This would have been nice oh say… a year ago.
Oh well, others at least get a use out of it.
I take it if you’ve transmuted over an item multiple times you can only get the most recent one back and no more? Or can you keep using stones to keep going back?
It’d be nice to have real match ups again. Getting tired of fair weathers coming out in a zerg and giving my server a bad name of running from field fights. KH thrives on field fights and hates zerging, but it’s hard to find fights when zergs steal the life from our opponents and they stop showing up.
TC is the victim of everything that is going wrong with WvW and how server population is managed.
TC has the coverage and population greater than what was needed to be a T1 server before the end of free transfers. Now, with how they not only allow but encourage super-stacking; you guys couldn’t dream about competing with T1; despite the fact that you can beat DB and dominate the rest of NA with one-hand tied behind your back.
You guys really are a T1.5 server. Just hope you keep getting low rolls like you have been because even a slightly positive modifier will get you signed up for weekly beatings by T1 servers.
You’re right in calling TC a T1.5 server. Honestly it feels like the server is in a lose lose situation as far as match ups go: we don’t have the coverage all around to compete with T1 and other servers don’t have the coverage to compete with us.
If this system had been in place from the start of the game, things would have worked out differently, but it was a huge mistake to even think that implementing this system now would have any other effect than to drive people away from WvW. Sadly the community dug itself into this mess by making the T1 servers so stacked, but Anet allowed it to happen and needs to clean up the mess if they want people to stay interested in this game much longer.
It’s not fun to get stomped on week after week and it’s not fun to do the stomping week after week when all you want is good fights.
You only need the manual once. The retraiting is 3.5s each time after that.
They should just remove the tassels on most of them (at least one handed weapons). Terrible clipping when sheathed with them swinging all willy nilly into my character.
Don’t you dare cut my tassels off! That’s my favorite part of the weapons.
Jade tickets should remain as rare as they are to get, but should be available for trade. I really wanted multiple tickets for different weapons and was lucky enough to get them, but not everyone is or will be. It’d be nice if, now that I got my weapons, that I could sell my extra tickets to people who want them.
I’ve spent about 20-25 gold over the course of this event and have gotten 5 tickets. I never buy more than 500 coffers at a time and I usually wait until I’ve made up the cost before buying more. I made about 60g in the first two days of the event and have hovered around 80g through out the whole thing, buying a stack here and there and making up the cost. I’ve opened 0 rich coffers and consider them a huge waste of money; they are there to sucker people into buying them but are not worth it.
In other words, it’s all about luck and there’s no real rhyme or reason behind it.
I rolled a human because they are my favorite race. I may be in the minority but I LOVED that GW 1 was all humans and I could care less about the other races (I did try them all just to see the entry to their stories but they didn’t interest me). The designers might be disappointed in players not playing their other races but I personally am disappointed in them for how they’ve handled the human story in this game.
8/10 – He looks like he’s got a mix of roughness and refinement in his face which looks good.
Honestly I would love this event as a new player. You can earn gold from selling coffers quite fast for a new player, even with the decreased price that coffers are going for now; certainly faster than I ever made gold back at launch.
First of all, thank you to the developers for the awesome jade dragon weapon skins. As a fan of Cantha and Guild Wars in general these new weapons have made me really excited.
I hope that these jade weapons are only the beginning of bringing more of Cantha’s style and influence into the game, even if we may never get to venture there. I spent many hundreds of hours in the original Guild Wars playing all of the campaigns and the expansion and though I enjoyed all of the environments Cantha has always held a special place in my heart; judging by this thread I am not alone in that.
I’ve opened probably 1500 coffers between the ones I’ve farmed myself and bought and I’ve been fortunate enough to get 3 tickets. I wish good luck to those still trying to get their tickets.
Tbh and we all know this, they wont fix anything, its all about getting you to spend your money in the tp on gems fact. Iam just like all the rest of you waiting for the next set of mmo’s to come out untill then ill have to put up with there incompetence, O and ofc dont forget not to put real money in2 there tp ;D if you want to make them understand stop paying them.
What achievement requires you to spend money on gems?
While I like the jade weapon skins and do enjoy games of Dragon Ball when teams don’t just zerg, I find myself over all disappointed with Dragon Bash thus far. I made a good bit of gold the first day from farming, but the actual activities of the festival leave me missing the Dragon Festival from the original Guild Wars.
Nice seeing AWE and KH out there. Thanks for the bags.
Stay out of Titan KH!
Stay out of Titan AWE!Keep your ugly kittening gold-bricking kitten out of my beach community!

