That was changed then, because originally it was the top 3 worlds from each league get gold, silver and bronze respectively.

Only 1st place got finishers. (Gold for gold league, Silver for silver league, and you need to guess what bronze league got.)

It was supposed to be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from each league get the finisher accordingly.

Hey, everyone. We’ve been reading all your feedback about the Flamekissed Armor Skin that was released into the Gem Store yesterday.

Although the Flamekissed Armor uses the same mesh as the Tier 3 Human Cultural Armor, it was not our intention to create an armor skin that so closely matched the existing Tier 3 Human Cultural armor set. The intention was to use the mesh as a basis for creating an armor set that stands apart and is distinct in appearance. However, after reading your feedback, we agree that the Flamekissed armor is not visually distinct enough from Human Cultural Tier 3 armor.

We will do a few things to address this issue.

  • We will temporarily remove Flamekissed Armor Skin from the Gem Store.
  • Players who have purchased Flamekissed Armor Skin will keep the skin.
  • We will make new art for the Flamekissed Armor Skin that achieves our goal of making a visually distinct and attractive armor set and does not closely resemble the Human Tier 3 Cultural armor.
  • Once this new artwork is completed, we will then update the Flamekissed Armor Skin so that all existing sets that players have purchased get the new art. We will also offer the Flamekissed Armor Skin for sale again at that time.
  • When we update the Flamekissed Armor Skins with the new artwork, any player that has already purchased the set and who does not like the new, updated look, can get a full refund by contacting Customer Support.

Note that there is no ETA on when this change will happen. We need to work with the Character Art Team to determine when we can have a new armor skin ready, and this could take some time.

Thank you everyone for providing your feedback. We appreciate that you took the time to let us know how you feel about the new armor set.

I’d rather be given a refund for the skin because the only reason I bought it was because of how it looked.

List of guilds and reasons:
AGG: Made GvG mainstream
Choo: on SoR from start, classy and tough
NS: aggressive, engaging, and often humble
AoI/OnS: The backbone of SoS’s and BG’s reigns at the top
HzH: JQ mainstay since the beginning. Very mature
Ark: they define Maguuma with their small but hard hitting group (unfortunately in PvF as well)
Red Guard: Defined the meta
WM: Was the first guild to show what a dedicated non-prime presence could do for an entire server

Plenty others on this list that I would include (leaving out some SoS folks because it’s unfair to list that much awesome in one list…and it would seem like propaganda too LOL)

I wouldn’t say Agg made GvGs mainstream, but they did bring playing for fights rather than ppt to a bigger spotlight than it used to be.

Issue with leg specialist

What, you came here to QQ about a 1 day reversal? If you had any clue or played a warrior consistently then you would have known that Leg Specialist had an ICD before the patch, when the patch was released and there were no ICD, even I thought that was way OP. Sword auto attack can chain immobilze a whole group of people. Even if it’s perma immobilise for one person that is completely overpowered.

I still use leg specialist on my solo build, it’s still a powerful trait. Get over yourself.

I didn’t come here to QQ as you put it. I came here to look for a civil discussion on a trait, it seems you are incapable of that. What I came here to argue is that the cooldown should be applied on a per player basis, that is, aoe cripples such as hammer 3, sword auto, and Gs 4 will apply the 1s immobilize to all targets hit by the cripple, not just the first. This was the way the trait worked before (when sword 3 was the leap and sword 2 was the cripple, but I guess you haven’t played warrior that long). What I am proposing is that each target affected by it can’t be affected by it again for the duration of the ICD, but another target can be.

With proper scouting you can and unless your zerg is occupied elsewhere (the biggest issue is having all of your map on o e spot, which isn’t good strategy), yes you can get there before the golems do. As for the waypoint, keeps and towers ha e a 30s delay before showing white swords, aka contested, I assumed waypoints would be the same, seems that I was wrong in that but still doesn’t take away from the fact that good scouting (not just sitting on top of walls) will mitigate the effect of golems.

I don’t think you understand how the waypoint mechanic even works.

