Caithe isn’t really a “good guy”, in the Sylvari personal story she kills a defenseless prisoner after promising him mercy. No heat of the moment killing, or defensive struggle. He gave us the info we wanted and then she offs him like some mobster. None of destiny’s edge are really good people. Rytlock is the most acceptable and he’s got a short fuse and ten Charr’s worth of attitude.

Best Guild Quests for a small guild

My guild is made up a few real life friends. Most dropped out after the second month or so. Now its mainly just 2 of us. Are there any guild quests that we can research that we can actually do without help? I’ve heard that most don’t end well unless you have 6+ people.

I swear that I’ve gotten multiple monthly credit for doing the same jumping puzzle in LA. I’ve done it over multiple days though. The puzzle chests reset with the daily achievements. I’m away from home now, but I’ll try to remember to confirm this tonight.

If all you’re doing in WvW is running with a zerg, which is what you make it sound like, then it doesn’t really matter what you run. There is plenty of utility in slowing, or redirecting the opposing zerg that you can do without that build. I found that more opponents died in my zerg when my Engineer switched to using net turret to keep enemies on our side. Guardian has a decent amount of area denial you could use.

If you’re running around in small groups or alone, then you can use ANY guardian build you want.

Your spirit weapons and summons get your buffs to allies. you can use them for solo running builds. They aren’t a group of PCs but they will give you AH.

Sword/Torch with something like this:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Condiment-Build-Guardian-with-all-the-fix-ns/first#post1773170

If you run by yourself, pick a Summon Weapon utility skill or your race summon and then you have friends to give bonuses to.

torch #5 and sword #3 do a nice chunk of damage with high crit chance.

It doesn’t actually do damage, it just poisons, right? That’s an awesome idea, I wish you could at least use it to do decent damage. Maybe like 1k or something and have a 200 sec cooldown. Then it could be fun to die.

Class Communities

I have a warrior I love, an Engineer I cherish and a Guardian I’m training to kill everything. I’ve also been looking into the forums for the Thief and Mesmer to broaden my playable classes.

The differences in how the classes talk to themselves is quite impressive:
- Warriors like their high damage output, but wish to have more soul(combat tricks) to their class, even to the detriment of that damage.
-Guardians mostly bunker down and try to fine tune their abilities to survive combat until the enemy is dead, lamenting the lack of escape. And fearing the upcoming “boon hate” that was mentioned.
-Engineers tinker heavily, no one satisfied by the current traits or bugged skills, but refusing to leave the class they love so much. There is also much more “just get used to the class” and “Its’ supposed to be a difficult class” thrown around here.
-Mesmers seem pretty content. They can’t agree on how best to use their clones, but they’re generally happy.

And then I went to the Thieves section, and there was either annoyance about not being able to be perma-steathed anymore or calling the other half noobs for various reasons. I know every forum is full of grief, but here there were maybe two threads where there was true collaboration.

I’m not complaining, I just thought it was interesting how the classes seemed to attract specific types of people. It’s actually a nice way to decide if you’d like to play a class. Read their forum posts, if you like the people, you’ll probably like the class.

What about things like Sigil of Hydromancy that freezes people around you for three seconds? my weapon choices are one set for damage(S/T) and the other for survivability(M/F). On the M/F I have hydromancy and energy for extra dodge. They aren’t abilities, but they are easily available to us.

The Nature of Asuran Names

I wish the golem suit was better, I named mine Bannakaffalatta. I wanted to go around shouting “Bannakaffalatta Proud! Bannakaffalatta Cyborg!” and dropping the mech-suit down. Unfortunately, that has not been the case.

If you’re still having trouble, start playing a random Asura. Listen to them talk a bit and then imagine if you would be okay with your Asura introducing themselves with that name in that voice.

All the ones I tried(30 min or so), were taken. Now my Guardian is named Fifty Seven, I then made him an orphan in a very strict orphanage that gave the children numbers instead of names(in my head). I’m actually quite fond of the name now, especially during cut scenes when someone says my name.

Hammer is easily the most fun you can have with a warrior. And it doesn’t have that crap long swing time that guardian has to deal with.

This build is mainly meant for damage, focusing on the use of the S/T skills, giving might to myself and friends from critical hits and retaliation from popping judgement. Sigil of Ice on the sword slows the opponents defense(with vulnerability on crit on the torch) and damage while stability(save yourselves/stand your ground) keeps me dishing mine out. I have hydromancy on my mace and 50% endurance on the focus to give me breathing room if i take too much damage and need to heal myself or friends.

The might gain to allies and save yourselves/Contemplation of purity combo allows me to de-condition my friends and gain a stack of boons to boot. Not sure if I want to keep the runes I have, but each +20% might gives me an extra second/stack of might on everyone from might on crit. It also allows for a decent changing around of skills while maintaining usefulness. So far I find this build fun and very survivable.

I was also thinking of combining the might on crit with Altruistic Healing, but I don’t really like the way the stats play out for it:

thinking of switching from mace to sword

in Guardian

BoomSeal.4058

If you want to kill quickly, go sword/torch. I have the vulnerability on blind and +damage to conditioned foes. Blink in to blind and fire breathe away to take down half of their health. I love S/T combo, and I offset with Mace/Focus for healing and survival. It is really nice with a Sigil of Ice on the mace to freeze those around you for a little breathing room.

Sword actually works pretty well in groups too. with the might to allies on crit, you can keep an extra 5 stacks of might on your team with no skills used. That plus Altruistic Healing gives you a heal every second.(the might on crit has a on sec cooldown) I like running this with a shout or two as well. I’m very hard to kill with a friend around.
