You are absolutely wrong. Squads are nothing like parties. They’re just a chat which is very difficult to manage.

Now that guild missions are out, guilds have even more trouble building everything they need, which creates a conflict between the members in the guild that are more into pve and want those bonuses and those who enjoy wvw and want to build golems, fort buffs and what not. Guilds should be able to build at least one more permanent build queue imo.

As it stands, a guild can’t be great in both pve and wvw, they have to choose. That sucks.

Tier 4 and 5 is the wall that breaks up servers. Darkhaven and NSP hit those tiers and slowly fell apart.

Dragonband used those tiers to rebuild and have gone from struggling in T5 to #1 in T4.

After rising up the lower tiers with little to no challenge, both BP and DR are struggling in T5. BP has already lost some big guilds.

It’s a test that your server leadership needs to pass, they can either give up and fall apart or push thru and move up.

LOL, This Kodiack guy is the official BP stalker. FYI, Krew left borlis, but actually, it was less then 1/3 of their members that left. Most of their players decided to go to other guilds because they didn’t wanna leave the server. So there were no big guilds in the plural, there was a small portion of one guild.

Borlis is still holding it’s own. We didn’t expect to win straight off the bed. Borlis is a server that works on bringing PVE players into WvW and that’s why it takes us time to move up and improve.

Sad to see Devona playing for second. Did you guys give up on winning?

The BP zerg in BPBL is the funniest thing i have seen in WvW so far. Its literally a ‘roaming’ zerg. No objective, just run as a zerg and chase down everything they see, its hilarious.. and sad.

I love when people complain about zerg and numbers. It means we’re doing something right.

BTW, would you call defending against 30 breakout events no objective?

Going by what you’re saying I guess we should leave 5 people back at our borderlands and let you guys come in and take stuff. Hmm, not sure that’s a good idea.

That’s curious advice coming from a BP player, since at almost the exact same time (about 1:30 AM server time) that you posted this BP was repeatedly (wave after wave) trying to sandwich DR while we were attacking (and eventually taking) the inner wall and Lord’s Room of SM. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what the intent of that was because BP didn’t appear to have the numbers there to take SM themselves even if they killed us all off. I just found it pretty odd.

All in all, though, it’s been great fun so far.

You’re gonna find “clever” guys in every server unfortunately. Also Eternal is the land of the noob. Those things happen.

Same goes to KREW and all the other new guilds that recently joined. Your battles are now our battles. You will experience that the DB community takes care of each other. The DB server will have your back.

Furey, that guy’s comment was as sarcastic as it can be. He is the one who created a spoof guild of GOAT. Instead of Shadow of Agony, they called it Agony of Shadow, and they also created a fake “Plok” called Plok the Originale to run around giving people bad instructions. Last matchup they exploited into hills using the fake GOAT tag and got themselves on someone’s fraps (not sure if they had communicated and arranged it) to give GOAT a bad name.

That guy is the kind of guy that ruins this game for all of us. All in all an appalling behavior. I hope Anet bans him and his cohorts asap.

On reset in EB we left SM untouched in the beginning, we just let DH have it and went after DB. We had almost all of their side of EB and were holding them off but then what does wonderfully tactical DH does? Start attacking our side so we have to give up attacking DB and have to attack them.

DH could have hung back and upgraded all their things and armed it to the teeth but not, the geniuses wanted MOAH.

And then our own guys decide it was boring in our borderlands and go attack DH BL before they even got waypoints. So what happened? The pugs couldn’t handle a few invaders and started losing things there. Then off course we had to pull back from DB BL to help.

The strategy was to go for DB since they’re the real threat, but it seems only a few old wise men can actually figure that out and stick to it.

Good job DH and BP for being so horrible it makes me wanna quit the game.

Also, I’d once again like to thank ANet for rendering all the awesome fights we had last night irrelevant due to their inability to provide a match-up where we won’t wake up in the morning and have all 4 maps Green because they believe Oceanic Game Time is more important than ours.

