Guild Wars 2

I pre-ordered PoF, and noticed that the demo event was live. My client is up to date, but for some reason, I’m not getting access to make a demo character for this weekend and cannot make it in to the new area to run around and explore.

Is this happening to anyone else? Or should I sent in a ticket?

Hey there!

Names Chibi. I’ve been playing GW2 since (almost) the start. I’ve been inactive for a while (thanks to real life) but I’m trying to get myself more active in the game again. Thing is, most of my guild members rarely log in anymore, and I’m really looking to socialize!

I’m interested in running dungeons (I know they aren’t popular anymore, but I loved running them back in the day), working on events, and at some point, I’d love to learn how the raids work.

As far as my personal interests go, I enjoy talking about politics (I do tend to run liberal though), I like movies, music, video games (obviously), and I do like talking about anime (a little, not all the time).

If you think that your guild sounds right for me, please drop me a message! I’m really only interested in guild that have either discord, vent, mumble, etc.

Ever since the patch today I haven’t been able to log in. The client wont finish downloading. It works for a little while, but I always get the “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” message.

But I know it’s not my internet connection. EVERYTHING else is working. please help!!!

True, but I complain that the story is starting to ask more questions than its willing to answer, which is part of the reason I’m so fond of the idea of Malyck making a return to the story-if nothing else just to tie up that loose end.
And the concept of a second Pale Tree is a little too big to just ignore shortly after its unveiled. I felt a little cheated by that aspect of the personal story.

Right?? But I am excited to see what their plan is for Caithe, especially with the way she was acting in this latest installment.

Okay. So, I’ve got a question and/or request for the Living Story team.
In the personal story for Sylvari, levels 10-20 (If you choose “Where Lifes Goes, so Will You”) the player is introduced to the mysterious Sylvari, Malyck. During this chapter of the story, we find out that Malyck is from another tree.
He promises to return later to help fight Zhaitan, but is actually never seen again.

I’m really upset by this.

First of all, we are slowly pushing further West, which is where his tree supposedly is planted. Secondly, considering this is the area where Mordremoth dwells, it could easily indicate the fan-favorite theory that Sylvari are actually dragonspawn. His tree could be a branch of the dragon itself.

I would love to see this character make a return in the living story, and I know I’m not the only one who would!!!

Fans: discuss what you wwould like to see with the other tree, Malyck, and/or this whole business with Mordremoth.
Anet: Please just tell me if you have plans for him in the future!!! I want to know!!!

Elementalists and Engineers DON’T need help. They’re OP enough as it is. Mesmers are too. Just because you can’t face-tank everything, doesn’t mean that the class is bad. It just means that YOU’RE bad. Learn to play.

I logged into the game not too long ago, and out of curiosity, went to Sparkfly fen to see if Tequatl was attacking. I was able to get on my main server (DragonBrand) and noticed that the fight had JUST started. So I ran towards the fight to join in.
But as soon as I get TO Teq, I find that there is nobody else there. Not a soul. I am LITERALLY the only person there. (Don’t believe me? I took screens!)

I’m sorry, but there is a problem here in my opinion. Is Teq just too hard now, or do people just not care anymore?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s the PvP Stalwart’s Shoulder item.

That particular shoulder (and the rest of the set except for the chestpiece which can be gotten from the personal story) is not available anywhere in the game for PvE players. It can only be gotten and worn in PvP. Its one of only 2 or 3 sets in the game that isn’t available for PvE, and people have requested PvE models for it before but its thus far not been added.

Anyway, on to the topic I’m in the process of creating an exact duplicate of the character Malyck, part of some Sylvari storylines. He was one of my favorite side characters in my story, and I wanted to pay a small homage to him by doing so.

Trouble is, I can’t find all of his armor. Specifically, his shoulders. (Below is a screenshot, he’s the one on the right) I’ve spent a good ten minutes browsing through the black market, but I haven’t found anything even CLOSE.
Does anyone know what those shoulder are called? I need them to complete my look!

Edit: I am aware that the color scheme is a little off, I’m working on finding the right hues. As well as the weapon skins. As for now, I’m just worried about the shoulders.

Depends on what they would want to do. I wouldn’t mind either route But it would certainly get the players riled up.

This is an idea I’ve had for a while.

I know it would take a lot of time to do, and there’s certainly no rush.
But how about this? Add exclusive voices to your characters, with the use of the total makeover kit?

Don’t get me wrong, I do love the voice work already adapted into the game, but some of my characters have a voice that just… doesn’t fit the personality I want them to have in my head. Make sense? Awesome.