I don’t think you even understand what I was responding to. You have 30 seconds after a gate is tagged for the keep to show up as contested, therefore with proper scouting you can minimize the effect of golem rushes. Please read the post I was replying to before making comments like that one.

I said it in the last thread that was deleted, but I’ll repeat it for the sake of the nice people in this thread – the game doesn’t hold me here, you guys do <3

the problem with wvw is that it is either a pve game that has pvp – but no story line
or
a pvp game that has pve grind and lacks balanced matches – this is not competitive

The score – is misleading but unfortunately many people are taking it too serious – and the pvp’r in me can appreciate their point because it’s a good setting for competition.

to fix this – you have to either

1 – delete the score – so the story can flourish – Players and guilds would then take it upon themselves to keep their own ladders / tournaments and scores that they can agree is fair and balanced. wvw has no right to judge a score in a pve environment.

OR

2 – add the sPvp locker and balance the matches so it can be a full competitive game mode.

The Problem is it is neither a complete pve environment that includes pvp with a storyline …..and it is not a legit competitive arena – sure you can compete but due to lack of balance and grind for stats, those scores are not correct – and it’s creating chaos.

I know for a fact this is right, because I’ve seen it work both ways before. wvw is incomplete and the scoring is misleading.

The GvG fights the players formed was not based on score – it was based on mutual agreement to rules – which had much more value than the current wvw scoring system.

Amen to that last paragraph.

After the “nerf” to leg specialist the trait became useless, and while I agree that there was a big issue with sword warriors perma immobilizing people it was an issue of one target getting immobilized. Now you can’t aoe immobilize with the sword auto or hammer 3 because it just pops on the first person and goes on the internal cool down. Instead have it not be able to affect the same target for the same internal cool down while still giving the aoe immobilize that made leg specialist viable before (before the change to the sword skills).

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this, it would diversify trait lines a bit having people choose between the shout cd or potential aoe immobilize.

IIRC the last BG/SoR/JQ matchup before Season 1 began, JQ came first with a 15k PPT lead from SoR who was second. But of course you guys weren’t even trying that hard right?

Not at all. I’m not sure if we’ll beat you or not. I think it will be close. Different mechanics now though. stomps count (a lot).

Stomps actually count less now than they did during that matchup if you had more than one stack bloodlust buff. Before it counted one point per buff stack, now its one regardless of having one or all three.

stomps still represent a very significant amount of points…. If you want to discount them and are on SoR or BG then please do so…

I agree, I think this is the main reason JQ was able to stay competitive. We focused on having at least 1 BL buff up constantly, and stomping our kills. And we were killing a lot, especially when defending our keeps.

I’m on JQ, and I’m not saying they don’t represent a good amount of points, but if you look at the post I quoted you’ll see this “Different mechanics now though. stomps count (a lot).” which implies that stomps count more than they did during that week, which is wrong.

I see some really bad weeks coming for BG. Wonder how long the enjoy being the receiving end. SoR forum politic worked great, they made BG think working together with them against JQ was a great idea because BG still believes they can play for #1 and maybe some really believed SoR doesn’t care for being #1 and they just hate that schedule thing.

I also hope that in that final matchup every server has enough points that winning 1st place during the week earns them the league, that would make for an interesting matchup to say the least.

Guys, lets keep it civil on the 2v1 subject, it happens all the time and its the best way to get rid of waypoints. Whether or not its on BGs best interest is their own problem and if they think they have a chance let them take it, no risk no reward.

Why would you want to drop ascended gear from wvw considering you can get most of it from wvw? Amulets can only be gotten from wvw.

You couldn’t be more wrong there man. Ascended amulets are available from the regular laurel vendor for 30 laurels and some gold, and was in place for months before the wvw one came along. The only real good way to get accessories is by completing g missions because its otherwise 40 laurels and 50 ectos. Ascended ring dropping in wvw rank chests was implemented not so long ago while they were available from fractals for over 8 months, since the Lost Shores patch.

They should have dropped ascended all together, not just in wvw because it goes against their “mission” or whatever, but weapons and trinkets are already in game so the only thing they can do short of removing them is to make them more accessible from other areas of the game, and drop the laurel and time gated bull, because it doesn’t help anyone.

