I was doing hotjoin to see if a slight variation of shatter works for me as I love the burst shatter gives but I also like lockdown gameplay but I guess my opponent who got burst down disagreed…
This is the build I was using at the time. Nothing fancy at all; http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fhAQNAsfRlknpMtNqxGNcrNipxg60ObOSGwElMkxB-TZBBwAAOEAbeAAlLDA5MA4c/BA
I hit him with Mirror Blade —> Power Lock--> The Prestige—> Illusionary Leap—> Swap —>Blurred Frenzy --> Shatter burst (Mindwrack, Cry of Frustration, Diversion).
I am unsure what points to even address…The fact that a supposed mesmer veteran, which I find irrelevant, believes the max DPS a mesmer can output is just 8k or the fact that he failed to realise he was hit from multiple sources. Halting Strike triggered, as did my air sigil. He definitely was a bit on the glassy side.

The training Vash is currently providing for me is really good and insightful so I encourage any mesmer who wants to learn his style of shatter to get in touch with him with any questions or if you too want some training.
That’s pretty interesting; had no idea the ileap clones behaved this way. I believe it is intended, and not a bug, according to the Wiki:
“Upon activation, a sword clone is created and only all existing clones created by this skill will dash ~800 range units towards the target, each applying 1s crippled to the target if they hit. "

First post in the forums here. I used to main a ranger but since switched over to the Mesmer class despite originally disliking the sounds the class made for absurd reasons. Anyway, apologies if this has been asked before but I noticed all evening that my clones were casting fear during PVE and I’m trying to figure out if the trait ‘Debilitating Dissipation’ is responsible.
Originally, I noticed this back a month or so with my staff clones. I initially thought it was a glitch as it only happened twice, but I was surprised that I was able to replicate the effect on a mob of moa in Queensdale.
I run shatter and condition Mesmer, both of which have Debilitating Dissipation yet found fear being cast more frequently on shatter spec when I did not shatter my clones, and allowed them to be killed by the mob. With the trait switched out my clones no longer cast fear. I managed to fraps my clones casting fear so I’ll probably provide the video if need be. If Debilitating Dissipation is responsible for this, I wonder why I never see it happen in WvW. It only seems to happen in PVE.
Anyone else experience this? I can’t really tell if it’s a fluke or intentional.
