Guild Wars 2’s prime has long passed, but I believe there is still a chance to relive the glory days…

Playing other games and seeing how games are being made nowadays, GW2 seriously needs to get with the program, and here’s how.

1) Housing
This is something that has become very popular with MMO players.

2) Open World PvP
Along with new rewards and items that players could potentially receive for doing so.

3) A dedicated map for GvG
Come on A-Net, many people in the community have been asking for this for years.

The mechanics and combat system of GW2 are superior than any I have ever seen, all that is left is creating a reason to keep playing. I hope this isn’t too much to ask for.

The plan would definitely spice things up for WvW, but it wouldn’t happen since it involves A-Net actually having to work.

Oh give me a break with all these BG haters! I for one enjoy reading this post & am glad someone is informing TC how much they’re being manipulated by JQ. Of couse all the servers that were wrecked in the past by Blackgate are going to be mad at us & want an end to our server… Expect some criticism my fellow BG.

BG is clearly just the underdog in their matchup… Happens in every tier with various servers.

Think this week we’ve had 1 day where we had a group of about 7 or so running around together while trying to pick on tail of the Choo zerg train. Other then that, my guys actually been getting frustrated with how dead world vs world has been.

If you are going to encourage all guilds of a server to run tagless, don’t complain about having lousy coverage in 2-3 months. Without tags, new players can’t learn whats going on, and you will eventually kill your server without fresh blood to counter the attrition.

JQ has had the most numerous pugs since this game has started, and I think its a major reason they stay in Tier 1 regardless of what guilds come and go. More recently BG has upped the pug numbers since the Teq kill and I think that also shows.

Following that tag is the first thing you learn how to do when you join WvW the first time (they are trained to do it in PvE). Then skill and TS and builds and scouting and manning siege come later. Seems to me guilds sacrifice the long term health of the game for short term “the fights are better”.

But the nice thing about WvW, is we can play it any way we want to.

On the brighter side, I am happy that other guilds are getting in on this, especially considering your blobtastic history.

And I think numbers in Oceanic is a fair debate as it has been riddled with the same map blob bs since I can remember. But I mean that’s what you get when the timezone is led by hoards of drunken Americans and Clueless Koalas who don’t know any better.

All SoR does is blob, how else do you expect the other servers to counter you?

I’m happy to report that we have had some IRON folks return to SOR after their sojourn in Gunners Hold (like DiE). But as a whole SOR does not encourage forum trolling as it is not part of our culture.

There is such thing as server pride. Look at SoR. We have had Blackgate trying to buy our guilds since were their competition but very few to none of left SoR. All of our starting WvW guilds still stay and take 2nd place because we believe we can beat BG. For a time we did but BG bought more guilds. There is server pride some have it better then others.

I don’t know, perhaps you should consider not insulting other T1 servers when your own server can pull 24/7 queues when fighting against T2 servers?

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a 24/7 queue when fighting T2 servers.

It is a figure of speech, I haven’t personally witnessed 24/7 queues, I do remember seeing a JQ poster mentioned it but it also looked more like a figure of speech.

I get asked a lot how the queues on BG are, or how I am liking them. It seems like everyone assumes we have a full map force 24/7 when in reality it isn’t even close to that.

For instance, just yesterday I was running with a 10 man “zerg”. They were the only players on the map. We got wiped plenty of times by HUGE JQ forces for poking their bay or hills.

It is truly amazing how people can fabricate such perceptions about a server, actually I I don’t with the amount of people from other servers giving false perceptions.

Oh well though, I am sure there are some people out there that know the truth.

People will say whatever they can to make themselves feel better. No matter how you look at it, they will never be satisfied until they are the ones that are winning…

I was actually thinking of Sea of Sorrows. A lot of people on forums recommended it and the 2nd tier seems to be pretty good.

I rolled on Ferguson’s Crossing currently but I’m just checking out the classes and whatnot, so no harm in deleting my low level characters and re-rolling. That tier actually seems good too but I’m wondering if a higher population server would have more lower levels, since I’m new.

From what I heard on TS…

Only about 40% of MERC left, the rest including commanders and many good players remained and are going to form a new guild. Don’t quote me on this but its what it looks like . BG will still manage to get #1 in pve and wvw.

Reasons for this:

The game is not about numbers and blobs or about a single guild or person. It is about the community, good commanders and people having fun playing together wanting to play more. We saw that with Tequatl when Blackgate opened its Teamspeak server to help other servers and also when we guested to those servers to teach people the fight.

Blackgate has an unbelievable group of top commanders and players making up one of the best communities in the game. Some wvw TS channel are so fun to listen to because they match great tactics with some real fun commentaries by people I would personally love to meet in real life.

There are too many great people/guilds I would love to name here but in the end what matters is not being ultra competitive and very tight, it is about the image you project to the community and how you benefit that community. Blackgate has a great community and we seem to focus more on the fun part of the game and the community as a whole than on pure single-minded hardcore competition. that focus on fun helped us become the number one server when others were focusing on numbers and hardcore guilds.

Its the quality of the community as a whole that made Blackgate the number one server in wvw and in pve. This is why guild transferring away for personal reasons are irrelevant as there will always be attrition. As long as the community is made of great people the server will shine and people will want to play on it. That s just my opinion.

Just for the record BG you have a history of going feral on guilds that decide to move but stay within T1. Leave them alone and move on – guilds come and go all the time, after all its just a game and everyone has different goals and motivations to play.

Some of you need to step away and remind yourselves of that and stop with the personal attacks.

A majority of Blackgate will miss MERC and wishes them the best; it’s unfair for you to accuse an entire server of disrespecting a guild for their choice on where they feel their guild should be.

Now, it’ll definitely be tough for Blackgate during Oceanic but we’ve gotten through way worse situations…

So the last time it was JQ/SOR/BG we had several posters claiming that BG is falling apart and that MERC is transferring off….. All these accusation were vehemently denied, but seems that they were all true after all.
