How about letting us apply the skin cosmetics to any weight armor? That would expand options. Not all skins would mix and match well but there are plenty in the same weight class that don’t work together either.
Myself and multiple guildies are also getting this message. We have not opened our guild hall yet.
The Charr cultural armor still doesn’t fit all frames (and has been an issue since launch) so don’t be surprised if this is Just The Way It Is™.
The look of the new Lion’s Arch is good in general but it feels as if it has become more of a memorial city that you pass through than the central city of Tyria. Everything is sprawling, and there is only one area to craft, access TP and the bank (and it feels further apart). There are large open spaces that beg for something like a fair, festival, merchant stalls, Pact training center, water fountains that push you into the air, moa races…or something. Hope there will there be more additions with HoT or in the next few months.
Really enjoyed the karka hunting and the new JP
Suggestion: Those that prepurchase the game have access to the beta which will allow them to test new content and, if similar to prior beta testing, give them a test character slot. This test character slot would, in theory, go away with live, leaving those with full character lists with the option of buying a new slot ($10 USD), buying the more expensive editions, or just forgoing the new profession which they probably just finished beta testing. (sad)
As beta testing does offer virtual value, perhaps after so many set tasks/hours/events/feedback responses the ‘test’ character slot becomes permanent, though the actual toon may require reset throughout the beta process. Those that participate and help in beta get a character slot and some firsthand knowledge of the game and ANET gets more willing participants (I hope) and funding from preorders.
Should we go ahead and unlock all the utility skills for our profession using skill points? or will they be reset/revamped in HoT as well?
A lot of posts talk about ‘skill slots’ in the trait line but not on the button bar, so if I’ve missed the answer in the pile, the reference would be appreciated.
Thanks
It would be nice if we could have a portal from our home instance to the guild house. I don’t think the reverse would be possible since there are ‘home’ instances in every city, unless it automatically took you to your racial home instance.
Just so you know, not all cultural skins actually fit the race they were ‘designed’ for. Charr armors for females still don’t scale down to female frame. Of course most armors don’t do well with charr frames (known problem since forever) sigh
Affecting a few percent of a large number is still a large number….
Some guild leaders have to access well more than 500g/ DAY for various activity rewards or when guildies send funds to the leaders for auctions/fund raising activities to prep for HoT.
Does this mean guild hall related purchases and upgrades will be through the guild bank only and not require outside materials or funds?
Maybe the beta testers will have some insight they can share soon…gonna hit up my guildie who got an invite to take a look at traits when he can (though they may all be unlocked for beta)
I have a question about the ‘trait changes’ since my wallet is closed to anet until the system gets an overhaul…
If the trait changes affect everyone, wouldn’t it have to be independent of Heart of Thorns?
Or will it be like the NPE/trait system where only characters created after the new code is implemented get the trait change? (and if you don’t buy the expansion you are stuck with the old system or your characters made during the Trait 2.0 year are stuck with that)
Really would like some more concrete information (and I don’t mean cinder blocks thrown in this direction with ‘Trust me’ written on them)
I know this will probably go in the ignore section as well but this system needs an overhaul…badly. There are a number of excellent suggestions buried in this thread (thanks to everyone for that). I’m not saying it needs to be completely scrapped but for starters, the unlock requirements need resorted to be level appropriate and offer more than one way to unlock the trait (as suggested many times prior).
I had hoped to try engineer, necro and warrior but after my experience on my mesmer, I will not be buying any more character slots and no more gems with real money.
This trait system especially (and the NPE but that is a different thread) prevents me from recommending this game to friends at this time.
Charr female
Thief
Medium build
Wrangler helm cultural armor
The helm appears to be made for a larger (perhaps male) frame and floats about the head instead of conforming to the face.
Race: Charr
Profession: Thief
Gender: Female
Build: Medium
Issue: Wrangler Helm (tier 2 cultural helm) does not fit her face. It appears that the helm model assumes the character to be larger (or male) based on the spacing around the snout and the eyes.
Thanks
Just completed this step as well and noticed the same issue. I will bug the erroneous location in game as well.
Race: Charr
Gender: Female
Class: Thief
Her tail has a linear shadow (or perhaps underlying framing structure) that does not correspond with any equipment and obscures the fur texture. Looking back at other screen shots it was there but it seems more prominent since the last patch.
When in game hit the Esc key.
In the menu, there will be an icon of a lifering with Support.
Select Report. You will also have the option of taking a screenshot in your bug report.
