Seriously, gamers can tolerate a lot – this lag is intolerable. You should stop working on the xpac and fix this because, if this continues – you will lose players… players that will not purchase the xpac.
Idd, totally reconsidering buying the expac, I have no interest in the pve, pvp sure but I’m really only interested in WvW.
So Anet, you break the game, you lose core players, you lose potential buyers for your new expansion and in turn your game dies.
Let me rephrase that for emphasis, YOUR GAME IS BROKEN, YOU’RE GOING TO LOSE MONEY. Now, we can expect an answer very soon, because that’s all they care about right? right.

Well it was lagging before too… Its just way worse. Yesterday was my worst trip to EB in a long time. Unplayable. People where warping all over the place and even when not in a zerg, everything was delayed. Not just plain 2-3s delays, but completely random with a 50% chance of not working at all. Skills with a cast time? Uuuuuuugh… Couldnt even 1v1 anyone.

EoTM worked perfectly before I joined EB. I suppose that shows Anet priorities -_-
I don’t ever go to Eotm, but you’re saying there’s not lag there? So it’s just the WvW servers that have been neglected all this time, and yea this stab lag is recent, but there has always been a general skill lag for over a year now mostly in 3 way blob fights, or any fights in SMC. Which goes to show how bad the server instability was before this recent patch, which just made it 10x worse. And from the lack of response from Anet about it we can expect no updates any time soon™
I requested and received my refund in less than 24 hours.
Both GM’s that I dealt with made it clear that gem store refunds are not typically done. I believe that I made my case that the sound and performance was not desirable, in the least.
I gave full props to the aesthetic design of the item (it really does look good), but that I did not purchase it for looks alone.
After they confirmed that I deleted the item from my account, I was refunded the full 800 gems.So you MAY be able to get a refund, but 1) this is the exception not the rule 2) when doing so, make a logical argument as to why this item is not up to the standard you expected from Anet
My opinion is that they should look into a functional preview for items of this nature so customers are better informed – having to go to 3rd party sites like Dulfy or Reddit to research potential purchases is silly.
Side note – I’ve had to deal with customer support a handful of time over my 2.5+ years of playing GW2, and I have been very happy with both their professionalism and their turn-around.
Kudos to that team. I know it’s not an easy job.
Well that’s funny, I made my point with a support ticket for a refund and I’ve yet to get a reply. It’s been 4 days now :S
GG now why not try and fix something we care about, like i dunno the 5-10 second skill lag most of the people on my server complain about in map chat and on teamspeak, there isn’t a minute that goies by when someone different complains.

so basically this is how i noticed the lag happens even in a 40 vs 25+ situation. we will say A is 40 and B is 25+. server A stacks up and gets ready to push, server B stacks and gets ready to counter. now server A hits stability to push. bam lag for 15 seconds, after 15 seconds you are free to use all skills till everyone pops stability again. this has been happening everytime a large group uses stability it seems. has anyone else noticed this?
I’ve noticed the same thing, in T1 with blob fights doesn’t matter what the numbers are however numbers does affect the intensity of the lag, the intensity is at it’s worse when numbers are anything from 35 to 90 players per blob.
Now for the actual lag, i’ve noticed my ping spikes when either blob is in the vicinity of the other (for example from the opposite side of the bridge inside bay is blob A, and blob B is on the other side of the outer gate either NE or South) then the common side effects occur, such as rubberbanding players making it hard to stack on the commander and noticeable skill lag. Skill lag reduces slightly as soon as the blobs are closer together, depending on the size of the respective blobs, during engages/aoe bombs etc there is a delay of 3-5 seconds for some skills, sometimes its only 2 seconds, sometimes you can spam it for 5-10 seconds and come up with nothing. During the entire fight my ping has spiked high, but strangely not high enough to actually cause this type of lag. having 300-400ms should not cause a delay in skills of up to 10 seconds.
My theory is that because of the extra calculations for stability there may be some sort of server instability when it has to deal with that many extra numbers, before it was a single duration stacked buff that could be spread among allies/yourself, now it’s a boon that stacks not only duration but intensity, meaning there’s calculations for stacks coming off from CC, going up, falling off from durations, being pulled from boon rips, being spread from aoe stab (guardian shouts) to allies.
So say every one in the blob has not used stability as of yet, but slowly players from the AoE parties (ele’s/necro’s/thieves/rangers etc) start using their skills when they’re engaging with chill/static etc. as a counter to that a few enemy players use their stability (boom, tiny bit of lag), and this may happen multiple times vice versa (pirateship meta) until the melee train make a move, so players get caught, they use stab and we get short bursts of lag. Now when the melee train finally pushes and tries to peel the onion or push right through the enemy blob, we have atleast 30 players using stability all at once, the enemy being pushed, your allies doing the pushing. All of this adds up to a very laggy situation.
Now this is all just speculation but it makes sense when you compare the varying levels of lag we’re getting in these fights, it adds up to how much stability is being used at different times of a fight, and i’ve noticed it at it’s worse when either melee group is pushing and causing eachother to pop stability.

