Those are for dungeons and fractals. In dungeons and fractals, you should run full berserker’s gear and max out your damage modifiers in your traits, which will make you extremely squishy. That’ll take a while to get used to.
As for zerging, http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Elementalist_-_Staff
That’s for open-world farming (not including world bosses, we’re talking more about daily farming/silverwastes here)
Or if you meant WvW zerging: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Elementalist_-_Staff_Backline
That provides great group support in a WvW zerg

The first one is a bit more bursty than the 2nd, but the 2nd has better sustained damage. The first two are for when you don’t have 20+ might stacks otherwise. The 3rd one is much easier to play and hits harder when not factoring in might stacking, but is significantly worse at stacking might. Play the first two for great challenge; staff in PvE is just camping fire attunement for the most part.
Metal ones are metallic (look best on metal), vibrant ones are bright colors that look better on fabric.
When responding to the prompt that my borderlands is ready (first in queue), I get a “network error”. It tells me to check my internet connection, but my connection appears fine. Pressing both “travel” and “reenter queue” (in two different instances) triggered it.
I couldn’t stop shaking my head at the 2nd one… seriously, WHY??? Please enlighten me, because right now, this takes the cake for the most stupid LFG I’ve seen. And they have a necro!
I have a hard time imagining how the expansion would connect to the living story lore if at all. The new areas are in Maguuma, so I’d hope it would at least give a few clues as to what S3 would be about. Sorry for the vagueness, what do you guys think?
That face is exclusive to the total makeover kit. I use that exact one or the one that has slightly different “stripe”-age. As for sliders, I don’t have a makeover kit right now.
Here’s a PvP meta build that fits your description:
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Necromancer_-_Traditional_Terrormancer
As for PvE: max direct DPS is the meta like it always has been. Necromancers are the worst class in group PvE because of their near nonexistent group utility and low power damage (though with frost spirit stealth-nerfed to oblivion, maybe it’s tied at bottom)
So condi bunker (as what you’re looking for is called) is the worst possible build for PvE because berserker max DPS (sometimes with a bit of assassin)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything else except in very niche situations.
If you do want an idea of what is considered the best type of build for Necro PvE (though no min-max group EVER has necros), I’ll link it below, though it’s the opposite of your wanted build description:
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Necromancer_-_Dagger/X
I love necromancer, but it’s my bank character because they always get the very short end of the stick.
I thought on the weapons, Tequatl gave Rabid…
Tequatl’s Hoard gives a rabid ascended weapons chest with a slightly exclusive skin, but you can also get a weapon chest that’s only 1 stat. For example, I’ve gotten Berserker’s , Carrion, Dire and Valkyrie.

Supposedly, it’s going to be down for the next couple of days.
Personally, my invisible bag is my last bag slot, so instead I have my staff in my very first inventory slot. The biggest hassle for me is when my dagger is in my first bag and I have to scroll down towards the bottom for my focus. I’m thinking a better way might be to keep your weapons in your last bag and click on the icon on the left for your last bag so you’re not scrolling down for your OH.
If you’re in PvE, you can just use ice bow instead and only equip staff for the speed.
I’m linking DnT’s website here, because their builds are the standard zerker PvE builds. gw2skills.net is down for the next few days unfortunately, but all the build details are on the page as well. There’s also number calculations as well.
http://dtguilds.com/forum/m/6563292/viewthread/12497977-dnt-warrior-build-41514
The Empowered allies build is for if you’re the only warrior, and then 6/5/0/0/3 gs+a/m is if you’re not the only warrior.
I use my always 6/6/2/0/0 ele for CoF p1, and as long as I have +25% movement signet and dodge at the right time, I rarely die at all. I probably wouldn’t die at all if I used my staff for swiftness, but I don’t want to be stuck in the acolyte room unable to switch back to d/f.
There are people who exist that only have one toon, you know.
So you do what everyone else in the game does when they get a precursor they don’t want/can’t use. Sell it on the TP and buy the one you do want.
Your chance of getting a precursor hasn’t changed. What you do with a precursor you don’t want hasn’t changed. I fail to see how this patch makes anything worse and has been previously stated, it may make it more likely for you to get a useful precursor.
So…why the kitten?
From reading threads about this and reddit, a lot of the complaining is about how certain professions will make more money than others. For example, mesmers wear light armor (cloth prices are crazy; look at bolts of damask), and use swords, greatswords, and staves: the 3 most in-demand weapons. While engineers are at the other end of the spectrum and would get the most worthless armor and weapons. Also, all ascended armors use bolts of damask, which will amplify the “cloth train effect” if this change goes live whilst affecting all levels.
The one thing I really miss in LS2 is the large-scale open-world events. It was fun (yet frustrating) to figure out how they worked and especially for LA (and FotFW), I loved that I could turbo-lvl alts (like EoTM, but more fun when ppl weren’t raging in the Pavillion.) I prefer the end of S1’s gameplay and the story in S2. Put those together and I think it’d be the best non-expansion content (not features) we’d get.
You should also consider the major buff to arcing slice previewed in the Ready Up. It may or may not make up for the 100b nerf.
I agree that the prices are imbalanced. Here is my “what I think would be nice” on the dungeons I have done many times: (I use AC 1+3 as my “base”)
AC:
1: 1g5s
2: 1g30s (Never actually ran this one before because of bugs. Are they REALLY all fixed?)
3: 1g5s
CM:
All paths: 1g55s
TA:
Up: 1g5s
Forward: 1g30s
Aetherpath: 3g5s (being a little generous here)
CoF:
1: 80s
2: 1g5s
3: 1g80s/2g5s (last one pushing it a bit, but if everyone in your group isn’t really good at it it will take 2+hrs)
Hopefully you all don’t think I’m crazy. Basically the problem is that the price for each path isn’t balanced relative to other paths.

