As a fellow sufferer I share your pain, however, I can offer some help.
1) War Machine – the text is wrong. You need the champion flame legion effigy in Plains of Ashford, he travels from Ignis Castrum to the Charr cenotaph (big statue of Pyre Fierceshot).
2) This one I recruited the community to help and used LFG to hop to maps where it was active. When I did manage to complete it it was night in-game in case that has any bearing.
I’m surprised you haven’t run into a problem with Kill Siegemaster Lormar as part of the Battle for Ascalon City chain, this took me some 70+ hours of camping in Plains of Ashford until I found it spawning.
Regards,
BdP
Well, I finally got the event, so it does at least exist…

Hope this is of some use to someone else trying to get this!

It lists the events, but not how to start them.
The first ‘Destroy the Ascalon statue’ event works, but neither of the trebuchet events or the ascalonian scholar statue events start. The meta is always ‘the ghost leaders have evaporated, leaving the ghosts leaderless for a time’ (or similar wording).
BdP
I’m trying to do this event so that I can complete my achievement for The Flameseeker Prophecies III: The Chosen (although I think it is needed for other legendary journeys).
I’ve spent over 5 days in this zone and earned in excess of 4million xp hanging around trying to do events to start the meta, but to no avail.
Has anyone completed this event recently (in the last 2 weeks)?
Can you remember what time of day it was (in-game (day/night) and in your time zone)?
Do you know the IP address of the map you completed it on?
Are you in EU or US?
Does anyone else have any idea what can cause the meta-chain to continue past ‘Destroy the Ascalonion Statue’ (the Warrior one in Human’s Lament)?

The Chosen
Still can’t get ‘Kill Siegemaster Lormar’ in Plains of Ashford to spawn. Tried multiple shards and different times of the day. The meta doesn’t seem to be up.
(So far I’ve camped in Plains of Ashford long enough to earn over 2mill xp and 2 stacks of the first tier dust killing ghosts).
Anyone know how to get the meta chain to start?
BdP
Hmm, well i’ve spent over an hour in plains of ashford trying to get either the 3 ghosts in the Barradin crypts to spawn, OR the kill siegemaster event.
The siegemaster chain appears to start OK with going to blow up the statue, but it gets followed by mortaring the remains of the wall rather than the ‘destroy the ghostly trebuchet’. Then the destroy the statue event starts again. What am I missing? Just luck, or is there a pre-condition that needs to be met that isn’t recorded anywhere?
Done today x3 and have the same problem. Mouseover description says ‘vision crystal’ and yet no vision crystal…
(and sorry I didn’t complete the story fast enough to not get slapped by the ‘bump warning’ – i’ll try to play through content much more quickly in future…)
I can confirm this having also made a similar mistake with the Colossus recipe…
I was in a map that failed Teq, so started mapping to Hirathi to try and catch Modnir Ulgoth and now I can’t log in.
Code=1083:5:7:1595:101
I was on 64bit client when we failed Teq, but can’t connect on either 64bit or 32bit now (to any of my characters)

Seriously, the story step called ‘The Concordia Incident’
Not long after they raised the wreck of the cruise ship the Costa Concordia which ran aground with the loss of 32 lives you release a game step called ‘The Concordia Incident’
Seems tasteless in the extreme…
I doubt an ‘official’ response will be forthcoming, and yes, I do believe it is ‘working as intended’.
When you apply dye to items the colour is changed to reflect the material that the item has been applied to. Metals dye differently to Leather, and both dye differently to Cloth. If you look at the ‘infobox’ on the wiki entry for ‘Midnight Fire Dye’ you will see that subtly different colours are generated depending on what the underlying material of the armour is. See http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Midnight_Fire_Dye and mouse-over the 3 squares in the info box. This will give you the ‘colour code’ in hex format for the colour. It’s format is XX YY ZZ for RGB values and the range is 00 00 00 (black) to FF FF FF (white). As you can see, the different materials (cloth, leather and metal) are dyed a slightly different colour when using the same dye, which is a lot more realistic.
Does it get you what you want, well, probably not.
Is it working as intended, I believe so.
Plus, if you’re concerned about ‘wasting’ your in game coins, you can always preview dyes direct from the TP now.
I’ve found a similar respawn rate bug in Sparkfly Fen. At the south gate of the Azintl grounds there is a group of undead/risen which respawn within 10-15s of being killed. (This was whilst the Azintl Holy Grounds were safe on Aurora Glade). I don’t know if it is related to the Tequetl spawns as I happened to be playing earlier when this was going on. The other issue is that some of the crafting NPC’s have been killed and cannot be res’d.
The other thing that seems to be happening generically across the server is that events are respawning much faster than I remember them previously, particularly in heavily populated zones like Wayfarer’s Foothills, where I was able to do the ‘Lionguard taking over Svanir’s Dome’ event chain on repeat.

