They should add special effect in PvE, like increase aggro rate,increase defense when receive retaliation and enemy attack speed increase nearby player that got retaliation so that it will be more damaging for enemies in PvE. Should only increase in defense and no attack speed boost for bosses however.

I kinda struck at it for more than 30 minutes and it’s only 1 file remains. Still no sign that I can finish downloading the game. Anyone knows about how much is it? Or is it the fact that it’s final chapter of season 2 so there are many people here to taste it?

I got a weird lag today and REALLY WEIRD !

I control my char but any skill I press will have 5 seconds delay while other people can move or doing anything as if they are playing just fine! Like, I was about to heal but it takes 5 MORE SECONDS + NORMAL CASTING TIME and I really wonder what the heck?

I press it so many times and it’s so unresponsive! Seriously Devs? [— —-— —-- – ——!
Did you guys ever take care about lag spike or you just ….——- —-—— – ——— —-—-?

BETTER CHECK THE INTERNET CABLE PLEASE! FOR REAL!

It’s not that bad if you’re Power-specced and have a MH sword. Otherwise, I imagine it can be quite painful.

Yeah. I already include in my first post. Before I have bunch of gold, I use shaman set or any vitality set to at least extend the time before I down. I fear that Arenanet will force people to use berserker set + brain. Brain is not a big problem. The bigger problem is not everyone can afford berserker set and the biggest problem is input most of damage source into only one thing (phantasm) and it will be really frustrating if that kind of a damage source is being nullify by mechanic.

I don’t think MH sword auto attack has that nice damage (unless that people who say so has full berserker set and go for high power and high ferocity) .

And someone mention about summoning phantasms at that boss before getting bomb hole protection boon, I don’t think it will do any damage because I tried that from afar, it still suffering EXTREMELY low damage. Both normal attack and phantasms alike. (And worse, any phantasms that target from afar does not damaging the boss even I get bomb hole protection. So weird. )

Also other classes have some serious power that does not rely on anything too much. Look. An Engineer can spam grenades and he/she can do it within melee range. (1 2 3 4 5 F1/F2/F3/F4 and stuff.)
A ranger has better melee power. At least ranger can apply most of attack skills on that boss. So the other classes can finish that boss faster. And I’m not trying to do time attack but with the Mesmer having to rely on illusions too much (and that’s its core too!) and any misstep you make or the AIs fault will force you to do it all over.

And mesmer’s power without illusions are utterly low and that’s pretty shame that the devs think about full berserker set to use some brain tissues but they forgot to think about mesmer that even players use most of there brain tissue they still get frustrating really hard! Unless the players have bunch of time and no emergency job response to finish that bomb hole dependent boss. Not even mention the story semi-boring part in the library and the final boss that require to get both light attunement and fragile to that stone.

I don’t know if the devs will read this topic or not (which I don’t think they will…..Or they already read it but pretend to not posting or accept the problem?) but hope that the next LS content will less likely depend on full berserker set but rely more on brain AND profession core mechanics (Yeah. A monster in Dry top requires you to attack in front of it that’s nice design but illusions summon in the unpredictable way unlike necromancer minions and all minion types AIs can’t even figure that!)

Probably best to go down the mantra dps build until Anet perhaps addresses this. It sure is tedious and slow on Mesmer without illusions. Shatter is probably worth a shot too.

I tried shatter too…and as I mention, the clones/phantasms must be created first and I swear that when ANY clones and phantasms (after triumphant distortion effect ends) they’re gone within a second so shatter is useless (no illusion is created because it gone already).

And I forgot to mention that during that part YOU will get damage all the time so you can’t swap traits or weapons unless you decide to commit seppuku (by entering that bomb hole or whatever.)

This is completely unrelated to final part and the Vortex parts. I can solve those parts easily (well not really.)

