Regarding GW2: It has its issues, that much is certain. I haven’t played it for a week really, but I got like 272 hours in. Well worth the money I paid, even if I don’t play anymore (though I will eventually).

@Nerva: Awwww don’t have hate for PS2. I admit, its lacking on the whole ‘goal’ aspect but its a fun game still. They just need to make it more like PS1, as far as base/continent control is concerned. There were no ‘win’ conditions, but you were able to control entire continents.

They’ve already said they plan on getting rid of the footholds and giving each of the empires their own cont. Later on, I’d imagine the newer conts would be the neutral conts that you’d actually fight for control of.

Nice thing about PS2 is that they’re really listening to the community and making changes based off their suggestions, which I believe the OP tried to point out.

@Krosslite, you need to redo your math. That is NOT 180 gold. If I’m looking at it right, its more like 1.8 gold.

Kiting works fairly well, so does just getting a well timed drop (everyone at once).

I think that most of the people in this thread are whining idiots, but you aren’t any better. You’re crazy if you think that Guardian is or as been OP. Especially when it comes to PvP.

“Oh but they’re so tough to kill they just won’t die. Bunker build blah blah” I wanna know how many times you’ve been killed by a bunker build. If the answer is greater than 0, you should quit the game. Right now.

Guardians aren’t able to do the most damage (Warrior/Ele), can’t tank the most damage (Warrior easily), can’t attack from walls in WvW (unlike every other class), their support skills/healing is mediocre at best. Guardians really don’t have a particular niche. People who think they can tank ungodly amounts are crazy. With a defensive build, we can take a lot of hits, but so can a Warrior. You just never see defensive Warriors because EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has a greatsword.

As for the retaliation, that shouldn’t last indefinitely, its kinda unfair. But so are plenty of skills/effects that the other classes have.

I didn’t use a retaliation build because I foresaw a retaliation nerf coming a mile away. Quite like my shouts.

I really want to be able to use retreat and have a bunch of people freak out and retreat.

They don’t function like ranger pets in the sense that I don’t have the “return to me” type options (We have virtues instead there).

They do fight though, quite well too. Had 12 of them tearing up mobs way faster than I could.

Anet needs to quit playing favorites with the greatsword and give everyone else a legendary weapon.

Or how about make legendary weapons that actually feel legendary. Currently, the only ones that actually feel epic are the greatswords (which there are 3 of. Wtf is up with that?)

I haven’t gotten a rare for days. I’ve shoved probably 40 greens (so 10 runs) into the mystic forge and just gotten a green back out. I’ve also received no yellows from chests and loot. The only exception is that I occasionally got a dungeon specific rune/sigil that was yellow…in dungeons only, of course.

Was never having this much issue before. Quite annoying.

I can’t speak for the WvW crowd as I haven’t played it in a week (busy getting armor).

However, yesterday there were a few people in Blackgates’ Lions Arch ‘recruiting’ people for WvW.

And by recruiting, I mean telling everyone that doesn’t WvW to leave the server and to quit freeloading. Yep.

I love WvW, and during beta/early start I really liked the people in WvW. However, the name…‘beastgate’…ugh, its just asking to attract a bunch of immature high school kids.

(Note: There are plenty of mature high school students. But that name isn’t going to attract them).

I love rifleman, they punish ranged people for being kiting kittens (I typed kittens. I’m making kittens a swear word now).

No, because the lowest one that people run will instantly get 50 extra mobs thrown into it by the devs.

I love open world PvP, my only issue is the lore. The only factions that I know of which would fight one another would be the Humans and Charr. So you could make the lands that border the two nations open for PvP, but what of the other races?

Maybe the Asura could go to war on the Sylvari cause they want the uber ore under their tree (Avatar style).

The Norn would get drunk and be at war with everyone.

I really need those beetlerun tokens, pain to find a group though. When I do, they’re generally pugs that don’t do very well…

They are fine as is. They aren’t met to be strong armor, they’re for looks. Realistically, the stats the armor would have wouldn’t be the stats you’d want and you’d have to transmute the kitten thing anyway.

If you can afford T3 cultural, you can afford to buy some Exotic armor to transmute.

