I liked the ghost, RIP ghost, you will be missed.

Poor guy. I wonder if he’ll be able to find new employment.

Hold on a sec! On the one hand you will nerf the players abillity to revive downed allies, but on the other hand you buff a gemstore item for reviving people? Am I the only one, who thinks, that’s a bit fishy? Split the reviving changes wise for PvP and PvE with the planned Update please.

No, you’re mistaken. The thread you linked is about toning down revive in PvP only, with a dev comment discussing a change specifically/solely for PvP… And, Revive Orbs don’t work in PvP, they’re PvE items only.

Hello fellow Tyrians,

The Ring of Fire content update is going to bring an update to Revive Orbs as well and I’m here to give you a sneak peek into the changes that you can expect. We’ve heard your feedback on the current design of Revive Orb and Revive Sickness: health comes back too low, it applies cripple to you, and its cumbersome to use.

The new Revive Orb functionality is intended to address some of these concerns head on while keeping the item well balanced with the gameplay.

• Revive Sickness has been updated to be more in line with other forms of revival. The orb will return you to 50% of your health pool instead of previous 1 health point.  You no longer are crippled but are locked in combat state for 60 seconds and cannot use another orb while under Revive Sickness.
• When defeated, if you have an orb in inventory, you will receive a UI option to ‘Consume a Revive Orb’ alongside the usual “Return to Waypoint” option.
• We’ve replaced the Ghostly Caretaker with an orb vortex that circles above your body and fills in for the 10 seconds it takes for the revival to complete.

All previous existing Revive Orbs will automatically be updated to reflect these changes. This item remains unavailable in WvW, PvP, and Raids content. Whether you use it in Central Tyria, Heart of Maguuma, or even Ember Bay, we hope you will be pleased with the new Revive Orb.

Thank you and we’ll see you in the game.

Seconding this. Almost all colors are returning item ids that are invalid when passed to the items api.

Hello, I’m working with API:2/colors and when I want to get the item that unlocks a color the system returns an error about item not found.
I have tested the https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/colors/10 that is on wiki as example and the item id is different: on wiki is 20370 (the right one) while from api is 65149 (absolutly wrong).
Seems that almost all the colors now have a wrong item id!

I don’t think I made the fix in time for tomorrow’s release, but it should be in the one after that. Here’s the tracking issue.

A Message About the Infraction System

in News and Announcements

The infraction system is a simple system. Infractions that do not include points (known as zero-point infractions) serve as friendly reminders to follow the Code of Conduct you agreed to abide by when your account was created. Infractions with points are more serious and start a tally on your account. When that tally reaches a certain threshold of points, a suspension is given. Higher number plateaus result in suspensions of ever-increasing durations, eventually resulting in a permanent ban from the forums. With the exception of banned accounts, infraction points eventually expire.

There are a number of reasons we do not list out every detail about the infraction system we have. The main reason is that such knowledge could be used to manipulate the system. Players could abuse their fellow players for X amount of posts and then stop to wait until an infraction point on their account expired before they started in again. Using this manner, a person could avoid any real punishment.

The other reason ties into why we don’t allow discussion of moderation on the forums, even when the originating request of such a discussion is a genuine desire for knowledge. Believe it or not, some players would use it as bragging rights. Players would push the system to the edge to ensure they got to behave however they wished without facing any consequences. This simply will not be allowed to happen.

Rest assured though, it takes far more than a single minor infraction to result in a temporary suspension. It takes even more to have your forum privileges permanently revoked!

So how do you avoid getting infractions? It’s pretty simple really. Be sure to review the Code of Conduct and follow those rules. If someone violates those rules, rather than doing the same and getting yourself into trouble, simply report the post or thread in question so the Community team can investigate it.

It really is as simple as that! If you have any questions or concerns about any forum moderation action taken, please send an email to forums@arena.net.

Thanks!

Canker Bush XL, I wanted to let you know that your glorious post made me end months of lurking on the forums, log in and post. Thanks, it was a highly entertaining read! Water combat can be hilarious at times; it’s a shame most people seem to hate it.

On topic: a recent wow moment for me was logging into Dry Top for the first time. The arid vistas juxtaposed with the verdant oasis, and the sandstorm mechanic, just blew me away. I’ve always been a huge fan of the world building and art direction in this game (whatever its other faults), and I was super impressed by these new maps. The Silverwastes have been just as awesome.