How can you attack that big ice-like boss for mesmer when devs put a big bomb hole on its area? Minions like illusions can’t even do anything even traited with Triumphant distortion to be honest! It just falls within a second and heh, luckily that before I quit this game for a long time ago I purchase bunch of assassin and cavalier set. Can’t imagine what if I still stick with the RP or price solution like stick with Shaman set.

I think they thought that “Hey, just put some puzzle so that those berserker set will not just press 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1….. They have to use some brains!” But yeah, illusions have no brain….That’s utterly bad for them. :/ Also, Mesmer does not have powerful close combat power (this exclude illusion and shattering of course: illusions fall in a second with that “bomb hole” madness.

Guess they thought only the close combat specialist classes will be played the most which is ashamed. The puzzle is somewhat great (I like vortex part idea and the final part…Speaking of final part, warrior ,guardian and elementalist’s invincibility are soooooooooooooooo good in this situation. Forget about Distortion shatter. ) but I think only the specific classes can enjoy them in which I think devs should not make anything like this (class specific fun)!

Well. Please make the story more dramatic….BUT do not make anyone death.

Lots of stories in the past are just nothing but “This place was destroyed by …..” “That guy was killed by…….” “That gal backstab an important guy and he is death.” Those cities are invaded by ….. and falling into the ground.". I mean it just nothing but involve with three things : Destroyed , death and mass destroyed.

It should have more plot twists or at least some battle that will not always result into 3 things above. Like a guy trying to bring a mage down with one shot but a hero knock her down and you injure and have to fight her with wound.

Or maybe something like the heroes fight with the big devil and when she almost fall, she abducts an important child…but another important character shoot an arrow to her energy source and weaken her and that devil runaway. After some time of investigation, the heroes found a place to defeat that devil once and for all, but the devil using a magic to disrupt a key character force some of the heroes to choose whether to find the way to cure the key character or ignore her and destroy the devil’s final core that will make the devil fallen….

Etc. Hope you can make more dramatic scene but less “killing and being killed” (look at Majory’s sister). Even this is a child rating but you can do it in a bit more interesting way, right?

PS Forgot to say, if the Gw2 dev team wants something to be destroy or almost fallen like what Lion’s arch got, make it in a bit more magic instead! Like instead of mass missile falling like XCOM, make it like some magic power makes people ill/confusing/freezing/burning in a bit illusion way/running around the town and can’t do anything and etc.

I think some classes are really hard to counter a ranger who play this style.

Just wait for an opportunity to : Wait for a target to be isolated and make sure that that team is losing. Put sic em and shoot. It’s kind of op to counter someone with “only attack when him/her is in losing team.”.
Thief and Necromancer are the classes that really hard to counter this ranger. They have no reflect and thief dodge is not that long enough to counter. Not to mention sic em too. Last time I counter it was Skyhammer when she shot a knockback arrow to me and I was about to use dancing dagger and she fell into the ground….

But well. Around 90 seconds cooldown for a reflect versus 2 Quicken skills with 8 seconds cooldown. Seriously. (And I run defensive traits too.)

And also ranger with this kind of playstyle will of course trying to snipe from afar and it require luck to avoid it. Unless you have a good team. Again. With the ranking view gone in spectator there is no clue to figure out who is a newbie , a diehard fanclub or whatever and that is really bad.

I just play for a few minutes ago and try to do the events that require to knock champion Drake down. I just want to try something so I decide to go into downing state. No one rez me. All they do are nothing but attacking. And it’s not only occur to me, other people who are down in any champion events are rarely being rez. So I think it’s time to upgrade the events in Frostgorge sound so that that place will not become the farming area. People(who in Frostgorge sound) are selfish. (exclude Jormag event. )

It’s……crap, like a child. You will have to rely your teammates and I mean 5 people zerging and destroy other team utterly to do so. And it’s really low chance to get a lot of people together like that because you know it’s hotjoin. You will be knock down in no time with that especially annoying thief, warrior , mesmer , guardian…..etc.