Both of my accounts can’t log in atm.
EU Aurora Glade
EDIT: Logged one account in and the GW2.exe client immediately crashed to desktop…
Still can’t log the other account in on the laptop

A Veteran Karka has invaded the Pearl Island area in Southsun Cove and cannot be killed. His health goes down to approx 80% and then all conditions are removed from him and his health fully regenerates.
Is there a skill that the Vet has that allows him to re-absorb the young karka that I haven’t appreciated before, or is he just dis-obeying the game laws as I understand them.

I feel your pain having done nearly the same thing, however, I think you can sell the ‘spare’ manual on the trading post and recover a chunk of your money.
You might be doing it wrong. I thought this at first due to the explode and KD on using the patch, however, if you mouse-over skills 1-4 they do change very slightly in colour and also tell you what you’ve collected.
I only found one combination that worked however.
My party leader selected all the options to side with the whispers and progress to ‘The Blossom of Youth’ however, other members of the party were only given the opportunity to progress to ‘Secrets in the Earth’. We now have divergant story lines and cannot continue together.
Yes, I realise it’s only for one quest and we can probably team back up after that, but it is irritating as I’m now going to have to do both paths so we can play together.

Seriously, this place is giving me a massive headache. Not only is the fov being taken out of my control and zooming in and out in a nausea inducing manner, but invulnerable foes spawn on the ground and manage to hit you halfway through a jump.
Either one of these issues I could probably manage, but both is sadistic.
Also, i’m sure this has been done to death elsewhere, but why can foes decide they’re ‘invulnerable’ when being attacked by someone with superior positioning? And why do I get stuck in combat seemingly until I log out in some areas?
Gah….
back to it.
I also have this problem periodically. The only ‘definite’ fix I seem to have found is logging out completely and restarting the client.
So, something weird happened and after completing the clocktower I hit ‘travel’ to leave the overflow…
…and I was completely alone.
Believe it or not, it doesn’t actually make the puzzle any easier. I found it harder!
Has anyone else experienced this?
There is a workaround if you have a spare character slot. I created a new guardian with the shoulder armor, then transmuted it with a set of other shoulders. Banked the transmuted set and then retrieved them on my ‘main’ guardian.
Did a recent change make Merchants sell level-specific harvesting tools?

It seems that perhaps there is only a couple of bugged merchants (KooFoo and Grey Gritta’s) as I’ve just tried a third merchant (Wynchona) who is offerring me steel / Darksteel
Did a recent change make Merchants sell level-specific harvesting tools?

So, working on our map completion a guildie and I started to clear ‘Hirathi Hinterlands’ (Aurora Glade). I’m lvl 66 and she’s lvl 58. (this is important)
So, I run out of harvesting tools (as usual) and head over the the merchant who is offering me either Mithril or Orichalcum harvesting tools. This seems strange to me as the highest tier mats i’m aware of in the area are gold, so steel tools I thought were appropriate.
Guildie visits the same vendor and gets offered either Darksteel or Mithril gathering tools. Seemingly the only difference is our respective character levels. Map chat seemed to offer a consistant set of results, players were offered gathering tools appropriate to their level, rather than appropriate to the area. (One player did travel back to LA to check the vendor there, and noted they could buy the full range of tiers of harvesting tools – but probably spent more mapping to and fro than the difference in gathering tools)
Is this a bug? Or an unannounced and insidious attempt to take money out of my pocket?

I’m in total disagreement with the OP, and have not found my game experience mirrors his/hers in any way.
I craft on my warrior, and so far I’ve been fortunate enough to largely keep my crafting and character levelling at a similar pace.
Now, it’s entirely possible that I’m not playing in appropriate zones, but the completionist in me wants to get 100% completion as I go along, not backtrack at the end. Currently my warrior is lvl 54 (I think) and has about 220 armorsmithing. I am still wearing a set of ‘Rare’ armour I made which is suitable for a lvl 50+ and have yet to find it outlevelled by either random drops, boss-chest rewards or story rewards. OK, it looks absolutely terrible in its native form (hellooo heritage appearance), but so what, I’ll wear it for 5 levels and replace it with something (hopefully self-crafted) when I hit the break-point for self crafted armour.
I’m working on the assumption that the OP is aware that recipes for Rare level insignia can be bought from the Master Armorsmith? Or plays at such a pace that 5 levels only takes a matter of hours.
I haven’t found that the XP gain is enormously beneficial to my character xp level, and I suspect that Legendary weapons are going to be like all the rare skins in GW1 – something that other people have…
Am I unusual that in general accumulating cash is something that just happens until you don’t really know what to spend it on? Shortly before GW2 release I had achieved 50/50 and had accumulated way more money than I could spend on anything sensible. GW2 has only been out a month and I don’t have much cash yet, but assuming I’ll play it as much as I played GW1 I’m really not worrying about ‘accumulating digital wealth’.
