So an announced feature that isn’t actually available… that’s one great way to release awesome updates that nobody has to ever see.

I’ve had the same issue for months now, it only affects certain characters and only at peak times. From what other people on this board have come up with it’s to do with a routing issue somewhere in eastern US. The problem stops a few of my characters logging in entirely if they are sat in a busy area, and they will often eventually lag out with error 7 codes even in quiet spots. The rest of my characters are fine, no lag, load within seconds and never get disconnect.

The only way I’ve found that gets around it 100% of the time is to use a US VPN so that it doesn’t route through this problem area. I’ve had this same issue in both GW1 and GW2 now, no other games, and I’ve had several different ISP’s in this time. I don’t think it’s directly an ANET issue but I would love to know why it only affects certain characters, and if different races/professions etc are designated different IP’s to connect to upon character creation.

Still broken, a response would be nice.

Still can’t log in to Lions Arch on certain characters at certain times, no change at all from three months ago. Not expecting a magic fix any time soon, we’re obviously not a priority.

Still completely unplayable on just one of my eight characters. I would love to know why this has suddenly happened.

EDIT: Turns out, I just can’t login on my character I want to be on. I tried creating a new character and playing on other characters and they can play the game fine. It’s just the one that I’ve been on the past couple of days that is affected by this loading glitch. Perhaps I need a new thread…

I made a thread about this specific issue, it only appears to be effecting a certain character on my account and only at peak times. If I swap servers to guest on a low population one the problem vanishes.

I currently cannot log in to Lions Arch on Gandara on my warrior, tried several times but I get stuck on the loading screen for 5+ minutes before I get fed up waiting. If I guest on to a lower pop server, it loads instantly as usual.

Now the weirdest bit is that if I try loading into Lions Arch on another character, it works fine, no lag, it loads within 5 seconds or so. It’s as if the issue is somehow tied into my character. The warrior is also having lag problems in the world events and WvW, which it never used to. I’ve tried exiting LA while guesting, loading back up on Gandara while outside LA and it is fine, try to port inside and back to a the never-ending loading screen…

I’ve got a good connection, fast computer and previously no issues with the game at all up to this week.

Anyone else seeing something similar? I’ve been able to reproduce this over and over, so it’s not a one-off. Will try testing with all of my characters to see if it is just the one that is having this problem.

Just to add another one to the list of people with lag issues since the latest update.

Never had lag issues other than the karka event, but now I can’t do a large scale event after 6pm gmt without getting ridiculous lag spikes and then an inevitable disconnect. Everything else seems to run smoothly, so far.

I’m not the only one in my guild, playing on Gandara, that this has suddenly started happening to, some sort of response would be nice.
