I am not happy that Chronomancer was butchered lorewise, so can we get new elite specializations now? Not only we do not feel as time manipulators anymore (We did at launch) as we feel like simple plain mesmers instead. Most things about it are useless, slow is useless, wells in pvp are useless and now alacrity has been given away to Revenants? How is it related to Revenants at all? It’s hard to take this game seriously anymore. You said it was supposed to be unique to us. Liars.

The map is beautiful, but the story… The story was awesome! I honestly didn’t expect it to be that good. I’m positively well surprised. You are on the right track with writing entertaining stories. I was really amazed + Anise is my favourite character, I was very happy to finally see her in action.

Am I the only one who finds it weird, that Marjory is running all happy by herself, while we haven’t seen Kas since Heart of Thorns? I hope she returns soon, she is my fav from DE 2.0.

I hope the male version will be sexy and at least a little revealing. If it’s another robe, I’ll pass.

What are you talking about? Did you see those wells now? The clocks are still small, nothing near the way they were at the launch of HoT. They should have the same size Gravity Well has.

Is it just me or this game is a total mess? Did they delete it, because it was too much “visual noise” or is it a bug? I want my grenade kit back in my hand. This looks silly.

I was so excited for Heart of Thorns, but now I miss the game before the expansion. This balance ruined my favourite class totally – The mesmer. It’s the one I played for more than 2 years. Before the expansion I was ok, at least in pvp. After the Hot came out I was finally fine in pve as well. I felt finally viable and wanted. Now I’m useless everywhere and nobody wants to play with me. It’s not fair that you nerfed one aspect of the Chronomancer without buffing the other. I love you my sweet Anet, but I can’t bring to play my beloved class anymore. It’s only good for jumping puzzles and afking now. The game is pure chaos. This balance destroyed my favourite class, the visual aspects of the game got destroyed as well. I’d switch to elementalist if he would actually cast fireballs instead of nothing, because that thing is barely visible. Scepter changes didn’t change anything for the ele. Shatterstone looks ugly and fake, cause the sound is delayed and the animation itself is simply just speeded up, which looks bad. I thought you are more creative and competent my sweet Anet and not amateurs.

I haven’t thought about it in details yet, but I have some ideas for the usage of possible, new weapons.

Elementalist: Sword

We’ve seen weapons being used in a creative way, like ranged greatswords and hammers. I thought that maybe an elementalist could use a sword as a ranged, casting weapon with powerful spells, calling down lightning from the sky to charge the sword and gain might for example. Imagine how versatile an elementalist could be with a sword. One time they slash you with heated blade applying burning and the second time they blast lightning from it being far away from the enemy. I’d like to avoid turning the ele into a second mesmer though. I still think elementalist should mostly rely on their elemental magic instead of sword swinging.

Mesmer: Enchanter with MH focus.

I always pictured mesmers as seductive, deceptive and charming enchanters. Mostly every major mesmer npc in the game has a lover and they are usually very eloquent when they open their mouths. What if mesmers could get a focus MH and set of utility skills allowing to manipulate their enemies more? Turning powers of the enemies against them in more reliable way than reflecting projectiles.

My second thought was of course a MH pistol as a high dps weapon. Pistols in the game are usually condition based, so it would be another, interesting turn of the tide for a mesmer to use a pistol with raw power. That would also fit the already available OH pistol. It’s my second idea for a reason though. I would be a little afraid it could turn boring, if the mesmer would only shoot magical bullets on every skill with different effects. Focus would allow to create much more impressive visuals and techniques in my opinion.

When I was looking up GW2 2 years ago on youtube before buying it, I wanted to see how awesome skills look, especially magical spells. I fell in love when I first saw the elementalist and mesmer. Now what? It seems the game is going back in time to graphics from the 90s. Many of the new possible clients won’t even consider buying this game after they will see how the spells look…

I’d wish for the visual nerfs to be reverted.

It’s so sad. I payed so much money to play a game with skill animations from the 90s. I feel deceived.