Okay, now that we have that out, here is a means of doing it. Either hire voice actors or hold voice over auditions from fans. Fly winners out to the studio for a week or so (however long it’s needed), have them do their respective voices, and give them some Guild Wars 2 gear as payment/thanks. Of course, somewhere in the disclosure has to let fans they wont actually be paid, but it’d be a good foot in the door for people honestly looking to do voice work in games.
Now that we have actors, Set up a tab in the create a character section that can only be selected if you are using the total makeover kit. There is a set of 3 voices for each race/gender, and a short preview of each.

Of course, keep the voice already available in the game as one of the three options, but have two other choices available.

It was an idea, but I’d love to hear your thoughts about it. If the Sims can do it, so can you! Besides? How many MMORPG’s are out there that have such an option?

Often I’ve wished to go back and play through my characters personal story, just ONE more time but have no means of doing so. With the exception of Story Arah, of course.

But what if there was a way of doing so?

In your hero’s story log, there should be a button on each mission that allows you to play it again. No rewards, just for fun That way, all those moments you’d love to re-live, are just a click away!

Hey there! I just found a pair of holographic dragon wings, and I must say, I LOVE THEM!
The only problem is, while I have them equipped to my Ranger, they’ll disappear any time she’s throwing her axe. I haven’t tried this on any of my other characters yet, so I don’t know if this happens with other classes/attacks. Even so, please fix this! It’s very distracting ._.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been done yet. Why not release limited edition dragon minis? A mini of each dragon in game? I would love to have a tiny Shatterer follow me around!

I know that such a thing was implemented in the game that shall not be named – but I still think it was a system that worked well.
I am aware that sites like gw2lfg.com DO exist to help you find party members for certain events and dungeons, I still feel as though some sort of system should be in game – to help users find players on other servers who are interested in doing the same event/dungeon at the same time as you, because we ALL know, that doesn’t always happen in game. And it’s always a pain to quit out of the game JUST to make a party.

Just have a separate menu for finding parties. You can specify if you’re looking for users interested in speed runs, if you need someone that is a certain class, if it is an exp run, which path, or even if you don’t care and just want a group of 5.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but most heavily when the third book was announced. Will the water dragon be revealed during this chapter of the living story?

With Southsun was first released, there was the issue of the Karka. Crab-like creatures of unknown origin. Now, with the latest of the Living Story, the number of Reef Riders has increased dramatically. It doesn’t help with the actual location of Southsun, right in the Sea of Sorrows, where it is rumored that the water dragon dwells.
Could the increase in animal activity be a sign of the dragon? Will the uneasiness of the refugees bring attention TO the dragon?

I think, it is possible. What are your ideas?

I have two, Lullamoon, my Mesmer, and Aethila, my Ranger.
(They are in order)

Hey all! I just started a new character, decided to go with an Engineer. Yay!

But I’m having difficulty with the class. It plays so differently from my main (Guardian), and I was hoping some more seasoned players would be able to give me some tips/tricks so that I may better play the class.

Okay. I’ve been getting this problem for about a week now and it’s really been frustrating. Especially since it’s usually between the hours of 12:00-5:00 pm (EST) – and that’s really the only time I have to play the game for as long as I would like.

The bigger problem is, that it only seems to happen on my account. My boyfriend and I live together, and where he won’t have ANY connectivity issues, when I log into HIS computer (or my own) I’ll have connection problems like you wouldn’t believe. The game will kick me after about 2-3 minutes of playing, but everything becomes inaccessible after 5 seconds.

He and I ARE both connected to the same internet, and I’ve tried logging in on both computers. He doesn’t have any problems, but I do. So it can’t be a problem with the client, more the account.

Please help me out here, I’m really frustrated with this!!!

Aethila – Ranger of the Durmand Priory

Well, I’m glad to see I’m not the only one. I’ve been having this issue since yesterday (4/21), and I was about ready to call my internet company and cuss them out o.o

I get the delays, I wont be able to talk to NPC’s, my abilities vanish underwater, and then the game will boot me. It’s been doing this every 2-3 minutes every time I play on any character I play, regardless of where I am at the moment. I got to play for about an hour on my Ranger last night before the game kicked me, but it kicked me at the end of a lvl 75 story quest. I wasn’t particularly happy about it
Please fix this Anet! DD: I believe in you!!!!!!!!

I’m having issues with my game client. Please note, that I’ve been playing this game since it was first released, and this is the first time this has ever happened.
Whenever I log into the game and try to boot it up, my screen starts to blink out to black, and then stops. The game will not start up. But every other icon on my desktop works fine, even my other games. Guild Wars is the only one that wont work.
I’ve tried resetting my computer, I’ve run a diagnostics check, and my computer says that there is nothing wrong.
Any suggestions? Also-is this happening to anyone else?