Which Laurels can be gotten by doing your dailies. You can complete these in WvW lol… Monthly too…

So? The issue with laurels isn’t how you get them, its that you get only 1 per day if you complete the daily, plus 10 per month if you complete the monthly. Clearly you can’t read “drop the laurels and time gated bull” laurels plus some of the mats required for ascended weapons are time gated. L2read.

Not to mention the fact that they (ANet) stated there would be no vertical gear treadmill, only horizontal; meaning that no matter what statwise you will always have the highest stat gear (exotics), but would have to work for better looking skins. This has yet to happen because there is really no work done to get a good skin, other than a legendary and for that you need heavy RNG not just working towards a goal. I hope anet gives up on ascended (armor especially since it has yet to be implemented) and continue to work with what they stated before release which was a big part of why I bought the game (as I’m sure it was for many others).

Kind of sucks that all the grinders who like vertical progression and power creep came to this game. There are several other games out there that would meet their needs, but sadly they came here and the developers are catering to them.

I mean, who enjoys brainless champ trains and dull, endless farming? This game is becoming a glorified skinner box.

Sadly I did. I’m not doing ascended crafting because it was enough of a task just to craft the hammer for my warrior, getting al the other crafting professions up to 500 is a daunting task and one that I won’t do, and gathering all the mats for crafting the weapons for all of my 5 alts will take so long I’d rather stick with my exotic and kick kitten with it.

It does kick afkers, but as with anything, there is a loophole/workaround. You can set macros to click skills every couple of minutes or whatever and then the system doesn’t know whether you are afk or not.

The 2 main reasons blobs happen in this game are these:

1. The game mechanics are the LEAST skillfull in any game ever made.
- AoE (wah wah wah about the server size and the world would end if they increased the cap) this cap is there PURELY to crutch the weak. If groups of 5-10 ran over clumped up groups of 30 those 30 would then uninstall after a week of the same thing and quit as customers to Anet. The cap allows 15 guys to hit all 5 in a 5man, and the 5man to hit 5 of the 15. THERE IS NO REASON that should EVER exist in a game. Blatant crutch for not as truthfully skilled players. And gw2 doesnt really take skill…its super smooth and very easy.
- The downed state (“but it helps small groups sometimes too”) we have played since launch….it doesnt help EVER more than it punishes. The downed state again is probably larger overall as a crutch than the aoe cap. This allows for people who have no idea how to player vs player combat to “have a chance” to rejoin the fight even though a coordinated team just smoked them. Find a coyote, find a mosquito…and youre right back in it baby! With no downed state, again, players quit because it presents MUCH more challenge per fight. We dont want that here, we want log in, have fun, everyones equal, kinda like chucky cheeses….ZERO comptition.

2. The second main reason blobs happen is because Anet wanted to capture the non-competitive “everyone is equal / never really played an mmo before” market, and succeeded. In ANY other open world pvp there has been 1000x more competition per team/ per server/ per realm / PER PLAYER. People fear dying and ridicule so much in this game that running in 40 pressing 3 keys a fight, (or clicking ), makes more sense than ever challenging your own ability with a couple friends because the 40 prevent you from really dying. That is unless you come across a 50-60 man, then you die and say, oh man, good fights! They had more!

What you first bring up is true to a point, AoE cap does cripple the small groups, but the reason its capped is because of the amount of skill lag that was caused before the cap was implemented. Once they rework skills as they say they are, then maybe they will look into removing the aoe cap. Also, even without the cap there its not going to happen often that a 5-10 man group wipes a 30 man, simply because of the numbers advantage, and not only in bodies, but in composition, with a 30 man you can have a balance of good damage, good heals, good cc, good condi removal, all that. With a 10 man your options are much more limited.

I have to say I agree with some of the points here, mainly the size of the maps. Waypoints are also a big issue because you can hold on to a keep forever with enough coordination. imo you should only have your spawn waypoint and if you died defending the keep well then, try harder not to die. Having the same map but basically stretching them so that there is a good distance between objectives is the best way to work this and I hope anet are thinking about that because it will also make field fights much more interesting.

