Well those 2 classes are the kings of disengage…they get to choose who they fight (I play stealthy mesmer…..if i get caught in the condition storm with someone immo stacking…its death…but am a kitten to kill otherwise).
This is going to be where you are forced to coordinate with your team to spike drop them….but otherwise you can just stand on point and let them waste their time.
Didn’t mean to come off condescending…but if someone builds their character around disengage/stealth survival….you aren’t the person to drop them.

I am rank 39 and thought you guys just kittened me for getting Ransacker.
...But the games do seem to be better once you explain in map chat capping doesn’t give rank. I am getting around ~150 for a loss and ~250 for a win.
You have opened up so many more builds for grinding rank in hot join and that can’t be a bad thing.
So, i like the change.
Just an FYI: People in game are complaining of not getting their "Top Stat" daily...a lot (3-games for daily) players are going to start complaining....

Walk outside the refuge is what I do anytime a thief drops refuge on me while I am trying to bunker a point.
But other than that and attacking an enemy...I don’t think there is a way to manually knock stealth off you.
I can’t tell if this is about skins or builds/stats....
...WvW stats in sPvP will never happen...
I honestly don’t mind if they got to use their skins. I think finishers and titles are the main rewards anyways.
But the number of wvw’s not sPvP’ing just because of their gear skins is probably pretty small....so I don’t think it would change much.

...*match starts*....3 players run to cap home point.......we lose mid fight in 20 secs....
...they should just remove progression from tournament play or something.....
....It drives me crazy how bad people will play to make sure they get that 10 GLORY...
I don’t care about rewards...and most of these other complaints are negligible at best....
...I just plain don’t have fun anymore.....conquest-only kittening sucks....you literally added "custom arenas" and all it is a password protected server for whoever you want to play with.....nothing custom about it

....ability to turn off capture points and first team to 25 score wins......BOOM the death match everyone wants
....Foefrire without capture points for a Lord kill map...or use it as a one capture point KoTH type map.....
....Kyhlo as KoTH works too I guess....
....Spirit watch, where when picking up the orb a random point is "tagged" and points are scored if it is brought to that point....or just use home points....
....Lots more options I am sure....and these are suggestion with CURRENT maps...nothing toooo crazy....
....None if this needs to be balanced for the tournament level..or "E-sports"....just give us something fun....
....Classes feel like they are becoming less and less unique...interesting skills getting nerfed.....yet balancing seems to be a harder and harder job for you guys....I don’t get it....
People are not going to continue to play boring conquest with boring classes/skills for another year.....they are waiting for something better.

Based on these forums, if you had a poll for what you want most from this list of things, I think it would be very onesided towards new map types/modes. As such, I’m a bit nervous that anet’s statement didn’t more pointedly address that.

I almost got excited…If this is how A-net announces there will be more than conquest, they need a new blog writer…
..So i am going to assume it is just more conquest maps with weird secondary objectives.
Keep it in rotation. Most fun I’ve had playing in a while.
The maps are balanced (esp. EB) to give the 1st place team the hardest area to defend...3rd the easiest...
If you rotated...a third place server getting lowlands in EB would be kicked from the tier that week.
There are invisibility wells granting 5-mins throughout the JP to get to the end completely stealthed.
This has been complained about to death...and it is meant to be a hassle to get the chest. I love the EBJP.
Heroes ascent in gw1 was 8vs8 you kill the other team you win that and GvG it was great please add it. I’m not interested in deathmatch which is just a slaughter fest the one with most kills win no thanks rather play this in fps games.
I didn’t mean a Slaughterfest Deathmatch as in, say Call of Duty. I’m talking about organized ~4v4 (i.e.). No respawns, the team that defeats the other wins. It would very likely become highly competitive and difficult.
They want a game with a time limit...that is clear...the type of match you are describing encourages turtles....they want a fasted paced game that is fun to watch.
For a spectator... a tournament death match is boring...they don’t want that. You have to know too much about each class to get what is going on, and commentating on death matches becomes either WAY too simple or WAY too complicated.
I get what you are saying that death match has some of the highest skill cap at the VERY top levels...but A-net wants this to be an easy to watch and easy to "get" game...all while maintaining a high enough skill cap to make it competitive at the top.
So I wouldn’t expect it added is all I’m saying...at least not for a year or two. They are missing some huge things right now...and I pray (for their sake...and their awesome game engine) they are working hard on them.

I like your post...and want some sPvP/tPvP changes too.
...But the newest maps have begun to shift away from capture point. A small map with a game that consist of interesting terrain and awarding 1 point per kill...first to 10 kills (or highscore at end of a timer) is the closest A-net is ever going to get to deathmatch...
Deathmatch won’t be added because it isn’t fun for an audience to watch and the time of the matches will be anywhere from 20 seconds to 45 mins (extreme example I know)...that doesn’t work with what they are trying to create.
What sPvP needs to be taken seriously is a place for teams to practice (imo). I am not getting any better fighting the teams I face in tournaments 90% of the time. We use the same default strategy over and over.
I want to be able to practice anywhere from 5v5 to 8v8 against two teams made entirely of guildmates (or another guild we invite for skirmish)...on a server that won’t rotate maps until we want them to. We want to practice in private and try things out...strategy won’t develop if we have to debut a strategy in live tournaments while the strategy is still in the "theory" stage.
After they get the private servers straightened out...next is spectator mode, but I think A-net knows this.
A-NET...I will PAY straight-up COLD HARD CASH FOR A PRIVATE SERVER MAP....not gems...not anything but $$$$....I want to invite the teams I want and play on the maps I want...and maybe even set what the winning score needs to be.

