I so deserve it for continuing to play this wonderful game.

Today average ping in ranked arena EU server over 500 constantly.

The game is NOT playable like this. And it’s been like that the past week or so. Everything else runs perfectly in my PC, from web browsers to other online games.

The problem is ONLY with GW2.

All the people that think that this boss is OK for pugs at 50+ please add me in-game and lets have a run. I’d love to succeed at least once. Thank you (and for your replies).

Does anyone else feel that 50+ Thaumanova Fractal end boss is a bit too hard in relation to the rest of this fractal for random parties?

Every single one of my random parties for this fractal have their share of difficulties through the entire dungeon but always manage to reach the end boss. There, it is total catastrophe though, hopeless …

Is it possible that this end boss is a bit too difficult for random parties?

We had someone DC?/leave? even before the match started and he never returned.
My question is: should such a 5v4 match be allowed to continue?

I see that I need 4 mist core fragments for my legendary backpack and that I can get them through the Glorious reward track in pvp.

Now, I have completed that track at least 6 times when it first came out (ie. long before the pvp seasons and HoT), but I cannot find those mist core fragments anywhere. Wiki sais you get at least 1 per track completion.

So as the title suggests some advice is needed due to my computers FPS being very erratic. In some area the FPS is 120 or higher and then in others it tanks to 20-40 FPS. Admittedly some of these areas are zerg fights in WvW, but I recently upgraded to a new PC and it was my understanding that graphics wise GW2 should be more stable over all after this upgrade. These are my Specs:

-Intel Skylake i5-6600k 3.5Ghz Quad
-GTX 970 G1
-16GB Patriot Viper DDr4

So looking at these, could anyone guess what might be lacking or causing my FPS to tank? Also worth noting is that I’m not running an SSD, and that I am running 64-bit Windows and the 64-bit GW2 client.

Omg I have the exact same hardware and OS setup! And I updated recently too! Except with an SSD and G-skill RAM.

If you have been experiencing ping spikes and lag recently and you have an ASUS PC, the Gamefirst III utility is the likely culprit. I ran into this problem on my brand new PC myself, and after a long search I stumbled upon people having the same issue with numerous online games, including HotS and Overwatch (I don’t play those, so I can’t rightly say).

The utility runs in the background by default, you have to disable it (or uninstall it, it’s not important). I did it, and the ping spikes disappeared instantly.

Hello I have a brand new PC too with ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard but I cannot find this Gamefirst utility anywhere. Is there something I am doing wrong? Where should I look to find it and uninstall it? I am using Windows 10 64 bit.

I am new to playing Revenant and was wondering how viable a full condition build is. I was looking at the Demon stance and the Mace weapon and they seem interesting.

Would such a condition build be viable for high level fractals, or would it be inferior to full zerker? Thanks.

What’s your CPU, though? Gw2 is MUCH more reliant on CPU single core strength than anything with a GPU.

Infact, if your current GPU is moderately recent and mid-grade or above, you’re probably fine with it.

So to recap: What’s your current PC specifications? CPU,GPU, RAM and Operating System.

My current CPU is AMD Athlon with an ATI radeon 9 somehting gpu. I haven’t done an upgrade since 2009 so the system is getting pretty old and I am building a new one from scratch.

Hello. I am doing an upgrade on my gaming PC and I was wondering which GPU is most appropriate for GW2 and the alike mmorpg’s.

I think GTX 980 (or the ti) is an overkill for such games and also they cost more than what I am willing to pay for a GPU.

I was thinking of the GTX 970 which ranges between 380 – 450 euro. Which brand would you consider good? MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS?

Hello. I am looking into upgrading my PC, starting from the CPU which is an AMD Phenom II if I remember correctly.

I only use the PC to play role playing games like Guild Wars 2, but I want to play them at the maximum graphics setting with no problems.

Do you think an i7 4790K or an i5 4690K is the best for that? Or any other?

Care to explain what exactly do you mean by the term “kittenedness”? Or you could crawl back to your troll hole. Either way suits me fine.

Your anger is misplaced and generalizing an entire profession is as ignorant as racism. There are many different builds available to the Thief as there is with any of the other professions, not all of them utilize high stealth uptime or massive burst damage. Despite what people think, it is more difficult to play a Thief than just stealthing and button mashing, there is a lot of thinking on your toes because you have such low health, no blocks, immunities or stability. I don’t claim Thief to be any harder to play than any of the other professions but you do have respect for them once you start playing them. I used to hate Thieves myself but when I learned to fight them I only disliked them, then, later on when I made my own, I no longer even dislike them because I see that they are not as easy to play as I had assumed.

All people think their profession of choice is underpowered while the others are overpowered. Look at any of the other sections here and you will see the same thing. Being a sarcastic ignoramus mocking Thieves and being upset isn’t going to change anything and crying about it to people who enjoy the profession isn’t going to make you friends.

COFp1p2, AC all paths, SEp1p3, TA up, CMp1p3 all pug friendly and relatively quick with full zerkers group. With your warrior it should be easy to run them to the point of boring. Easy money.

I run almost every day the following with random groups very efficiently and relatively quick: COF p1p2, AC p1p3, CM p1p3, TA fw+up, SE p1p3. Easy and pug friendly paths.

I think a server with very high population and a guild with many active people will solve your problem. Good luck.

As far as I’ve read the various guides available the most accepted gear for general pve purposes is Berserker at the moment. As far as weapons, I think Pistol/Shield and Rifle are accepted the most. Both sets have their blast finisher, with the shield providing some added blocks and rifle doing some extra dps.

Run Citadel of Flame explorable mode path 1 once or twice a day to get Flame Charr Carvings with which you can buy Exotic level 80 Armour and Weapons from Lion’s Arch. It’s the cheapest way to gear up and pretty fast as well. Within a couple weeks you should be full in exotics.

Also do your daily quest each day, either the pve or the pvp one (the pvp is usually faster to do). This way you will get 1 Laurel per day which you can trade for Ascended Rings, Amulet and Accessories in Lion’s Arch.

I also have an Engineer level 80 and use 30/30/0/0/10 with full Berserker Gear (power/precision/critical). Utilities are Grenade kit (ranged dps), Bomb Kit (melee range dps), and Elixir Gun (added support and healing).

I would advise doing crafting when you have a pool of Gold , at least 50g+ because it can be costly. I only do crafting to level my alts.

Other than that, don’t get stressed too much and enjoy playing the way you like

The Ranger is super easy to play and does straightforward good dps. The Engineer is a more complex class in the sense that you have many skills and therefore many combinations but this is why it is more fun to play in my opinion. His dps is more or less the same in my view to the Ranger.