Did you see our lowbie raid?
Hey guys! Now that we’ve all had some time to let the content sink in, how about we get some screenshots posted? If you’ve got a sec, snap a picture of yourself doing whatever you’ve been doing the most since the Dragon Bash update went live. Show off your Dragon’s Jade weapon skins, helm, wings, dragonball prowess, whatever! If you haven’t gotten what you’re after yet, you can alsways take a picture of yourself /cry’ing =D
I myself have been spending an unreasonable amount of time farming hologram projectors in Timberline Falls.
You and I have been doing pretty much the same thing then. I love Timberline Falls, it’s probably my favorite scenic area in the game and I’ve enjoyed running around there while guesting farming holograms.

I’ve got one ticket, a handful of minis, and 2 wings.
TC WE CANT GET RID OF YOU
Trying to replace FA?
Keep the rarity of the skins, but stop making everything account bound. I don’t see what’s so difficult about that or who it hurts; people who don’t want the skins can sell and make gold to buy skins they do want and people who do want the skins but are not that lucky can still buy them.
I really hate the invulnerability aspect of the change because I can’t damage them at all until they are all spread out now. I could care less about them having more hp or being harder, I just want to hit them all with 100blades (when I’m farming solo).
GW 2 delivers on it’s promise of reduced grinding because it’s VERY EASY to level up, get max stat gear, and be on an even playing field (gear wise) with other players. That’s the kind of grinding people didn’t want to do and they delivered that.
But optional skins will always require work to get and should, else there would be no reason to feel accomplished when you get them.
Truly good players don’t advertise…. they ‘show’ it by simply playing. Jumping in and helping people out that are losing a fight, offering their assistance to someone asking for help with no expectation of any type of repayment. They are humble, and most will tell you (if asked) that they aren’t good players.
People that shout that they are ‘good players’, ‘have skillz’, or advertise ‘pro x’ usually tend to be jackkittens that (in fact) aren’t good players.
This. It’s the same way in other games and often the community comes to know who the really good players are without them having to declare it themselves. You spend enough time on a server and start to develop a reputation through actions, not words.
Speaking personally, I’ve always preferred to show people what I can do rather than brag and eat my own words when someone else better comes along (as Qui-Gon Jinn would say, “There’s always a bigger fish”).
Many many people have gotten the fireworks achievement, there are overflows with it running.
It would be nice if there was “something” to get for winning, like a title or something. I wouldn’t mind more coffers either. Took me 22 games to get the 20 wins and I probably won’t go back in there for a while because there is money to be made and skins to obtain!
I had a lot of fun, but maybe I was just lucky. I played 22 games and got my 20 wins achievement, including some very close games and one great come from behind match.
I was once a hardcore raider in WoW; in fact it’s still in my nature to min/max in that game thanks to all the years I spent raiding even though I haven’t touched a non LFR raid since Mists released. Raiding in that game brought me some of the best memories I’ve ever had in a game thanks to the interactions I had with friends and enjoyment of completing some of the hardest fights the game had to offer.
When you’re in a raiding guild and you actually enjoy raiding it doesn’t feel like much of a grind to get gear, it just sort of happens over the weeks as you progress. The problem comes when you don’t really enjoy raiding but you still want that better gear that you see other people running around with so you join a raiding guild and you end up doing something you don’t really enjoy.
What I’ve witnessed from gaming all these years is that people just want to feel like they are on an even footing with everyone else and will chase the best stat gear because it’s better than what they have. If it requires doing something they don’t like to get then the complaints start piling up and people either continue to do it while not having fun or quit. Either results in players feeling dissatisfied and that’s something no developer wants to happen.
I’ve always liked the GW approach to gearing a max level character out; make it easy to get and let the look of the armor/weapon be the reward for harder content, and if raids were added to GW 2 with special skins as the only reward for doing them I wouldn’t have a problem with that at all, but how many people would enjoy doing them is another thing. I would suggest rewarding guild commendations or laurels for completing them as well, but one has to be careful because you just open the door for more complaints about it being unfair to small guilds/groups who aren’t able to get these bonuses.
In the end you can’t design for everyone.
The only thing raid related I am against is a raid mechanic that revolves around the best gear/rewards coming only from raids. I’ve been a raider for a long time, and I’ve always been appalled by my fellow raiders believing that they, and they alone, deserve all the best rewards because of the “hard work” we put into it (maybe I was the only one enjoying the raids, cause I never looked at it as “hard work”…)
I just want to add my opinion on this statement. “Hard work” is indeed required to take down the hardest bosses in the raid. Officers put in a lot of extra time out of raids coming up with strategies to use and everyone in the guild puts in time to gather consumables for the week. Executing a strategy correctly takes concentration from everyone and when people start to mess up it’s very taxing on the officers and leaders of the guild to keep people from getting discouraged.
While it is indeed a game, it does take hard work to run a raid and I don’t see a problem with rewarding all that effort, but I agree with you that the reward doesn’t need to be the “best gear”; unique skins and faster currencies would be fine to me.