Zephyr airship = Kiel's doing?

If we’re drawing up a suspect list, I’d like to remind everyone that there is a Sylvari dashing about on the Sanctum right now, very eager to travel with them, and babbling that it’s the beginning of “great things” for him.

We also have a shady NPC named Carden, who keeps trying to sell…something…and failing because whatever it is alarms his would-be customers (“I know where you got that, and I don’t want any trouble with those people!”).

I’m still trying to determine whether these two had such dialogue during the original Bazaar, or if it was added this year. But certainly it’s interesting.

I’m thinking that the Zephyrites are now regretting their involvement with Ellen Kiel. Think about it, who was responsible for Lion’s Arch being destroyed? Kiel. Now who was responsible for organizing the trade agreement, only to have the cargo filled with explosives? Kiel. Who benefits from the money raised by the Zephyrites to rebuild LA? Kiel.

It all makes sense now. Ellen Kiel conspired to have Lion’s Arch destroyed, because she knew the good hearted nature of the Zephyrites would provide assistance in a time of need. Now that all the money was transferred to the Captain’s Council, she had no further need for them, so she blew up the airship, ala the Consortium ship in Southsun Cove’s LS.

What we need now is a true leader to save the day. We need Evon Gnashblade more than ever to help rescue the only means we have of traveling to Cantha.

#TeamGnashblade, we must gather to fight this new enemy! Our time is NOW!

The tab target nearest enemy part made me laugh. It’s been my pet peeve since original GW and the same (bad) targeting got baked into GW2’s engine.

Just today, was fighting the mob of Svanir near the chest in Wayfarer with about six of them directly in front of me. Pressed Tab and target selected was the furthest away on the opposite side of the clearing.

This target mis-selection happens so often, my gf is tired of hearing me say it.
My point is that this can go wrong as advice to new players who find out it doesn’t work as advertised.

Guilt Wars Too

I’ve been reading posts on the forums since the Guild Wars 2 went live and wasn’t surprised by all the negativity, as it seems to be the (un)natural course MMO forums seem to take.
Some of the topics warrant the concerned tone, such as profession balance, exploits, gold sellers and server transfers, but it’s the self-centric and aggressive manner in which it’s delivered that turns me off. Demoralizing the development staff and fellow players by threatening to quit, making biased comparisons to other games or outright name calling will garner nothing for an otherwise great community.

Guild Wars 2 is still in its infancy, and so is still learning to walk; expecting it to run and leap hurdles is asking too much. Your comments and suggestions are in a way teaching the infant how to walk, so please be kind and gentle; you’ll get better results in the end by not screaming and kicking the baby

I’ve been out of the MMO scene for a number of years, mostly because my life is getting too busy to spend much time in a community based game, but also because I have not found anything worth playing for too long. My first “addiction” was Everquest and I compare all others to it, but not in the game dynamics, graphics, pvp, character balance or other such technical things, but in the amazing community in the early days of the game. I still get pangs in my heart when I think about how everyone used to sell their goods in the EC tunnel or battling my first Sand Giant with a group of strangers or even the pvp fights which resulted in friends coming to your aid; such a great community back then. Guild Wars 2 has this potential, but with everyone bringing their negativity to the forums and then into the game saddens me, and I wonder why and how did MMOs begin to attract such antisocial behavior and self-centric game technicians who see the pixels but not the beautiful landscape.

My parents never bight us copious amount of toys growing up, it was mostly hand-me-downs from cousins and such, but man, did we love those toys, broken and otherwise. Little plastic soldiers with bent guns and no heads, hotwheels cars with no tires or even miniature train set with no tracks were loved by my brother and I. We would bring them outside to play with and our friends would come over with their shiny new toys, but we didn’t care, were happy and heel to have what we had. I think this sentiment is missing when people espouse that they spent X amount of dollars for this game and expect it to be exactly how they want it … they’ve forgotten how to be happy with what they have.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t expect the game to change or evolve to become a more polished and enjoyable experience, but man, give it some time! Step back, enjoy what you have now, but voice your opinion in a constructive manner that will advocate a positive change in the future.

Thank you ArenaNet for bringing me back into an enjoyable MMO and thank you for all your hard work in developing the game and for the future potential I look forward to experiencing.

I do expect to get flamed, but if this post gives pause to even one negative player, I’ll be happy.

BTW, I play a Ranger… We need some love