Read this. No LS2 until later in autumn.
I previewed with feathered armor and the ley line staff, and I thought winter frost was a pretty good match. Because certain armors take color differently, winter breeze is one shade lighter and spring dew is one shade darker.
Its been this way since launch, if ANet doesn’t know by now well… lol.
8/5/14 hotfix: Spectral walk is canceled after 3 seconds of free fall.
It’s not on the release notes, so he’s either joking or it is a stealth nerf.
snip
Can you list all the armor pieces you used in that look? It’s really cool
I would think the Charr would be more interested in defeating the dragons than the ghosts since they are the greater threat at the moment.
I think this is the exact reason why they’d want to break the curse. The Charr fighting dragon minions, the ghosts, and Flame Legion all at once is a lot even for what is essentially 3 large military forces. Another theory is that in Entanglement, one of the book’s in Scarlet’s lab (written by Scholar Abel) says that ghosts are magical constructs, which it could be inferred that the dragon could consume the ghosts’ magical energy. But I do see how the dragon minions would be the greater threat since it (probably) will be the business of all 5 races.
This button already exists. When you first press the create button, there is a button at the bottom-right called “skip to end” (you have to hover over that corner first). This makes everything randomized except for the name, which you choose at the end.
If you change skins that often, you can consider to apply the skin in another set and wear it whatever you want for free.
Also, right now if you complete the map of any city (Rata Sum, Hoelbrak, etc) you get 3 transmutation stones, that after the update = 1 transmutation charge, I suggest go for it while you can.
Actually, you get 3 stones each time you complete any explorable zone except for Southsun. I can complete Rata Sum in under 15 minutes. I use they BL key farming tactic where you make random alts just to delete them afterwards. Anet seems to just et it go on, so I highly highly doubt you’d get in trouble for exploiting.
Too cool not to share imo.
Armor: Nightmare (from TA) except for the student shoes. (I transmuted it all on).
I currently run a 30-10-0-0-30 power build on my necro with full zerker gear. After the ferocity update, I’m going to change it to 30-30-0-0-10. As the game is, I think a pure power build deals the best DPS in pretty much every PvE situation (PvE and rarely WvW is all I ever do). After crit damage is nerfed, will power necro still deal the best PvE damage for the most part, or will a hybrid gear swap build give me a sizeable upper edge? The “gear swap” part means that I have my zerker gear for power and can switch to carrion (my condi of choice). Suggestions for trinkets would be helpful, but I don’t want to be switching trinkets, I just want 1 set (zerker?carrion?rampager?rabid?dire?) that I can wear all the time.
I know that nothing about the anticipated “balance” update is set in stone, except that it’s happening. I would just like suggestions.
I’m having the exact same problem. Why did I choose this mission again? refrains from screaming