I’d just like to make a note of one thing that I think people aren’t considering when they transfer to stacked worlds. You will not, repeat will not, be able to receive the reward based on overall world place in the league, unless you achieve the meta achievement for the season. If you aren’t able to get into WvW much, you won’t get the rewards. So it is absolutely taking a risk to transfer to a world that has a large WvW population.

That doesn’t address the skill lag issue in the slightest.

Why stop at just taking JP away from wvw. Might as well take away all gathering nodes so that no one can waste time gathering 20 items, more time can be focused on wvw instead of gathering.Take away all the wildlife too so that daily variety is also out. Since the argument is that potential achievement points is the cause of deviating the players from actual wvw. Remove all wvw achievements would be the best way including Map completion. There you go,perfect map for wvw elites. Enjoy your new map and permanent Outnumberred buff. Good luck maintaining a healthy player pool.

Oh yeah, lets blow this whole thing out of proportion, that’ll surely help.

Stop blaming the PvE'rs

Crystal desert is mainly a PVE server. Attached is the score taken a few minutes prior this post. Achievement hunters seem to be helping alot with the score.

Once the achievement hunting has tone down after a few weeks since most would have cleared it by then,we’ll take a look at the score for CD again, if its significantly poorer than this than we can safely say its not the achievement hunters fault that the server is losing.

All that means is your server has a lot larger PvE population than the other two servers. Numbers and coverage is a very large factor in W3. 50 players randomly attacking anything on the map actually wins out against 20 players using sound strategy. It’s just the way it is.

These new achievements may help out PvE servers win a match, but they have the opposite effect on higher tier servers. Now the obvious question is: why should ANet cater to higher tier servers at all? Well, possibly because they have a lot more invested into it. By the same token, it would be wrong for W3ers to try and tell the PvE crowd how to best run fractals or dungeons.

We understand ANet is trying to get more players involved in W3, but adding achievements as an enticement is the wrong way to do it.

Understand your concerns,however no one solution can truly make everyone happy.
And i don’t think Anet can or should implement different mechanics to different tiers, thus a one size fits all solution should cater to the majority. They have the data to work with.Better to have crowded maps than empty ghost towns i guess.

They are catering to the PvE majority though, and not the W3 majority. It’s a very important difference.

I’d like to see how many of the pve players stay in WvW after finishing their achievement meta. Especially on the lower tier servers, where people are content because they are getting fights with large numbers, but when people start leaving because they’ve completed the achievements its going to start a domino effect because consequentially the fights won’t be as fulfilling anymore so people will stop enjoying it and leave, and there starts the spiral. They could have breathed new life to w3 by different means, especially through guilds, like adding influence incentives and such. Leagues was a great idea because it balances the random matchups they were having (SoR fighting SoS and SBI last week), and it might have brought new people into wvw on its own, but adding achievements on top of that is what killed it.

Take the hour it takes to do the jump puzzles. Call it a guild event. Try something new.

Or have an Eternal Battleground night. We try to do that at least once a week just to shake things up (I’m not much on Eternal Battleground myself, only have 4 Stonemist caps since launch).

I can’t believe that for 49 days straight you guys refuse to deviate from your daily routine.

It’s not that we refuse to deviate, it’s that sometimes we can’t afford too. Right now, the competition on our match-up is so intense that even a small group shirking their duties for the night has a substantive negative impact. Last week we had it easier, and could afford to take some time off. But right now, at the start of this league, almost every second counts. It’s crazy, but we love it.

Well, don’t need the achievements right away, still nearly 7 weeks to go =)

I don’t think you get it. Even if we weren’t busy, most of us wouldn’t be doing the JP’s for the achievement points. Most simply don’t care about them. If we were to do the JP’s it would be for a relaxing break from the routine, not to check off a box.

So it during your relaxing break.

I mean, my guild would never relax in a jump puzzle or PvE. That’s why I had to fight them to get through the jump puzzle but we got a mesmer that could do it and it was easy and quick and not even close to the biggest problem WvW has.

