Am I the only one who desperately wants this armor? It is truly a magnificent armor. It’s such a shame for it to be wasted. Countess Anise is wearing a slightly different version of it and I like her ones better, but this one is awesome as well. Why can’t we have it? We can already dress like all members of Destiny’s Edge, so I think it’s not about Anise’s uniqueness. To be honest, I like Anise a lot more than DE despite her small role and would like to wear her clothes, but above of all, I would like to wear something elegant and this armor is an essence of elegance. I just felt that this needs its own support thread, so if anyone of you reading this would also like for this armor to become available to players, don’t ignore it and let everyone know that you want it. Discuss wether it should become available or not.
Make a sylvari or human ele, they are best. charr spellcasters are just disgusting, charr necro especially have rly creepy animations. Imo charr are meant for guardian/warrior, human on other hand is a race that looks good in any class
Humans are the most boring race for me and look way too plastic. That’s more disgusting than a charr spellcaster if you ask me. :P I want to stand out from the human epidemic a little as well. The only thing that could make me consider a human is if the armor of Countess Anise was released, but I don’t see that coming, so I consider other races a lot more. The worst thing about humans is that it’s almost impossible to look different. No matter how you’ll edit his/her face, you’ll still have clones all over the game unless you’ll make a total monster. That’s depressing.
I haven’t been through asura story line yet, so that’s definitely a lure, but having a charr as an elemental mage seems appealing as well. I shall wait for more responses, if there’ll be some.
Hello everyone. I hope you will help me. I have a hard time deciding on whom I want as my elementalist.
All I know is that I do not want a human or a norn for my elementalist. There are too many humans in this game and while norns are… Just no. I played a human mesmer for a year and I switched to my beautiful male sylvari, because I did not want to die of boredom with my human. I also like to feel a little bit more unique by nature. The only thing that could keep me with a human is if Countess Anise’s armor became available. I would wear it until the end of time. xD I simply prefer more elegant ladies like Anise or Lana del Rey and that’s hard to accomplish in this game. It leaves a charr, an asura and another sylvari then, though the con for a sylvari is that I already have one and he’s special to me. So here are my questions:
Which from these three would you choose? And if you have chosen one of the three, who and why?
I’m not here for you to tell me what race should I choose, because that’s my choice, but if you’ll answer these questions, it might help me decide on my own.
I would like to ask about ticket 398478. My dearheart sent it 3 days ago and there is still no response. We all miss him in the game very much and we’d like to know, where to go from here. I would really appreciate a quick response.
Blue skin ruins it, so I won’t buy it, but still I have to admit that this armor is a beautiful design, I just prefer more simple and natural armors over the shiny ones. I would die for this though:
I was on my ele and I killed a thief in two seconds, then he went on say “Worst ele ever”. Was I supposed to kill him in 1 second like most of the other classes do or what? :P
Actually, when I first bought the game and wasn’t sure which profession to choose, I chose mesmer… Because of it’s purple abilities. And I’m a guy too.
my point is that i understand why there is revealed debuff on thieves…i don’t understand why mesmers get special threatment
They don’t get special treatment, they just get different treatment. After all they aren’t thieves and have a class of their own. Mesmer’s stealth cannot be abused, it’s still much shorter that the stealth of a thief, who can spam it with combo fields. People just don’t get it that mesmer was meant to use stealth to deceive their opponents… Thieves do that to kill them in one backstab.
Stealth for thieves: Mostly offensive, but also can be defensive of course.
Stealth for mesmers: Only defensive.
I am also very happy with these changes or at least I hope they will truly come to life. I only play mesmer and ele in pvp, so I will definitely enjoy that.
Decoy is not just a regular stealth. Mesmer summons a clone on his/her place and is going stealth deceiving opponents. I think it was meant for it to be that way, otherwise it would be useless as a deception.
I think the problem is that everyone would like to have an easy fight in pvp with actually every class different than his. You forget that you are fighting other people… And not mobs. It should be challenging. Mesmer class is all about deception, you cannot wish to change the mechanics of entire class, just because you are frustrated. Sorry. Let’s see… Mesmers do even have a skill called “Cry of Frustration”.
Mesmer’s autoattack from the greatsword lost it sound after the update. I miss the old sound really much, please, fix it. It sounds really cheap and annoying now. I would be really thankful.
I dream about this too. I would like to have an ice offensive elementalist, fire is overrated. Most of our ice skills are pretty weak, except skill 2 on water staff. I miss ice damage spells from other games so bad. Also playing for a year with the same skills over and over with not many viable builds gets really boring. I love this game, I’m so excited about everything new to it, but it needs a little refreshment. Alternate skills for already existing weapons is something worth looking into. It would also prevent the classes to be predictible in PvP. Each time I enter into battle with a staff mesmer on my ele, I usually cast Phoenix 600 behind the actual mesmer, because of Phase Retreat.
