Does armor of earth stack?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Crenshinabon.7295

Crenshinabon.7295

So I am doing 10 in earth to grant earth shield upon reaching 50% life. If I pop my utility earth shield at same time, do I get my full value of the stability and protection? Like I do not lose one right? they stack …..?

Example.
They each grant me 9 seconds.
I go to 50% hp, it pops. I pop skill.
Now I have 18 seconds?

If so, very very very awesome.

Bountiful Power. +2% per boon.... stacks?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Crenshinabon.7295

Crenshinabon.7295

So “Bountiful Power” gives 2% per boon you have.
Does this work with all might stacks…. a few people say yes but that doesnt make sense.
That would mean with 25 stacks of might I would have +50% damage and I just dont seem to notice it go up that much.

Thoughts?

Fire gives more damage than any other school, air is more mobility, water is more healing, and earth is more defense….. I don’t see what the issue is here.

Mid fight I pop what I need depending on those 4 things basically.

Buildcrafting for 30 fire. Couple questions

Crenshinabon.7295

Hello all.
I have always been 0/15/0/25/30
Recently I have been wanting to push out more damage so I am trying fire.
30/0/0/30/10 is what I am lookin at.

Questions…. with 30 water, Cleansing water…. does that stack with the rank 5 trait cleansing wave? For example… if I swap to water… i get the cond removal of wave + water = 2 conditions instantly removed?

I am loving the gain a might stack with every fire cast. Paired with some boon duration runes I am pushing 20 stacks consistently with the +200 power from fire I am hitting like a truck.

Of course losing 30 arcane kinda sucks but I am hoping to make up for it with 30 in water instead and if this removes 2 conditions that is sweet.

I do agree I would like a tad more tankyness. The more I think about it Ill prob replace the green zerker ring with an exotic/ascended soldier ring to make up for my hp/armor. Will boost me closer to 3k armor and 17k hp.

While I agree with that, I do feel 29% is just too low for me to count on. 35-40% seems to be sweet spot for me to see the amount of crits I like without having to worry about food/oil.

Once i swap out green zerker ring crit will be around 36% or so which will be ideal for me. And then I could even use the food to boost my power insted of having to worry about my crit chance so much.

Just my thoughts. =P

Here ya go.
One of my rings is still a green item which will boost my crit damage up a few %s once i finally get an upgrade.

This is also with no food/oil.

This is basically a build I can use in any situation pvp or pve.

Your hp is a bit high for a guardian anyways. Roll with 15k hp. Replace soldiers with more knights. You keep the power and toughness but gain crit. You just have way too much soldier gear. Replace most of it with knights and you will like the results. Replacing all 6 gear pieces with knights nets you about 10% more crit and you lose only 2k hp.

Not to mention those divinity runes are meh at best.

Compare your divinity rune to an berzerker orb.

+5 power, +5 precision, +5 condition damage, +5 toughness, +5 vitality, +5 healing power, +2% critical damage

+20 power, +14 precision, +2% critical damage

You losing 5 toughness (which if you get more knights you will make up for)
Losing 5 condition damage (meh)
Losing 5 healing (very meh)
Lose 5 vitality (already discussed)
Gain 15 power
Gain 10 Precision

Multiply this by 6 for 6 slots.
You gain 90 power and 60 precision right there.

Thats like 3% more crit chance on just the gems.

Here is copy from previous page of this build. Do not like how forum split pages. Was wanting to easily compare the builds.

5/0/30/30/5

Power 1945
Precision 1607
Toughness 1753
Vitality 1416
Critical Damage 63%
Condition Damage 0
Condition Duration 5%
Healing Power 350
Boon Duration 35%
Critical Chance 36.89%
Armor 2964
Health 15805
Virtue Recharge Rate 5%
Effective Power 3031.32
Effective Health (EHP) 25515
Damage Reduction 38.06%

Both of the above builds are a mix of Zerker,Knight,Soldier for max effectiveness.
Not sure if the 4 runes that give 30% boon duration is worth it in Meditation build. But I do love them buffs so that also makes me sad. Cure Condition meditation feels so inferior to Pure of Voice AH with 35% boon duration.

Comparing the two builds definitely shows the Radiance pumping out more Effective Power…….. I am getting jealous, but man. under 13k hp even with a good amount of soldier seems painful to deal with. With this mucy precision maybe I would swap the gems for Beryl for more vit, but that defeats the whole purpose of the build with high crit chance.

Man I am so stumped as to the superior build. Maybe I am just looking into it too much as to max effectiveness in both wvw and pve. These are 2 super solid builds it seems.

All these stats are with no consumables at all.

