Hi … id like to know some good mesmer pve build .. i have some stuff hich i was using in wvw .. but currently im focusing on pve / pvp only

so main idea of build .. mobility out of combat .. killing things asap .. usfullness in dungeons / fractas and solo play

Also u can use guardian runes ( burn on block ) work pretty nice with aegis from PU
or mimic 4s block

Pu = prismatic understanding .. chaos 12 trait

not good for SPvP … nice for WvW

in 1v1 is glamour spec not the best prob however dont forget about huge uptime on ur chaos armor … that makes killing u pretty tough mostly when there is 2/3 chance to get confusion from hitting u
if u feel than ur unable to tric opponent into high confusion stack simply get away … null field their swiftness and run

@Osicat: th vm for tips … bdw i just found another way how to deal with that engi pull + pry bar combo .. if there is no bombs around him … cast scepter block twice ( cuz im cond. spec. ) it blind his pry bar so he miss ..

i had nice fight against cond. engi today .. i was capturing point and he appeared after i cleaned whole trash … i had to use portal to get away and recover ( that elite supply is rly strong ) .. after it dissapeared i forced him to run away XD … couldnt catch him .. i dont have swiftness runes since im using cond. build … great fight

however do u have some advice how to fight against cond. engies ?

with carrion gear mostly … cuz this build not need lot of precision
stack better with power + cond. dmg

staff … not need to explain :P
scepter .. 2 more aoe confusion … 3rd ability + blind from 2nd twice casted
focus … simply cuz traited focus is awesome

traits … i belive its rly clear … just domination 5 … well its working with replacing illusions aswell … and scepter autoattack chain summon clone right near enemy
aoe cripple is never bad

at first gl in gw2 and gl with mesmer class
so far shattering on low lvls … use it only for finishing
use any weapon combination u like … if its ur 1st mmo .. u proly dont know what style u rly prefer .. mesmer big advantage is huge versatility …. personally i prefered staff on low lvls cuz staff clones do nice dmg with condicions
and if u wanna improve ur style … be more specific in questions … watch skilled mesmers vids. and check guides

regardless of what kind of build u wanna play … mesmer is rly traits depend … so lvling might be ( and prolly will be ) pain .. however on lvl 80 mesmers rly shine
statbalance depend on weapon u gonna use .. but if u go for good crit chance u wont make mistake .. even in cond. build

yea i meaned it more for dungs .. i also prefer MI in wvw .. fury on phantasms is important for extra bleed ( dueling 15 ) and aoe heal proc ( sigil of water )

i like Lyssa runes cuz chaos storm/armor have some random effects + Signet of inspiration passive + random effect on heal .. can do sometimes miracles ..

ohh … just discovered something … as she told she tested EVERY CLASS BUILD ETC. … so she must know shes wrong … but since she dont wanna share “tips + tricks” it might be all just big fooling and whole point let her play something rly usefull while we all slowly start to think she is right O.O

and taking more defencive stats with cond. dmg … last utility slot is for situational skill
lyssa runes and sigils of water on weeps … it seem that phantasm crit nad ur cirt proc it on separated cds …. focus is for combo field + finisher + reflection + swiftness + cripple + pull XD … instead of torch ( since its cond. build ) … expect that some1 in pt have blast finisher … and mb even aoe blind
what do u think about it ?

@eoloe: yeah .. however one big weakness of this build in wvw is that enemy can simply walk away if they find out that u not gonna die :P …

@Embolism: i cond. build which this one is … is MW good only for confusion part .. multi shatter MW + CoF … however on death traits are good for additions dmg cuz cond. build = scepter = tons of clones die for 1st attack only also clones are fine tanks which give extra punishment this way … and about MW efficiency in cond. builds …. well 3 staff clones can do more dmg when they are alive

so far for cond. build is good to have 25 points in chaos .. what u wanna pick in 1st tier instead ?

