have joined the Blood Legion since I report only to Rytlock.
Most guardian charr NPC I’ve seen are Iron Legion.
There is a couple talking near the Black Citadel entrance about going to grab a drink.
I don’t know.. As they seem to be a very stealthy and reserved race I wouldn’t like to see hundreds of largos running around.
A week ago, my brother and his fiancĂ©e were watching “The Beauty and the Beast” the 1991 animated film. And when I saw the beast, I said: “Oh.. this looks just like the charr from GW2”.
What do you guys think?
None, they talked about it during the early stages, and said no. That weed(as I like to call him) wields a special sword created by the Pale Tree, Caladbolg, that has a great power, hence why he uses a mixture of skills, not just guardian skills. That’s why he uses those skills, not because he has two professions.
Could you please make them stand still while in the character creation?
It’s very hard to work on the facial details when they keep moving their head from side to side looking around all the time. Fine tuning these parts(eyes, eyebrows) takes a lot of time due to their eyes moving constantly as well as their eyebrows.
Please, make them stand still.
Thank you.

I would like to see the dances depend on race, profession and gender, as in a female human necromancer would not have the same dance as a female norn necromancer etc.
I believe all scepters hit a single target. By that I mean, all professions able to wield one, their no.1 skill doesn’t hit multiple targets.
(edited by Beyreva.8769)
I think that by choices you made, you had the misfortune(in your case) that they happened to be norn. I’m guessing that you chose The Vigil?
Blood Fiend = Wind Rider
Bone Fiend = Devourer
Flesh Wurm = I shouldn’t have to say
Bone Minion/Jagged Horror = Rats/baby skritt (they look very similar to me)
Shadow Fiend = Random summoned Spirit
Flesh Golem = An abomination, although i’ve heard the argument it’s a dredge, i personally think it’s just a bunch of corpses thrown together.
I actually think the Flesh Golem is a Charr. He does make the same sounds as one.
As for all the green, well it’s the profession’s theme colour. I do agree that the minions look too cute, the flesh is too fresh as well.
Hahahaha! Nicely done!
Transfusion is Blood Magic VI Trait, not Soul Reaping.

Schizophrenia.. our characters seem to have it. One time I was defending myself from some skale when I hear this voice telling me: " Kill them all!!". =D
@Dibrom:
I am not complaining about the current state of the minion’s AI.
Reanimatior, the way it is now, still doesn’t benefit those who don’t use minions, not even a MM does benefit from it(except if using Death Nova).
@Kayotik:
Yes, those skins would be great! They would actually be horrifying.
Reanimator in it’s current state actually works that way, I don’t see anything wrong with benefiting from an enemy’s death.
Minions can deal nice damage when they focus the same target.
About balance, I doubt that the way Jagged Horror works now it’s actually intended.
Ok, so I had this ide.. err.. this sinister voice whispered me right before I went to sleep. Now that I am awake I thought to share it with you guys.
What would you guys say if they swapped the grandmaster trait “Death Nova” with the minor adept trait “Reanimator”?
Don’t jump at my throat yet!! Wait..
I’m not talking about keeping the Jagged Horror as it is now, but make it worth being there. Right now we get a smaller bone minion that last 6 seconds. What if they “transferred” the Jagged Horror skin from GW1, gave it the same HP as Flesh Golem(without the out of combat regeneration) or a bit less, but without applying any HP degeneration. And they would apply 1 stack of bleed every 2/3 attacks.
So, what do you guys think?
TL;DR:
I think Death Nova it’s not so great as a Grandmaster trait so why not swap it for the minor Adept trait Reanimator, with some changes of course.
I saw that only the melee minions have this issue(Flesh Golem, Bone Minions,Shadow Fiend), The Wurm, Blood Fiend and Bone Fiend don’t have this “disease”.
But luckily you can “force” them into combat, Flesh G. and Shadow F. by using their skills and the Bone Minions by positioning yourself and blowing them up.
The latest patch notes say that they fixed “chillbains” with “greater marks”. I am not in-game right now as I am too tired, so I cannot confirm. =P

I think you need to go by the water(Left of Penitent Path).
In order to avoid being blown away from the thin path, use the boon “Stability”. If your profession cannot provide that boon, ask a friend to come with you and buff(ex. Guardians have shout).
No, you cannot avoid doing that particular mission. And your mentor mocking you all the way(That ring thing, she was mocking you) does not help either.