Levitate Description:
Rush high in the air for a short duration, before returning to the ground (trigger on-fall effects). While in the air all your spells have a 300 increased range, your projectile speed is increased, and melee attacks cannot reach you. Note:
This would synergize with the water trait that create a spell on fall. Theme:
Air.
So I thought… maybe alter it to include combo fields? It would really give the same feel as commanding the river around you, but it would make it more practical.
Exactly. Elementalists harnessed the power of the elements. They command elementals, they should also command natural elemental environment. Pure logic to me. It could be used as a new “group” of utility skills more likely though. Game mechanic could “sense” a water elemental object, which would be a river for exmple and this would be the only way for us to use a special water utility skill on it, that’s based on commading natural elemental environment. Thinking further, a special air utility skill, that’s based on commading natural elemental environment could be used only in the open areas, not in caves, houses, etc. Also it could differ in relation to a specific type of object. For example, we could summon a water wurm from a river, but then again we could get different skill in the place of this certain special water utility skill, when we would be using it on a block of ice. This would be good for any profession actually, a warrior could be the only class to do a decent damage with about any lumber found in the field or actually create a temporary weapon from various objects (Similar mechanic to conjures of the eles). A mesmer could create environmental illusions, turning a lava into water, while the illusion would shatter and deal damage from lava, if someone would step into it. A necromancer could create a minion from a dead foe, one minion at a time and only for 60 seconds. Who wouldn’t want to have a humanoid as an additional minion? (Created from a dead bandit for example) It would be really, really fun to interact with the environment more.
Levitation – Leap from any height after activating skill, gently float to bottom. Duration could be fairly long but the drawback is that you fall at a third the speed, so takes longer to get to bottom but no damage.
Fly – Move in any direction 360 degrees, so long as no obstacles in the way. Duration would after be short to stop abuse, just enough duration to let you fly 900 – 1200 range.
I think those wouldn’t really apply to elementalists, it implies a mastery only the Zephyrites have managed.
Why not? Never watched X-men? A woman there was creating winds to fly and an elementalist surely has control over wind. If he can push back foes with wind, then I do not see any problem with flying with it. I hope they will add more offensive skills though. I wish for more storms and offensive ice spells. As for new elites maybe, transforming into a huge phoenix, anyone?
I’d like to have more offensive ice and wind spells. I haven’t thought about specific animation or description though.
And about teleporting enemies away to target area – It would be nice, if it would be by a strong AoE hurricane. Much more spectacular animation, than a simple mesmer-like portal.
I also think that a levitation skill would be a nice addition and useful for avoiding traps and marks, which we can see and try to avoid on foot anyway.
My elementalist Caro. I wanted a more tribal look for him, but unfortunately tribal armour is solely for pvp usage, so I came up with this weird combination and to be honest, I actually like it.
I play a mesmer with a condition build and I like it. I think that mesmers are the best with conditions, because you are not the only one stacking your conditions. You can have three of your clones to help you do that and yes, while mesmers are unpredictable with conditions on staff with their “Winds of Chaos”, they not apply only bleeding, but can also randomly apply burning and with three clones alive you stack bleeding and apply almost constant burning. This actually slightly outpowers bleeding that necromancers “can apply and control”. A condition mesmer has yet high survivability. You don’t only mislead your enemies, but “Phase Retreat” is a skill, that condition necromancers can only dream of. Confusion is fine in pve too, if you are aware of the correct moment to inflict it, but yeah, mobs don’t attack as often as players do (I personally love to torture warriors and thiefs with confusion <3), thus it is a little bit less effective in pve. Zerker build may deal a little bit more dmg in the same amount of time than a condition build, but a dead zerker will deal no damage at all, if you know what I mean. ^^ (Just a silly joke.) So my answer is yes, condition mesmers are good, but as someone already mentioned, not ideal. Actually, there is no possible ideal build. Condition builds may lack a little bit of damage per second, but then again zerker allows you to complete daily reviver in no time, which you do not want to do during dungeons I believe.
I agree. While exploring this new, stunning, gorgeous, breathtaking, amazing content, I was like “Great, more npcs with new hairstyles, which we can’t use”. For example, I wish there were more long hairstyles for women, that aren’t actually ponytails or braids or somehow tied back. I would want loose, wavy long hair. ;c Many new hairstyles and faces would be a nice addition to the estetics of the game, because most of players tend to look really similar these days. Mesmers everywhere, I dare say. ArenaNet are amazingly talented. I hope they will make new hairstyles someday.
It’s quite unlogical. Logan’s armor is available and Anise’s armor is not, while plot wise he is so much bigger NPC than she is. ;c Still, great applause for whoever designed her armor. It’s stunning.
I am not actually much bothered by these changes, because I run a condition damage focused mesmer with 15/25/0/0/30. Actually, I will get another condition for my scepter, so I’m quite happy.