It sounds like you didn’t read my post very well OR you were not there during the first 4 hours of reset. When it reset, and for the next 4 hours, BP did not attack DH. It was only once we had to let go of the green keep that we attack you, since you deserved it for misbehaving.

But I have to admit the bad strategy is all on my part. I am excepting cooperation and strategy from a dying server. Instead, I should focus all my forces on DH and push them down as fast as possible and hope Devona moves up. I’m sure our T8 buddies will be a lot smarted about the matchup and, after all, DH has been crying for Anet to move them down for the past 3 weeks anyhow.

I saw the breakout even ready to happen in EB last night however I was confused as we had 1/3rd of the EB map (plus SM). If we already own our two keeps then what does the breakout event do when you start it?

As far as I know it will just bring supplies to a tower you already own.

The winning team will probably not be using the breakout event anyway, since they can get the job done quicker with an organized group and be inside/capping a tower before “Commander PVE” is even activated and escorted with the same amount (10) of people.

The winning team is, in fact, using breakout events. At least in my matchup.

I believe the breakout events were designed with the purpose of helping losing teams breakout of their spawn and have a fighting chance in the maps they were locked out of. As it stand, the breakout event is not helping the losing team, but instead, it’s harming it.

Here is what Anet needs to change to fix it:

1. Give no breakout to the winning team.

This seems like an obvious rule. I have no clue why it was not implemented from the start.

2. Only give breakout event to a team if it’s behind another team by more than 15k points.

10k, 15k, 20k, whatever, we can argue about that, but the idea is that the breakout should only trigger in unbalanced matches. Also, if 2nd and 3rd place are close in score, they should get no breakout against each other this way, and only get a breakout against the winning team.

3. Trigger the event only once every 30 minutes.

Right now the breakout event spawns too quickly.

4. Only allow 1 breakout event per map at any one time.

Two teams triggering breakout events at once is a bit too much.

There you go. I’d do away with the whole idea of breakout events, but since some people seem to enjoy their pve into wvw, at least these ideas can fix it so it doesn’t give unfair advantage to the team that doesn’t need it.

That’s fine. I thought I could ally with DH since Ehmry is winning by such a large margin. But how could that ever happen when even DH cannot ally with DH? You’re just an unorganized blob of pugs there. Poor RE guys, they must be going through hell right now.

@ ShadowSoljer – if you’re going to be a smart kitten at least get a signature going so we can know what server and guild you’re from to come kill you.

I’m back from my holidays and trying to help out, but I find it pathetic when I come into DH map to take what’s green and help DH get their land back that they stop going against Ehmry and come against us. Not that it was a problem, we just wiped you, but really, have some sense for strategy.

They’re obviously exploiting a terrain glitch and trying to make it look like it’s ok just because they’re lame. There is a reason you have to jump down in both locations to go to the camps, it’s so you can’t run back up and become invulnerable.

They are not working as intended and anyone who tries to convince you that it does is probably cheating in others ways too.

Playing against DB what was most annoying imo is that you couldn’t accuse them of being just numbers. They have great strategy and very skilled players. Glad to see how well BP handled them last matchup since DH was not putting up much of a fight so it was a BP vs DB fight and it was still very close. And yes, we spent a lot of money upgrading things that would be gone next time we logged in.

Keep an eye out for EA, NEWL and NNK, you see those you know you’re in trouble. lol

Not a lot of people know this, but as long as the guild name is different the tag can be the same. For example, my guild is The Order of Digital Knightz DKz, I can create another guild called Dolyak Killaz and tag it DKz and you’ll think it’s the same.

There is a spoof of GOAT in our server. For what reason I don’t know. But I am sure that if any real GOAT has exploited Plok would have kicked out them, reported them and published their names so no other guilds would ever invite them again.

Now how about we try to enjoy the season and clean up this thread?