Hope that helps
Please add the word ‘dye’ to the new dye colors so they can be more easily searched on the Trading post
Alternatively have a dye section in the trading post, maybe as an option under consumable.
Thanks
Charr
Female
Thief
Medium body type
Thanks for fixing the issues with weapons clipping the duelist set on female charr looks like the weapon rendering is a smidge further away from the body than it was, which may be causing some of the other comments on how far they seem to be away from narrower built armor sets, like Prowler.
The bottom of the Duelist coat still flares like it is made for a larger charr.
Prowler shoulders are floating on the female model (almost look like they are set for norn or large male charr)
Thanks
PS As there a lot of issues with the charr models, and it seems like a lot of changes are placeholders to correct the worst problems, will they be getting some extra attention soon? I’m betting you could get plenty of volunteers to go through armor sets systematically and give feedback.
One of the more frustrating aspects of the bounty hunt is when world events kick off in the middle of the bounty hunt and half of your teams end up in overflow.
If this is not fixed by the upcoming change in event looting, please consider giving priority to the locals, or removing those targets from the list near event times or giving three potential targets, two of which have to be killed in the prescribed time period.
Thanks
After watching mulitple guilds going after the same target and feeling territorial about it, perhaps a system where you have half an hour to get your targets would work a bit better. This would also relieve prescouting stress.
I like the concept of the target not spawning until the bounty is activated and actually having a massive scouring of the zone, but more time would be needed.
Charr female thief, unsure of body model medium I think
Using high level duelist chestpiece and sylvari cultural dagger and pistol, tier 3. I have tried other guns and daggers and all have the same issue with clipping. All of the side carried weapons clip through the chestpiece because the bottom part of it flares as if it is a larger framed individual wearing it. If the flare was decreased, I think the weapon clipping would be less as the chestpiece would lay closer to the body frame along the hips and leg.
I changed my colors to make the gaps more obvious. This is one of the few leather sets that look good on female charr. Please let me know if you need other angles.
Thanks
It has been corrected. If it was the GW team thanks. If it was just the fact that I stayed logged out long enough for it update the animations that is good too.
I transmuted a Medium Mask of the Infiltrator with the T2 Charr helm, Wrangler Helm, and got a hybrid helm with both animations. The mutated helm does not show up in my character screen only the Wrangler Helm, in game I have the hat animation and the mask animation. I wanted to save the mask animation. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Female Charr Thief
Cultural Tier 2 mask does not sit on the face properly and appears to be following the male snout profile.

I would like to be able to sort by whether a recipe is used in other recipes. Call them pantry items or something like that. It helps when working on discoveries to have the base items available and to make the higher level cooking material, especially initially.
Also is there any chance of sorting by benefit (power, vitality, karma, magic find, might, etc)
Thanks
PS I think this crafting skill a lot of fun to level.
Personally I find the thief downed skills frustrating in PVE. If you teleport and then smoke bomb it is likely by the time that you come out of steath(2s) the mob is still in range to aggro on you again or you can teleport into the other aggressive mobs. Same with the alternate
Also if more than one mob is hitting you the stealth may not affect all of the mobs, the main monster attacking you loses interest but the others may not.
Maybe they could make it so if you put someone on ignore, you don’t hear their vocalizations or see their output. No idea if this is even possible but it would be nice for more than just choir bells.
In many MMO’s I have played there was an option to create a private channel that other players could join if they had the name of the channel. Some games allowed a password on the channel, some didn’t.
This was often used to coordinate cross guild activities or specific roles in PvP (defending vs offensive).
I did not play GW1 but this might be a stop gap for the loss of alliance functionality
This has been an appreciated feature in many of the MMO’s I’ve played. If someone has found a trait/weapon/armor combo that they love and will never change, that is awesome and they don’t have to worry about multiple builds. For those of us that are still learning and/or like to experiment this feature offers an appreciated convenience.
I don’t mind having to pay, karma or coin, to reset traits but it would be nice to save builds that fit my playstyle and switch without needing to lose game time with the trainer. Maybe they could offer a purchasable option in the gem store that opens up multiple build slots as well.
Anyway I like the suggestion.
Hello Folks , can I ask something ?
I want to buy gems using my credit card .. but can I have an idea
how much it cost ?like $4.00 = for 100 gems .. like that

Hope this helps.
Perhaps a cape/cloak could be used in town? or as part of town clothing?
I am new to this system but was attracted to it by the thought of a limited gear grind ( I’m burnt out from other games and was about to cancel those subs and invest in this one instead when the new event hit.)
