Cool. I’m talking about the chance of it being a network issue though.
EDIT: I should explain, this only is a chance if there is no crashing of video drivers, operating system or reboots. You can still press F11 and F12 and get menus….
Please see my thread;

I would know if it’s a network issue, I was reading about those before I came to the conclusion this is not. This game kills my GPU driver but it is only this game so there is no failing hardware.
No I don’t.
Body Length here.

They are not moving steam to linux, they are just starting to support it. But they aren’t just moving to linux.
Black Screen/Crash Issue - I just want to play my game...

Please let us know. If I have to resort to this I will just underclock when ever I want to play GW2.
But that’s really strange and depressing.
That is an interesting development.
Here I was hoping there was one more of us so Arena net would fix this. Oh well. Good luck.
I don’t know what to tell you but if you do figure it out do post it there’s a lot of people waiting for answers to this.
I just tried to log in and the game instantly crashed my Graphic’s driver when I loaded in.
Especially the Graphics driver crashes the game causes.
It is, read the other threads for further proof.
I don’t think it’s the driver’s fault. I think it’s the game.
You are not alone in this. Most people having this issue use a 7770. No one has truly found a fix for this yet.

GTX Titan.
Expensive but it won’t only blast through GW2 it will blast through any game on the market right now.
This thread.
Meet this thread. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/No-video-signal-at-random-intervals/
Your issue is different than most people’s issue thought. If you can still close the game out and see your screen it’s not a driver crash.
However, yeah, it’s Anet’s fault either way.
Good luck.
But I don’t know if that is it for the rest of us. A lot of us are reporting good temps during game play. Also, most of us still have sound playing with the GPU drivers crash.
Yeah, seems like this happens to other people. But still, here’s to hoping for a fix.
CPU and GPU temps are good.
Screen doesn’t freeze, monitor loses signal, gets one back, and all I get is a black screen. I can still hear sound (game’s sound effects and anything else my comp was doing (which there usually isn’t anything else when I’m running Gw2).
No BSOD.
The only time it actually RESTARTED was the first time, never did that ever again. Main issue is this black screen with sound going on.
Saying good does us trying to help no good, we need info, and sorry to say we can’t just take your word for it. Please DL IBT and coretemp, run it for 10 passes and post max temps, then DL MSI afterburner and kombustor, run it for at least 10-15mins and post max temps. The black screen is a freeze, in the form of a video driver crash or not responding, which is why you still hear things.
But why would it not happen in other games? What is it about this game that makes the driver not respond/crash on my system?
How a game stresses a system or interacts with a driver are all going to be different, just like some games play great on a new driver, but completely breaks another game. You always start with the basics and work your way up.
Could it just be that the game hates 7770’s? On one of the other threads a majority of people with this problem seem to have the same card I do.
Cool, I’ll stop on by.
I would love to hang out but everywhere I look I can’t find a team speak address. I guess I’ll message someone.
Hey guys. I admit, I’m pretty new to the game (just got it Tuesday). I’m only level 9 in the PVE side of things (but I’m getting into PVP more).
I’m looking for a fun guild that’s in SoR and has a team speak. I’m just looking to make friends, and kick kitten .
Currently have a Necro main, but also am interested in Mesmer.
Do you got guys who do TPVP stuff? Or are you mainly focused on PVE?
How are you guys on Tpvp?
I also have a Radeon 7770 and I’m having these issues. Has any progress been made? It has happened to me in PVE areas, and also happened to me in heart of the mists and in the middle of a PVP duel.
Not sure what OS, CPU or graphics card you’re using so here goes. I’m assuming you’re using Windows, and you’re capable of over/underclocking your graphics card through software.
I jumped back in during Flame and Frost, and I also had BSOD until recently. I checked the event viewer in Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer, and it was showing Event 41 – Kernel Power in system errors at the exact times guild wars 2 restarted. Brand new 800w power supply, and not happening in any other games. No overheating, tried various drivers, still random BSOD. Only thing I changed in that time was my graphics card from an Nvidia 4xx series to a Radeon HD 7800 series, so I figured it must be something to do with that.
I tried two things: AMD Overdrive (if you’ve got an AMD Graphics card) and underclocked the graphics card by 1mhz on the clock and RAM, and disabled the sound card built in to the graphics card through Device Manager (never used it). From this I have had absolutely no black screens after playing for 40 hours, even through all game types.
Good luck, and remember to check the event viewer whenever you get any restarts, it can give you a clue as to why the system is restarting.
Could disabling the second card fix issues involving screen going black but still hearing sound? No BSOD or nothin’, just graphics driver crashing (Radeon 7770, up to date on drivers and application profiles)

While I did get a lot of extra play time out of the fix on post two, it still happened mid PVP today.
Maybe if an expansion ever DOES happen (unlikely) we’ll get better minion mancers for pvp
Hi guys. Today was my first day with the game. I like it, but I’ve had black screen issues three times today. First time was right after you beat the charr starting instance, I hit the map key to see where I was to tell my friend and my computer restarted (but didn’t make it past POST). But this one was unlike the other two.
The other two happened randomly and reproducing it seems impossible it just happens randomly. I googled it and a lot of people seem to get it as part of a network but mine involves this.
My screen will go black and my monitor will suddenly stop getting a signal for a second, then it will but I can’t get the computer to respond. I hear sound and one time it happened while I was on a skype call and the skype call person could still hear me. Both cases I still had to cut power to reboot.
Radeon 7770 HD(drivers up to date)
8 gigs of ram.
Phenom II Quad core 925 @ 2.81 GHz processor.
Help?
Edit: Yes AA is at application control.
Edit 2: I just tried the sticky’s second fix. Will report back results.

But why not use them as a pure minion mancer build? You get them ALL as a minion mancer, do you not?
WvW I would highly suggest not using MM builds unless you are planning to solo supply camps, their AI bugs out hardcore in WvW and they get cleaved down by ever present AoE.
tPvP MM builds are fine up to a point, they work nicely on side bunker, but generally speaking you are going to want to run hybrid minions at most (either condi or power with some minions). Again AoE is going to hurt you, and the pressure you can put out with a bit of hybridization is much better than what you’ll get by running all minions.
What minions are good for a hybrid build for Tpvp?
Are we sure they’re still good? I’m downloading the game right now and always wanted to go a Minion Mancer build for TPVP and WvW (and PVE too but that goes without saying)