I’d also suggest going to your GW 1 shortcut, going to properties, and adding “-image” to the end of the target line. This allows the game to download all available updates before you load in the game the first time. Otherwise when you do get in the game the loading screens are going to be long while the game downloads stuff. Once it’s all downloaded, remove the “-image” part to launch the game normally.
If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, read here:

I agree, it’s one of many features I miss about GW 1. Luckily this one should be more doable than others if the devs want to.
I’d also do a charr warrior because it would be my second warrior and I just want him for looks xD
I still want to enjoy leveling all the other classes normally.
The new races in GW 2 were never a selling point for me, I liked being human in GW 1 (and getting to focus more on the differences within humans) and most of my characters are once again human; I feel the most connection with them thanks to GW 1.

As you see by the age of that post, this was back at release and I am still mad at myself v.v

TC has held bay all night through several attempts to take it on DBBL. So many epic fights!
I mostly want to see the ascended gear that they are working on and new maps. WvW is my favorite part of the game but it does get stale.
I had some real fun tonight in TCBL, we had a few enjoyable battles at ruins but my favorite was the defense at bay.
Asian schoolgirls are serious business.
No one cares what you have to say. Your guild is a joke. You use cheap tactics and your “guild leader” proves it. Don’t be too upset because you’ve been exposed.
A perfect example of most of the community; it doesn’t matter what might be logical, nothing can change a person’s mind when emotions are involved.
What actually is the story behind that image is ET beats the crap out of SoS, which has been cheating with flight hacks for the past half week. After it becomes apparent that even if ET handed over all territories to SoS and stopped playing for the rest of the week, SoS could never win, Ruin’s leader heads over to SoS’s server to take a picture of the golem group from SoS’s perspective. SoS then uses this one screenshot to invent a convoluted explanation for their own terrible performance.
Hold up, are you accusing SoS of using flight hacks? If so thank you for making my day, 10/10 would read again for a good laugh.
If they aren’t using flight hacks I’d love to see a video of how they got a treb to the left of the waterfall at their base. I have never seen anyone get up there before. I’d be genuinely interested in see a “how to video”. Is it even possible for enemies to get up there?
They can jump to it…but there is an actual screenshot floating around that shows different individuals from SoS flying; it’s how we lost the north keep and wildcreek earlier in the match.
we do not play in the borderlands
I have no problem with you playing in borderlands, but please don’t lie.
I am in borderlands right now and Ruin pushing us back hard.
I doubt he meant to lie to you out right. We (RUIN) are assigned to EB as our primary stomping grounds and are suppose to only queue for borderlands as an overflow area. If we’re in there then we’re most likely waiting for our EB queues to pop.
So the other day I got very lucky and got Dusk to drop, the exotic greatsword required to craft Twilight. Since the crafting process for legendaries is very time consuming and I am a long way off from gathering all the mats, and because I didn’t really like the skin on Dusk I decided to use my Felblade skin.
However now that I did this it no longer says "This weapon is used to craft the legendary greatsword Twilight." I was surprised since it still said it during the transmutation window but seems to be gone, leading me to believe that I just screwed myself out of a legendary down the road.
Is there any way to undo this, or put in a ticket, or am I just out of options?