I think I could see what you are saying going meditations instead of AH.
The only other build I can imagine if its not that AH build would be Meditations.
This is actually interesting as it boost crit chance by 10% while still giving heals in the form of meditations.

Armor 2964
Health 12805
Virtue Recharge Rate 5%
Effective Power 3404.81
Effective Health (EHP) 20672
Damage Reduction 38.06%

I never thought about the Radiant Power and Fiery might stacking…… that might put out some insane damage.

I will have to try this out sometime.
I will miss my empower healing me to full every 20 seconds because of AH though. lol.

Mrowqa hit it on the head for a more crit/burst build. That will net you those 5-7k crits. My opinion is more hybrid, where some well prefer even more tankyness than either of these. Just go with w/e you want man.

So for better numbers for you and my preferences.
3000 armor will not you about 40% reduction from all damage (not conditions)
2500 is only around 25% reduction.

If you run 15khp with 40% reduction this nets you around 24k “effective hp”
This is the perfect number for me and I know also a lot of people will say around 3k armor is good.

It really comes down to how much crit damage do you want to give up.

I went mostly zerkers at first where I had 2500 armor with 13k hp or so.
While I tended to stomp some noobs 1v1 with 5-7k crits, anyone who was worth their kitten would kill me super fast if I wasnt 100% on my game.

So now I crit for around 4k and have almost twice the effective health that I had before and it feels so much better for me.

Just slowly swap your zerker gear for knights/soldier until you feel comfortable.
I would work to get the armor higher first because knights does not sacrifice much in terms of damage at all and gives a ton of toughness. Not to mention higher toughness makes the HP you do have so much more awesome.

I dont get how this turned into a crit conversation.

First of all stacking so much into Radiance for more crit seems like mostly a waste, not to mention a lot of the 1hand choices and radiance traits are inferior.

5/0/30/30/5
Gives the best of every world.

My endgame stats are now as follows.

Power 1945
Precision 1607
Toughness 1753
Vitality 1416
Critical Damage 63%
Condition Damage 0
Condition Duration 5%
Healing Power 350
Boon Duration 35%
Critical Chance 36.89%
Damage 10%
Armor 2964
Health 15805
Endurance Regeneration 0%
Agony Resistance 0
Virtue Recharge Rate 5%
Damage & Survivability
Effective Power 3031.32
Effective Health (EHP) 25515
Damage Reduction 38.06%

If anyone has something that seems better than this build please let me know.
I get might stacks consistently.
Tons of support and healing.
Runes give 35% boon duration which is insanely awesome.
Still have 5 in valor for extra boon effects.
Pure of voice gives even more boons and healing.
AH gives tons of mitigation/healing.

Over 3k attack hits like a truck.
almost 40% crit rate I see crits very often.
Great crit damage on this build from Valor has me hitting even harder.
Tons of effective hp and armor.

Seriously if anyone can provide the stats/reasoning behind any other build I would appreciate it. Just looking for some good logic into another build that would also perform well.

I just do not see the advantages from 20+ in radiance at all.

If I really feel like more crit rating i just pop an oil and food and it puts me around 45-50%.

This build is insane and I have yet to see the proof that peoples other builds have the stats to back it up.

Thoughts?

New patch came out fixing pure of voice.
I have now swapped to 5/0/30/30/5
So far I am really liking this setup.

I am losing 100 power + 10% with burn + small vuln stacks.
Gaining 100 vitality (was kind of needed) + 10% with low end + Pure of Voice.

So far I am seeing this as a superior build.
It even makes me not need 20 in virtues for the condition removal anymore because pure of voice is superior to all condition removal. Gaining even MORE boons for my AH + Boon duration runes is so kittening amazing so far.

Hey Brutaly, I have seen you in a few post critique others builds as not getting the same stats as you can achieve non grouped and no food.

Would you mind posting a screenshot or the build from http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/

I just do not see how you can reach the stats you say in a previous post still with no evidence.
3k armor
1700 hp
40% crit
70% crit damage

Especially using 20 in valor which gives absolutley no stats whatsoever.

Just wanna see where I am going so wrong gear wise especially when you say
“Frankly the stats presented in this thread is kind of meh considering whats left out of the build. Its on par with what i have on my wvw build but with a lot less survivability and much worse condition removers and it also depends on constant burning to be 100% effective.”

Also not to criticize back too much, but
5 points into Virtue nets you a 5 seconds of 3 stacks of might and regen. I would hardly claim that is a shout and a half …..

I would just love to see some valid screenshots or proof via build calculator of these better stats.

That all said, thanks a ton for the feedback all is appreciated even if hard to believe

So this is what I have settled on after testing most the night and day.