I never had any trouble seeing what my enemy is doing through any of the skills, because all you need for that is eyes.

I fear it will only become worse. Imagine what they could do to Chaos Storm, Meteor Shower, Lava Font… Soon we will end up in GW1 all of a sudden.

I’ve been told that it’s best to contact Anet via support. Maybe we should start writing them messages through that, but please keep it polite. Say what bugs you in recent changes and propose that famous idea of an animation slider, that would make everyone happy.

I think they do not get that most of the player base don’t care about e-sports and just want to have fun with friends. And what is there to watch? All the beautiful animations are dying. There’s nothing to watch.

I have always thought that skill effects and animations were not good enough in this game compared to magical flashy Korean grinders, and the nerf to fireball, mesmer wells and now even auras is beyond my understanding. The game looks outdated enough on high-resolution screens already because of the ancient engine — why make it look even worse?

Exactly. I always thought for example that Elementalist’s Lighting Strike should be updated to a new animation, because it always looked really crappy visually. Now I lost hope and they will propably make it even more crappy and barely visible, because they want to destroy the beauty of the game for no reason.

WTF!!! Do they really think someone will take this game seriously, when all the effects look like from 90s?! Any new player that joins for free to see the game won’t even think about buying it. I wouldn’t if I saw visual effects like that in 2015. Not worth the price. It’s hard to enjoy the game now. I really start to consider switching to a better looking game, even though my heart breaks, as I really do love GW2.

What the hell? Why are you destroying the beauty of this game? Fireball looks like a joke. Eruption looks like a joke. What’s the point in this? And what about the sound? I love the sound of skills and I like to feel that what I do is actually VISIBLE to everyone. I thought you should focus on updating the animations… Elementalist’s lightning still looks like it was taken from a 1999 game, which is pathetic. Maybe it will be better if no one will have any sound or animations and we will only see numbers on screen? <sarcasm off> It’s sad to see this game getting destroyed. I don’t see any reason why there should not be an option for someone to lower animations only for himself if it bothers someone so much, like every good game has. And as for me, I love the visuals in this game.

I play mostly male characters. My main is supposed to resemble at least a little me in game, I’m too egocentric to main someone I can’t relate to, but since I’m gay, I prefer to toy with a man’s appearance overall, so I kind of understand straight guys playing girls.
I’m glad that males are starting to get much more interesting clothing options… Daydreamer’s Finery outfit is perfect.

I am waiting for Anise’s outfit for more than a month now. I’m sad.

Well, these are not exactly Anise’s clothes, only the shoes and corset are the same, still it’s very “Anise like”.

Anyone can predict when it will hit the gemstore? I was waiting for this armor/outfit for 2 years and I can’t wait any longer. I just can’t. I need to wear it already. I never gave up hope… In these 2 years that it will finally become available.
It’s not the exact copy of what Anise is wearing, I guess no one knows the official name of it yet. When I bought the game and created my first male human mesmer and saw Anise in the opening cutscene I was like “OMG, how beautiful her armor looks! Maybe I should create a female mesmer instead?” And then… My dreams were crushed. xD
Anise’s version is more elegant, but I think the corset is truly a piece of art.

Yes… I’ve been begging for this armor for over a year now or more so. I wouldn’t mind it as an outfit as well. Altough I prefer the version Countess Anise is wearing. I would pay even 2000 gems for this.

I don’t agree, because you will need to buy the expansion to get Tengu in the first place. New players if they’re smart, won’t buy the expansion before the base game, because I suppose it won’t work anyway. It sounds like you deny the game a touch of progress simply because new players will be confused. Tengu would appear in a expansion, so it’ll be obvious and very natural that their personal story would take place further in the lore than the base game did. This is what people call expansion, which means expanding all the game had to offer until now.