It’s been almost 2 weeks since the changes. This is bad, especially for the core population of players that play WvW every day and enjoy the scrims, now it’s just a massive rubberband fest, hoping your skills pop off before you reach your enemy CC and aoe, dodge rolling and spamming 1 is all you can do and kitten sometimes even my lootstick’s infamous 1spam has lag oh and what about being unable to stack properly on your commander because him and everyone else is popping and locking all over the place before you even reach the enemy zerg.
Anet, you’re killing what is left of an already dying part of the game by making us wait so long in anticipation for even a smidgen okittennowledgement about the issue. All that needs to be said is “Hey, we know there’s a problem, looking into it, will let you know what’s being done soon™.” but no, we’re left in the dark.

An update on this. The team is actively working towards a solution for the lag issue many of you have experienced. They have already tried a few potential fixes that did not yield the expected results and are continuing to root out potential causes.
Suffice to say, they aren’t ignoring this problem.

You know what the WvW community could use right now? A lag fix, but no in all seriousness that won’t happen, but we could use some kittening feedback. Last time we heard from any dev/wvw admin/community manager about this matter was 3 months ago, yeah 3 kitten months.
Losing hope in all things WvW related because there is no communication, please Anet do a better job. Fire some people, hire some people. Just don’t ignore us, because that kittenes us off even more than saying “soon™”
But hell who am I kidding they won’t read this, in fact they might but i’ll most likely just get an infraction for using their trademark word.. at least they would’ve read it
This is quite a long post, too many statistics, too many comments, too many issues for A-net to fathom, so naturally they will ignore it (also because this is the WvW section).
So let me just “too long didn’t read” shorten it for the devs, community managers, wvw admins and all the rest that don’t listen to us.
FIX THE LAG
Idd noone is forced to send you gold, being a member on gw2mb lets me see the different songs people have spent time to convert and using the autohotkey is merely just a way to bring suffice entertainment to other players and myself.
I won’t deny i’ve been sent gold for playing songs mostly just small change like 10s to 1-2g, back when macros for instruments weren’t known to be a thing, but i’ve never asked for gold and never will. If somebody does, so be it. Like mentioned before you aren’t forced to send them gold and you can really tell if someone is using a macro or not.

I’m sure you find a lot of nice bassguitar samples in a lot of digital orchestra libraries, so why does it have to sound like a bad synthecizer? did they do the sound recording during their lunch break?
It’s sad, because the insrument look pretty cool.
I’m embarassed for Anet’s sake to even play the instrument around other players because it sounds so bad, you could’ve gotten away with the sounds from Guitar Pro atleast it wouldn’t sound like a buzzy piano synth mess
Looks awesome, effects are awesome, the way my charr plays the guitar looks awesome. Sounds.. well horrible, first thing that came to mind – tin can/organ/piano/fret buzz?
Besides that, having only the low and “high” octave isn’t efficient to play a lot of songs, it really needs a higher octave. I’ve asked for a refund because I have no faith in A-net considering adding another octave let alone changing the sound to something that resembles an actual bass guitar.
Extremely disappointed in the so called “Bass guitar” instrument, needs 3 octaves and a better sound imo. Sounds like the bridge is a rusty tin can, I’m trying to tab a couple of songs to play at the moment and i’m getting no where because there is no variation in the notes, not enough to play any real bass songs. There also needs to be some continuity in the notes, i noticed the 2nd (higher) octave just stops, all in all it just sounds terrible, pretty please consider updating it because im forcing myself not to ask for a refund for the sake of this plea.

I agree with all of you, I’m pretty bummed about this. Spent 800 gems on an item assuming it would atleast sound like a bass and have 3 octaves like a bass should, it’s pretty much impossible to come up with songs to play because there is no variation in the sound, it’s just low and lower, there is no higher octave for playing songs like Orion from Metallica (mm dat sweet double tap melody R.I.P Cliff Burton)
Please A-net for the love of music and music lovers all around Tyria, consider updating the bass, get rid of that rusty tin-can organ texture to the sound and another higher octave <3. If no response I’ll be asking for a refund, I really enjoy the musical instruments you give us and it’s a nice touch to the game but please do it right
Disgraceful? Maybe, legal? yes. Flawed game design? You bet ya. Of course we’re going to milk the kitten out of this, especially since the loot rewards in WvW are terrible in comparison to PvE content. But OS farming won’t just benefit the ones doing it, material prices will drop eventually so every starry eyed legendary lover can get those t6 mats at low cost, or hell they may even find out about it and join in on the farming.
Now I’m not sure how long this will last, it’s been going on for quite some time, but considering Anet’s stance on World vs World in general it will probably take a year before they even review solutions to end the farm, ie. soon™
First off I’ve never played guild wars 1, but I have watched multiple videos on their so called “GvG.” it looked good with the 8v8 system, but a real GvG imo should consist of atleast 10 players although most would consider that to be “zerging” which makes no sense if you actually played starcraft. And yes in a moba you do have the standard 5v5 setup where 1 of the 3 lanes could be either oversupported (3 players) or undersupported (1) and it creates an equal balance of the strategy used by either team.
My opinion is that if this “GvG” is using the conquest setup (5v5) the same way as do lanes, “top, mid, bot.” there is not much difference and you’re just overpromoting a moba with a few variances such as siege and supplies. The lord at either side isn’t anything new either, perhaps taken from GW1 sure, but it’s basically the Nexus from LoL, same goes with the creeps that help you to take out the gates (skritt and tengu).
Finally, as someone mentioned above 5 players from your guild of up to 500 players does not constitute a proper reflection of your guild’s performance in this so called GvG, especially when any 5 players can start their own guild and act as a guild, when in essence they’re just a party.