There is a Camera/Position slider in Options, that moves it horizontally when not zoomed out.
I think “Thriller” was the necromancer dance in GW1. Don’t be selfish.. why only for Asura? For all of us!
Please remove this line from the necromancer’s repertoire:
’…BUT I HAND-RAISED THAT MINION!!!"
All the other reaction to minion deaths don’t really bother me, but this one.. this one just doesn’t fit at all.
I am playing a minion master, and I get to hear that line quite often, thanks to that useless jagged horror.
And also some of the warnings for certain conditions(bleeds, poison). I am bleeding/poisoning myself, I shouldn’t be surprised or shocked about it..
That’s all. Thank you.
I want a hammer. Just like Necromancer Munne had one.
Xue Yaomei; Necromancer; Canthan.
The name’s meaning should be “Capitaving Snow”(in chinese), if my google skills haven’t failed me. I found it fitting as Grenth is the god of death and ice.
Victor Harrowing; Mesmer; Krytan.
Named after my GW1 character Fiona Harrowing.
For the Humans and Norn, you get a priest/shaman that has no dialogue at all except for the generic “Hello”.
Yes it would be great if it was as you said. But if you don’t hurry to be the 1st who enters, you are just a mere spectator.
Correction: Being the party leader doesn’t imply that your character will show up in the cut-scenes, it’s whoever manages to enter the dungeon first.

You are warned, this post will contain spoilers from the Human(Commoner) Personal Story!
Ok, let’s begin. Hello, I would like to share my experience with the human story line, in particular the human commoner.
I have made a new character, a human(not my first one), and chose that it would be a human female commoner who’s sister was supposedly killed by centaurs. Since I had played the “sister storyline” before, when I created the character, I made her look canthan, with a fitting name. Now I will jump forward to the parts I am disappointed with.
The Hospital/Orphanage choice has no repercussion on the home instance at all. After all that talk about how the choices I make would shape my home instance, I expected to see the Orphanage(since I saved the Hospital) burned, demolished or being repaired. But when I entered my home instance after I made my choice and completed that part, the Orphanage is still there, as if nothing had happened at all.
In the “sister storyline”, when Logan asks me about my family’s linage, right before I am prompted to make that choice, my character mentions the sister’s name: Deborah. This is wrong, my character should had used “my sister” until I, the player, make the choice. And then the name of the sister should vary accordingly to the choice made, as it does with her character model. But no, her name is Deborah, even if she’s from Cantha or Elona.
Also about the sister, where is she? I have searched for her in every corner of the home instance and she is nowhere to be found. I assume since I chose “commoner” my character lives at the inn with Andrew and Petra, so she should be there.
These are the things that literally kitten me off so far. I do appreciate that Andrew and Petra have more dialogue than Lord Farren’s/Riot Alice’s(Quinn is M.I.A. as well) “I am busy”/“Hello”.
The Embers spamming lava fonts all over the place are really overkill.
Can you please point out what is that graphical bug on the neck? I kept starring at the pictures for 30 min and still can’t figure what is that bug.. Draw on the actual picture(arrows), and is it clipping, texture?
Spectral Wall has Ethereal combo, projectile finisher, that applies confusion.
This dove doesn’t dive, it flies(wing flapping included) underwater. =D
There was once a guy in map chat complaining about bugs, and fellow called “Bugs” was around.
The mail is account wide, and your account name is displayed here on the forums. As some one else suggested, they should had hidden those digits.
About AoE, if I am not mistaken, the mobs in GW1 ran away from the spot you placed your AoE. And in order to have them take that AoE you had to immobilize them, or being in a closed space that didn’t allowed for them to escape. Why isn’t this in GW2 as well? Monsters here don’t seem to realize they are standing in a rain of meteors.
I present to you, Victor Harrowing. Master of illusion and fierce duelist.
This armour skin, looks very classy on a mesmer, despite being so common.
Aha, then it’s no wonder that monsters keep chasing me down, even if I “distract” them with my clones.
The only clone that actually deals some damage is the downed clone, as it inflicts confusion. =P
Thanks AkkiChan, I guess I’ll have to level up some more to “exploit” them.
(edited by Beyreva.8769)
Well I was quite surprised that my clones did 0 damage(using a GS).
I have tried all the weapons, all the clones do 0 damage, even the ones summoned with the utility skills.
So they have no other purpose except shatter and confusing other players?
Is this the way they actually work?
“Phantasms are more powerful than clones; they have more health and deal more damage.”
If that is so then this paragraph from the mesmer’s description on the web-site is wrong, since clones do 0 damage, and it should say:
“Phantasms are more powerful than clones; they have more health and, as opposed to the clones, they deal damage.”

