Umm, you can already do this. Do the WvW reward tracks for dungeons and you will get enough tokens to buy the Gift of the Nobleman etc.
when this happened, pretty much everyone failed to connect to the game. It wasn’t limited to WvW. I imagine it was some kind of server/network thing.
both of you should move together to a smaller server. That is the easiest and quite possible cheapest solution, 500 gems each for 2 moves = 1000 gems. A single move to a Very High server at 1800 gems is more expensive.
are you actually ranking up though? or are you just leveling up? There is a difference
Commanders, please stop building siege right on top of each other in a way that makes it extremely easy for one disrupter to disable it all. While I am at it, rams do not need to be right next to each other and right up against the gate. Set them back a bit and they are effectively immune from door trebs.
I didn’t see it as much in T1 but T3/T4 servers apparently have not learned. I guess all that PvD in the lower tiers has created some bad habits. All weekend I have seen commanders dropping catas right on top of each other only to watch one player constantly disrupting attacks.
It was just too painful to watch after it happened at four different objectives one right after another with a single commander. On the third one the commander tripled down and built a third cata right next to the two that were disabled and under AC fire.
that’s because lower tier players don’t rely on siege as a crutch so we never know where to place them properly
*shots fired*
:p
I kinda wished my account name was Bera, then I can say that my weekend starts tomorrow…
I still remember when tym was badmouthing YB on FA map chat when I was playing on my FA alt…
The answer is simple tym, FA lost a few guilds and YB gained a few, which made the matchup more even overall.
Bandwagoners leave because their side is no longer face rolling the opposition.
Fairweathers went back to PvE because their side is no longer face rolling the opposition.
So now the matchup is more in YB’s favour due to the numbers advantage. This brings more bandwagoners to YB and brings out all their fairweathers so they gain an even bigger numbers advantage.
Whatever your reasons are for leaving, whether you’re a bandwagoner or truly just wanted to play with your friend, people like you leave an already weak TZ in order to prop up the opposing server’s already strong TZ. Making things even more unbalanced, which then triggers more fairweathers/bandwagoners to leave.
Do we really want major changes though? Most will say yes..
Yes, yes, YES!
WvW at heart is a great concept, yet suffers from many major design flaws. Start with the central mechanic of the game, holding territory, offense and defense. Any decent sized zerg can cap a keep unopposed in just a couple minutes. And if your goal is to capture something, the best strategy is to “hit ‘em where they ain’t”. So, there’s a fundamental incentive to avoid fights, not engage them. And, if you want to defend you have to invest a lot of time and money doing all the boring busy work to prepare and waiting to be attacked. That’s fine if you’re an animated soldier from an RTS, but incredibly lame for a real person. The design should be naturally drawing opponents together to compete for points, not creating a rat race of PvD.
WvW could be, and should be, the crown jewel of GW2. And ANet hasn’t even explored ways to monetize it through the gem store. There are lots of opportunities for guild and wvw based cosmetics.
Since you mentioned preparing and wasting money(guess you mean in upgrades) I will point out that this will be changing. Some people don’t even like the idea of auto upgrading but will also point out that the idea probably came from the many threads of people complaining about others ordering troll upgrades to burn your supplies and also building troll siege to halt upgrades.
If people actually split up, scouted and reacted to call outs well there wouldn’t be as much PvD’ing as there is.. WvW has become zerg everything as far as I can see. Not by everyone but just go and attack something with 5 people and see what comes after you.
Thing is people call zergs for everything now a days. I know you have seen it yourself. Zerg at so and so tower and when you get there it is like 5 – 8 people.. If people actually made correct call outs smaller groups would probably react faster.
yeah, was running around with about 25 people on my T3 account the other day. Somebody called “INC” in all caps like 5 times in a row and it was literally 1 ranger watching from a cliff
Maybe Blackgate shouldn’t have resorted to push weeks/non push weeks to keep glicko balanced for the T1 servers, or “saved” JQ from collapsing last year if that’s what was going to happened if TW hadn’t moved over.
T1 is getting what they worked for, and deserves, to play by themselves.
P.S I’m sure FA would be happy to feed glicko to YB to push them to T1, now T1 has to decide who wants to drop.
Not only is FA happy to do it, they’ve already started doing it. I have friends on FA and they all tell me different variations of:
“YB wants to make a T1 push, FA wants YB out of the T2 matchup. The consensus amongst GLs is that we will take a break and let them”
you guys do realize that yesterday’s daily was to win as a mesmer right? That’s why you saw so many mesmers
eh, bad mesmers are still really easy to kill. Just because somebody is more skilled than you doesn’t mean the profession itself is op
Go to FA and help fight the SoS and YB blobs. Getting bags is more fun than killing NPCs
Nameplates are important. For me the main reason is that due to lag I’ve had to basically run my game on lowest settings while in WvW. If there are enough enemies around, the only thing I see are nameplates, since all the character models gets removed. If you remove nameplates, I’m basically blind. I am perfectly fine with not letting the enemy see your rank though
it’s the NPE. The WvW shortcut I think only works if you have at least 1 character above that level
It’s acc bound so you don’t need to have a char over lvl 30 you just need to have had one.
Isn’t that exactly what the other guy said, but with different wording? What was the point in quoting him?
I’ve seen plenty of really good Mesmer commanders. Just depends on the build they’re running and how smart they are. Generally the good ones I know can run multiple builds and their commanding build is completely different from their roaming build for obvious reasons. Mesmer commanders have the benefit of knowing exactly where and when they place their ports, veils etc.
I actually really like the gameplay they’ve shown of the DH, hence why I hate the name. Because I want to use the spec, yet don’t want people to call me that ridiculous name.
I heard that FA paid 80k gold to transfer IoJ people. Just a thing I heard. Not claiming it’s evidence.
Looking at GW2Spidy gem price history combined with the leaked details of conversations FA had with IoJ leadership during that time. FA was willing to fully pay for up to 35 players from IoJ. This equates to roughly 8.5-10k gold. A number that is well within the expected range and nowhere near the rumoured numbers.