Why are you still defending having the achievement in there? Its not the biggest problem wvw has but I can assure you that on the first couple of days at least 50% of the people who queued for wvw got in to do the JP because they are easy achievements.

The achievements shouldn’t be there, they shouldn’t be a part of the season achievements. Its easy yes, I could probably do it in less than an hour, but that is beside the point.

Not:

PvE Super Theme Park Do Nothing Extraordinaire Talk To NPC Achievements.

These achievements are NOT hard to do, especially not in 7 weeks.

Let me say this again.

THEY ARE WORLD VS WORLD ACHIEVEMENTS. NOT PVE ONLY PLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS. If you don’t like WvW, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THESE ACHIEVEMENTS, THEY WERE NOT DESIGNED FOR YOU.

I have 8 finished after a few days.

Stop complaining just because you don’t play WvW.

Hey kitten, let me explain something to you. I do wvw daily, for almost 4 hours so I think I count as a wvw player and a hardcore one at that. But completing the meta achievement, while not hard to do, makes you go out of your way/usual wvw activities in order to do it. It takes 15 out of 19, so I’m going to show you how much out of the way these make people go. I don’t do the JPs, that’s -4, already at 15, I run as a 30 man with my guild and we rarely if ever cap the ruins because it takes time and we should let the roamers cap them, at 14 now. I as many others don’t go into EB or do so very rarely, so the SM flips and the mercs are basically out, at 12 now. So, I’m not getting the meta achievement reward despite my active participation in WvW because it will require me to go out of my way to do so, which I will say again is not what wvw is about. Good day moron.

Take the hour it takes to do the jump puzzles. Call it a guild event. Try something new.

Or have an Eternal Battleground night. We try to do that at least once a week just to shake things up (I’m not much on Eternal Battleground myself, only have 4 Stonemist caps since launch).

I can’t believe that for 49 days straight you guys refuse to deviate from your daily routine.

But how does doing the JP help wvw? This isn’t supposed to be a pve meta achievement, but a WvW one, so having 4 of the achievements be JPs is beyond moronic and gives no leeway on the others to complete. I refuse to do the JP because its not wvw and shouldn’t be taken as an achievement for the wvw season. Yeah, EB night may sound fun if queues weren’t bugged and 5 hours long, try getting 30 people through that to try to cap SM 5 times when you yourself said you have less than 5 since launch.

I think they should add more to some of the achievements (450 kills really?, I’ve gotten 600 in one night), but have a lower requirement for the meta. Also, remove the JPs from the achievements because they do nothing to promote wvw.

Any definition of what WvW is has to account for the fact that the puzzles are there.

Your issues with queues has nothing to do with the viability of achievements. (on which point I would say: someone once suggested to you that you transfer servers for better WvW. Possibly you may consider that again if it is so intolerable.)

No definition of WvW has to account for the JPs being there because doing the JP does nothing to advance your server in the war. Ok, you get two blueprints, but you get those as drops from the vets at camps and stuff which actually helps the war effort, not to mention that you can get them for extremely cheap in the TP. So you’re wasting time doing the JP while your server needs help capping x, defensing x, taking x camp, having some roamers flip the ruins.

Every server has people doin the jump puzzles. If you’re telling me that for 7 weeks you’re always taking responsibility for everything on your map for every hour that you’re on I don’t believe you.

My guild’s one of the most serious on the server but now and then we give the order to ignore PPT and kill people somewhere to avoid burning out. And unlike your server, there probably isn’t anyone on hand to replace us or our commander if he/she isn’t on the field.

Maybe have like 5 people do it at a time? This totally has to be solvable for you =)

The other post I made stated at the end that I don’t mind that people do the jumping puzzles, I just don’t think that having them as achievements for the wvw season is beneficial for wvw or the season. If you want to do the JP, whatever, go ahead but it shouldn’t have been a part of the season achievements and that is mostly what I’m trying to say here.

I tried to read your post to find out how the queue bug works…. but all I saw was wall of text and no information that actually tells us how it works.

All I’m seeing is conspiracies.
I’ll be angry about it once I get solid proof on it.