You do have the ability to dismiss your pet as a ranger. It’s that blue “eject” one. But it only works while out of combat, when entering combat the pet becomes active again. As for MM, don’t summon your minions.
From Twitter:
“We are aware of the recent disconnect and login issue. Thank you for your continued patience while we look in to it.” ^AT
About 1 min ago.
There is a sound when you get hit(Norn male) that your character sounds as if he’s a Grawl or a donkey. The character has this nice grave voice, and all the other reactions to being hit are ok. Just this one that sounds pitched, Grawl-like.
This mission is quite the lottery. For me the first try it bugged at 1%, imagine the frustration when I saw that he went “godmode on”. I alt-tab’ed to the forums to see if this was intended or not and I found out that it was a bug.
Anyway, the second time I did the instance it worked just fine, him dying, all happy etc.
The run speed is divided into “Out of combat” and “Combat”. The second one is slower than the first, so even if you have the “Swiftness” buff your normal speed decreases to the combat mode. You still have the buff, you still move slightly faster than if you didn’t had it at all.
Too bad there isn’t any corridor full of doors to run trough, Scooby-Doo like. =))
Are you sure no one else in your guild spent that influence on something else?
That’s actually intended, as the Sylvari glow in the dark. When you created the character you had this “Glow” option to choose a colour and the brightness.
In order to see that, you have to change the lightning from daylight to dark. You must have missed that, as many others have, including myself.
There should be a notice somewhere that you can only see those changes while it’s dark.
As the title implies, I am intrigued if the speed at which the risen run is the intended one. They all seem related to Usain Bolt running the 100m sprint. You can’t run away from them as the catch you in a split second. They are zombies, yet they move with the grace of a gazelle.
Remember those old movies with car races that were fast-forwarded, to create the “illusion” of speed? These guys move the same way.
In my opinion, they all should be crippled, not just the brutes, all of them.
You have been warned in the tile once, here it goes again: BEWARE!! SPOILERS!!
Ahem.. Ok.. So I just started going trough this story arc and I couldn’t ignore that the whole “Oh No!! Undead!!” seems to be rather forced. I haven’t seen any of Zaithan’s influence this far north. Even in the Norn arc, the danger comes from Dredge who manage to attract Jormag’s minions.
But I am sent in the Snowden Drifts(Jormag’s territory) to find myself ambushed by risen. The Asura and Sylvari(they practically have Zaithan as a neighbour), look convincing. Even the Human arc, but not this one. As if:
“-Hey any idea on the Charr arc?”
“-Just throw some zombies in there, it’ll do just fine”.
Maybe it’s just me being fed up with zombies being almost everywhere(TV Shows, Movies, Games), as the antagonist of the moment. I do know that Zaithan is the main thing and all, but I believe that they could have done something different, as they have shown with the Norn.
Any thoughts?
Unless someone can confirm that there is a Order of Whispers side of that choice..