20/0/30/20/0

I do not seem to be missing the utility too much so that is awesome.
I just love AH because it doesnt force me to use meditations and its just constant healing.

This is no oils or anything and I believe seems the best of all worlds builds.

=========

On that note as to some responses,
I do not understand fully the logic behind all or nothing, including boon duration.
using up 4 runes for 30% boon duration just seems so cool and good for me with all my might im stacking with empowered and using SaveYourselfStandYourGround and I am not even sacrificing all that much.

But yea, this is the build I am going with for now and thanks for the input on Virtue tree everyone.

If you think this build seems superior let me know!

Here is the complete build
http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/guardian/?3|1.1g.a7|6.1g.a7|1n.71g.1g.71g.1n.71h.1n.71h.1c.a4.1n.a4|3s.e17.3u.e17.3s.e17.1n.67.1n.67.8g.67|k00.0.u060.k00.0|0.0|e

That effective healthpool is up almost 5,000 points since my last build that was full zerker and my damage decrease is hardly noticeable especially since now I am 20 zeal.

So good. =P

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Max-build-effect-theorycrafting/first#post1498156

Lately I just feel 20 in Virtues is simply fluff and if I went with say 20 in zeal instead it would make me almost unstoppable. At the same time I love the utility and I have not tested dropping the 20 in virtues and I am afraid I will really regret the swap. Just was wanting to pick your mind a bit more about the 20 in virtues I see you using a bit more lately.

Crenshinabon.7295

Hello fellows,

So I love theorycrafting.
Most my Guardian career I have been 0/0/30/20/20
Based around altruistic healing, high crit numbers, and empowered might for extra heals.
Currently I am swapping out some zerker gear for knights as i want more toughness but that should not effect my question.

Basically the 20 points in Virtues I used mainly for extra retaliation, buffs on virtues, and virtue of courage condition removal and slightly longer boons. All of which is “decent” for utility.

I use Save yourself with boon duration runes making it last 15 seconds currently, with stand your ground for anti cc.

So my question is this…… If I like being in the frontline, killing people while being hard to kill myself, basically what anyone wants is the 20 in virtues really that gamechanger? I mean 1-2 seconds extra per boon is sweet which adds up, but lets take 20 in zeal for instances, thats 200 might which would be an INSANE boost to my crit damage and 2hand sword.

Just lookin for opinions and people who think the 20 in virtues trumps others, why do you choose it over a pretty big damage boost with zeal, or even more crit or hp with other trait trees?

Toughness make much of a difference?

in Guardian

Crenshinabon.7295

I know that without any toughness you are squishy as hell let me just say I know this. I take traits that give me +300 toughness first off. =P

Right now my character is in almost full berserker.
I have a couple pieces of soldier in there for a small boost to vit and toughness.

My question is this… is dropping my damage considerably to net me about 200 extra toughness really that noticable after a certain point? I am already in heavy armor with +300 in traits + another 100 or so in armor already.

With 1400 toughness my armor sits at 2400.
With 1600 toughness my armor sits 2600
With 1800 (Drop my damage IMMENSLY) is 2800.

Is that 200-400 armor going to really make that much of a difference?

I love to wvw and pve ankittenrying to find that perfect hybrid build but am having trouble trying to figure out how much berserker/damage gear I drop for a stat that I honestly have no idea if its doing that much in wvw or even pve.

Assassins still drop me almost as fast no matter what unless I am paying attention and thats all based around my skills anyways.

Anyone got any input on armor where maybe you have tried a mix and come to certain conclusions?

Thanks for your alls time.

So being a 0/0/30/20/20 build I realize I do not have much condition removal.
I run shout sped and no shouts will remove conditions unless using pure of voice which I hate atm due to its bugginess.

Looking at an alternative route im thinking about just replacing 1 of my shouts with a condition remover.

Smite condition just wont cut it due to only removing 1 condition and usually if im rooted i have more than just that on me.

So this leaves two options.

Contemplation of Purity, 60s cooldown, instantly all conditions removed, will provide random boons.
Purging Flames, 40 second cd, does decent ae damage and removes conditions.

My question is this…. how fast does purging flames remove conditions?
If it is not instant I am probably going to be running Cont of Purity just due to the instant nature of me needing that root breaker to get away.

Anyone else experiment with a good immobilize remover as a shout spec?

So I am lovin my guardian. He is like 100% hybrid so i have good decent damage and die hard.

Basically I am shout spec, and it is so nice to pop my shouts and be a beast for a short amount of time. My problem is when i get snared or rooted in place.

How the hell do people counter those? Doesn’t seem like stun breaks pop them. Are immobilizes just that strong as where they are the best form of cc?

Doesnt let me roll or anything, i just stand there and get pwnt by their zerg.