I do not understand why exotics were not kept equivalent with ascended and legendary gear The ascended gear could have the different look and I guess the infusion mechanic if there was a desire to have something else to balance.
Personally I would have liked gear that had a slot where you could add interesting effects (lightning, fire aura, shadow, blowing leaves, etc).
Watch and wait I guess.
I second that request. It helps figure out what upgrades are available/resources are purchasable and how much it will cost to use the nearby waypoints. The wiki is nice but I hate the tabbing back and forth.
I’m still not sure if I like the multi guild system but a few things to consider. If you are in a guild and see a huge list of ‘members’ not representing or logged on, psychologically it is a slap in the face. Even more depressing to the rank and file is seeing guild officers in representing another guild.
So, if you have multiple toons, some of which aren’t in a guild, I don’t think it is anyone’s business that you are online and not representing. If you aren’t representing you should not be visible on the guild list. If I care about someone that much they will be on my friends list. Someone may have a RP character in one guild, a PvP character in another, or just want to have a toon to hide on.
I do think that guild leaders should be able to see when characters or accounts last represented and perhaps how long in the last week, so they can clean house as needed.
Beyond guild policies that state, everyone needs to represent x hours a week or on Fridays, there is little to be done to ‘force’ people to represent. Maybe they can code a Single pledge guild vs a Multi pledge guild option sometime in the future.
Here is the thread from the Discussion forum some of the brainstorming that has been done about the same issue.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Almost-all-zones-are-dead-Solution/first
Add a monthly that gives you credit for specifically participating in events in lower level zones
Add a personal, duo or small group ‘event’ that can be activated by questing in lower level zones. Collect x, y, and z from different zones, combine them and then be able to fight an undead boss for example.
Most of the time I rush home, get dinner, start playing a bit, almost get the daily done and then it resets ( 8pm EDT), start it again and have gotten the equivalent of the daily achievement before logging for bed but because the reset is in the middle of my prime playing time I get no credit. Yes it could be completed the next evening before reset if the stars align and I don’t have to work late the next day.
Perhaps we could choose when to have our ‘day’ reset, 10 pm EDT would work well in my world but not for those on the west coast, otherwise rolling dailies to the next day would be appreciated.
Thanks
PS With the end of daylight savings time it looks like daily reset will be 4pm PST (7pm PST) starting tomorrow.
Thanks
Gearing in this game is much different from many MMO’s I’ve played in the past. It appears that gear requirement is determined more by the zones you are playing than your actual character level due to the downranking system. To get the mats for the crafting levels, the game seems designed to encourage exploring multiple appropriate level zones before moving on (also the personal stories take you across the map).
For example if you decide to get all the skill points in the starting areas your actual level may be 25 by the time you are done but you only need gear to level 15 and you will still get some drops that are within a few levels of your actual levels, have access to karma gear and the TP and have accumulated mats to craft zone appropriate gear.
Personally I would prefer an account bound system as the rumor is that there are over 400 dyes. Technically one can easily buy specific dyes but I have noticed that black on one texture looks grey on another for example or the shade isn’t quite what you thought it would be. This is a visually intensive game so sometimes you just want to try a color for the fun of it and realize you have the color on one character but not the other.
Or maybe make account bound or transfer a purchaseable option for those that have less time for such a fun game than we would like.
Some thoughts:
It seems that there many stats that characters need to choose from, if all three armor types (and crafting skills) are kept and everyone is allowed to use all armors, then the stats on armor may need to be scaled. For example, cloth has the most power/healing, leather has the most condition/precision and plate has the most toughness/vitality. Each craft would still have some armor with a variety of stats as well. This would allow for balancing based on play preference and I think it would allow the maintenance of the current crafting system.
Balancing the looks of these armors together might make the design team take up drinking though.
When downed, please give us the option to prevent targeting monsters that are not already aggressive (I have tried using some of the attack options provided in the menus but they do not seem to apply to the downed state)
I have noticed many times that my single attacks will randomly hit another monster in range, usually well out of aggro range, but not currently aggressive.
Target locking in the downed state seems ineffective. Even if I have the mob with the least health selected it will randomly switch to hit something else in range.
All those bags that carry the loot should be salvagable for leather and cloth after we empty them.
Here is to a more environmentally friendly crafting policy.
Reduce, reuse, recycle
Option for notification of friends/guildmates logging in or out.
It would be nice to get information by actual level, guild affiliation, race or zone especially when you are trying to find a guild to join or players that might be interested in the same objectives…
also it would let you know a bit more about the local trolls…if you don’t already have them on ignore.