If only someone gave us some feedback, anything at all would suffice as long as we know they are aware of the issue. It’s starting to affect more players but it seems to be a reccuring issue for players that have had it before, for myself I’ve never had latency problems such as this until about 3 days ago.
As expected, game is unplayable after the patch. All aspects of the game are laggy and only thing to blame is the ignorance towards this thread and the cry for help from players for atleast a word on progress towards fixing or solving the problem. Lots of nice new stuff in the gemstore that I will not be buying this year, I give up on your game.
So it seems this thread is completely dead, no support/replies whatsoever, however my lag issue has sort of gone away except for all instances of joining arenas in spvp where the lag is intense and makes it impossible to play. So I guess I can give up that aspect of the game for awhile until A-net can pull their heads out of where the sun don’t shine to let us know what is going on or you know to provide so called “support.”

Description : Rubberbanding of players/myself in all areas in game (including HoTM, LA, WvW) , delay in skills (up to 5 seconds), chat delay in all different chats of up to 5 seconds too. Already determined that it is not my internet, browsing, playing another online game and buffering videos/ speedtest/ ipchange/ dns change all done and working fine. Current ping showing 500ms and up to 800ms ping to Guildwars 2 game servers, specifically 400-500ms to even the guild wars 2 website.
Average working ping before incident has been between 180-240ms (ports forwarded 6112-6600,443,80)
Solution – Run staff guardian, spam 111111111111111
Yep, noticed some of this happening on SFR for the past few weeks. from the start of the current matchup I remember on reset someone draining all our keep/SM and various tower supplies to build ballistas all over the place. So I figured okay it’s just a troll maybe from our opponent servers doing this for kittens and giggles, but come saturday and sunday I’m still seeing players in our Keep draining our supply to 0 to build multiple trebs/ballistas right next to the supply depot.
Your solution however won’t work, if the report instantly labels someone “Dishonorable” trollage will commence as players report everyone for siege griefing and everyone is forbidden to place/use/build siege etc. For this to be a liable solution however you’d have to conclude that A-net staff would be fast enough at reading reports to stop it from happening by using the “Dishonorable” function, which is very unlikely.
I’m sure you savvy a-net folks can figure this out, it’s a pretty serious issue imo.
I’m glad to see another ETA and some compensation for the wait, took them long enough.
But the fat lady don’t sing till she gets her cake, at least I get 2 cakes with the extra tokens.
So what about the season 1 rewards? Can’t imagine what type of compensation would be given there, it’s been what? 6 months? Just saiyin
Well this is disappointing customer relationship management from a-net, I expected more communication on their developments towards fixing the issue, but fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I have stopped playing GW2 for the past couple of days now, log-in every once and awhile to check if I got my chest, notice even guild member numbers are lower than usual as I expect they do the same.
The game has gone stale, it was fun while it lasted, but the real enjoyment I found was in WvW and I’m sure a large portion of the player base does too, but now all I find is skill delay, lag and no entitlement for rewards because A-net can’t forecast bugs with little to no resources for this aspect of the game.
And for that, we thank you.

This thread will be deleted. But, I would like to add that SFR and BB had no alliance whatsoever, doubleteaming is such an immature excuse for losing. You had the chance to win but you lost it. It’s very well known that SFR slacks on friday and since we were leading, that is exactly what we did, we didn’t help BB at all, our presence today was lackluster and so was Deso’s. BB capped enough to tick higher, did we stop them? No. but we wouldn’t of stopped Deso either.
Really all SFR was doing in these last few hours, was watching how close Deso and BB were getting. GG BB for playing well even in the last remaining hours.
Also from SA, EC had the same issue, changed dns settings and it’s finally downloading, thanks Thorus
So this just happened, Desolation Scout decided to try and cap Mendon’s (T3) by herself multiple times. No Rams, Catas, Golems, Trebs.
Just a guardian and her ability to walk through walls and expectation not to be ss’d.
I would like to know how this is done, any ideas?
I know my Mesmer has been stuck in walls before, but this guardian is doing some fancy work here.
My guess is perhaps a bug using Judge’s Intervention and someone on the opposite side of the wall, but how she got stuck inside the wall in the first place is beyond me.