BTW, is Ehmry Bay Grinch? I hope they turn around on Xmas eve. ;p Poor snowman army.

Is DH playing for second or is it just clueless pugs attacking BP just when we weaking Ehmry?

DH has most of their borderlands green and now they’re making a major push on SM. Makes no tactical sense to me.

On reset night we were in Eternal. We held our own very well against EB. WaR, DKz, ORL, and other smaller guilds were there. Unfortunately DH kept attacking us and making us weaker which led to the loss of SM. But we can get it back eventually. I do believe this week would be dumb for DH and BP to fight each other. EB is the only enemy right now.

It is the end of the year. It is holiday season. So I believe it is not time to fight but to celebrate. And we in Borlis have a lot to celebrate.

We have many guilds that used to be PVE guilds now interested in WvW: WFD, Ily, MoA, cola, Fox, SaF, LAG, Arr, ANTS, TRI, and many others.

We have solid commanders we can trust to hold a map: Nalivan, Sylphia, Duke, Lu Bu, Evilzara, Hymnosi, Lilac, Mich, Drogan, Kito, Justice and others.

We have great guilds which are strong in WvW: CORE, ORL, WaR, SOUL, GOAT, Krew, DKz, BURN, SBZY, EDGE, GODS and many others.

We have a community website and server-wide teamspeak.

And last but not least, you have me, your humble servant.

So these are my hopes and wishes for this wonderful season. May all of us learn to enjoy and cherish our lives, families and friends. May we have wisdom to deal with our problems. May we have health and be happy.

DH, why oh why treb our SM when EB has 3 full maps green. You make me sad.

I’d like to give a shout out to the guilds that bugged the kitten out of me because they were very difficult opponents to beat.

EA – great guild, very skilled players. Tough cookies to crack these guys.
NNK – can you be any more annoying? Your guild is huge and you guys come on when it’s like 10 hours past my bed time. You can field 50 players on a borderland easily and you know what to do with siege. kitten Move to Kaineng pls!
NEWL – I love you guys. Thank you for transferring to DB. When we left GoM behind I thought I would never be able to fight you guys again. Usually when we find an enemy group it’s like “kill those noobs” but when we meet you it’s “oh kitten, it’s NEWL”
RE – Invulnerability stuff aside, you guys have some pretty annoying and skilled players. You guys haven’t got an “Oh kitten it’s RE” from me yet, but you put up great fights. Just one thing though, when you see DKz take a tower or keep in your map or side of the map in EB, think twice before attacking us. A lot of times we’re just trying to take it away from DB so you can take it more easily and they won’t have the points. Today in DH BL I was going to open bay and defeat the lord and then have all my players /bow and leave the keep to you guys, but you attacked us and I didn’t have time to organize it. That was sad. We came to your BL to help you fend off DB from there. Next time attack their kitten first pls.

I was in the BP BL last night and Stargrove camp. Our commander says “Anyone at Hills? I just saw 3 run from the supply camp toward that direction” I saw no swords on Hills, but I figured I was close so I ran over. Nothing at all. I was standing on the NW gate when I saw 3 run by. I told him so, that they were just heading by, looked like they were on their way to Stargove and altered our guy there to get ready. Commander says “Okay, just wanted to make sure they weren’t setting up catas” I thought, no swords here, but I should check just in case. I rounded the corner on the wall and saw 3 catas at the wall. I thought wow, didn’t we just take Hills with 3 catas but I swear they were all built, not 2 built 1 not. I then noticed a second later that I didn’t get the little cog icon when hovering over them. Swore a couple times, jumped down and destroyed all three (with another DB player).

I can’t believe I almost missed this. Thank goodness for an alert commander.