Mine was Hide in shadow , Shadow refuge , Blinding powder , Torment venom and Basilisk venom. You don’t have to attack like most assassins do especially for some berserker annoying thief. Just when opponent’s hp is low, shoot with black powder and he/she will get stun normally. Use headshot is really bad idea since it’s already apply daze effect (stack for stun seriously?) I use this all the time. Then just attack normally. You still get 10-15 points if your opponent beat opponent and you just attack him/her but not much.

I think they should rework arcane thievery so that it will not having the similar effect. Also it’s kind of useless in PvE and now I lost the only way to get low cooldown reflect projectile for Karka.(put focus away.)

They did not increase velocity for scepter right? Why to worry then? It’s not something like Mesmer scepter auto attack will be direct hit like Necromancer. It’s still lame on PvP anyway because you have to get a hit and its velocity is so slow that players can avoid it in 1 vs 1. Unless you play it with zerg or just PvE. And scepter really needs buff for a long time ago and too bad I change to cavalier before this change.

Well. Some players will still exploit things anyway. I ever saw a thief using all signet and activate all of them at once for 25 stacks of might and then find a target , C and D and backstab = instant down. No one gonna help because it always target the weakling.

Yep. Thief deserves more nerfs. (I main PvP thief by myself but did not use exploit technics.)

Rather than removing Skyhammer, let's fix it.

I test so many things in PvP about the way to earn chest reward in PvP with the following methods.
-Do maximum afford. Usually lead to 100+ scores.
-Do low effort. Only resurrect other people and capture area.
-Capture 1 control point or resurrect 1 people to get 10 point or knock 1 guy and gone afk and wait for winning or join winning team.
The last method is just unacceptable and even you get 200 points but lose, the reward point is so low that will not encourage people or as you know, swipe to winning team. Even if you play just for fun, the winning side will usually be 1 side zerging and the losing team will usually be the team that fulfill with noob and/or newbie, how good is this?
Also what I mean is that ANET SHOULD FIX THE REWARD SCALING AND PROBABLY TEAM BALANCE. (Exclude volunteer to join losing side.)

final boss fight too much

learn to play your class. blink, use illusions/phantasms, take advantage of the tendril AI and use stealth

so you might die once at the freaking end boss, so what, that’s when you retrait and learn what u did wrong instead of complaining on forums

Can you show your stats and traits? And how can you re-trait when defeated and how can you do it after revive? And like I said I did not complain I just tell my opinion.
Forgot to mention about Gw2’s network laggy issue too.
Ah nevermind. Forgot to mention that that kind of a guy just use zerker full set and claim themselves to be pro. What a lame.

final boss fight too much

Let’s say some minority people who think this is easy boss must be Guardian Elementalist or any class that remove conditions easily (I’m playing Mesmer and I have Disenchanter but even successfully dodge “homing attack”, that phantasmal will not and it will be 1 hit shot for illusions.) Probably that Guardian and Elementalist (or maybe Engineer even thief) can have better plan to dodge and cleanse conditions without having to rely on utility. And the worst is that, after Pale tree being attacked, you have a few seconds to change traits and adjusting trait while “homing attack” is incoming, your chance to change trait to what I want will be so low (due to being attacked.)

Even Null field can solve easily but those tendrills spread too many conditions. You can dodge, yes. But you can’t dodge more than 2. (And did anyone using Mimic on those tendrill attack? It seems to be blockable ranged attack and I hope it works.)

Forgot to say that this is my opinion. I’m not pro like a pro engineer that always use heal turret and explode for healing field and stuff.

I’m so glad that they decide to nerf Warrior sometimes. It’s ridiculous to get both strength and mobility (number 4 and 5) in the same time…..but I hope that this nerf and other nerf should be preserve to PvP and WvW. And maybe nerf other skills for PvE instead. (Mace and axe are the first step. I guess.)

I’m sorry, but you obviously didn’t see the ‘gentle’ NECK SNAPPING going on in Prosperity Village. (There was one NPC whose head was twisted at such an angle that I literally went “Oh. Oh, my.”)