The devs already posted that the queues are bugged, and OP referenced it in his (rather long) post. They haven’t given any additional info as to how they are bugged or how they work currently, but its been confirmed.

It’s not that we refuse to deviate, it’s that sometimes we can’t afford too. Right now, the competition on our match-up is so intense that even a small group shirking their duties for the night has a substantive negative impact. Last week we had it easier, and could afford to take some time off. But right now, at the start of this league, almost every second counts. It’s crazy, but we love it.

Well, don’t need the achievements right away, still nearly 7 weeks to go =)

The issue is that a myriad of PvE players are clogging the BLs just to do the JPs in this matchup, which for every tier is one of the more important because its between the top 3 servers. I don’t know, I have no issue with people doing the JP, but having it as part of the meta achievement for season rewards does not seem in the best interest of leagues or WvW.

These achievements are NOT hard to do, especially not in 7 weeks.

jp’s take less than a hour all together. less if you use one of the many mesmers in there atm. If that is too much than don’t do it. I could understand if you don’t play eb that much so you don’t get the SM and the mercs archievement perhaps the eb jp too. And i can understand if you don’t want to do the ruins too. But there are 15 other you can get easy.

That is not the point, I could care less about the achievements. But there simply are some achievements (the JPs) that don’t promote wvw play. Remove those and lower the meta accordingly. Hell, make the kills higher, and add daily completions (complete x amount of the wvw dailies.

“Spend 500 supply on repairs or siege weapons” This would have actually been more useful making players actually bother to have as often supply on them as possible, for siege weapons. You would have encouraged learning…not like now just blind pickup repair and when attacking 0 supply. This one is as dumb as demolition if not more.

What you’re suggesting is even worse because it encourages people to randomly drop siege anywhere to build it.

I kid haha :P But in al seriousness you have to consider that some guilds/groups don’t even take keeps/camps/ruins/escort dolyaks/take sentries. What many here are arguing is that the achievements are a poor indication of your participation in WvW.

The achievements arent catering to guilds. They are made so people do all kind of stuff WvW has to offer.

But I’m required to do all of what WvW has to offer in order to get the reward, which is a poor indicator of my participation in WvW. I’m not a solo roamer, I’m not about escorting yaks, I will get on my thief if I’m bored during off hours to maybe get some ganks in/tag some yaks, but normally I run with my 30 man guild and we do work. Should I not be rewarded because I didn’t do the achievements despite me actively participating in WvW?

The floor for completing the Meta achievement is too high as of right now because it requires players to complete most of the activities even those they have to go out of their way to complete (4 JPs + SMC + mercs) in order to get rewards. This is not Living Story, I’m not going to run around chasing APs because that is not what WvW is about and I’m sorry you feel differently.

And still nothing from anet on this. Even if you don’t have a solution at the moment, knowing that you are working on it, looking into it, aware of it make the players feel better because they feel they are being heard/understood.

Funnily enough though, I don’t think they are aware of the issue since last night there was someone with an anet tag in LA saying he had a blast in wvw when he got in.

Exactly what you said Das, I am most likely not going to get the achievement even though I wvw everyday and have done so since I started playing because I will not go out of my way to complete the achievements when I can be doing more important stuff.

The achievements are fine except the mercenary one. I spend only about half my playtime in WvW (rest PVE and PVP) and got all of them at least 50% finished (except mercenary). The meta achievement was not supposed to be done in a week.
Doing 5 castles takes one evening at most (I see SM getting flipped several times per hour), all jumping puzzles take 30min at most each, faster if you have a mesmer to port you.

The achievements individually are fine, when you need 15 of them total to get the season reward is when it begins to get stupid, mainly because unless you are actively trying to do the achievements you won’t get them by simply doing wvw like you normally would. Only a small fraction of the wvw community actually does the jps, the commanders usually leave the ruin capping to small man groups while they worry with larger structures and the enemy zergs. EB is a nightmare and many of the players avoid it because of the queue or because the prefer the borderlands. Large groups most of the time skip sentries because you are wasting precious time and it also alerts the enemy that a group has taken the sentry. Not everyone gets tags on the gate because either they aren’t on rams or (if its supposed to work this way but isn’t currently) the commander doesn’t want to cause orange swords on the gate to have as much damage as possible before they get scouted. The kills are somewhat low because honestly with 1 hour following a commander you can get 50+ kills and I’m lowballing because it may actually be close to 150. If they lowered the amount of achievements that were needed to complete the meta but added more tiers to each achievement it would be far more balanced.