However, how the heck did 3 DKz build them? That’s about 125 supply for 2 1/2 catas for 3 guys or about 4 trips each. That’s some serious dedication. I think they were a guardian, an ele and one other. I honestly felt bad destroying them since they had such a great plan and great dedication.

lol, good times. We usually run +5 supply when we do ninja stuff in small groups. That’s our moment of relaxation cause DKz is usually involved with map control and it’s fun to just go out and try something crazy for the hell of it. Don’t feel bad though, we feel great when we do that to you. :p

The match isn’t over yet. If DB wins, congratulations, they made a good push on Thursday. It is actually they’re NA prime players that should be congratulated though, the Asian players have an easy time playing two servers asleep, but they are actually putting up quite a fight at NA prime time and blocking BP from making it back up like it was in the beginning of the match. But we never know, maybe BP will still be able to push a bit more before reset.

We have already learned quite a few tricks with DB and we’re putting them to good use.

All in all, we have loved playing against DB and DH this week. Putting all talk about cheating and all that jazz aside, you have been worthy opponents. DB and DH definitely are not the same as AR but with more numbers. You guys use siege in a different way, you use different tactics, you sweep of mesmers, use AOE stacking, etc etc.

If we do not win, we will still be happy with the great job we did this week.

1 second i was defending a red tower, then lagged, then all of a suddon im being attacked by npcs. All within 10 seconds of when i started using the cata to defend teh tower. lol

Everything you stated sort of answers your own statements..
1. DB zerg vs Solo defender
2. You have a broken/slow/old computer that has parts of it which don’t function
3. You lagged out for long enough that the entire zerg poured in, killed the lord, and flipped ownership while you were still lagged.
4. The door for your non-upgraded tower was on the verge of being open before you arrived.
5. You died in a WvW zone, no need to call anyone exploiters.

If the zerg got in how was he still alive to be attacked by the NPC?

I am also posting this in here to see if I can encourage a last push from Dragonbrand before reset tomorrow. We would much rather have you here next week then Ehmry Bay.

As a result of the two Keeps that were taken using exploits on Yaks Bend Borderlands we are going to focus Ehmry Bay. I have made this agreement with a majority of the Commanders on Yaks Bend, this will be until server reset.

Given the current scores and calculating in SPT (score per tick) Ehmry Bay will only be 10 points above Dragonbrand in ranking upon reset. I’d like to see Ehmry Bay dropped this week into Div. 5.

As we have no influence over Dragonbrand’s SPT, we will focus on keeping Ehmry Bay’s SPT as low as possible over the next 24 hour period.

I am not picking favorites between the 3 teams in your Div. Dragonbrand simply is the closest to Ehmry Bay’s rank.

I’m all for that. Might actually work in BP’s favor if that did happen. Besides, I do have a bone to pick with Ehmry Bay. EB / DH / BP match-up would be fun.

In fact, that’s what will most likely happen. Maybe not this week, but almost certainly the next. DB has a large Asian player base which will not be going home for Christmas like NA players. I myself will be away for a week. I might be wrong but next week might actually be a much easier week for DB. I do promise this evil deed will not go unpunished though. Once the holidays are over you can most certainly bet BP will get a lot stronger.

Celebrate the PUGs, celebrade small guilds. If RE is the only big one, help the smaller ones get bigger. Help train the new commanders. Make an alliance and invite them to join. Have weekly meetings to talk about strategy. Tell people often to join your public voice chat server. Have someone develop a community website and tell people to join. Do PVE events and then invite them to join you in wvw next. There are many thing you can do to make your server stronger without needing big guild transfers from other servers.

DKz has been in Borlis since beta. We used to be a PVE guild, like most other guilds we have in the server. It took us many weeks to learn about wvw and also educate those that play with us.

Right now DH’s biggest problem is not numbers, it is morale. If you are telling me you see new PUGs every day, then that’s great news. That’s a lot of people that can become wvw regulars in the future. PUGs are only PUGs for a while, eventually, they become WvW veterans.

Even Monkey Shine has improved.

