Guild Wars 2

I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me how to tell which stats are best for which class? I know there’s a lot of info online, but the more I read trying clarify it the more confused I get.

For instance: I’ve been told shortbow is a condition damage but longbow isn’t. Sword is condition damage but axe isn’t. I just see weapons and just don’t know how you work out which is which.

I know when it comes to traits and stats on armor and weapons it helps if they boost each other but to do so I need to understand so I can make informed choices.

Please help.

I never think to get just power tbh as I think I’m always worried about being too squishy without toughness, BUT if the kill is much faster I guess I won’t need so much toughness lol.

Sword is the only weapon I really love on mes but I thought I was ‘doing it wrong’ as usually clothies die in seconds in melee range. Have watched the videos and read the advice from you guys I’m now ready to go full steam ahead with that sword and go buy it a partner instead of the torch.

Def for leveling. Am almost tempted to craft her up but that costs a lot and don’t learn the class that way. The only weapon that feels really good is sword but cloth isn’t supposed to melee lol.

I don’t what a sigil is so will go wiki that.. as for foods I keep forgetting cos they don’t last long enough.

I don’t understand meditations at all. a skill to unlock a skill or does it mean something else? I’ve avoided them so far as I haven’t a clue and someone in previous guild told me to ignore them until near endgame as they were too complicated.

Oh and what’s with so many NPC hostiles completely ignoring the false me’s? Insisting on running for me instead? seems to be working 50/50 or worse so far.

While I love my mesmer I also love hard hitting fast killing classes so I’m finding it a struggle to kill fast enough. At level 17 she’s slooooow, or am I doing something wrong?

I really want her for my main. Honestly I do. But atm I’m feeling frustrated at how slow it’s going and so tempted to run a warrior or guardian at the same time.

How do YOU cope and what do YOU do to speed up the fighting?

I’ve never roleplayed but I’m intrigued.

Is there much interaction at low levels as in exploring/hearts/events etc? that what most guilds seem to miss out. As I would need to restart to transfer it’s important to me. If I joined and like it but then found I was rubbish at roleplay would I have to leave?

Please divide just the guild recruitment forums, one for NA and one for EU

At the moment it’s impossible trying to find EU guilds recruiting as there are so many NA threads and so many don’t say which they are for. We really need a separate forum for the EU guilds to recruit in. Not for the rest of the game, for that we can all contribute together, but please make it easier to find which guilds are on EU servers.

That site shows WvWvW ranking for all NA servers (also EU if you change the drop down, for those on EU servers)

Question: What is the best use of 2 days playtime for learning to handle the class on a character that will be deleted after that time?

Reason for question: I changed server 3 days ago and realised I made a mistake. I will be going back, but have to wait another 2 days before the system will let me. Unfortunately I didn’t realise that until after I deleted my character and tried to swap server.

So basically I’m stuck where I am for 2 days. I do want to play and want to help myself learn the class better. Paying to transfer is not an option. So in 2 days I will then delete, swap server, start again.

No I don’t have experience running a guild, but life experience I do have. I suspect you’re just going to have to bite the bullet so to speak and set down rules, call it a reshape/restart or whatever and find new members. But you already know that really don’t you?

Anyone tried a G13 from Logitech? still get a joystick, can map all the skills and some other functions. Will still need to use the keyboard to chat but as the G13 sits beside the keyboard it isn’t hard to do.

Bags are for sale on the Trading post. You can browse it from the icon top left in game, but will need to go it to collect anything you buy. Another option is to craft them but that may take a while to level a craft enough.

Any heart you struggle with is worth googling. Most have a guide available somewhere and google will find it.

As for you gear I’m sorry I can’t help cos I’m a new player too.

I enjoy crafting in any game and would happy just making things for my own use, although it’s also nice to make things for guildies if you’re in a guild. As for pace, I don’t any reason to push it beyond what you enjoy. The whole point of playing is for fun after all.

I’m still deciding on a class atm. I’ve seen 2 guilds I’m interested in, yours and another for mature people, so going to watch both for a while

:) I’m on Gandara. A very high level 3 lol. What level would you advise I get to before thinking of joining yours or in general any guild?