The vines aren’t rough-housing these people, they’re literally scooping them up and snapping their necks. Clean and lethal. Belinda’s expression is blank because she was most likely caught unaware.

Edit: Saw the attachment. Your graphic quality definitely plays a hand in the encounter. By the way, the hole is just coincidental.

Um yeah. Guess I miss it because I too excite in this patch. Also thanks for the info.

I don’t know why but in my opinion I don’t have a feeling of sadness when I saw anyone in a vine killed. I think they merely asleep in the vine and for Majory’s sister, I think she is just dancing but got poison so that her body is stop moving. The vines themselves did not hold people tight too. It’s like it’s trying to dance or just hang the people.(Compare to Borderlands 2’s……well, utterly more violence)
The emotion of Majory’s sister is also too solid to be “killed”, it’s like a doll with static face. (I understand that it’s GW2’s engine reason though.)
Let just hope that Arenanet intend to do “loosely” entangle to be able to maintain its 12 years+ video game rating.

Well. Sort of bad things happen in there a lot.
When I stealth-ing to wait for other people to join when I fight with the superior class like warrior, they insult me for something like can do only stealth.
When I use Lich form when 1vs1, they said it’s not fair.

Not mention to lots of trolls available in PvP too. lol
It’s kind of fail community……somehow.

More tactics & GM traits for boss please.

In conclusion , If you adjust the traits skills and how to fight a boss to be more challenging, more fun , more tactics, that should be nice to not make a game be nothing but attack for the win.

In my opinion, all bosses right now (probably an exception for Scarlett, you make it nice) are purely nothing but just attacks until you fall and hope for the win. I think it is time to make it more tactical to let the role of the other classes shine so that it will not be nothing but WARRIOR ’N GUARDIAN. (and say, put the rest into recycle bin)

Even some or devs say that players that choose to play other classes are for casual or find something new, their important and efficiency however are too low and I think it is a very bad thing. So I want to suggest this as an example.

Like mixing some traits for a boss…
Mesmers :Any on interrupt/daze related,Power block,Triumphant Distortion on knocking a player down.
Bountiful Disillusionment : On boss minion’s dead or on shatter command if you wish to input into the boss.

With many traits from the other classes like Ranger (Survival of the Fittest)
Thief (Invigorating Precision)
Elementalist
Stone Heart: Always apply so no one will have critical attack.
Elemental Contingency: Change to always get 1-5 buffs at once just like Chaos armor, Lightning Rod
Diamond Skin: maybe something like during 50 percent hp phase the boss gain no condition damage but when the boss have hp less than 50 percents it suffer double condition damage)
Necromancer (Parasitic Contagion, Unholy Martyr: always active and restore small amount of hp) etc.

AND give a unique power that is not just 1HKO like have a lot of daze skills , very low attack power, provide lots of boons and condition remover to minions and require to knock all minions down first before attacking boss (just like Scarlett. I really like that boss fight design but still purely raw damage somehow.)

So in conclusion. If you adjust the traits skills and how to fight a boss to be more challenging, more fun , more tactics, that should be nice to not make a game be nothing but attack for the win.

They fail at balancing classes. (Look at how they adjust warrior. It’s too strong without a good reason enough. I’m not speaking for mesmer but seriously, they adjust in a completely wrong way. They said no holy trinity but making jack of all trade classes is somewhat lame. Maybe they should consider something like decide how the warriors are good at, how the Mesmers are good at and maybe more)

They prefer to ignore customer’s feedback, mostly. (nothing but make it worse like events and stuffs. Not about expansion though, they require a large sum of money to invest. Still, boring events like too many mass battle festival and boring big-boss fight (I mean only “attack to win” part, they should add more puzzles during boss fight, like Tequal, but it should be more obvious like demonstrate an Asura using a cannon to attack something to make a boss weaker and then he/she fallen and a leader shout for something like “Help, we need someone to use a cannon. Follow me!” etc.)