No there is no evidence, but it’s a possibility. I don’t see why any other race should be added now and if they won’t be adding new races with new dragons, then when? This game is already boring without any freshness. “The Tengu Wall” track was added to Maguuma few months ago. There is a minipet called “Tsuru Whitewind”, it still could be just a simple name for a minipet, but also could be a hint as there is not a Tengu with that name in the game yet. And most of all Tengu was a candidate for a playable race before launch and maybe they already had them done, who knows. Otherwise you people are overly sceptic or just afraid of having a new non-boring race in your game among your human clones.
I don’t blame you with being sceptic though. I didn’t mind living story content, I love lore and it was free, but if I’ll need to pay for HoT, simple lore isn’t worth the money.

So… To be clear. I know no one ever announced Tengu will become playable in Heart of Thorns (Whatever that is actually), but I think if it’s going to be an expansion, releasing Tengu as a new playable race is quite logical. Everybody is asking for Tengu since launch and now that Mordremoth is rising, Tengu might be forced to leave their walls to face this new threat that appears to be… Quite near them. They would be affected by it somehow and I don’t see their little walls being strong enough to hold off a dragon. Beside that, everybody is already so hyped about this possibility that not releasing Tengu is a shot in the foot. People will eat Anet in the forums and I think they know that. xD

So back to the question. What profession will your Tengu be? I was thinking about making a Phoenix inspired Tengu as an elementalist.

Statement of my mesmer.

Oh my… Can’t believe I’m doing this.

- I’m in this game for 1,5 year now and all I have is a male human mesmer. I deleted everyone else.
- I leveled a mesmer to 80 at least 6 times and deleted it, because I wanted something different. Another mesmer.
- I’m in love with mesmers. Can’t play anything else for longer than 1 hour.
- I have venetian masks all over my room and I love to wear them pretending I’m a mesmer.
- In pvp, I flirt with every thief in the enemy team and ask them to be gentle with me. Then I catch them off guard and down with one shatter.
- Countess Anise is my hero, thus I flirt left and right with everyone I meet.
- I call my team mates in pvp “little bubbles”.
- If I’d ever find myself in The Grove, I would kiss every male sylvari I see.
- Whenever someone insults me in pvp, I hunt them down for the rest of the match, even though it’s not good for my team, but I must admit, vengeance makes me play better.
- I really enjoy killing human females in pvp, because straight male insecurity is annoying.
- I used to create a character, use a make-over kit on it and then delete it.

Is it just me or EVERY mesmer somehow important to the story in the game is/was in a relationship with someone? Let’s check:

Jennah has Logan.
Vassar has(had) his elementalist Ralena.
Kasmeer has Marjory.
Faolain has(had) Caithe.
Countess Anise… Well, she has entire Divinity’s Reach. Everyone wants a piece of her. She’s flirting left and right with everyone. Maybe she got bored of all these DR fanboys and that’s why she took Canach for herself.
Even Ysvelta, mesmer from sylvari personal story + knight Tiachren.

Does someone beside me find this a little fascinating? Everyone has hots for mesmers. Is there any lore behind it?
Now when I think of it… Maybe that’s why Trahearne wants to be constantly alone with my male sylvari mesmer… But I don’t mind, he’s kinda cute.

The armor clipping due to mix-match could be solved by releasing these two armors as outfits. They could make a package of NPCs outfits for 1000 gems or so.
One thing is making me wonder though. I think that it is wide known that many people would buy Anise’s armor from gemstore in a heartbeat. Anet could earn so much from this and they still don’t do that, even though the forum is full of various Anise’s armor topics. Either way they do not pay attention do the forum or something deeper is behind it.

So… In skyrim we can dress in her armor while we can’t do it in the original game it comes from? Shame. Oh and title is supposed to be ironically funny. We can dress as almost every major npc in the game (Destiny’s Edge, Kasmeer, Marjory etc.) Anise just got a bigger role now, thus I think we deserve to be able to look like her too and I’ve been pleading for this armor for a year now. This justifies the impatience in the title. xD

I could give even 2000 gems for this armor/outfit actually.