Just a little thing I’d like to make my dodge “awareness” a little easier. I like the size it turns when moused over…and would set that as the default size if it were an option.

The Bl where there is a bank and Tp next to each other is always the map where you are lower right base.
It is not affected by anything...and is always there. He can die to exploited entry by rival teams but is rare, he will respawn.

Who exactly are you fighting that is making it the “best” you’ve ever played?
I’m thinking you must be one of those people who look at the score and evaluate the match that way, armchair quarterback style, because you obviously haven’t been part of our matchup. You should probably read the matchup thread – we’ve been fighting YB and CD, and we collectively have had a ton of great fights this week. I’ve seen plenty of posts from all three servers saying the same.
YB and CD aren’t helpless, nor have they failed to bring the fight this week. They just don’t have the coverage to show points on the scoreboard.
So, yes, it was a good week in WvW.
Ok, point taken, the closer the score the more dynamic the “macro” strategies become…all you had to do was go to the few points they still held and engage.
Maybe the quality of some individual fights were good….but it is clear you outmanned your opponents in the majority of your engagements.
We have a different definition of “best” for WvW I guess.
Or you can join, organize yourself with WM/TL/NEO and others, and play real WvW.
We may or may not be able to top T1, but this is some of the best WvW I’ve played in a long time.

So let me get this straight…Randomly on multiple occasions the entire supply of certain precursors randomly all get bought out at the same time…then randomly appear back at significantly high prices which are marginalized by more than the tp tax?

Just a few hours into the match and already we have condescending attitudes toward Blackgate. You all can kindly stop that junk now. Never in this history of this game has Blackgate fought for 2nd place. We always go for #1.

JQ – I have nothing bad to say. Your guilds fight with honor and are a pleasure to meet in battle. I just hope you realize this isn’t the same Blackgate you fought a few months ago.
We all know in a match like this, the war doesn’t start until Monday. Let’s try to keep scoreboard posturing and trolling attitudes to a minimum. After 2 months against SoR, pretty safe to say all of us are sick of trolls who talk a big game and can’t hurt us on the scoreboard. If trolling is all you can bring to this discussion, I hear cracked.com is looking for people for their comment section.

For all the smack talk CHOO does its funny watching us derail the Lame Train every night. Looking forward to T1 so we can have some decent competition.
Smack talk can be fun (I tend to skim over it). But this just makes us look ridiculous. BG has learned and gotten better because we faced guilds like [Choo]/[TW]/[CDS]/[Many others]. That is the only way I want to fight; against guilds like them. We roam WvW hoping to find the next big battle, and they deliver.
As we leave to tier 1, All of the BG players I know will be giving SoR a collective “GG, thanks for the good fights” and meaning it.
There would be a lot more head to head ( zerg on zerg) fights if people knew how much loot can drop from a 40-man zerg wipe….the ground is littered with bags (while partied )
Just trying to inform the community….I see lots of complaints/suggestions claiming loot is sub-par in WvW…..I think loot is very acceptable as is….
To post above complaining about pug zerg tactics and no good fights….those people are leveling…. an 80 should go make their own fight…go kick a beehive

That’s the secret folks…the WvW loot is fine. Don’t solo in a zerg….form pugs
I make money/drops and 45-75 badges a night by grouping with guild members (I run support and leech off our eles ) , and there is a very significant increase in loot bags popping up around me. It seems to give “credit” for more kills.
Drops are still streaky (same for me in pve)…exotic maybe once a week….avg maybe .5 yellow drops an hour……it is hard to say because the battles can be hard to find. ( this is all with 0 magic find…maybe out-manned buff sometimes)
But I have no complaints about loot….have all the badges I want…and MAKE MONEY in WvW…..imagine that
The total score will be the same at the end of the week…THAT’S THE POINT (this does not benefit servers with 24/7 queue times —> just servers who don’t have 24 hr coverage to stay competitive until the end.
There are around 700 score totals right now in a week…100 a day…I’m just saying….
Day1 – 25 ~ every hour
Day2 – 25
Day3 – 50 ~ every 30 mins
Day4 – 100 ~ every 15 mins (like it is now)
Day5 – 100
Day6 – 150 ~ every 10 mins
Day7- 250 ~ every ~ 5 mins
On a server that placed 2nd last week…..our numbers dwindled towards the end of the week (knowing a win was impossible)……THAT’s what I am trying to fix…..
Teir 1 this isn’t a solution for a problem YOU have……you chose to play with 4 hr queues…I didn’t transfer to a winning server
The exact math and balancing would have to done by A-Net….but yes, I am saying that holding camps/towers/keep/SM be scored less frequently at the beginning of the new match to be scored very frequently.
Maybe even the last score to be worth MUCH more and given the correct/solid cooperation a server can come back from as much as maybe three days of falling behind.
I think this makes the match much more intense at the end…and the beginning is about preparing for the coming all out war.
I haven’t looked around to see other suggestions……….