Lol good post sir. However an alliance has and was setup but people in said guilds did not EVER want to work together for the server as a whole.

There was bickering and fighting and ego stroking no one wanted to work together. They just wanted to sit and complain about another guild and hold grudges and shout who is the best and who are the only ones that Do anything in WvW because they are supposedly the only ones who do anything for this server.

This is one of the main reasons why DH is dying / falling apart.

Well, that’s a problem. But since a few guilds have left, why not try it again. People have to understand that everyone works for the server, even the ones you think are idiots. So you must find common ground. One thing I suggest is having all commanders and leaders in a guild and tell them all to add each other to friend’s list. When one of them needs help, he should whisper the others, when they come to help, that creates a bond between them.

I guess we are fortunate in Borlis because comes reset we know where each guild is going and what their job is. Also, I know I can message people and I will get help from all guilds. An alliance, a voice chat server, a community website, should all be neutral. It might be provided by one particular guild, but any and all players should be welcome there and it should be made clear it’s a public service.

I’m being told by fellow guild members that GoF has left DH now. If that’s true then that means RE is pretty much the only big guild left on DH. Not certain if that’s true though as they’ve always said they’d be on DH forever.

Anet has made a lot of mistakes with GW2 and most are forgivable but letting free transfers continue has to be their biggest. They’ve basically sanctioned the death of servers and the communities people have tried to build on them by keeping transfers free.

Fellyn, we actually agreed on something! Sorry to hear about DH falling, hopefully ANET will make changes as a New Years Resolution.

Screenshotted this just a few hours ago, figured it might be interesting that someone from Dragonbrand would openly ask if they should use an exploit to attack. The commander said no since “BP likes to screenshot”. Does that mean they’ve been doing it all this time on previous servers??

If anyone were to ask in Borlis Pass whether they should exploit past the outer walls of Garrison the answer would be something like:

A: No!
B: Are you insane?
Commander: We don’t ever exploit, ever, and if we catch you doing it you can sure as hell count on us reporting you.

Celebrate the PUGs, celebrade small guilds. If RE is the only big one, help the smaller ones get bigger. Help train the new commanders. Make an alliance and invite them to join. Have weekly meetings to talk about strategy. Tell people often to join your public voice chat server. Have someone develop a community website and tell people to join. Do PVE events and then invite them to join you in wvw next. There are many thing you can do to make your server stronger without needing big guild transfers from other servers.

DKz has been in Borlis since beta. We used to be a PVE guild, like most other guilds we have in the server. It took us many weeks to learn about wvw and also educate those that play with us.

Right now DH’s biggest problem is not numbers, it is morale. If you are telling me you see new PUGs every day, then that’s great news. That’s a lot of people that can become wvw regulars in the future. PUGs are only PUGs for a while, eventually, they become WvW veterans.

All I have to say is that even though these guilds have left, or a thinking of leaving, our smaller guilds are stepping up to the challenge. going to give a shout out to some guilds I have seen lately just so the darkhaven people that come to the forumes to read and not reply can see that we are not going down unless its in a blaze of glory.

These small guilds make a server. No one big guild can hold all borderlands together. It is you that we rely on and it is you that we turn to when we need that extra 30 supply or someone to add to a zerg. We will need all the small guilds to work together more then ever now seeing as were loosing more and more people.

I will personally be with darkhaven all the way down. Whether we stop our own fall and stand up or hit the bottom. We will eventually stand and we will eventually get stronger.

All others who come here complain about free transfers, look at this guy. This is the kind of leader that you need in your server. Many guilds leave? So what? Eventually you’ll drop down to face servers with numbers similar to yours. Fights in T8, T7, T6, are a lot of fun!

Only care about winning? Transfer to SoS. There you go, you became a hero. Easy.

The question is, do you care enough about your community to stick it out and let the chips fall where they may?

That is why Borlis is not interested in advertising for guilds to transfer to our server. Let us build our community from the ground up. Let us bring people from PVE to WvW.

