Hey everyone,
I’ve finally gotten my revenant to the jungle and I’m wondering what the optimal build is for the jungle. Metabattle’s build is for dungeons and Obal’s seems to be more focused on fractals. I’d appreciate it if you could post your build in a link below. Thanks.
Human male ftw. Have you ever heard anyone say “Oh, it’s too bad this armor clips/looks terrible on human.”
Maybe we could get a trait that makes it so that allies cannot remove conditions from you while in Demon Stance. It fixes the original problem, allowing us to have the original Mallyx. And if the player decides that he has way too many conditions to handle, s/he can switch to another legend, allowing conditions to once again be removable by friendly healers.
I haven’t been keeping up much with Mallyx, but all I know is that he was nerfed in BWE3 because of the tension between people who remove condis and Mallyx users. Like I said, I haven’t been keeping up, so I don’t know if this would work or not, but why not just create a boon that you get for being in Demon stance that says [Conditions cannot be ripped from you by allies.] or something. I love the color scheme and general idea of Mallyx so I would like to see it viable again.
I agree with OP. Before xpac launch, Roy was always here to answer any questions we had. Now he’s about as quiet as all the other devs. I get that he is obviously very busy, but it would be nice if he could give us his opinion or something.
Don’t get rid of the hand glow. The point of the Revenant is to be a knight who uses magic. If you don’t want to see glowing effects or magic, play a warrior.
Well, after some testing in BWE3, I think I’ve decided on a human. I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of the animations on an Asura since they are so small, and the Norn just feel like some really buff guy is “trying” to be a ninja. The humans just seem like the perfect fit. Not too slow. Not too fast. Decent armor. No clipping. Thank you all for your posts.
I think Revenant seems pretty smooth now. The only suggestions I can give are just cosmetic suggestions. Maybe some more dialogue from the Legends, other than just “HGRRRRRRRRAHHHH!” and the occasional sentence. Also, staves still clip through the ground and through the ears of an Asura when idle. Hopefully that will one day get fixed.
Hi Dark Saint,
I am currently considering joining your guild. Since you aren’t on at the time I’m posting this, I’ll just ask these questions here.
How many players are generally on at a time?
Since I’m busy with school I may be offline for a few days at a time. Is that okay?
I’m kind of a noob as well. Are you guys noob-friendly?
Hi everyone.
I’m really excited for the HoT and more specifically, the Revenant. The problem is that I cannot pick a race for it. I know that there is another post a few threads down similar to this one, but none of those answers are really “pushing me over the fence.” I don’t really want to make a Sylvari or a Charr because I’ve already made a good amount of those.
This leaves me with the Asura, Humans, and the Norn. I would be instantly making an asura Revenant if it weren’t for the fact that staves always clip through their ears and through the ground. It bugs me just too much. I am sort of leaning towards making a human because they are all around good (no clipping, don’t feel too slow, really nice t3 armor), but they just seem kind of bland. I like the norn but they feel sluggish and the only armor that I really like is their t3.
In short, can anyone reply with some good reasons why one race is better than the rest so I can end this debate with myself? Thanks.
Edit: I should also mention that I plan to make my revenant a male.

I’m so glad to see this post. I actually feel bad now about my previous posts now. It’s nice to see that ArenaNet cares for their community. I’ll be getting the pre-order as soon as possible!

This needs to stay on the top of the forums for as long as possible. Just like the Engi Forum’s Hobosack thread.

I agree with this completely. I know a few guildies who already pre-ordered, but I know a few others who haven’t and aren’t even planning to. Until this changes, my money stays with me.

To clarify: $50 is the price of the expansion. We included the core game as a free bonus to make it easier for new players to get into it.
also, i’m fine with the “make it easier for new players to get into it” . but what about the existing players ? why not just make another option of “xpac only edition” for the existing players ? it wouldn’t be so hard to add just one more pre-purchase option would it ?
I second this. ANet would get even more money by doing this because all the players who have the game but don’t even have enough money to consider buying the $50 expansion would buy an “xpac only edition”, which would hopefully be cheaper.

I’d still be pretty upset, but not nearly as mad. Maybe if they threw in some stuff, like character slots or gems.

So not only have you changed the text on the FAQ page (check other forum threads), but now we have to pay another $50? Let’s say I already have the game and I bought it for the normal price (I believe is $50 as well). Now I have to buy the expansion for the same price as the core game. This totals up to $100. But for the players who buy the game after the expansion? They pay only $50 for the expansion AND the game. This actually annoys me. If we already have the game, we should get a free character slot or some gems. Something to make it fair. I really hope you think this through, ANet.