They also fail at solving bugs [YEAH I MEAN CHARRS!]. That told us how ignorance they are.

They should concentrate on those basic things first before doing something new. Customer’s trust is the thing that ArenaNet has to catch it back otherwise it will be bad for them. (unless they don’t want profit)

PS Forgot to say that they should start making a decision about which class should be excel at. Like Necromancer for conditions (GIVE THEM MORE UNIQUE like a second bar of condition just for necromancer to apply more stack) , Warrior for purely melee (reduce range effectiveness) , Guardian at buffs (they weak at attacking) , Mesmer both boons applier and conditions applier and etc.

Well. I think in PvE it’s not good because you know all classes can apply conditions.
But in PvP it’s good for attack other player with ambush playstyle.
Just apply stealth to yourself, go near teammates that attacking opponent and apply venom. Oh and if you choose Torment do not choose immobilize as those are conflict to each other. (why you will apply Torment with immobilize when Torment’s effect is better when that opponent is moving?)
This ambush thing will mostly guarantee to give a down to opponent.

I never found any issue with regen being imbalanced, so this change confuses me quite a bit. I will say it seems like every balance pass they nerf the warrior in some way, nerfing upsets people, buff underused skills instead. If you find that warriors are using healing signet too much, then that is because the other heals are just not appealing enough.

At first I think like you too. But when you try to duel with other warrior and you knock down. You will know how unfair it is and especially no one around to catch that warrior to stop full recovery to max hp. (Or maybe if that warrior success to run away using spam movement skills to run away at you or your teammate. PvE is not a problem though.)

Seriously male clothes should have more skimpy armor/clothes available in ALL armor types AND regardless of the race too!

This made me chuckle. I had to actually go look… and then I found all the others (Scarlet, Jory, etc) so I had to follow them all. It was worth the 5 minutes of amusement that I got.

I have Charr Mesmer (main) ,Elementalist ,Warrior and Engineer.
I have Charr Thief and Guardian too but they are not 80 yet.
And a sylvari Necromancer.
All male. (Don’t get me wrong but female VO is somewhat….annoying especially for female asura.

Last time i remember that i got a book when i first met Majory.
Then there are some exact spot to replay movie like the one in Fractured and the Nightmare within.

Where is it this time? I wish it will be available as a book or special instance for anyone who finished her.

I wish it will happen. :’(
PS Forgot to give a reason. This event is so hard that require too high teamwork AND DPS too.

I speak in technical posibility. So don’t blame me.

I wonder if this invasion is real? Because if it is, all of the things in Lion’s arch will affect to all players.

I mean, from personal story that require to go to LA to trigger things like mail (Magister Sieren and Tybalt for example) , Map exploring to mini game like Keg brawl.

For those reasons, Arenanet will have to tweak a lot in both GW2’s internal structure like chain to trigger events for personal story (seriously how new players will play those personal story, I know it’s not interesting at all once you play more than 5 characters or choose a story choice that is the same path as other character.) npc adjustment or maybe something like a whole set-up for a place that will replace LA as the story mark to be gone. It’s like if you got a nuke (in a city management game), you have to find a better place to stay and I have heard a rumor from Youtube follower that most of the things like WvW gates will be held at Vigil’s HQ in which I think it’s too small.

Also, I fear that Areananet can’t find a second player hub for players too.(unless the Dev plans to let the players make it by themselves) Look around the cities of the 5 major races. (In my server) The biggest portal city that exclude LA could be Metrica province. So I don’t know how they will handle this problem at all to be honest . Because if new hub will really be Vigil’s HQ, I think it’s too small for players.

So I think this one would be something like…..Testing Scarlet’s manipulation power to let people (players) think that her armies will overwhelm LA. Because I don’t think the dev will sacrifice all of those starter since the beta just for the new one to be honest.