Baelfynn sounds rly nice 8/10 … even when i would liked it more switched Bael. mesmer Aegra. guard. … :P

@Embolism: yes shattering give more dmg however i feel that build more condicion based and there is 30s base cd on CoF is kinda long this traits helps a lot in add dmg for cond. builds … bdw its aoe condicions :P

yeee great idea .. like engi kits … so instead of “standart” 20 skills ( while every class have 10 and engies only 5 ) u can get up to 60

sounds balanced ….

i have only 3 80s .. mesmer ele and thief … and mesmer wins 100%

ele have perfect aoe and grp support .. however ele have to be played in same way whole time .. especially dd ele ( still same combo ) after 100h played u can do ur job wo paying attention

mesmer on the other hand is soooo much versatile …. even with 1 build there is no strait forward way how to use it …. never gets bored

wow … rly didnt noticed that mesmers are so weak … my thoughs was exactly opposing ( and i have also 80 thief and dd ele ) … still i enjoy my mesmer way the most … not only we can have great survability dmg decent support but we can have it all in one build … srsly 2 crazy
PS: not calling for nerf .. just fix illusionary elasticity on staff clones and we are fine 3:)

i can only talk about wvw and PvE since im not sPvP player
but i rly like cofusion concept in both …
as far as i understand confusion work xtremly well in cond. spec as anti burst for both WvW and PvE
point is not to keep few stacks confusion at all times but using ur cds at same moment when enemy is about to make action giving 10+ stacks
so far its great bursting tool for cond. dmg builds .. only thing is to learn timing

in shatter power builds is also great for WvW cuz ur shatter burst give lot of confusion stacks so whole burst take 80% enemy hp and lock him for another 3s when he cant heal or strike back

i have enjoyed staff / GS mostly while lvling
and about tanky mesmer … in PvE u have to learn how to use ur clones for tanking … that way u can be very squishy still not recive any hit
in PvP or WvW its different story players can recognise u over clones
anyway i belive most usefull starting traits are 5 in illusions
and at lvl 40 DE ( deceptive evasion )

i just finished lvling my thief and have some quesitons

i wanted to make some build with good survability and perma access to stealth
however soon i realised that due to statbalancing its pretty hard to get it with normal power prec. crit dmg option
so cond. seem like way to go
are cond. builds viable in endgame PvE ? ( fotm 30+ )
and how they are doing in WvW ? ( soloing 1 v x style )

i understand ur problem .. i lvled mesemr after dd ele … also feel that difference …

however my suggestions is use staff … its good aoe weapon with very strong defence and staff clones can kill pack of mobs fast with condicions …
take 5 points in illusions for 20% faster recharge rest is up to u … also use clones for tanking especially on low lvls .. shatter for finishing ..

at lvl 40 take deceptive evasion and things will be much easier

about answers

1. was clearly answered by other ppl already bdw i also highly recommned u taking 5 points in illusions asap .. very helpfull trait …
dont try to go healing build or at least not so early … mesmer can go for support however support and healing are 2 different things

2. every weapon set have 1 phantasm ability and 1 direct clone generating
( as example of indirect clone generating sword and scepter have block which create clone if u are attacked )
while clone generating is on main hand and phantasm ability is on offhand weapon
2H weapons have both ofc

3. not need to feel guilty blowing them is rly handy ( try to use if for finishing not 2 early on low lvls ) practising is key .. after 1000 illusions blow u wont feel anything

mesmers have very good combat mobility .. so if he was cond.. mesmer and seem like yes with those weapons his basic tactic is keeping staff clones and fighting on range .. while u as d/d thief prefer close combat … prob easiest thing u can do is swap to p/d and simply kill him on range … those traits which gives condicions on clones death doesnt work on range kill … and last thing is when u see clones are running to u .. dodge into them not away
PS: try to not attack when u have confusion … its base duration is only 3s

i was testing ur heavy cat build today
both variations OH sword with mirror images / pistol null field
i understand that OH sword give very nice dmg + block
but i feel like 2 ethe. fields ( prefer MI when soloing )work better with iDuelist than iSword. with that confusion stacking
and pistol have good control even when not traited

can u explain me more background of ur OH weapon choise pls ?

staff is great defensive weapon
thats why many ppl using it even with power builds despite most of its dmg is condicion

if u want build for heavy staff using in wvw u need 20 in dueling ( deceptive evasion )
and 20 in chaos ( chaotic dampening )

scepter + torch is obvious choise for confusion build ( 2 obvious to say why )

currently im using staff a lot in wvw ( rly love that weapon )
with cond. build 0 25 30 0 15 … working fine so far

rest is up to u .. gl