I bet DH has a bunch of PVErs that can still learn to wvw and help them. Stop panicking and thinking it’s the end. Tell people in your server you will stay and that they should stay and fight together. That’s the attitude that will save DH. Grow a pair.

It can feel very demoralizing to play on a server that has either experienced a flight of talent or experiences severe WvW disinterest. And moving an entire guild is a serious decision. I don’t envy the struggle that you have endured to reach this decision…

Come to T1… we enjoy and appreciate a healthy culture of support for mature talent.

Transfers are welcome. Not only do we welcome new talent, but we discourage “bandwagon” harassment. Anyone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and fight the good fight… becomes native. Of course there is the natural adaptation to the JQ culture, but you will face that at any server you move to. We; however, value the unique experience, strength, and hope you may add to our collective. Your DNA will mix with ours and we will all become stronger for the union.

Jade Quarry has a dedicate, server-wide Teamspeak3 server for cross-guild communication and map coordination. We operate the server as an OPEN access server. This means we occasionally get lurkers. However, we do have a validation process where we verify residency. And all commanders enjoy elevated privileges to help manage the communications (or boot enemy infiltrators).

We lean very heavily toward a “leaderless” confederacy. While there are cliques — we passionately try to avoid the pitfalls of “alliances.” This means that (on occasion) our leadership will squabble a bit… but so far everyone has managed to remember that cannibalism and splash damage hurts everyone.

We have a mixture of seasoned and veteran commanders and a pipeline of mentored talent.

It’s not all roses and pony’s… we have the usual petty bickering and qq’ing. And we face the same challenges of 24/7 commitment that all servers face; however, we do have outstanding (read HUGE and SKILLED) Oceanic representation.

We have light queues (15 min or so) for all the maps on Friday night… but most maps are 1-5 min tops or instaqueue the rest of the week..

If you like EB, we are always looking for some discipline and maturity on that map. A new guild could quickly and easily establish themselves if they chose to tackle the constant challenge of managing the more challenging map.

Admittedly, we are a difficult server to transfer to… but, I believe that everyone that has chosen to relocate here has appreciated the move. Any individual or guild that wants to dedicate themselves to JQ is welcome and their investments are appreciated.

I hope you will give Jade Quarry serious consideration.

@ Spitfire – have you been out on the field? Gotta pay more attention to what’s happening and less to what other people say bubba. It’s as Hadann says, we have queues on reset day for a couple of hours and that’s it. We have a pretty decent PVE population, so maybe if we can make them play wvw more often we’ll be able to get more queues in the futuer. Who knows.

@ Sureshot – we try to hold out as best we can. But it does come to a point where we have 15 people total for all maps and DB has 70 on EB, 70 on Borlis and a few more in DB and DH. So it is kinda like fighting against nobody at that point.

DB never has as few players on the field as BP does. I’m sure Plok’s answer was not far off the mark when replying to someone who used the sentence “leading us to total victory” when DB is in second place.

@ Kelving – I can assure you 99% of BP players expected a tough fight and had no idea whether we would win or even place second this match-up. The ones being arrogant are probably those that don’t have a clue about the effort we have to put into being in the lead and are just coming on the forums to make us look bad.

Those aren’t our cheater ether, we didn’t have any issue with hacking before last week. They just transfer from server to server.

Sadly since it happened, BP is acting like Anvil Rock is a server full of hacker. You judged us over a few players actions.

In this week match up, no hacking at all on our side. You are stuck with them now

A few players? The screens we showed had a good 50+ some you could not see. In addition most major guilds and the alliance were represented in those screens. This was not newbs following with lack of knowledge, this was a wide section of established guilds players CHEATING! Plok knocks you from that high horse, hey just like in game.

BP is full of hackers and cheater we should report and ban them all you guys are too funny.

This guy is a well-known forum troll. This is what he posted in another thread about cheating:
