SO… If you are new customer to GW2 you get a Bonus of the core game… for free.

But if you are a loyal, long term customer of GW2 and have been spending money with anet for the last three years, you get… nothing.

Thanks, but I won’t be comming back whilst the greed monster blocks my path.

This is exactly my point. A loyal, long term customer gets nothing. What a kittenty idea Anet. Me and my guildies are not coming back to this game if HoT comes out

just posted this in another thread, but still wanna post it here one more time here to really voice out my opinion

The problem is still like
for veteran players:
I pay 100USD for old content(five character slots) + new content (1 character slot only if you pre-purchase)
for new players:
I pay 50 USD for old content(five character slots) + new content

Now come on, even if us veteran players pre-purchase HoT, what are we getting? An extra character slot. A freaking extra character slot. How much does that cost? 800 gems or 10 USD. Does this 800 gems mean anything to a veteran player who started playing since 2012 or even 2014? I don’t think so.

What kind of appreciation is this? Even worse is players that started playing this game 6 months ago can get a full-price refund. That means they don’t need to pay more to enjoy new content. A player who played a game for 6 months can be counted as a veteran and why on earth are players that are even more “veteran” who support this game longer, maybe even pay more for gems get treated like kitten?

I understand you want to attract more new players into this game, to keep this game “lively”, but that doesn’t mean you can treat old players like kitten.

hello everyone, firstly thank you The Talcmaster for creating this awesome post. This really helps a lot for people like me who want to write a bit of program to access the TP outside of the game.

As I’m pretty new to using JSON, I would like to know how can I authenticate myself when accessing the TP? I’m using C# on Unity.

This so-call achievement just can’t be considered to be an achievement. An Achievement shouldn’t even include a random factor in it. Things with RNG is just a ffff-ing lucky draw, not an achievement. Not to mention the short limited time and super frustrating lack-of-hints-for-progress for us players to “achieve” the “achievement”.

Also this makes me feel that ANet are treating us player who don’t have lots of time to play the game as lower-classed players. So apparently we are suppose to be sitting in front of computer, playing game 10 hours a day to get the achievement. So us who need to go out and work to make money to support our family are going to say byebye to this “achievement”? This isn’t fair at all!

I know they sell pirated games at street vendors in China as well. My point? None of the retailers in Hong Kong are “official”. A.Net has yet to launch or ship in China. Just because some businesses imported it to that country to sell to people, doesn’t mean that the product creators support that.

What A.Net HAS done in that region was the Closed Beta between May 2nd through May 9th, which was supported by regionally set up servers.

so what do you think about they didn’t block all IP addresses that are outside US?
Clearly they support players from all over the world.

The problem is that ANet should think more of their “outside-US” players before they release something new. With the minigame is considered un-do-able, you’ve made lots of players fail to enjoy what they suppose to have the right to enjoy. This is about fairness among all players.

first I have to say I really appreciate all the great works ArenaNet had done for us, they tried their best to enhance our gameplay experience and I found this game is so amazing that I believe this is the most awesome online game I’ve ever played.

However in this update, the new content frustrated me a lot. Sure it’s lovely to see some more new stuff being put in the game to make the game world more interesting to explore, but in this new sky city, I feel I am being discriminated.

The reason for me to say that is lots of new contents require jumping and they’re in form of jumping puzzle and these puzzles greatly require a good and smooth network to fully enjoy them. These may not troubles you if you live in US, but greatly troubles all those players who are not living in US.

Taking me as an example, I live in Hong Kong. For every single time I use “Super Jump” skill (sorry I can’t remember the name), there must be a 1-2 second(s) delay. “Lightning Pull” is even more severe. 8 out of 10 times my character hangs at mind-air for about 2 seconds when he’s doing the fancy air-jump-rolling, then fall straight into abyss and crush onto the ground.

With these skill delay, I can’t even play normally in the racing mini game. “Lighting Pull” always overshoot or again hangs at mind-air(packet loss maybe?), run pass an obstacle and sudden the game teleports you back to the place where you was 3 seconds ago, “Super Jump” can sometimes made a vertical jump despite you keep pressing “W” key, “Super Dash”(again I forgot the name) can sometimes actually stops you from running(you need to press “W” to run again). When all these things happen to you, how fun it is to play a round of racing mini game!!!

The worst of all is some of them count towards the achievement, with the new achievement point reward system implemented, you’re basically telling me “if you want some good stuffs, go play some more!” which is totally fine for me. But you’re ignoring all those players with not so good/bad network, it is totally confusing and frustrating for us to aim for these achievement and try to play more.

Best. Content. Ever.

I really appreicate ANet did lots of amazing stuff to enhance our gameplay experience, but I totally disagree with you in this matter.
They created a “new world” that requires players to have a good network, before he/she can enjoy the content.

Just imagine you’re using the “Lightning Pull” to sky-jump-roll to a certain location, and your character hangs at mid-air for 2 second and falls into abyss. How fun.