Think of it like this. You know how legendary weapons have a ‘base’ weapon? Well, consider the T3 cultural you buy the base ingredient. To make it ‘legendary’ (in the sense, obviously it’ll be exotic) you have to transmute it with an exotic.

The Gods don’t approve I guess.

Whos not going to buy from them? EVERYONE buys from them. They sell their goods to the TP, there’s no way of knowing if the person you’re buying from is a bot or not.

They are doing very little to stop the bots. Really, all thats necessary is one GM per server. Go to the farm locations in Orr. Botters are obvious. Start banning. Problem solved.

Supposedly, they’re doing group bannings where they collect a bunch of names and then ban them all at once. Its good because if you just ban people one at a time, botters will get scared and stop for a while. This way you get more of them.

The downside is, your playerbase suffers as the bots prosper.

I’ve severely limited by playtime in comparison to how much I was playing before. I might start playing more once this issue is solved. Until then, other games.

Warrior is easily #1. Does great in WvW and it can just spin kitten to death in PvE. Combined with quickness in PvP it annihilates everything before they can even heal.

Mesmer is pretty cool too when used right.

Guardian is good up close, ranged sucks though. Scepter is a joke.

I would imagine, however, that items do auto-scale to fit the body of the character. It just must not be scaling enough for that body type for whatever reason.

Like mantis said, I don’t mind a little clipping. But I see it a lot in this game. Example, my guys Draconic helmet has the cloth back sticking out going through the shield on my back. Looks terrible.

Nah man, rangers are great for dungeons. Healing spring, extremely high dps on mobs, spirit support, the elite heal/revive support, trap support, and more…

i just dont see how any of this helps when i get 2 hit by the majority of mobs

I’m a Guardian with exotic gear and traits that give me both toughness and health.

I get 2 shot’d by a lot of kitten. Generally anything bigger than an Elite. Elites take me down pretty kitten quick too.

They need to make waypoint costs zone specific. That way helping a noobie doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg.

I think the 4s are fine, but the 5s should be swapped.

Staff is great. Only weakpoint to it is #2.

Don’t want mounts. Besides, there aren’t horses in this game.

Only options for mounts would be Centaurs and Dolyak.

Only problem is its from a third party, not Amazon directly. Did you customize the one from xotics? Is the thermal paste or copper cooling upgrade needed/useful?

I didn’t do anything special with mine. Just bought it from them because they sold it cheaper than everyone else.

Asus using crummy thermal paste was an issue on my version, I’d hope they would have upgraded by now. Hard to say if its still an issue. I wouldn’t worry about it though.

Did CM Explore for the first time yesterday. Chose the butler route. Finished and got 60 tokens. After 20-30 minutes of getting a new group, we did the Seraph route. Took over an hour. Only got 45 tokens >.> First time I’ve ever ran that path. According to your patch notes, it should have been 60.

Not out of any preference really. They simply had the lowest price. The order didn’t have any problems getting to my house. I’ve never really had to deal with their support.

I would advise you to NOT buy ASUS laptops from Best Buy (or any laptop really). Best buy often sells ‘toned down’ versions of the same computer. They sell them for almost the same price but there’s a fair drop in hardware.

Buying from Best Buy is fine, but make sure the model is the same as what you research online. For example, mine is an Asus G73JH-A2. A G73JH-X3 might look similar, but it could be a total piece of kitten.

I’m using a G73JH-A2 and it works like a charm.

I don’t know if I have everything on max, but I have the important stuff on it (like character detail). Resolution is 1920 × 1080.

Regarding the guy who says laptops can’t handle the heat, you’re an idiot <3 You haven’t met the G73’s cooling system. As long as you blow out the dust bunnies every year the heat stays down.

I stopped gaming with laptops after burning one out and almost destroying another some years ago. Laptops, regardless of the manufacture, or what they might say, just cannot deal with the levels of internal heat generated when playing demanding games. The internal fans cannot move the volumes of air required for proper cooling.

Tell that to my 2+ year old laptop that I use to run graphically intense games on a daily basis.

I’m fine with this – as long as they drop the price on 1h weapons.