I just hope someone at ANet is reading this and taking it under serious consideration.

I can live with 1 day lag or a hour a day, but now its just all week, every hour in every borderlands. Even 30v30 causes the whole map to lag.
Can’t roam, can’t raid, pve is boring. Game is kittened.

Yeah, this has just been a huge blunder. I try to constrain hyperbole about this stuff because it’s just a game, and devs are people who put in a lot of work on making it fun. But whoever was involved in making the decision to entice even more users to play WvW when servers were crushed on reset nights anyway needs to have their hand slapped or worse.

WvW is unplayable for me. Not literally unplayable, but it is not fun to play. The lag is out of control. I was trying to defend a yak, for example, and couldn’t fire off any skills against just a single player. This was near garrison. The zergs were at south camp/lake/briar.

Either call off the season, fix this immediately (i.e. don’t wait for the next scheduled release) by whatever means necessary, or people like me who play a few times a week and buy gems twice a month won’t be logging back in because there’s nothing fun to do.

Some people are already trying to find a game to play while the issues get fixed, and if they don’t get fixed they’re already started on a new game.

Summary for the lazy: the current issues with wvw are nothing new, but they are highlighted by the increase in population across all servers. They should postpone leagues until these issues have been dealt with so players (both old and new) can have a much better experience. At the moment, more players for wvw is a bad thing because of the issues at hand.

I quite frequently play on fully queued maps, the skill lag as we all call it has been a known issue and prior to friday was my biggest complaint. Since friday patch the behavior is different. They have introduced a bug with position vectors imo.

Same, I play on a T1 server and have for some time now. The issues are similar because they come from the underlying server infrastructure. Rubberbanding was always an issue, but never to this extent. I don’t know whether the issue is a bug with position vectors, but all I know is that it started happening all the time after leagues started.

The nightmare is over

The bags with Tomes of knowledge were so much more rewarding than the chests with blues. All in all for people that don’t wvw this will prolly take a while. If you’re in there 6+ hours a day than you’re probably already done.

You’re assuming people go into wvw actively looking to complete the achievements, which is totally off base. I’m a hardcore wvw player and I can assure you that every single one of these achievements except the keeps and towers is ridiculous. The kills are wayy too low for starters, I’m able to get 450 a night on a good matchup. Jumping puzzles should not be tied at all to this, and unless you sit in one spot tagging yaks its very hard to complete it. The fact of the matter is that they made WvW an achievement hunt like any other LS so far and that is wrong, they’re not promoting wvw game play, they’re just promoting achievement hunting.

@OP, good thread and I hope ANet takes it into account because this is actually killing wvw gamplay by having people focus more on completing the achievements rather than playing the matchup.

I have to agree with you there. I like that they are adding more achievements to WvW, but the implementation is lackluster because the people that actually like to do WvW and do WvW cannot get in (at least in higher pop servers, that have a large number of PvErs). I don’t know how they would go about giving the season rewards without the achievements, but this way is just killing the game type because people who are just joining in now are not going to see it for what it really is; and the harcore WvW players are just going to start quitting the game because they can’t get into their favorite aspect of the game because of a poorly made decision

Now I’m sure this has been talked about before, but with the inclusion of ascended weapons and the eventual inclusion of acended armor, are there plans to make these ascended items (more specifically the trinkets) forged to others in the MF? My question concerns mostly trinkets since they are relatively easy to obtain compared to the other pieces where it takes a while to craft them. I already have like 10 Ascended Rings that I’m not going to do anything with because of the stats they contain, but can’t sell them or do anything with them (unless I want to vendor them for 5s). Sorry if this has been posted before, but the search bar yielded nothing.
